Strong recommendation for Roger Cornavaca at Stability Hearing and Air. In the midst of our last heat wave, our AC fan stopped working. I selected Stability because he's local and had consistently good reviews. He answered my call right away and came out the next morning at 8. Both days he had to come out he was on time. His truck was well supplied and he was tidy doing his work. He assessed the situation as a bad capacitor which he had with him. He noticed the fan motor was leaking oil so I had him replace it since it was 18 years old although he said it might last awhile longer. By then I trusted Roger. He called 4 places to find an original new motor and drove a long way to get it. He arrived the next morning on time. He made sure the unit was holding coolant pressure and gave it a thorough inspection and cleaning inside and outside. Roger explained my options, costs and the process. Of course as soon as we turn our heat on this winter it didn't work. Our landlord called Roger but he didn't have availability for 2 weeks. In the interim another company came to fix the issue which only resolved the problem for 4 days. We ended up waiting another week for Roger to come and I'm glad we did. Not only did he restore our heat, he wore shoe covers (which I am so appreciative of as the other company did not), and he swept up the small mess that was made before he left - both inside and outside! I was very impressed and satisfied with our experience with Stability Heating and Air. From the first phone call to get a quote for a package unit A/C "tune-up" to the completion of the job, Roger was professional, courteous, and clearly knowledgeable. He arrived a few minutes early to ensure he could arrive at our door right on time and was even polite enough to wait in his van until the scheduled time so as not to disturb us. I decided to start my research for furnaces by visiting Ferguson Enterprises since a friend of mine who distributes Trane products in Louisiana said they were excellent. Of course he is biased but a quick online search confirmed his claim. A Ferguson representative introduced me to Roger who happened to be shopping. After receiving Trane brochures from the store Roger showed me photos of his work and stated that he would be happy to give me an estimate after he finished shopping. Of all the estimates I received, Roger's was the most comprehensive and walked me through areas where he thought he could add additional value beyond just replacing our aging furnace. After I described my issues with the old furnace, Roger described what would make the greatest impact and built my quote around those suggestions. He is also very proud of his work and his excitement shows when he shows you pictures off of his ipad. On installation day, Roger placed tarps wherever he needed to step and was very careful in removing my old equipment from the attic. At the end of the day, Roger is very conscientious about cleaning up and organizing his work area. Construction being what it is, I still vacuumed after he left since I wanted to make sure I got as much of the attic insulation as possible. I ended up installing a Trane XT80 furnace, adding a new vent in my living room and replacing all the ducting and register vents. The old furnace was oversized, not properly secured and had leaks at each vent that attached to the plenum. The old ducting was laid across the attic and looked disorganized. Roger suspended the furnace and ducting from the roof which opened up the attic and made a large platform that could be used to service the furnace. Roger's price was very reasonable when compared to the competition after considering their quotes only included the furnace replacement. The new furnace is extremely quite. Roger took extra steps to make the return ducting longer and added rubber bumpers from where he suspended the furnace to reduce noise. I highly recommend Roger for his honesty and experience. He does accept credit cards but passes his transaction fee that he is charged back to the customer. read more

Professional installation of a furnace in our home. Would recommend Roger for heating.

With temperatures in the nineties, my AC suddenly went out. It's an older unit, installed 13 years ago. I called around and was told everyone was too busy to come out for a week or longer and it would cost me at least $100 to make the trip. Roger at Stability however made a quick trip over within the hour to give me a free estimate. He quickly identified the problem. Instead of trying to sell me a whole new unit, he showed me how the old drain pan under the evaporator coil in the attic was leaking into the secondary (backup) water collection pan, causing the unit to automatically shut down. Given the age of the unit, and my financial situation, he suggested I could simply remove the cutoff switch and redo the plumbing to route the water out of the secondary pan to the drainage system. That would avoid the cost of replacing the indoor assembly. Good enough until I do replace the whole system in a few years. I tried to pay him for his time, but he refused. Instead, he said to remember him when it came time to replace the unit. I will. What a prince among men! read more

