I relocated to the Mansfield Arlington area and I have struggled finding my Go To places. I love how dated this place is. the lunch special is 6.50. You get soup, entree, rice and egg roll and wontons. I chose the hot and sour soup. It was thick and flavorful. The wontons were crispity and crunchity! This is not Chinese food. I would never even feed this to my dog. Ordered egg drop soup. It looks more like cream of corn, and has no flavor. Rice was mushy and bland. If you've lost all sense of taste and smell and suffer poor vision then this restaurant will be great for you otherwise look elsewhere. read more

The only thing my husband had to complain about the Mongolian beef, it had more veggies than he likes. He's used to Mongolian beef with just beef & scallions. My orange chicken was very delicious! Loved having the steamed rice with it. This place is very quiet and calm, unlike the city that surrounds it. I give this place tons of props for being in existence for more than two decades. The place may look the same from when they first opened but their selections, quality and convenience are no joke. They have daily lunch specials, entrees and yes, FREE DELIVERY! (I give mine to the driver) The taste is palatable to everyone and they are my go-to-kitchen when time is not on my side. They don't have a so-called "signature dish", not to be confused with best-selling dish, but everything they offer tastes what it should be. Another big plus for me is their prompt service which getting scarce nowadays in the restaurant industry. One of my favorite places to eat for the last 15-20 years since I lived in Arlington and which till today I have NEVER had any issues. I order the same meal from here every time I've ate here for the last 10 years, at least once a month usually more. I called them to tell them the $6 in extra meat total on my ABC teriyaki fried rice was incorrect and they forgot to add extra steak and shrimp (they did add the extra chicken) and the lady pretty much called me a liar and told me I was wrong and that's the correct amount. Lost a life long customer over refusing to admit a simple mistake that I wasn't even upset about just wanted an acknowledgment and a correction next time I came in. read more

From Cooper, you can see the sign for "Optical Concepts." Splendid China's entrance is in that same corner. If you're coming from the south, you'll probably see Splendid China's sign ok. Went for a Sunday lunch with friends. The server was a little rude/ too busy. The dishes we ordered were pretty good and I liked my hot and sour soup. The eggrolls weren't that great, they seemed like frozen and not home made and the other people in my party didn't really like the egg drop soup. Food is fairly good. I normally eat authentic Chinese food (because, duh), but when we can't go far for lunch, our go-to place is usually Panda Delite. Splendid China has a different taste compared to Panda Delite, and I like it a lot. My only concerns are the Crab Rangoon (too American for me in general; that was probably why it tasted so bad) and the egg rolls, which don't taste good at all. Other than that, it's good! read more

This was my own personal experience at Splendid China on 01/15/15. I have been eating at Splendid China for 20 years, no more! I have brought my own tea in a pitcher when I dine in for years, and the staff have never had a problem with this. I was there for dinner, the male owner saw the tea pitcher on my table and very rudely asked me "what is that, wine? I said no, its just tea. He then walked outside looking back at me and the waitress, who was taking my order. I asked my waitress was this a problem? She said "no, he is crazy." Then the male owner came back in, came over to my table and rudely shouted, shaking his finger at me, "you bring your own tea, you bring your own cup." He then walked outside again. I told the waitress that he was rude and that's not the way you treat customers, especially ones that having been coming in at least once a week for 20 years. I got up and left, and will not return. Unless you enjoy being treated like I was , do not go to this business. read more
