Even better showing Checked out Stacey's for lunch since I've seen some different menu items on Instagram. Tried the bulgogi with fried rice, veggie spring rolls, gyro, and ribs. The bulgogi was a ton of food, a full container's worth. Getting through it took a lot. It was well seasoned and had great flavor. The spring rolls were pretty good, even better with the dipping sauce that comes with them. The ribs were great, though they had a lingering soy sauce flavor I found odd. the gyro was also tasty with some different things on it than I am used to. There were blue cheese crumbles and banana peppers on it along with the usual gyro fixins. Made for a dynamic bite. Still have to try the korean burrito so I will be back. read more

A Korean pulled-pork sandwich, served up by Stacey's African-American chef/owner and his white right-hand man. That's real fusion, not the nonsense food you find in fancy Short North restaurants. The sauce was a tad sweet, but the pork was nice and tender, and the pickled cabbage salad (the Korean part of the sandwich?) gave it a nice bright acidic touch. It would have been nice on a heartier roll, but for $5, how can you complain? Here's hoping I run into them again. read more

Of all the food trucks to try in Columbus, maybe put this one a little lower on the priority list. It's Korean-meets-comfort-food-fusian, which is a cool concept. The truck looks pretty fun, and the people are so nice. Still, in Columbus when you see "Korean" and "Food truck" -- it has the particular challenge of being better than Ajumama. I had the pork taquitos with a side of the asian slaw. Taquitos were not as flavorful as I was expecting. They came with a side of dipping sauce that was too syrupy-sweet for my taste. The side of slaw seemed to be dressed in the same too-sweet concoction. Overall, too much fried and too much of the same-note sweetness. That said, though, given the right circumstances, I might try Stacey's again. I wouldn't seek it out, though. There are certainly other items on the menu to explore-- but also other food trucks to give a whirl. Prices are great though, so it might just hit the spot for those of you who like sweeter foods. read more

I ordered food from here after attending a yelp event nearby and I was very pleased. I had the Korean burrito (Ko-Bo, as it's referred to by staff) and it was pretty good. It took a small while for me to get used to the kimchi and other Korean-inspired ingredients in a burrito framework but it was quite enjoyable once I got over the mental confusion. And prices are pretty cheap too, which I was pleasantly surprised by. S5DH staff members were very nice. Very laid back and they bring you your order once it's ready so you don't have to stand around waiting for it. They did not have enough change when we gave them a $20 bill for our meal so maybe go to this food truck well stocked with $1's. I think they take debit/credit cards too BUT, I will say, they lost power right after my order. They were able to get it back on after a few seconds but that made me a little hesitant to depend solely on plastic for future orders. read more

Honestly, kind of a mixed bag. I tried the truck while they were at Zauber brewing (they also provided food for an event there, but I was ordering well before that for myself) and they were working to train up some new staff, so I wasn't shocked that there were a few issues with getting my order in. I tried their Korean pulled pork taco, and I actually liked the flavors, though I didn't get a huge hit of anything that really made me think of a Korean dish as opposed to an Asian influenced one, but I noticed the tortilla chips that came with it were a bit underseasoned and overcooked. I also tried the Korean Fried Chicken, and while the sweet and spicy peanut sauce that came with it was great (and had a nice kick of Gochujang in there), I found the chicken itself a bit underwhelming. The breading had a strong crunch, but not too much additional flavor, and the meat was very dry - if it hadn't been for the sauce (and, if I'm honest, the fact that I hadn't eaten since 11am that day), I'm not sure I would have finished it. I'm not sure if it was a case of accidental overcooking or just their fryer running a bit too hot (seems possible with the way the chips came out), but either way it wasn't great. I will say that a lot of the samples they provided for the event a few hours later were better, and people really seemed to enjoy them. I thought the mac and cheese balls in particular were pretty great, but that really isn't a compelling reason to make me head back. Maybe (hopefully!) I just caught them at a rough point, and things improved over the rest of the night, and perhaps if I do run into them again things will go a bit better. read more

The truck was in Circleville tonight and the wife and I had always wanted to try the food. We got a Steak Freak sandwich with kimchi and an order of mac and cheese balls. Absolutely nothing about either dish was in any way appetizing. The meat in the sandwich was at least 1/3 gristle. In nearly every bite there was a piece of unchewable junk I had to spit out. I was a trooper and made it through 8 bites, looking for a bright spot in the darkness. Even though the meat was in a large part gristle, there wasn't much meat, even for the $2 upcharge for beef. There was too much fried tofu and I'd substituted kimchi for the slaw, and there was barely any of that to be found. I threw 3/4 of a sandwich in the trash...and I'm loathe to waste food. There are too many hungry people in the world to waste anything. It made me sad to throw it away, but it really wasn't worth eating. On to the Mac and Cheese balls. They were surprisingly large and had us intrigued, but the visual was the only good thing about them. The only thing you taste when taking a bite is basil...basil...and more basil. I hate...hate basil. The next flavor was red pepper flakes and after that, "fried". There was truly no discernible cheese flavor. I'm sure the coyotes between Circleville and Columbus will find these...maybe they'll like them, we sure didn't. It took almost 20 minutes to get our order, as it appeared the guys behind the counter were clueless on the process on how to work a truck. Also, if your employees are going to smoke, have them go far enough away from the vehicle as to not gross out the customers with their disgusting habit. I was really hoping this truck was going to be great. I'm all about supporting the local food scene, especially trucks. You guys work hard for what you get. However, I can *NOT* recommend this truck I absolutely adore Korean food. I was hoping to find a cheaper way to get a fix than going up to Henderson/Reed for Restaurant Silla, unfortunately, I'm still looking. read more

