I've been to Spruzzo several times since my initial review and while I still like the view and the staff - I don't like the food. But first the positives about Spruzzo. It's a great view from the rooftop and the bar and restaurant give off a nice vibe and our waitress was excellent. The problems. The food is not very good. I ordered a $ 24 burger and they wanted to charge me two bucks for onions. It's not the two bucks but the principle - really who does that? I thought a burger automatically comes with pickles and onions - I mean even going to McDonald's a burger comes with onions. The burger was disappointing anyway. A Tuna Poke appetizer was lackluster and forgettable as was a Chicken entree. It seems as if Spruzzo's focus is the money-making bar or the assumption that the view and rooftop dining are enough to bring people in. Spruzzo is a nice restaurant and the staff are great but go just for drinks or better yet do what we did this week - go to Spruzzo for drinks and then head downstairs to Elisabetta's for dinner. read more

If you want to pay $150 for prime rib, not be able to have a conversation and jostle for space with a bunch of kids nursing cocktails at the bar this is the place for you! What a tourist trap: We booked weeks in advance to take some friends here - super excited to try out this popular spot. It was a Saturday night and we were sat next to a green plastic wall where obviously there was a wedding reception on the other side. That was loud enough but progressively through the night the music got louder and louder drowning out all conversation. The menu was super limited with only one non-meat dish - Branzino - which wasn't available and no alternatives were offered. The waiter brought my friend's appetizer out with the entree and when he made a comment the waiter said "that's just what they do". I had a salmon on salad - I wasn't asked how I liked my salmon but if I had been asked I would not have requested overdone and cold - but that's what got. If this had been a mid range chain restaurant it would have been fine but our meal for 4 was over $500. Totally not worth it! I gave it 2 stars because the view is fantastic, but completely wasted on this place. What a disappointment. read more

Very nice rooftop bar/restaurant. Went for my birthday and got a table near the pool which was apparently reserved for those staying at the hotel (I was a walk in) which was super nice. Great experience overall, I don't really remember the food (hence the 4 stars instead of 5, it was probably mid tbh if I can't even remember ) but the drinks were great and the view was gorgeous when I went. Had this one drink (the Rosa martini) that had a frozen ice rose in it, it was so cute. But the ice rose takes up like 50% of the drink, my server brought the extra out in a lil cup so make sure if you order that they bring out two cups and the il lido spritz was amazing. read more

We stayed at The Ben for Valentine's Day and decided to have dinner and drinks at Spruzzo on the rooftop. The drinks were delicious and the food was amazing. My favorite was the Crispy Manchego Cheese Bites, those were the best. I would've ordered two if I knew how incredible they were going to be. The Greek salad was very tasty. My pizza was good but my hubby's skirt steak was better. Overall we had a lovely Valentine's Day dinner and the people watching was fun. A lot of interesting characters; I'll leave it at that. We noticed most people were there for drinks, they are good but pricey. Don't skip on the food! At least get the cheese bites, they won't disappoint. read more

The food and service were subpar. Definitely not worth the money. We drove from Miami to experience this restaurant. The calamari was dry and rubbery (overcooked) and when we sent it back they said they would take it off the bill and never did. The skirt steak was bland and overcooked, the salmon burger was dry bland and also overcooked. The manager never once came over to us to find out why we weren't satisfied with the food. The scenery is beautiful the waitress was very friendly and helpful but the food was horrible . It was very dry and honestly not even edible . I really couldn't even finish my plate . The baba ganoosh doesn't even taste like actual baba ganoosh . The haloomi cheese was so dry and cold like just thrown in a fridge after cooking it and then serving it hours later . The picked vegetable have a weird seasoning the salmon burger was so dry and the dessert was very sub par using some cheap bread as a donut that wasn't even cooked properly . Went for the view and convenience, staying at hotel solo. Got seated right away, however, they tried to seat me in a cabana where the table is knee level. Asked for a different table, which they complied. I had no reservation so I was grateful. I ordered the mahi sandwich which came with shoestring fries. Fish seemed really fresh and the mayo relish had pickled onions and was great on the sandwich. Fries were pretty good as well. Sandwich was $19 and lower end white wine was $13 and a short pour. My wife and I decided to visit Spruzzo for a drink after work on Friday. We knew it had recently opened and I was excited to see this new rooftop bar with a great view of the lake and Palm Beach. First of all, the view did not disappoint. What a great location and smart use of the roof. It was a beautiful evening and we enjoyed it. However, we will likely never return. Why? First of all, the atmosphere is Brickell meets West Palm Beach. Cheap chic and trendy. The demographic is the swarthy and trendy. I suppose if you live up north or in the Mid-West, it's like stepping into a reality TV show. For a local that's been here over 50 years, it has no appeal. The topper was $16 for my wife's margarita and $8 for my local craft beer. Am I looking for two dollar drinks? No, but getting shafted for nearly $30 including tips for a beer and a cocktail is a bit much. For those that have no issue paying stupid prices, park your leased Range Rover out front and take the express elevator upstairs. Just be sure you get an increase on your gold card! read more

We initially went to the rooftop at The Ben simply to take in the breathtaking view and enjoy a couple of cocktails. After a few moments, we decided to ditch our regular plans and enjoy dinner overlooking the beautiful scene. I'll start by saying the food was amazing! Although mine was a little bit heavy on the minced garlic, which to me is a no no. The hostess and the manager were also amazing, accommodating our last minute requests with congeniality and making sure we were attended to...... Buuuut, the actual wait staff, on both sides, seemed to be half asleep, stoned or simply absent from the scene lol.... Once our order was taken, there was no coming back to check on us, no asking how everything was, no inquiring if we'd like more drinks etc.... I had to get up to go to another table to retrieve a salt and pepper shaker. We were trying to figure out if there was a secret hiding place in the kitchen where everyone was stowed away until it was time to either take an order or bring someone their check But as I said, the manager and the hostess were very much on the scene and 100% on top of making sure everyone was having a very good time So that, coupled with the great food and the unparalleled view will definitely have us heading back there soon. In fact, this review would've been five stars if it weren't for lack of interest by our bar/wait staff. *NOTE: This isn't a dealbreaker, but considering the reputation of The Ben, I was shocked at the shabby condition of the tables & chairs at Spruzzo, specifically the bar area. I've been to burger shacks in better condition. The paint on all the tables was peeling horribly and not in a 'shabby chic coastal' kinda way. We then asked to be seated and asked for the bill and it was $40 with tax. After a tip, 2 drinks were $46....(cosmo $22, house wine $16).
