Grandpappy my wife treated for my birthday the Grandpappy feast. I recommend that a bottle of bbq sauce be included. My son-in-law commented you can taste the fllavor. No one was disappointed my hometown bbq away from home. Love this spot

Dissapointing and bland. I was expecting much more simply because local friends told me this place had respectable BBQ. Perhaps I'm just biased because I have eaten great BBQ in Texas or that I work hard to try to perfect my own smoked BBQ at home, but this was just a big pile of sad meat. Brisket was fatty, greasy, and no smoke flavor whatsoever, no visible smoke ring. It felt like any hint of smoke flavor was added after the meat was boiled or put through a Instapot until it fell apart. The ribs were the worst part: gray, dried out and tasteless. Pulled pork was average at best and had no flavor. Sausage seemed the same with no smoke flavor and very hard skin exterior. Burnt ends were overly sweet and chewy. Everything seemed like it had been overcooked with smoke flavor added later (liquid smoke style). All the sides tasted store bought and the even the corn bread tasted like it had been microwave reheated rather than out of an oven. At the end of the day, if you're going to serve BBQ and charge these prices of over $20 for 1/2 lb, please don't call yourself a BBQ place if you don't really smoke anything but pass off overcooked meat with no flavor. The only consolation was the friendly staff and hospitality which really made it difficult for me to even smile back at them knowing how bad this result really was.

Very casual place with good food and service. We shared a combo for lunch, and she brought it with extra plates, silverware and sauce to make it easy to share. The lean brisket was nice and lean, though a bit dry. The ribs were tender. Liked the mild sauce with a touch of spice. I'd like an option with more kick. The Cole slaw and beans were pretty good. Sharing the plate for lunch was perfect.

First time visiting, we ordered Linebacker because we can try both brisket and pull pork. The two sides were coleslaw and cream corn. I like the spicy BBQ sauce. It added more favor to the meat. The brisket pieces were thick and I can use the fork to cut them into pieces. I did not taste smoke flavor on the meat. I just added a lot of bbq sauce. The coleslaw was okay. Cream corn, the corn seems old but the cream was good. The serving side could be little more. They have most of NFL games which was nice. Price is typical BBQ place $18-$20 for sandwiches. The combo is $35-$50. The service was good. She was very sweet. Parking is in the back. The inside feels like other sport bar but serve Kansas City bbq.

The food was delicious. The service amazing. When I walked in and saw mostly men for the lunch crowd I knew I was in the right spot. Would definitely come again. Our waitress Diana was very nice and even suggested places to visit while we were here.

    What I received

First time here I was really craving some good barbecue. The sign drew me in smoked bratwurst covered in beans cheesse and cornbread. Sounds yum right!! Instead I got slice of toast not corn bread soggy with canned pork and beans with unmelted cheese and itty-bitty pieces of bratwurst. Definitely gross, could not eat after two bites,my boyfriend who literally eats everything could not finish his 6 piece buffalo wings. They are boil dry no seasoning and then pressed on a panini press. Also Yikes to say the least. I hate leaving bad reviews but my 9 year can cook better than this.

What a gem! We fell in love with the dry rub on the ribs. I also loved the baked beans, so much so I ate my husband side too! We loved talking to the owners, Tyson and Amanda. They were so kind and truly offer outstanding customer service. With all the options around, this place is one you do not want to miss out on!

Excellent BBQ! The best pulled pork I've had. The ribs were cooked well and the meat fell off the bone. Do yourself a favor and get the creamed corn as your side. Our waitress was stellar and kept me tipped off in tea and BBQ sauce. A great casual environment to talk and eat with friends. I enjoyed the Kansas City decor of the restaurant. Let's Go Chiefs!!!

The roast duck was very tender, and the rice and bok choy well cooked and seasoned. The Singapore noodles had a stronger curry flavor than I was used to, and was good. The true surprise was the salted fish chicken with eggplant. I've never had a dish like this before, and the fish smell was a little pungent. However, the taste wasn't fishy at all and had a great umami flavor. The eggplant was also tender and cooked beautifully. This is the type of food that is very comforting and makes me want to eat more even though I'm full! I wish the portions were bigger considering its price point. Of the three dishes, I can only find myself justifying the eggplant to be worth its price because it is so unique. The Singapore noodles and roast duck I believe I can find for a better value elsewhere. Though I won't be a regular customer, this was a nice find with good food!

