The crust had a wonderfully crisp undercarriage, and everything tasted fresh. Our table was clean and comfortable, and there was a steady flow of customers throughout our visit. Wow wow wow Not in a good way…read more... How do you buy one of the best pizza places within miles and turn it into this? You changed the sauce, the crust and the cheese! You had the best, must flavorful crust with the nicest sauce around and topped with great high quality cheese. You even had tomato slices in the sauce, under the cheese. This tastes like something from the freezer section at the store. The dinner salad is still pretty good but that only goes so far. If you need to raise prices, do so, but cutting out the quality ingredients that made you the best pizza around for more than 25 years was just not smart move. We have absolutely no reason to ever come back here again, to a place we've always loved.... Very sad (I've never left pizza on a plate here)

We went on a Tuesday around 2:00 PM (they close at 3:00 PM), which ended up being the ideal time. Our waiter was amazing--he gave top-tier service and let us know that weekends get super packed with long wait times and louder music. Going on a weekday was definitely the right move, and I'll stick to weekday visits for sure! As for the food and drinks--everything was delicious! You have to try the mimosa flight. My honest review with details... after a long road trip & coming home, we were starving, and it was Valentine's Day, so finding Italian to go was a challenge. So I found Spuntino's & called to place a to-go order. The first call, I was asked to "call back 10-15min before pick up." So I waited and called back. They asked me to pay over the phone, and the total was surprisingly high for what I ordered. There were NO Prices on the online menu, so a bit uneasy about that, I paid the hefty cost. On arrival, our order wasn't ready (even though they asked me to wait to order). They were busy, due to the unofficial holiday. So I didn't get a whole lot of super friendly vibes. Just so so customer service really. I finally found out the prices of my food & how everything was an up charge (which wasn't told to me on the phone, or online). As for the presentation and taste of the food: The lasagna could've used more meat, but I didn't have high expectations to begin with with no picture online. The meatball sandwich was small for the price, and the meatballs were cut in 1/2. I added extra marinara (which was charged at $3.50 for a small cup.) I thought that was a bit pricey, as the sandwich definitely could've used more sauce & was not "large or 12" like it said on their menu." The chicken Alfredo had some tiny pieces of chicken, and not enough sauce. But my daughter liked it. The real prize winner was the meat lovers pizza & the chocolate cannoli. The meat on the pizza was high quality, and excellent flavor. The chocolate cannoli was a nice spin on a fan favorite, but way overpriced for the small size. All in all, I liked the atmosphere of this place. They had some fun Italian items for sale. But the price of food left me wanting to go to a more upscale Italian restaurant in the future. $10 desserts The chicken for the fettuccini was charged @ an extra $5... otherwise I would've paid $20.50 for just noodles & sauce! The meatball sub was a whopping $19.50 with the added sauce. For a local wide open concept diner, the prices are too high to return for the pastas or sandwiches. I believe they should be more transparent on their menu online & add prices. The upfront staff could be a little more friendly when answering the phone and greeting customers (and maybe don't count out their tips in front of a waiting customer). My husband and I visited Sputino's last Friday after hearing good things about their food, and wow... we were impressed from the start. We went for dine-in service and had Tori as our server. When we arrived, it had a very casual, seat-yourself kind of vibe but don't let that fool you. The service was outstanding. Tori explained the specials, all of which sounded delicious, but we came specifically to try their pizza. We started with a Caesar salad to share and... YUM. The dressing was flavorful, the fresh shaved Parmesan was perfect, and it was honestly one of the better Caesar salads we've had in a while. Then came the pizza, a large half pepperoni / half Hawaiian. Absolutely amazing. The dough tasted fresh and full of flavor, cooked in that amazing fire oven we can see from our table and all the toppings were fresh and delicious too. We were so impressed that we decided to come back again tonight for our next Friday date night. This time, instead of pizza, we tried their pasta dishes and specials. I ordered their beef tip pasta special and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was one of the most flavorful pasta dishes I've ever had. Tender beef tips, mushrooms, sautéed veggies, and sauce tossed perfectly with pasta. I was in heaven, especially paired with a glass of Sangiovese recommended by our delightful server Joey. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, and he loved it too, which says a lot because spaghetti is his favorite dish and he's pretty picky about it. Oh... and I almost forgot the appetizer. We tried their fried pizza dough topped with pepper and salt and somehow managed to finish the entire basket. Oops. But honestly, that just tells you how good it was. I recently visited Spuntino Pizzeria in Temecula after hearing a few good things about it, and I have to say, I wasn't disappointed. The restaurant itself is pretty small and tucked away in the back of a strip mall, so it took me a moment to find it. But once I walked in, I noticed how clean and cozy it felt. The vibe was relaxed and welcoming--nothing fancy, just comfortable. From my seat, I could see the big pizza oven glowing in the corner, which instantly gave me that "this is going to be good" feeling. I ordered a pizza made just the way I like it, loaded with my favorite toppings, along with a sandwich to see how their bread held up. The pizza came out hot and fresh, with that perfect balance of crispy crust and melty cheese that you only get from a proper stone oven. Every bite tasted like it had been made with care, not rushed or generic. The sandwich was pretty good too, though I felt it could've used a better dressing to bring the flavors together--still solid overall. The only hiccup was the service, which was a little on the slow side, but since it looked like there was just one server handling everything, I couldn't really complain. She was friendly and doing her best to keep up. Prices were a bit on the higher side, but considering the quality, it felt fair. Just so i don't feel guilty writing what I think - i will say that my friends that got past all this crap listed below and actually ate here said the food itself was good even though it took forever to get it and