IT WAS JUST KINDA WHACK Yeah, not gonna sugar coat this. I already knew the food was going suffer when i saw the audacious art on the truck. The logo looks like a cotton candy, skittles, and bubblicious smoothie/diarrhea. AND THE FOOD? I'm not gonna rant about the food being too sh*tty, because it did hold me over until dinner, but that's really all it did. Ultimately the food is just some nonsense i could whip up at home. I had some korean-bbq-burrito-slaw-blahblah-whateve and it was just mediocre at best. CONCEPTUALLY INEPT They call it korean fusion, but I call it Korean disrespect. Everything comes with fries. No healthy options - They got burgers, grilled chicken, some stupid huge sandwich called the freak with a bunch CRAP on it. I find it ridiculous to pass this off as "Korean fusion". Oh, you got some Sri-Racha and a slaw recipe? - whoopty doo... Come on guys... HOW COMPELLING Lasty, I wouldn't be here sh*tting on this place if I didn't read one of the owner's responses to a review. Some poor patron made the mistake of associating the words "comfort-food" with this lame truck, and one of the foolish owners writes a BULLHEADED response claiming he's been subjected to RACISM. Seriously GTFOH. Dude, your knee-jerk reaction and fundamentally incorrect response to one of YOUR CUSTOMERS is a true indication of your buffoonery and insecurity. So glad to see the truck move to Circleville. Finally a place to get a late night meal after the bar. Conveniently located next to Tootle's Pumpkin Inn and allowed to be carried into the bar which previously had no food options. I've tried the Chicken Korean Burrito, Hillbilly Steak Sandwich, Pulled Pork and The Little Freak so far and all are top notch. Will be back anytime I'm in Circleville and will miss it when it's gone. read more

I noticed the truck when driving down Kenny the other day, and absolutely knew I had to make a pilgrimage there once I googled the menu. Boy am I glad I did! It's refreshing to try something innovative and new, and the Super Freak just hit the spot. I seriously can't recommend it enough! wow, what a good meal, I don't often admit this but i really am into that juicy cream! slurp, slurp, slurp, i love that juice, here it comes. I ordered a meal and let me tell you it was piping hot and after i had mixed it all up and begun to insert it into my feeding tube i was feeling pretty riled up. I had the Korean burrito and seasoned fries--a hearty lunch for $6. The burrito was very tasty--sweet and a little spicy--with tender pork and crunchy slaw. They often park on OSU West Campus, which is convenient for me to run over and pick up a quick lunch. I will definitely stop again. read more

While perusing Twitter a couple of weeks ago, I came across the page for Stacey's 5 Dollar Hollar. The food "looked" great! I told the owner, Marq, that if his food tastes as good as it looks, I'll come check it out. He assured me that it was and I figured, what the heck, let's take a shot. So, on a cold, Saturday afternoon, I drove down to Lane Ave. and there it was. A pretty cool looking foodtruck known as Stacey's 5 Dollar Hollar. Marq was more than gracious. He invited me on the truck to talk shop and explain to me his vision for his business, it's growth opportunities, and of course, provide me with some of what I hoped would be very tasty grub. I tried both, "The Freak" and "Korean Burrito". First, let's chat about the Korean Burrito. It contains pulled pork or your choice of meat, kimchi, fried rice, Asian cole slaw, and a few other ingredients. In a word, it was fantastic! Fantabulous, even! An explosion of different, yet complimentary flavors only begins to tell the tale. The burrito was large and in charge and and I'll definitely try it again! Now, on to The Freak. Again, it contains your choice of meat, cheese, fries, Asian cole slaw, onions, and bacon. Yes, that's right, it has fries and bacon on it! Could a dude who loves good food ask for anything more? Not this cat. The Korean Burrito was very good. The Freak was marvelously delicious!! I had the 12-inch version. How anyone can eat the 24-inch version is beyond me, but more power to you! Anyway, again, a lot of complimentary, and pleasing flavors, just like the Korean Burrito. My only regret is that I don't live closer to Stacey's 5 Dollar Hollar, because I'd be there more often. Nevertheless, the distance won't keep me from visiting from time to time. In addition to serving great grub, Marq's a good man. He's as good of a conversationalist as he is a cook and he has a couple of decade's worth of professional cooking experience. He's got a good sense of humor and is a friendly dude. I enjoyed shooting the breeze with him as much as I did his food. And did I mention how great the food is? I did? Well, I'm saying it again! Great food at a great price! Do yourself a favor. Yeah so it just plain wasn't good. Too salty for my tastes and just plain slimy for lack of a better word. I usually love food trucks and the unique takes they do for food but I just couldn't finish my dish. Sorry guys just not up to par with what I'm used to. read more
