If I could give this place negatives I would. PLEASEEEE DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Not only did they LOSE MY GLASSES, but they were insulting in the way they dealt with the issue. I NEVER got any form of apology, and waisted hours and an immeasurable amount of effort in going to deal with their poor management. First of all they took my lenses and told me they would be ready in two weeks.. my only pair of glasses. Two weeks turn to four and guess what.. STILL NO GLASSES. I go to the store to complain and the girl says that no one shipped them... the girl who sold them to me LOST THEM. She was at the store when I was there.. but couldn't even look me in the eye. The manager wow. He just hid behind his computer and would send the sales person to talk to me. He was at the other side of the room! But never approached me while I was visibly upset. GOING HERE WAS MY BIGGEST MISTAKE. I still can't believe this business is running, and I hope upper management is able to impose stricter quality control and regulations. As a customer I feel lied to, cheated and belittled. Only plus side was: Sharon was nice. She was professional and really helped me out. But as a business.. it lacks major professionalism. So let me start with they have no PHYSICAL optometrist present !! No doctor ! They have a virtual doctor via factime After I paid the 89$ co pay and finished my eye exam I decided not to purchase contacts with them .. They TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT PRINT OUT MY Prescription since I didn't purchase anything then I told them I need my money back because I didn't come here to leave with out a prescription then they said they can't do refunds and it takes two weeks for the doctor to sign off on the prescription (bullshit ) I would not recommend to anyone who serious about there I vision to come here just a bunch of amateur young girls running cluesss one staff was talking about how she can't wait to get off so she can drink also My eye exam took over a 1 hr and 30 mins read more

I was a walk in for their promotion they have 2 for 59 plus the eye exam anyways i walk in thinking oh they are gonna help me great however being there 3 employees none of them wanted to help me at all. The first one just looked at me and told me he will be right with me took forever finally his coworker noticed me and asked what i needed then sent me to another lady coworker who looked like she didn't want to help me at all. Then the second employee comes and tells me my glasses won't be ready until 2 weeks from now and i said yeah that's ok, however then he began talking about other locations and how they have day service etc anyways this was very unprofessional of them to do. This is so weird. I gave Stanton a bad review. They said to contact them and they would try to work with me. They said I needed to send an email. I did. They never responded. I decided to look at my past review. Unbelievable!!!! Someone totally changed what I had written to a passage on hokey jeans; nothing to do with glasses. I would give them a zero if it was available this is a serious warning take your business somewhere else go to a place that's more professional you do not have to taka employee talking down to you talking over you giving you attitude when you pay out all your money I have been waiting for my glasses. This is the second time around the first ones. I had a difficult time reading out of it. Also it had a nose thing on it that made black marks on my nose. I went to my optometrist and she gave me a new prescription. I took it back to them and I picked up my glasses this morning and I can't even read out of them. I go back down there and the representative or sales person or whoever she is, she's very rude. She doesn't know how to handle customers they put these things on my eyes and I asked what am I supposed to do with them and she smartly told me read this piece of paper I feel sorry for her if she talks to all her customers like that the way this world is today she needs to calm down, I will be contacting my insurance company because I have a pair of glasses that cost over $1000 that I can't even read out of and they want me to go back to my optometrist and get a new prescription or whatever I have no idea that would be stupid. No they want you to come. They are use their doctor and then nobody wants to do that. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Came here at 11 a.m., told us they were busy and scheduled an appointment for 3:45 p.m.. We came back and did not get seen, asked multiple times why we had to wait so long and they kept telling us "Oh you're next after this person". We waited until almost 7 p.m. when the optometrist informed us that he was now off so he could no longer perform the exam and sign the forms that we need to send to a DMV out of state for a license renewal. Very unprofessional, WORST service I have ever received at an optometry place. I do not recommend this place to anyone unless you have hours to waste. Side note: the sales woman who helped us with the glasses ordering portion of this whole ordeal was nice so that can be what the one star is for. She's also the only one who seemed to care about what happened and gave us a full refund because we won't be wasting any more time there. read more

Like everyone else the staff is friendly. I have never had a Skype type eye exam. Doctor is on a screen changing the settings remotely. It was weird but ok. When I picked out glasses my first total was 500.00 plus for two pair of glasses. I said no, can't do that. I'll check around. I soon felt like I was buying a car. " Is it the price?" Um YES. Then the price got lower ( not low enough) I said well I'll look around and come back if I don't find something. Next thing you knob the Mgr comes over and now they are going to be half of what the original price was. I ordered. Took almost two weeks. What totally turned me off is when I went to pick them up today, right in front of the back lot door is two huge piles of human feces. Whoever opened that store had to have seen that. Disgusting. Exam went well, cheaper glasses they had about 8 to chose from. I found two pairs I was satisfied with came 2 for 1. pair came in on time but one had wrong prescription so sent back April 9th, I came in two weeks later (second attempt.) they had no second glasses for me. And Stanton staff said wait for email no email ever came. Called May 22 asking where my glasses are and found out they didn't do their job so the glasses were reordered a third time ( I'm hoping). I'm moving so im not even sure I will ever see my glasses. Corporate office resent call back to national city Stanton. It might be I got the cheap 2 for 1 deal so I didnt spend enough for them to even care. Third I have a disability that you can see. And they seemed short staffed as well. Advice for you get an order number and call first before you pick them up because they maybe won't have even put your order in. read more

