I liked the many unique takes on the burger concept. Lots of interesting ideas. Theres a surprising amount of peanut butter on the menu so if that's a sensitive allergy, make sure to communicate it. I had the banh mi burger and would happily have it again. The Waitstaff was kind. There was the option to eat indoors or outdoors under umbrellas. Nothing about the atmosphere was groundbreaking or memorable, but I liked that this place is RIGHT NEXT to the theater so it's great for pre or post movie bites. read more

We were spending the day in point defiance park and stopped in here just to get a drink. But, it was happy hour, and we couldn't resist the happy hour apps, so we ordered a few (crispy Brussel sprouts, buffalo calamari, and green papaya lettuce wrap with chicken) I also accompanied my snacks with the blueberry smash drink off the happy hour menu. Which was refreshing and just the right amount of sweet. The apps were so good. I'm actually really surprised this place doesn't have better reviews after being here. The staff was very attentive and friendly, the drinks were strong but palatable, and the food was very unwise and delicious, My favorite was the buffalo calamari, with a celery blue cheese carrot slaw, which really added freshness and crunch to the spicy sauces calamari. The Brussel sprouts were really interesting that they breaded them before they deep fried them, but why were cooked perfectly and the bacon relish and harissa really complimented them. The lettuce wraps were a bit soggy but the meat was very flavorful. We finished our experience off with their whiskey of the month with a pickle back. We upgraded our fries to poutine, cause fries with bacon, gravy, and cheese just sounded too good to pass up on this chilly afternoon. They were good! Salty, smoky, cheesy deliciousness! Have these! The burger - 571 with sharp white cheddar- was just perfect. It was juicy, and flavorful. Love the marinated tomato- adds another flavor layer that is unique. They have a lot of local Hawaiian influences which made me pretty happy They have "spikeable" milkshakes!!! I didn't get one though, because the flavors were too over the top for me. I wanted something classic like vanilla (personal preference). I got the pulled pork sliders and gorgonzola fries. It was happy hour when we went, so the items were SLIGHTLY discounted. I really like this place! Perfect location, great pricing, amazing food, & even better drinks! My friend & I discovered this lil gem last year when they first opened. We have come back quite a few times. Everything on the menu is delicious! The brussel sprouts, chicken lettuce wraps, milkshakes, waffle fries, buffalo calamari, burgers, etc. It just doesn't disappoint. They have something for whatever you may be craving. The chicken lettuce wraps are always my go to meal. For their burgers, they have gluten free buns & many different sauces. If given the option, I always order my burgers medium well. That first bite put me in a coma and after I came back to reality, I couldn't stop eating. I was enjoying it so much you would think I'm filming a commercial for the restaurant with my exaggerated "mmmm"s and eyes rolling back as that top quality burger meat made its way down my throat. We were down at the waterfront and decided to grab dinner, so stopped by here. We all ordered burgers, except for one got the salmon sandwich. I got the Three Pepper Bomb burger, and it was good. The burgers do not come with sides, so we ordered the Parmesan Truffle Fries and the Beer Battered Onion Rings. We didn't totally love these sides. We would have preferred the fries to be crispier, and the onion rings were way too greasy for us. But I did like that they came with a variety of dipping sauces. read more

Serving up gourmet style burgers, the burgers were stacked, cleverly garnished and super juicy. I ordered the three pepper burger which was their spiciest burger on the menu and it was delicious. The burger was juicy and cooked to the temperature I requested, the bread held its integrity and wasn't soggy and the fries. Oh my gosh the fries, we had to put in an order for parmesan truffle fries as the burgers didn't come with a side and they were fabulous. Crispy, hot and served with three sauces that complimented the fries so well. The burgers themselves range from about $11 to $14 dollars and sides of fries are around $5. Drinks are pretty pricey at $5 for a soda and around $7 for a milkshake. While the food is good, be warned of how quickly your bill will climb.. read more

My wife attempted today to go to Burger stacks 571 in Ruston Way. Melissa the manager on duty, refused her entry because her dog did not have a certificate to prove it was a service dog. This is not required by Washington or by federal law. My wife attempted to reiterate that the certificate was not needed but was refused entry. My wife has a licensed service dog for her disability this is a disgusting act and it violates her civil rights. I believe this establishment needs to be retrained in The laws regarding service dogs. read more

