The service that was requested was to clean the carpet in our great room. Truthfully, we should've checked the rating on yelp we would've chosen another service. The quality was very poor. The carpet was very wet for three or four days, we had to put multiple fans on it to have it dry. This smell came off, it dried stiff from detergent . The carpet was very chemical smelling. It burned our eyes and throats. We aired out the house for a few days. This smell just went from bad to worse and the amount of water that was left behind and soap. The carpet became dirty quickly again due to extended dampness and detergent residue . We called and complained and a second trip was scheduled for a redo. The same crew came back. There was a language barrier of sorts with one of the young men, I don't know this for sure but I don't think either was over the age of 21 one gentleman was from Nigeria and he was managing the other young man and you simply had to try very hard to communicate they came in confused about why they were having to redo The carpet. They told me that after they left I should keep the air conditioner on about 67° for a few days to dry the carpet. They walked into my house, dragging a dirty hose in as seen in the picture that they had drugged through my yard and over our sidewalk Dragging in across our walk off mat that was about $85 at Home Depot. That is now filthy. They came back into the house several times wearing the same disposable shoes that they had just walked on grass and a muddy sidewalk from water runoff, didn't change them just walked in with the same shoes several times as seen in the picture they left leaves behind in the entry hall and as mentioned a dirty walk off mat and carpet that is very wet and that same awful smell of chemical. Value I have placed a second complaint we were told they could do another redo with another crew. I told him no my wife and my family and I had already been inconvenienced twice. I didn't wanna be inconvenienced again just to live in a house for a total of six days with wet carpet and no access to the great room . Stanley steamer does not offer a refund policy? Could that be because they have refunded so much they can't afford to refund anymore. We will not be using them in the future and we do not recommend anyone use them. read more

I wanted to give this establishment a 5 star review even though I did not end up getting services through them. Why do this? You might ask. The reason is because when I signed up over the phone for a free estimate, the person who took my information was very professional, and something that I extremely value is professionalism. The person who came to check out the house that I wanted to have cleaned, which is vacant at the moment, called me over the phone before coming and was very honest about what they could and could not do for the home. I want to say his name was Nick but I don't remember a 100%, but just that honesty and being able to talk out about what we needed to do for the home was valuable information to me and I appreciate that because that everyone is honest nowadays (or ever). In the end, I'll have to gut the shower and tiles and they won't actually get clean with just steam but I'm happy to know there are honest people around. read more

I hired Stanley Steamer to clean carpet in three rooms, a hallway and 3 chairs. The technician arrive on time was polite and worked asking to look at things as he went. Everything looked ok but he could not get the chairs clean. After he left my husband and i started looking closer at the carpets etc. Once they were dry I ran my vaccum over them. I got so much dirt and hair up it appeared that nothing had been cleaned. I took a wet white cloth and wiped a few places on the carpet, it was dirty... Now how can that happen?? I scheduled on Wednesday for Saturday with a 10 am to 1pm arrival window. At 1:10 on Saturday I had to call the 800 number due to no one showing up, calling or texting. I was told it would be another 40 minutes before the team would arrive. A true professional company would value customer service and would of communicated a change or delay in the schedule. I have had Stanley Steamer to my home to clean up after a water spill accident on two occasions. They got to my house within one hour after I called, and the men were friendly, clean, efficient and through. When they left, the house was clean and there were machines left to dry out the floors, walls, etc. which would have been irreparably damaged if left wet to dry on their own. The men came back after three days and picked up the machines and it was all done for a fair price. I always recommend this company to my family and friends. I scheduled an appointment online for my sofa to be deodorized because it has a strong cat urine odor. When the smell didn't come out the first time, I contacted customer service, and the associate scheduled another appointment for me "free of charge under [their] 30-day workmanship guarantee." This time, I made sure to ask them to use the enzyme spray everywhere the smell was coming from. I turned on the fans and let it dry exactly how they suggested. My sofa still smells exactly the same. I requested a refund but was told that Stanley Steemer does not guarantee that odors will come out nor do they offer money back. They offered to have a manager come by to take a look at the couch and speak with me, but obviously during a pandemic, I was not comfortable with letting anyone into my home just for them to reiterate that I'm not getting my money back. I definitely would not have spent $140 on a professional service had I known that my sofa would end up smelling the exact same. Had Stanley Steemer come out and clean 3 areas in addition to an area rug. I will start by saying that the technicians were prompt and professional. My complaint is the work. The floors, although clean, was not worth the price I paid. Basically, the floors did not look as if they had been cleaned by a professional company. Lets just say that I will not ever use them again. I moved most pf the furniture prior to their arrival. They moved some of the remaining but not all. We contacted Stanley Steemer online to schedule an appointment to have our tile steamed cleaned and sealed. Their website was user-friendly and we effortlessly scheduled the appointment for the same day. The time window we selected was between 2-6 pm. At approximately 2 pm we received a call that they had arrived. Two services technicians named Carlos and Cardell arrived at our door, introduced themselves, inspected the area that needed to be serviced, told us exactly what the job entailed and what to expect. After we approved everything, they wasted no time and quickly got to work. They were both courteous, professional, efficient, and assiduously hard-working. After working tirelessly for over an hour the end results were astonishing; the appearance of completely new floors emerged before our eyes. The grout was brought back to it's original light color, not the filthy black it had previously exhibited. We're so happy we chose Stanley Steemer and couldn't be any more delighted with the outcome. Felt like they did not care at all because I live in an apartment. They did the bare minimum, didn't treat the stains, and I had to ask several times for them to "work" more on some of the stains because they only went over them a couple of times. (When they did work on them more there as a big difference...wish they would have done more). Will not use them again. Disappointed. The carpet still has the same stains, so be aware that the cleaning is pretty superficial. Some areas where furniture was moved still had deep dirt I could remove with my fingers after they were done. Some furniture they did not move at all, even though they were supposed to. I called their company before their arrival to make sure they would wear masks and follow covid-19 procedures and was assured they would. I even wrote in my online request to wear masks and come to the front door. They didn't read anything I wrote and seemed clueless, including coming to the back door. They did not wear masks in my house until the last 10 minutes after I mentioned it. It was definitely an in and out quickly procedure and not a deep clean at all. Don't use them... when first getting out of truck they spit in my drive way...they also don't really move your furniture, they washed around a standing lamp, that only weights 5lbs at best. They were about ten minutes late past the three hour window. They were not very friendly. They seem to just be in a rush to get done. Once gone I went upstairs and I heard my front door open no knock. It was one of the guys who proceeded to stomp across one of the carpets they cleaned without protective booties because I guess they forgot to turn the water off? I had a crew come out to do upholstery cleaning on my sectional. I was given a price over the phone by customer service who told me the size of my sectional didn't matter and that they do one flat fee. So when the crew arrived they were going to charge me an additional fee for the size. I had to call customer service and they told me that they were going to honor the price and the actual facility charges by size. So...crew didn't do a good job and a second "Senior" crew was sent out two days later, who actually did the job the correct way. Now I know there is a difference between the experience of the crews they send out. The first crew seemed to want to leave and told me they get paid by commission. I appreciate the second crew that came out to actually do a good job, otherwise I probably wouldn't consider using them again. Ask for the Senior team. read more

