Whenever I come to SLC/Utah, I always find my way to Spitz. It's fresh Mediterranean food that is full of flavor. When you walk in the music is bumping with good vibes and the space is inviting. You order at a counter and they give you a number to take to your seat where they will bring you your food. Also, it's an community eating/ open seating concept. There is a station to get freshly made dipping sauces that are perfect toppers to any meal-- especially, if your into spicing things up with their hot sauce. The menu has lots of great options -- salads, bowls, plates--including ones you can share (for an appetizer or family style). Much recommended and will be back. read more

Spitz used to be a special place for my husband and I. We went on our first date to Spitz (Sugarhouse location), we have gone multiple times but not since about 2021. I see that is for good reason. The gyro which was described as having a "pillowy pita" was deep fried and hard to bite into, there was hardly any toppings on the gyro there was little to no meat, the sauces tasted flavorless and old on the gyro. The fries were lack luster and cold, and they over charge you for combos and if you want sauces you have to shell over money for a maybe 2 oz, of sauce. This is not a Mediterranean place, it tastes like McDonald's decided to make "Mediterranean" "food". My favorite part of the meal was the Ginger Ale that was watery and tasted like it was lacking syrup. The counter had mats on it emitting a "mildew pool mat/ play place" smell. It was loud, hot and smelly in the restaurant but far more smelly is their patio which smells like a toilet because it's right by the sewer for the restaurants. So you can eat crap food while smelling crap. Beautifully done ambiance. After eating here we felt hungry but too sick to eat anything else. Much less finish our date. This restaurant is also the gift that keeps on giving. I have been sick since I ate there. Full on sweating, feeling like I'm going to throw up, dry heaving and of course the thing that rhymes with Spitz, The Sh*ts... I'm on day 3 of feeling this way. I feel crappy, spent money on what I thought would be a great little pick me up date night but this has been a huge letdown. Never again will I waste my money in the hipster wasteland restaurant that tries to be kitschy like LA but misses the mark on all aspects. You have to have somewhat okay food to match your decor for it to work. I do have to say the service was good. Nothing to complain about they were nice and helpful and allowed modifications. I don't however think that it merits a tip but I still tip always. How is everyone okay with eating here? Is everyone just that obsessed with junky crap food? read more

One of my favorite places to eat! The Mediterranean wrap is my favorite!! I just get it vegetarian style, no meat. I love the flavors. The olives are a fun hint of flavor. Ps, don't wear the paper. DO NOT GET THE KIDS WRAP. Literally they take the burnt, crusty, super dry ends and put it in their wrap. My kiddo didn't eat any of it because it was so dry and she kept choking. I thought she was just being dramatic...then I took a bite. And yeah. Just dry dry dry. I would've been better off just splitting my wrap with her (which I ended up doing anyways). It might have been tolerable if they threw in veggies just like they do the normal wraps, but just the bread and meat was indigestible. One star for the kids meal. We tried their most popular doner wrap, called the Street Cart Doner, beast mode, with beef & lamb and we enjoyed every bite! There was the perfect ratio of tender meat to zesty toppings. Now, for the star of the show- the Street Cart Fries with mixed meat were to die for! They are most definitely some of the best loaded fries we have had! Top 3 without a doubt. So here's the deal. The first time I came here, I left thinking I would give Spitz 4 stars. It has great food, good service, and a fun atmosphere. But here's the catch... I haven't been able to stop coming back!!!! I find myself craving the Street Cart Wrap constantly. It is just such good, fresh, fun food that you can't find anywhere else in Utah Valley. We got the fried pita strips with hummus, the street cart donor, the Mediterranean diner wrap, regular fries and sweet potato fries. We also tried the gyro, which I expected to be fresh but instead was very heavy. The fries were delicious and had a great sauce accompanying them. However, everything else just seemed heavy and extra fried. You know that feeling you get after you eat a super greasy burger and fries? That is the feeling we had after eating here, which is just not really what we were going for when stopping at a Mediterranean place. Went to Spitz-Lehi and I will definitely be adding it to my list of go-to establishments! I went one time before for dinner and it was great. It had to be, because it was packed. I decided this time to go during lunch this time and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Döner Salad. What an explosion of flavors! If you love Mediterranean food, you'll love Spitz. Service was amazing! I would be in trouble if this place was within walking distance of my office. Added bonus: they have a few table games that can be played to help create that community of food lovers. The kids and I waiting for our movie to start so we decided to find a restaurant close by to eat. My daughter suggested Spitz because of the high ratings. It was getting so we stopped by. Wow the food was great. Two of my kids had the beef gyro and I had the chicken wings. My oldest had the chicken wrap and she said it was delicious. We were all pleasantly surprised with how good the food was especially the sweet potato fries. A bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. I've been to Spitz quite a few times now, mainly at the Lehi location where I have gone for lunch occasionally. I really enjoy the flavors of the food (the meats are seasoned really well and their fries too - especially sweet potato)! The portion size for the bowls are enough for two, even three meals. We went most recently for a coworker's farewell. We got there somewhat early, and as we ate, it got super early, sometimes ordering in house can be a bit of a wait, and sometimes there's something a little off with the order, but it's usually fixed pretty quickly. I tried their unicorn baklava before and it was really yummy. This time I got to try their cinnamon pita strips, which come with dipping chocolate sauce and whipped cream. I enjoyed those a lot. They were crispy and sweet with a cinnamon punch! Their hummus is great there too. One of my coworkers loves the Doquitos - I have yet to try those, so they will be next! Would have given 3-4 stars for the food but the staff was terrible. Food first: both the lamb/beef and the chicken were delicious. Not necessarily authentic to a real German doner but tasty. The street cart doner and Mediterranean were equally great except for the tzatziki sauce. Skip that. We loved the pita chips and falafel, so crispy but not oily. Now the staff: could have cared less we ate here. No thank you, no smiles, and definitely no apology when they messed up my order. It was supposed to be chicken but was served lamb/beef. Not only did she ask to verify on my receipt, but then picked up my plate and I watched as she had a very long conversation with the 2 sketchy looking cooks who seemed to be confused that chicken is not the same as beef. I actually thought they might come try and convince me it was my mistake. After 15 min was served my correct order with no apology and attitude again that it must be my problem not theirs. I'm a big fan of spitz and so glad they're in Utah county. Very flavorful food, good sized portions, and fresh. Their fries are definitely some of my favorite around. There are a few things that seem different about this location. Or maybe they've changed the others too. Not the biggest fan of the sandwiches/wraps coming in a metal bowl. Terrible presentation and even more so makes it really difficult to pick up and eat. And the bread, while still delicious, is cut in a triangle shape which makes it hard to keep the fixins inside. But even with those, the food is super yummy and I will continue to return. Now if the people in the front would get off their phones so the poor cook doesn't have to keep dinging the bell to get someone to come back and pick up the food.... read more