the service was beyond crappy... BUT this was MY one-star experience - - menu is okay, but not as expensive as everyone else says it is. and it was hot as hell in there! - finally get to the front of the line - right off the bat, it's the worst service. my guess is these high school girls who don't want to be there so they don't care how they treat the customers. - once i got the girls attention, i asked for a foot-long spicey Italian sub sandwich - they're out of the meats that you can make this sandwich with. - so then i try to order a foot-long regular Italian sub - they are out of foot-long bread. - so THEN i figure we can order TWO 6-inch REGULAR italian subs for the price of a foot-long since essentially that is what I'm ordering! And she says "uh no we can't do that." I ask why and she says "uh our owner won't let us." and rolls her eyes! Walked out and went to SUBWAY next door and had a delicious FOOT-LONG SPICEY italian sub for less than half the price of what she was going to charge me for the same thing. This place has been our go to pizza place for years. The one thing that I can say consistently is customer service isn't their "thing", but their food has always made up for it. Well folks, that is no longer the case. I don't know what happened but since the fire their food isn't any good. The calamari is the only thing that is good, and you can't run a restaurant with bad customer service on good calamari. The pizza was not just flavorless, it was bad. We added chicken to it and it tasted like dry 3-day old chunks of chicken. We had to pick the chicken (we paid $3 for) off to be able to try and eat it. I recently stopped by this Italian spot and had such a great experience. As soon as we walked in, we were able to seat ourselves, which added to the relaxed and welcoming vibe! The layout included a semi-open kitchen with a visible fire pit, so you could actually see the chefs cooking, which was a cool touch that made the place feel even more authentic. The menu had a ton of great options--pizza, pasta, salads--you name it. We ordered the vegetarian pizza, and it was loaded with colorful, flavorful veggies and had the perfect crisp on the crust. The calamari was golden and crispy with a rich marinara sauce on the side, and the fettuccine was creamy, simple, and satisfying. The food came out fast, and the staff were consistently friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Wow, as a true pizza fanatic whose had Pizza from the bottom rung to the top I have to say that this is one the best in all the I.E, if not the best. I had the Margherita (which is the best way to gauge a place's pizza IMO) and it was great. Thin, the sauce was just right in every way, the cheese was just greasy enough and it had oregano as opposed to the standard basil. But what really sets it apart is the oven which it is baked in. I've yet to see any other establishment in SoCal which uses a true brick oven which has such a seasoning to it. It;s just no comparison to your standard pizza oven elsewhere. And this place is not just a restaurant but a deli as well. They also sell Italian meats, cheeses, pastas, wines, snacks, beers etc. on top of the actual restaurant menu. And with that, we were there on a Sunday night, it was busy but the staff was hospitable and speedy. Doesn't get much better. I'll be back for sure, anyone should give this place a try. read more

Way too overpriced and VERY small servings to add insult to injury! $14.50 for a small plate of penne pasta is ridiculous and $6 for a very small sausage is also ridiculous The menu doesn't tell you that they add a lot extra for gluten free, $3.50 surcharge for an $11 pasta. You just find out when you get the bill and then they say, "you should have know." In their favor, after I complained they took it off the bill, but tried to act like I should have know better. We got the pizza with Prosciutto crudo, rucola, shaved parmiggiano, fresh tomato, oregano. It was like a salad on a pizza. Small was $16 and it was plenty for the man and I to share. The garlic bread was really not worth it at all--very disappointing, but the rest made up for it. Their wine selection looked outstanding, but I was just too full of wine already--I could not abide any more. Perhaps next time I will skip the wineries and drink here instead. This is the worst place ever! I will never ever go back here and I will tell all my friends and family not to ever eat here again. They made me a soggy pizza to go and didn't even show it to me! When i called and told them they told me to bring it back well when i got there they were very rude to me! They told me they would make me a small cheese pizza but i refused I paid good money for them to give me an awful pizza. The cook wanted me to bring the pieces that the kids threw away in trash. I really enjoyed my visit here. I ordered the 6" spicy italian sub and a slice of the pepperoni pizza. The sub tasted great, chain sub restaurants like Subway simply can't compete with Spuntinos when it comes to quality. As for the pizza, it is very flavorful and seasoned perfectly. When it comes to the pizza crust, a lot of people have stated that it is soft and chewy and that is definitely the case. If you want your crust like most other people places then make sure you ask them to cook it well done, otherwise it is going to feel almost raw in comparison. My girlfriend and I live close by, and we decided to have dinner here. We both got to briefly meet the owner. When we tried to spark up a friendly conversation, he unexpectedly seemed very rude and blew us off. I was almost in a temporary state of shock. I grew up in an Italian family, so maybe I was spoiled with quality Italian food. However, the pizza I bought was not good at all. Not only was the pizza burnt, but it had no taste. We ordered the Garlic Cheese Flatbread, Eggplant Parmigiana Shoots, the Spicy Meatball Pizza, a tap beer, and a Sangria. This came out to a little over $100 total. There was little to say about the shoots, which tasted good, but more in the way that fast food tastes good, as they were a bit over fried and lacked much flavor on their own without the accompanying sauces. The Garlic Cheese Flatbread and Spicy Meatball Pizza were both very tasty, but unfortunately the experience was stained by the high prices which made it more difficult to enjoy them for what they were. The Sangria was not very good, though that may be a matter of personal taste, and the beer was one I knew I liked so it, of course, was what I expected. I did not have a bad time here, and wouldn't say it is not worth going to, but for my taste and the overall experience I had, I would likely not return again. However, I do want to end on a positive note, which was that if you do go, the pizzas are incredibly fresh and delicious, and although a bit oily, are definitely worth ordering, but I would skip the appetizers entirely.