This is a delayed review of work that Roger Cornavaca and Stability Heating did in replacing a furnace and old flex ducting. Roger's bid was well toward the low-end and his statement of work clear and understandable. Any questions were answered in detail and it is apparent that he understands the trade very well and is equipped to provide options and trade-offs with regard to equipment and installation. He provided a new 2-stage furnace and all new flex ducting with multi-adjustable registers. He removed the old in-attic furnace, made some changes to the mounting for sound isolation and ran duct to some difficult areas of access. He explained the purpose of doing things a certain way and relocated registers for better heat distribution. In all aspects of the job, he was meticulous and sensitive to our concerns and questions. He cleaned up each day and left the jobsite in good condition. He did a few things out of the scope of work with out charge. Though this work was performed in September of 2017 and he warrants installation for a year, he came by today to make some tweaks to the air distribution by adjusting dampers and registers and making recommendations to optimize the furnace performance. The furnace carries the standard manufacturer's warranty. We are quite pleased overall with our updated heating system and would unconditionally recommend Roger and his team. read more

Roger and his assistant last month replaced my 30 year old a/c unit and furnace. When Roger came to my home to do an estimate, he explained everything in detail and showed me all the options and did not pressure me to anything. I had 3 previous estimates from 2 mayor stores and another small company and they were all over-priced, did not explain the details, did not make any measurements and did not give me options for my units to be more efficient. I felt as though these companies were just interested in the commission and tried to pressure me to sign a contract the same day. When Roger from Stability Heating and Air quoted me for the job I was extremely shocked at how resonable his prices were and I told him twice are you sure that is the price for everything and he explained that there were no hidden fees and his work was guaranteed. After looking at all my options, I knew that Roger was the right guy for the job and showed me his credentials for the past 15 years and all the residential and commercial work he has done. I strongly believe that every unit will work exceptional in any home but what really matters is the installation of your units, this person has to be highly qualified and provide quality work too and I knew after discussing all our options that Roger was going to do the job right especially with the whole relocation of our units. After accepting Rogers offer with no hidden or extra fees I loved all the extras he put into this job to make sure my units were going to be at their best performance and he relocated the units as they should have been in the first place and did not charge me extra as the other companies would have. Roger was always on time for the job, cleaned up after himself, and worked on the job like he was working on his own home. Roger made us feel like he was family and I knew I can trust him and his crew as I had to run errands throughout the days. If Roger felt there was going to be any hiccups in the attic of putting certain vents or pipes that needed to be moved, he always gave us more than one option to accommodate for the unforeseen work. All I have to say is Stability HVAC is LEGIT. Prior to calling Stability, out of desperation (for 1 month it was so cold in my home I had all four kitchen burners on), I called a random HVAC company out of telephone book to come out. They were 6 hours late!! And quoted me a price into the thousands!! And before doing any legitimate troubleshooting, stated that I needed a new furnace. They used a scare tactic stating that my furnace was old, that it would emit deadly CO2. Not cool. Not feeling good about any of that, I looked on Yelp and found Stability HVAC. Spoke to Roger, who was super nice. Over the phone, I had good feelings about him. I've been relying on the feels lately and they haven't let me down. Not only that, he was able to see me the same day and was on time! Can't overstate how being on time here in Los Angeles/Southbay is so important. That made me feel even better. Roger came out. Roger is top notch! This past winter our heater went out. I called Stability, unbeknownst to me that Roger, the owner, picked up the phone at 6:30 PM on a Friday night and was willing to come out and check my furnace by 8:00 PM that night! Who does that!? I was in awe at his commitment. Roger showed up early the next day, performed a thorough inspection, gave me plenty of options and answered all of my questions. My instinct said go with him immediately. He could have installed a new furnace within a day or two. Sadly, I contacted two large companies to get additional estimates, thinking I'm doing proper due diligence. Their visits were the following week. The first appointment was a NO-SHOW! When I called the office, the tech said he would be about an hour late. Still, an hour later no one came. I cancelled the appointment. What a waste of my time and my house was still cold! I was referred to Stability heating and air by a couple of reputable guys in the hvac industry. After contacting Roger from Stability for a free proposal on a 2 ton unit for my home. I was sold within the first 5 minutes of Roger's explanation and science on how a proper system would be beneficial for my home. Prior to having Stability over.