I ordered a wrap and both my wife and I felt it was noticeably smaller than the previous wraps we've eaten there. Its a bummer to write this review since Spitz used to be one of my favorite spots. I ALWAYS otdered delivery and noticed some food quality issues but honestly just kept hoping it would improve. We ordered pick up and just done. I ordered the medi bowl and hubs had a gyro combo. As I ate I made the comment...dry meat and hard and he made the same assessment about his food. Maybe only on restaurant dining is a positive experience but this dry/hard meat has happened one tooo many times. Hopefully the SLC location is still good. read more

They have the cutest interior and I just really love their vibes. Well it was a Friday night and I didn't have much else to do. I also got a coupon for 20% off I think for signing up for their eclub--what a deal! I placed a to-go order so I could get my discount. By the time I got there, it was waiting for me but still hot! I was impressed! I ended up eating it right there at the bar. I got the Street Car Doner Wrap with chicken. I feel like I would've LOVED it actually, if it wouldn't have been for one small thing...the wrap was overpowering with cucumber. I am not a big fan of cucumber and I just couldn't escape it in this wrap. I did love the chicken and the pita wrap though so I would give it another shot, just without the cucumber salsa. I also got a side of fries and a drink. I absolutely LOVED the fries and the fry sauce that came with it! The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! I love Spitz, Great food. My favorite is the Remix Bowl I'd eat there more if there were more variety in their options. The bowls and wraps are essentially the same thing in a different form. Also all the bowls have similar ingredients and don't seem to taste that different so I tend to eat the same things every time I go there. The quality and partion size has severely diminished since I last visited Spitz for a meal. the Hero meat, lamb, was dry and tasteless. The fries were cold and burnt. The best part of the meal as the Greek salad. The staff were in my opinion seems far too distracted by their phones. The customer service was top notch. If this is your first time- they have a menu with photos to help you know what everything is. Ask for it, because hi, everything looked incredible. 2. They bring your food to you if they're not too busy AND they always clear the table for you. It's so small, but I love it. 3. THE FLAVOR- wow. Every bite was packed full of incredible flavors. Sptiz - A name that is unappetizing, head scratching, & ill-advised that honestly kept us away for a while until the good reviews finally convinced us to check it out. Fresh tasting Mediterranean food with a Greek street eats feel. They have wraps but they weren't like gyros, more like burritos. The also have loaded fries which are popular. The fries are thicker than thin. There is a choice of lamb (very tender), chicken (wasn't cooked right but they took it back and corrected that), a mix of chicken lamb and beef, and falafel. I had the bowl which seemed the freshest, lots of ingredients and natural flavors. They fried the chick peas and I dug that. Quinoa was cooked well. The falafel isn't the best I've had but pretty good flavor. The decor is a hodgepodge of trendy nonsense that doesn't quite gel but the staff are friendly and the food makes the experience worth it. Don't let the name fool you... I fought trying Spitz because it sounded unappetizing but it's the opposite of that! The Berliner Bowl with beef/lamb (they're combined into one) is my go-to for its dynamic flavors and ingredients: cabbage slaw, pickled red onion, feta, roasted corn, quinoa, diced tomato, and cucumber with lavash strips. We've eaten in and gotten Door Dash but feel like the portions to-go are smaller than eating in. They accidentally added fried garbanzo beans once... I didn't like their texture with that bowl. There's a shelf of games in the corner plus TVs with news or sports. Their kombucha on tap is fun, but more expensive than the bottled stuff. Worth trying if that's your jam. I wish the Berliner name wasn't used for the wrap, bowl, AND fries. A new guy rang me up for a wrap instead of bowl and I can't stand the wraps (hard for me to bite through and the little bits fall out; tried a chicken wrap once and it was dry like jerky). It was a to-go order, so I didn't find out it was wrong until I got to work. Spitz is my favorite place to eat in the Thanksgiving Point area these days because it tastes fresh, light, and flavorful. Oh! If you like hummus, GET THE FRIED PITA WITH HUMMUS. They slice the pita into strips then fry them. I had a wrap with falafel on 3 different occasions. Every time it tasted like it had cinnamon in it, which ruined the taste of the falafel. I talked to them about it and they said it didn't have cinnamon, but when I got it, it still tasted like cinnamon. I gave up and did not return.
