Classic Eggs Benedict

A super solid breakfast spot, portions are generous, food is very tasty, drinks are great. Lots of seating inside and outside, restaurant is clean with a nice ambiance. Service is always attentive (but not overly). Looking for breakfast? Look no further, this is the spot! Order the banana, macadamia and coconut pancakes, absolutely the best!

Popped in for brunch, so many menu options it was hard to choose! * Parking: Street & parking garage with loads of space. * Location: Good-sized restaurant, super high ceilings make the space feel larger, indoor & outdoor seating. * Service: Staff was quick to seat us & take our order. * Menu: Plenty of breakfast & lunch food and drink options. We had the Grilled Chicken Salad and Chilaquiles. Both solid, with portion sizes to cover 2 meals each. Would definitely visit again with family.

Dude. Spectacular breakfast. Yum. Lovely service. We got carmel lattes and the farmers breakfast. It's lovely to eat here in the downtown. If we weren't wimps with the cold, we would've eaten on their porch! Very nice. The place was clean. Good vibes. Here are the pics!

I was craving biscuits and gravy but ended up getting the Country Fried Steak. Having grown up in the south I would say this is more of a Californian Country Fried streak. Having mushrooms in the gravy was different and it had a bit of sweetness. It wasn't bad, just not the same as good ol'Texas Country Fried steak. Same goes for the Monte Cristo Sandwich. We were used to it being battered and deep fried. They came out as described but just wasn't the same. The blueberry waffle was light and crunchy just as it should be. The blueberry compote was very good and complimented the waffle perfectly. Overall the food is good so it's still 4 stars to us. But if you're looking for a good southern breakfast you maybe disappointed.

Nice outdoor seating

This is becoming our favorite breakfast place in Morgan Hill! Fairly new, easy street parking, outdoor seating available with heat lamps. Friendly and helpful staff! I love that they have GF and VG waffles and they are actually amazing! Their omelettes are excellent too, fresh! I like their chicken sausage as well!

West Omelette

I came here for brunch and I'm so glad I did! I came on a Saturday at 11am and I was seated right away. I ordered the West Omelette, which came with hash browns and a bagel. The omelette was filled with ham, green peppers, and cheddar jack cheese. Everything was really tasty. I especially liked the hash browns and how they were chopped thicker. Just a heads-up: there's currently a 75 cent surcharge on any orders with eggs.

We've been to the Stacks Campbell location a few times back in the day. I remember the food and ambiance was good. So when I heard the news that Stacks was coming to downtown Morgan Hill, I was excited and happy that another great breakfast franchise was coming to our town. We arrived for Sunday brunch after church. The restaurant is located in a nice area in beautiful downtown. Parking was free and accessible in either the garage or parking lot. We ended up waiting 30 minutes for our table inside. My first impression was I thought the decor was vibrant and had the modern look of an upscale diner. The front patio looked nice and inviting. We ordered a chicken fried steak, kids French toast, a stack of pancakes, mimosas flight, and a Bloody Mary. Everything was delicious. The drinks were refreshing. I am a big fan of chicken fried steaks and this one ranks up there. The pancakes were huge, fluffy, and tasty. Our server was friendly and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Stacks very much. We will be back and hope to sit in the patio next time around to enjoy the warmer weather.

Bacon and Onion Skillet without cheese
Jason S.

New to the area and elected to try this spot on Father's day. The restaurant is nice on both the patio and inside. The pancakes were large but tasted light. My wife and I both got skillets. The bacon and egg skillet was also a large portion size. The skillet was loaded with bacon but I wish it was accompanied by some fresh salsa. Nonetheless, the breakfast was very good.

Matcha Tea and chicken sausage omelette
Michael I.

Carnitas were dried out salty and bland, pancakes average. Chicken sausage omelette was ok and the matcha tea was good.

Tonight I had a Chalula Chicken sandwich on their delicious Souedough. The bread is crispy and soft and delicious. It was different than any sandwich I've had and by far, the best!!! The service is amazing at this place. They all greet you when you walk in and they treat you like family. I ordered a 4 inch garlic turkey pesto sandwich on sourdough and a sandwich for my coworker. It's a smaller place with limited seating. I'd say the time estimate was pretty accurate. The sandwich itself was pretty good. I was expecting a classic pesto sandwich with turkey breast and a light aioli, but it was sliced deli turkey and a generous amount of pesto aioli. I really enjoyed it. My only complaint was that they just threw my pickle in the plastic bag lol. I still ate it, but I didn't love that it wasn't wrapped. I'll be back to try more of their sandwiches.

The restaurant is located in a nice area in bustling downtown Morgan Hill. Parking is available on the street and the few parking lots close by. The restaurant is very small with a cozy outdoor patio for dine in. There is just enough space for the kitchen and front counter to order only. I ordered an A-Jay classic cheese steak and garlic fries. Everything was quite tasty. The cheese steak had quality meat and fresh soft bread. The cherry peppers went well with every bite. Garlic fries were crispy and flavorful. Overall I enjoyed my experience at A-Jay's Cheese Steaks. The staff were nice and accommodating. The atmosphere was family friendly and welcoming. My only gripe is since the price point is high I suggest combo options with small sides available for better value. It's been a while since the last time I was here. Not sure when I'll be back but at least I satisfied my recent craving.

It is also an amazing spot for non-vegans; on this visit, I was the only vegan at the table alongside one vegetarian and three non-vegans, and absolutely everyone was impressed. We sat outside on the patio because we brought our dog, and the staff was incredibly nice and turned on the outdoor heaters for us, which made the space super cozy. We ordered a huge spread, and honestly, everyone loved everything. The absolute stars of the show were the Japanese BBQ Cauliflower and the Chili Cheese Fries (even the non-vegans' favorites!). The cauliflower had the perfect crunch, and the creamy sauce it came with was so delicious on its own and paired perfectly with the crispiness. The chili cheese fries are an absolute staple every time we visit. They load them up perfectly; there wasn't a single dry fry without chili or sauce on it. For mains, the Thai Peanut Glass Noodles were well seasoned and perfectly saucy (not dry at all), and the Bakon Burger was delightful with just the right amount of BBQ sauce and vegan bacon. We also tried the Supreme Pizza; the flavors were great and I'd order it again, though my only minor critique of their pizzas in general is that the vegan cheese can be a bit gummy. Service is usually great here. On this specific visit, our server missed a few things (forgot plates, missed an extra order of fries, and didn't check in much), but it looked like she was new and being trained by another employee, so we totally understood. I am easily giving Craft Roots 5 stars. Because we have come here numerous times and they have consistently delivered amazing food, one off-day with a new server in training doesn't change how much we love this place. It's a must visit for incredible plant-based comfort food that will satisfy anyone, vegan or not. Also, I added more food photos from a previous visit; the corn ribs, a peach dessert and another salad.

Coming from Westminster in the OC then moving to San Jose, those two areas I was always around viet food so coming to this place I tried to give it some leeway since I know since moving to Morgan hill there is not many places to gather Vietnamese ingredients to cook at home The banh mi itself needs work. The baguette came out pretty dry. For their selection, it seems like they try to add multiple variations of banh mi meats into one rather than the way other banh mi places do specific meats per each sandwich. (Thịt nướng , chả lụa, heo quay) The pate and mayonnaise were lacking. The đồ chua or picked daikon and carrots were kind of lackluster. That being said it seems like one of the few places to get banh mi in Morgan hill, I do feel that they should not be charging such premium price for their sandwiches.