I read some positive feedback about Famous Kitchen in the past. While I was in Issaquah, I decided…read moreto dine there. The place looked new-ish in a small plaza; several other restaurants are within sight. I yelp-checked every single one of them. All of them hover at about 3.5 stars, plus/minus some. Hmmm. Anyway, I kept the original plans and entered. They have a Chinese BBQ area that was being cleaned for the night, which makes sense. It was nearly 7pm on a Sunday. The menu had mostly ordinary Cantonese varieties with several less common ingredients like fermented bean curd, salted fish, and bitter melon. Always a good sign. When I fished recommendations from the server requesting good 'uncommon' dishes (and I spoke in Cantonese), he still pointed to the 'normal' dish. Fine, I stayed along those lines, too. The food is alright. The prices are at Eastside level. This place is worthy if you don't want to drive out of Issaquah (to Bellevue or CID). If I wasn't in Issaquah, I would not purposely drive here. The Food: Curry Beef Brisket Rice 咖喱牛腩饭, $17.99 - 3.5 Stars Tender-enough beef brisket and daikon cover a massive amount of rice. The curry is thick and pooled just right. The flavor of the curry met expectations. I wish Chinese restaurants understand it is okay to give an appropriate amount of rice instead of a massive amount to avoid waste. House Special Fried Noodle 招牌炒面/粉, $20.99 - 3.5 Stars This noodle dish surprised me that it is closer to 'soy sauce king chow mein' 豉油皇炒麵 that happens to have additional ingredients. Few restaurants serve it this way. Not a good or bad thing per se. The ingredients tend to heavily absorb the soy sauce, and the flavor profile becomes a bit too uniform. On the contrary, some may find this method more flavorful. Salt &Pepper Chicken Wings 脆皮炸鸡翅, $18.99 - 4 Stars These wings ended up being my favorite dish. They have an excellent crispy on the outside, juicy inside. Good flavor, too. They are closer to 3.5 Stars. Nothing in the overall experience stood out to round up the overall rating.

As visitors from the Bay Area where there are a bunch of Korean restaurants, I can confidently say the food here is far better than your average Bay Area Korean restaurant. Between the four of us, we ordered a 12 half-and-half piece wing set, a seafood pancake, a tofu soup, and a beef bibimbap. Although food takes a long time to come out of the kitchen, the food is worth the wait! The seafood pancake was some of the best seafood pancake that I've had. The pancake had generous amounts of seafood in it and the crispiness could not be beat. Although the bibimbap comes in a large stone pot and is sizzling hot coming out of the kitchen, you unfortunately aren't able to extract any burnt rice from the bottom. Perhaps a little bit more oil is needed to achieve this? Despite this, it's still a really nicely constructed bibimbap bowl with a solid variety of vegetables. The chicken wings are crispy on the exterior and juicy on the interior. The wings are on the larger size, so once you get past the thin layer of crispy skin on the outside, I recommend dipping the wing back into the leftover sauce on the plate for more flavor. Last but not least, the tofu soup had a deep kimchi flavor, and was very mild in terms of spiciness. I thought the rice cakes included in the bowl were cooked perfectly and had a nice bounce to them. Overall, if you're looking for Korean food in this part of town, I don't think Danji Korean Cuisine can be beat.

The staff was efficient and friendly. We ordered the Katsu Ramen, Seafood Pajeon, and Galbi Soup. The Katsu Ramen came with instant noodles, which were different from Japanese ramen. I enjoyed the instant noodles as they had great flavor, but the katsu was a little hard and not crunchy. The Seafood Pajeon was excellent--it was crunchy and delicious. The Galbi Soup came with a lot of beef, but we found the galbi to be saltier than usual, and the beef might not have been as fresh. The seating was spacious. Parking was easy with street parking.