I really want to like this place. I really do. My final waitress was a doll. We went through 4 or 5 different people waiting on us, or bringing food and drink. So. Let's start at the beginning. My party of three walked in the door among a dozen waiting people. Several people walked in behind us and as we were trying to find out if there was open bar seating they placed other people on the wait list before even stating yea or no. I thought that was rather rude. They never did answer my question so we walked into the bar to ask a waitress who said yes. There are private tables as well as group seating. Meaning you can seat at a high table with other patrons not part of your party. It took about 10 minutes to get water and order our drinks. It took 20 minutes for our drinks to make it to our table. It took 25 minutes to get our order in. Waiting for a refill water was also like wrangling a wild boar. A chore. We reordered drinks before our meal ever arrived, that should tell you how long it took. We waited 28 min for our food to make it to our table. It sat under the heat lamps for a good ten minutes. And this is fact we watched it sit there. The kitchen is right at the front entrance, open to every customer as they walk by. I'm not a fan of that. Your food is sitting open right at the entrance. Mmmmeeh. The public shouldn't be able to access your food. Just my opinion. All of the drinks ordered were underwhelming. I expect to have some alcohol in my drink when I pay the high prices they charge for their drinks. One beer cost between $6.95 and $7.50. A Moscow Mule cost $13. That's pretty extravagantly high. Considering this is on Ruston Way and it is a huge tourist and now condo hub I shouldn't have been surprised. We ordered a regular burger, an order of waffle fries, calamari, oyster mushrooms and the Bàhn Mì burger wrapped in lettuce. The regular burger was tasty and cooked medium. Oyster mushrooms were excellent, the waffle fries were cooked perfectly and they have three different sauces to come with them that complemented them very well. Calamari was not over done and it tasted very good. It had a slight heat to them so for the sensitive palette you may want to pass on them but I found them to be pretty good. My burger on the other hand was raw. I have pictures to post on that one. I had mine wrapped in lettuce and even though they offer that I've been to other places that truly know how to wrap a burger and lettuce. I cannot tell you the flavor of this burger that I was really excited for because it was raw. We did flag down our waitress and they did take it back without complaint. My waitress made sure to comp The burger. And immediately the manager came to our table and apologized and made sure to comp my burger and all of the sides. So I have to say that the customer service on that end was spectacular.and I have NO complaints on that at all. We were there for an hour and a half and the overall experience was lackluster. Even with the comp on the bill was almost $83!! They took approx $32 off my bill, if they hadn't we would have been looking at $115 for three people. That's pretty high. read more

Food was cold, burnt and salty. I ordered a burger with the sauce on the side. No sauce when my burger arrived. Ok no big deal... " waitress can I get my side of sauce"? Sure! After waiting 15 minutes for the sauce I gave up and ate half of my burger dry. Got the other half to go so I could put mayo on it at home. The bun to my burger was totally black. Yuck. We also ordered 2 shots of Petrone tequila with lime and salt. 1 shot came with lime and salt.... the other came with nothing ok... "waitress can I get lime and salt"? Went to use the bathroom before leaving to walk next door and see a movie. The bathroom was horrific.. garbage overflowing all over the floor. Sink was dirty. What the heck.. my bill for 3 burgers, fries and 2 shots was over $80 I don't mind spending that kind of money on a good dinner.. BUT this was a real I waited over a year to try Stack again. Things have changed quite a bit. Seems like they are now properly staffed. I sat right away at the bar. A nice waitress named Candice helped me choose my burger. Mushroom burger was the winner !! It was cooked perfectly and was ordered and received in a timely fashion!! Woot woot I also ordered a drink from the bar. I give our server Olivia 5 Stars because she was the only once who cared and actually was working other than the 5 "greeters" at the front door doing nothing but providing crap customer service and attitude. The manager brought our mushrooms as we were finishing up and "said this was on the house" as he watched the NBA finals not even looking at us to see the play result. Advice to management- Hire people who want to work. The food was pretty tasty and good, it would be a shame if things stayed how it is with one person working while others are just there to play and just walk around all the time. Everything about dinner last night was amazing!!! We went on a Friday night around 6:30. We had about a 2 minute wait and then were seated. I liked the jugs of water on the table so we didn't have to wait to get our food. The place smelled so good. I ordered the blueberry smash drink, the Fatted Sow burger, and the truffle fries- every single one of them was SO delicious! The cheeseburgers, fries, and sundaes were a hit for the kids. The atmosphere was your typical restaurant/bar scene but it was cool to see the huge whiskey selection and all the local places they get their food from. Highly recommend!! read more

