It's cozy and warm atmosphere - a place where neurodiverent folks can relax and be particular about their wants. Scarlett Rasor is a goddess of hair. The first words she uttered were "I did a good job" to her previous client, and I immediately relaxed under her confidence. Scarlett understood what I wanted with my spoken likes/dislikes about my hair, and what I wanted to change. She asked leading questions, and created a masterpiece with my cut. 48 hours later - I'm even more in love with my hair. I cannot wait for future visits with her. read more

She was pleasant to talk to, and she is very skilled in her hair cutting and coloring. I will definitely be recommending this salon. The salon is also very conscientious about Covid prevention. Jenny Wills is just the best! She really listened to what I wanted and then improved upon it so much, I've been getting tons of compliments. Mia Bella is the perfect spot for a relaxing hair day, the house is charming and comfortable and the florist shop out back is adorable. TBH though I go there for one reason, Nikki!!! Mia Bella Salon is right in the heart of Sellwood inside a quaint and lovely Victorian with lots of windows and light. Though there are several very nice stylists, I lucked out and found Heather Weddle, whom I've been seeing for about a year now. There's nothing like getting a great haircut! Heather always seems to know how to cut and style my hair, and she's colored my hair three times now, with great success. I always leave with a haircut that looks amazing! Not only is Heather an incredible stylist with over 20 years experience who always makes my hair look a million times better than when I came in, but, she's a great listener and conversationalist who always remembers what we talked about. There's a feeling of ease, peacefulness, and connection, which feels great. I highly recommend Heather! One of the perks of going to Mia Bella, (like other great salons), is that you're offered Aveda tea (which I love), wine or water each time. I always feel well cared for! I found this salon on Yelp and went there because it's near my house and has good reviews. I saw Hallie for the first time last week, and I'm very happy with my haircut. I took a picture with me, showed it to her and we discussed how it might work with my hair. She asked a lot of questions, we talked about what 'look' I wanted, then we started. I felt like she 'got' what I wanted. Hallie has worked in high-end salons in other cities and is a skilled stylist. She's most well known for her coloring techniques, but I just wanted a good cut, which I got. I highly recommend Hallie and the salon. If there were a 6th star possible, it would go to Heather. She is amazing. I've been to her twice while visiting Portland and I'm seriously thinking of booking my trips to Portland to accommodate my hairstyling needs! (Not exaggerating.) Heather does an excellent job of styling my CURLY hair, which is straight in some areas and frizzy in others (she has also recommended great products for the latter so that the frizz is under control). Both times I've seen her, I've left with a cut that was perfectly suited to my quirky hair and, as important, a wash-and-go style that lasted for months and months. During my last visit I sprang for color and highlights. I LOVE the color and have received many compliments on both the cut and the color. I've been coloring my hair for decades -- sometimes for fun but more recently for coverage -- to the point that I no longer remember my natural color. I asked Heather for her thoughts and, after carefully considering my skin tone and eye color, she selected color and highlights that were better than anything I was born with. It is, without a doubt, the best color I have ever had. Not only is she good, but she is very nice and reasonable. She strikes me as a perfectionist who would not let me leave unless she was 100% satisfied with every aspect of my hair style. Two thumbs up! I look forward to my next visit. read more

Stylist was Dana, she said she was new and she seemed sweet and friendly but she didn't listen to what I wanted, on top of that she made racist remarks about African Americans! I left completely unhappy and will never return! I had to go to a different salon so they could tone my hair! The salon physically was actually nice and clean and comfy but I would not recommend this place. read more

I've been seeing Jena for over 10 years now. She is absolutely amazing! She will listen to you and then make your hair much better than what you had planned. She once flat refused to give me a perm....and ohhhhh....was she right! Jena is a beautiful colorist as well. She gives you that gorgeous "I just got done riding my horse on the beach" look without the top $$$ you'd spend elsewhere. She does not charge for therapy- which is still another awesome bonus. The salon itself is gorgeous. It has a little area out front for having a coffee (pick up a cup next door) and has a beautiful interior. It's not your big-box, sell you everything they can-and out the door place. There is also minimal employee turn-over, especially compared to other salons. Once you fall in love with a stylist they won't be missing the next time you drop by. Absolutely a GEM in Portland. PS: Jena, you are AMAZING. read more

She was very professional and didn't push any products or hairstyles that I didn't want. I like that the price they quote the customer includes a wash, cut and dry because that is not always the case with salons. She's an excellent listener, & will either do exactly what you want, or, if you ask for her suggestions, give you a really great, creative cut.