Thomas H and Jovanny came out to clean our well-worn carpets at our house. The job took about 2 hours and included 4 bedrooms, 3 large area rugs and 1 accent rug. The guys were very friendly and efficient, our carpets were extremely clean by the time they were finished. We have a dog so the most important thing to me was getting the doggy smell out. Also, in our bedroom where our dog usually sleeps there's always been a big brown spot -- while it is not completely gone, it was significantly reduced (they did warn me about that beforehand). John was my technician and he was right on time and was very polite. He moved all of the furniture by himself except when I offered to help since our couch was much larger. He even told me to take my time deciding if our rug and furniture was in place correctly bc I couldn't remember! I would request him again without a doubt. Reason I give 4 stars is that I was expecting the carpet to look closer to perfect but it still looks worn in some areas but the stains are gone (for now). I guess that means I just need new carpet. Stanley Steemer did a great job on 2 oriental rugs and a chair of ours. However, one thing was confusing--I ordered a price quote online and set up service via email. There was nowhere online to select area rugs, only how many rooms I wanted cleaned. I went back and looked online, the pricing is a little bit different for area rugs. So, if that is what you are looking for it might be worth a phone call. That said, service was fast, technicians were friendly, and they did a great job! read more

Great service with a very easy online site that let's you determine exactly what you will pay and the 2 hour time window you want for the crew to show up. I have a few caveats based on my experience. 1.) I originally scheduled to have a sofa and loveseat cleaned, but when the guys came out and looked them over, they warned that the wet cleaning method they use could ruin the fabric on the couch. So, that was scratched from the original plan, Be warned this may happen to you. 2.) Although the e-mail and video you get may give you the impression that the crew moves everything for you, I'd advise doing as much of this in advance as possible. They'll ask if their's anything you need them to move but won't go out of their way really, This is fine as far as it goes but older customers may need more assistance. 3.) I opted for an anti bacterial spray that they can apply. In Houston, that's definitely a good option. However, after the cleaning and the spraying, you'll want to leave the house for a few hours, at least two or three, to both let the carpet dry a bit and the chemicals to dissipate. If you don't, you may find yourself coughing a lot. 4.) The carpet is wet for several hours, 8 maybe max. So, be prepared to let your carpet dry for that long and get around in old socks for awhile. Again, if you can be away while it drys, that is even better. Don't plan on having company right away. I hope that helps. At the end of the day though, you'll have very clean, nice smelling carpeting. read more
