If you're looking for flavor and fun, this is the place for you. Spitfire in Eagle has a gorgeous roof top balcony and friendly staff. It's always clean and you're well taken care of. You're going to definitely spend some money though. The average alcoholic mixed drink is about $12 and you're looking at $7/taco. So this isn't going to be your meal on a budget. But the food is delicious and the experience is likely to leave you satisfied if you have the cash to spend. read more

The drinks are STRONG! Good service. Good food. Clean little place. Love the high booths. I wish with the chips and guacamole that they came with way more guacamole, it's totally not enough, super small bowl. So I hope they work on that part. Will be back to try rooftop! Just visited for brunch. The food was ok, but the service was worse. Strange the breakfast burritos don't come with a side of salsa or sour cream or anything for that matter. My chicken sandwich was just chicken and peppers on a bun, no side. Silverware was dirty, and the service was just terrible. We sat and waited 20 minutes with dirty plates, no water, and no one checked on us once. When the lady at the bar finally noticed we were getting antsy, she simply said "ready to get out of here?" and left us with the payment device. All around not a good experience! Sad. read more

I ordered the Al Pastor taco and the carne asada. Neither of the tacos were amazing per my tastebuds. The tacos and my friends salad came out in like 2 minutes (which would be great if the food was good). The meat on both of them tasted a little old to me, like it was just sitting waiting to be put on a taco. The salsa for the chips was just okay, almost seemed like a sauce vs a salsa. I really wanted to love this place when I saw it being built so close to where I live! Especially since they have 2 other restaurants in San Diego, which is where I am from so I'm assuming owners are from San Diego as well. Anyways, the food in my opinion is way too spicy. I love spice but the spice is so Intense it almost makes the food not edible. The pork belly taco is the only one I can handle spice wise. It's good, I love the pickled veggies that come on it. We have asked for the spices/sauces on the side and the tacos still come out spicy. ‍ I was super excited about the birria ramen but unfortunately it was too spicy for me to eat :( I think since they aren't cheap tacos or burritos maybe offer different spice levels when ordering. We stopped by this new downtown Eagle hot spot for a Thursday lunch. This is a small place with patio seating and some booth seats in the bar area, and the restaurant was already crowded at 11:45am but was able to nab a couple of bar seats. We were promptly waited on and ordered prosecco while reviewing the menu. They have a few appetizers such as ceviche, chips & salsa, street corn, and buffalo chicken tenders. The bulk of the menu is $7 ala carte tacos or $15 burritos. I had a quesabirria taco, my friend the mushroom taco; we shared the shrimp ceviche. The birria taco had plenty of meat, but the tortilla was thin and was not crispy like a traditional birria taco. It was served with a consomme, which was tasty, but it was difficult to dip the taco into consomme because the filling fell out. The taco had the right amount of spice. My friend had plenty of portobello mushrooms in her taco, and she liked the flavors. The shrimp ceviche was served with chips, but the bowl was too big and deep, and it was too hard to dip a chip into the ceviche. The shrimp, vegetables, and mango were not chopped to the same size for easy dipping. It could have used less mango and more shrimp. The flavors had a smoky curry flavor. Overall, this is a nice gathering place; it will be fun in the summer when rooftop seating is open but dread the parking. I would like to see more shareable options. Serving 3 street size tacos for $7 may be perceived to be a better value than a single full sized taco for the same price. read more

It is hard to fault Spitfire's advertising that their tacos are inauthentic. I just got back from a week in Mexico, eating delicious food in various cities and villages, and Spitfire's food doesn't resemble any of it. They do have some normal sounding tacos, like al pastor, and the pineapple was very good. The rest of it was pretty tasteless. If you like a California chain restaurant with fusion tacos like banh mi, Korean BBQ, peri peri, and Nashville-style chicken, made in a soggy, tasteless tortilla at $7 each, with no sides I could see other than tater tots, then this is the place for you! read more

Went there for a girls night and found my new favorite place. Was very impressed by the food. The tajin chips changed the way I look at chips and guacamole forever. It's nice to see a business trying to give you your moneys worth, but honestly the prices are way on the high side and I would have appreciated paying a third less for a burrito I didn't have to unwrap and take Half of the meat out of. I had a skinny marg and my husband had the special marg of the season which included carrot and ginger. He was a little apprehensive to order it but gave it a go! He loved it! We had the chips, salsa, queso and guac app and it was delicious! I don't remember the names of the tacos we had but mine had shrimp and my husband had mole and another one that he really enjoyed.