There are two things that I can safely say after my visit to the STACK 57 BURGER & WHISKEY BAR.  #1- If you come on a Saturday night, trying to make a movie, cut yourself some extra time because there's a line bitch. #2- There's a fuckin line! I'm not sure if this place takes reservations but if they do and you are planning on going on a Friday or Saturday night MAKE SOME. My wait was only about 15 minutes, but I hadn't eaten and I wanted to start my pre-movie buzz so I was kinda pressed for time.  The space is soaring and very open. It's ceilings are about 30 feet tall and the adjacent patio is not the largest because it sits right on the very busy promenade but, it is still a very good size. I enjoyed the attention to detail they put into using old whiskey bottles as water dispensers at the tables. Now onto why we're all fuckin here, eh? The beer menu, while very well stocked with local, craft beers, was still lacking as they had nothing stronger than an 8% ABV.  So I went with two...there of the house Gray Goose vodka gimlets with cucumber and basil. They were quit refreshing and tasty. Fuck the appetizers because while I was perusing the menu, I spayed something called THE FATTED SOW and you KNOW I had to have that. "What is that?" You may ask. Well shut the fuck and let me tell you.  It starts with a massive, hand rolled patty that is cooked to medium and covered with bacon, bourbon bacon slaw, bacon whiskey jam, Tillamook cheese, pickles, marinated tomatoes and Stack Sauce. The side of waffle fries I had were also hand cut and fried but could've used a bit of seasoning. This burger...maaaan let's just say, there was guilt and a slight feeling of cannibalism involved in its consumption and I don't have fucks to give. I won't look at another burger for about two weeks but I have NO REGRETS. Overall, I can highly recommend this place if you're ever in the area of the Ruston side of Tacoma.  Which is blowing up! Just be prepared to wait and you might want to do some extra cardio the next day at the gym. read more

My 2nd time here was a couple of days ago. I had a Stack burger and side wedge salad combo lunch and Kentucky Bourbon flight this time around where the first time I only had a drink and a bite of my friend's side of loaded fries. I like this joint. On the smaller side, but comfortable. I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here thus far. The food menu isn't large, but I think most everyone could find something they like. You're really going to want to go for the extensive whiskey menu. There are also a few choices for flights. Several Washington and Oregon options for those wanting to keep it local. The only thing I could ask for is a build your own flight to really make my way through the whiskey options. I definitely appreciate a Rye option, which I'll probably try next time, but when you look at the huge list of whiskey and bourbon options, you can't help but wish you could create your own flight. The flights they do offer are not cheap, but not outrageous. Reasonable. Customer service is pretty good, but I think that's relative to what each person expects when they go out and of course, each staff member has a different personality that you either vibe with or not. I personally liked the bartender I had the first time better than the one I had this time, but overall, everyone is courteous and attentive. The waitress/hostess I first ran into when walking in the door was super friendly and helped me figure out how to log my license plate into the computer for 2 hours of free parking. It was sweet of her to take the extra couple minutes to help me when it was clear she was busy. I wish I had caught her name. Speaking of the parking situation. On the plus side, the newer parking garage on Ruston Way is right next to Stack 571 and the movie theatre. Downside-whereas it was originally free to park, you know have to validate your parking in the restaurants if that's what you're doing and you appear to get anywhere from 1-2 hours free when dining. Otherwise, you have to pay a fee now just like parking anywhere else. I get that it's so there's room for diners to park as opposed to people just hanging out on the waterfront, but I think it creates some limitations for those who planned to spend the whole day relaxing and dining. This is in no way Stack's fault, just an observation. This was my first visit since they installed the paid parking and I definitely had to talk to people around me and ask questions. read more

SOGGY, BURNT AND SALTY FOOD. I would have complained about it to the wait staff but I never saw them again after the food was dropped off. wow, just wow. I called and asked for a manager ..... was on hold forever and then just hung up. So I guess Yelp is here for me to vent my terrible experience. I spent over $100 for me and my friend. Neither of us ate more than a bite or 2 of our food. It was just to terrible. We went to eat at Dukes. I feel completely ripped off. I have shared my experience with others the past few months and have heard several more of the same experience from others. Pretty sad, because this place is located in such a nice area.