Came here today to see if I could get my prescription because I lost my glasses awhile ago. Not sure who helped me but he was so rude! He told me my prescription expired & that he couldn't give me the prescription they already had down. I asked how I could go about scheduling an exam there and he was very rude and had no patience whatsoever. I remained kind during the brief time I spoke to him. I left there feeling pretty upset. Was lured in by there 2 frees pairs of glasses with an eye exam. BIG MISTAKE!!!! My first visit consisted of me waiting around for about 30 minutes, even though I had an appointment. When I was finally seen my appointment was cut short because their system was offline and they had no idea when they would get it back (not the staffs fault). Problem with technology, we have all been there. Came in a second time, did not like the "virtual" appointment. Although the staff was nice enough, the girl who was helping me kept being called away because people kept coming in to pick up their glasses (at least 3). This meant that they had to try them on and she had to make adjustments. When she was finally able to concentrate on me, I was going to pay upwards of $400 for 2 pairs of glasses. THIS WAS WITH INSURANCE!! I ended up with only one pair and ended up leaving after their after closing time of 7 pm. They gave me a date of when my glasses would arrive, I went to pick them up, they were not there. I was told that I would get a call when they did arrive. 3 days later, I am still waiting for a call. I finally called them and was told that the the glasses would not arrive for a couple more days. When my glasses finally did arrive, the pick up process was easy enough.+ In less than a month, something fell out of my frames, which made them not level on my face. Went in for the 3rd time, I was told they would DO ME A FAVOR, and not charge me to replace my frames. The new frames would be in within, 2 weeks. A month later, no glasses, no calls. Now I understand with everything going on with COVID, there are going to be some delays. More than a month, though, no call, no glasses. I finally call them and no one knows what is going on. They have on records that I was getting a refund on a second pair. No documentation on replacement frames. I do not recommend this place, this company, at all. Go elsewhere. UPDATE!!!! Still no call back. However, my review was responded to. I was asked to e-mail their customer service department, which I did. As of right now, 4/17/20, I still have no idea where my glasses are. If I have to wait, even if it will be another month, no problem. Just let me know SOMETHING!!!!! read more

I went and did my eye exam back in August. I ordered my 2 pair of glasses the guy told me it was going to take about 2 weeks for me to get my glasses back. Rest of August didn't hear anything September didnt hear anything from them. I finally went yesterday October 7th! And they had my glasses. I told the guy why no one ever contacted me and he was trying to say that they did. I told him that is not true and the service was horrible when it came to getting an update on my glasses. Notice how the negative reviews are almost all lengthy and detailed? Then there are the 5-Star reviews that are over the top with praise, but seem to be very general. I SMELL A RAT! While I can't say for sure that most of them are fake, it sure looks like that to me! Picked up a pair of glasses today. Was given a case that was the cheapest piece of Chinese crap I have ever seen when it comes to eyeglass cases. Keep in mind that the markup on frames is more than any retail category sold anywhere. A pair of "$129" frames might easily cost $6-8! I threw the case out as soon as I got home. Really! I doubt it cost more than 10 cents. How did Stanton Optical grow to over 100 locations across the US? They are a text book example of "bait and switch". The only reason I purchased 3 pairs of glasses at the Kearny Mesa, CA store was the smart, charming, and efficient Sales Associate Sharon. She was oytstanding! read more

My experience here was UNPROFESSIONAL and disappointing! I first called to make an appointment for CONTACT LENSES. I arrived and was assisted. Then was asked to choose frames. I made it clear my appointment was for contacts. The guy helping said I was supposed to let him know because the call center doesn't tell them. Which ok no biggie I waited around so they can get ahold of the doctor (which was virtual) I waited over an hour with my 1 1/2 year old being passed along from employee to employee. No response.. I tell the gentlemen I'm still waiting. He tries to conversation with me about my sons stye then recommends as an "eye professional" to burn a needle and pop it haha are you kidding me?! Then as my son is crying he had the nerve to say "where is his dad?" At this point I've waited almost two hours with no assistance. I left got my exam and nothing in return. My optometrist that I had for 30 years, sold his practice and the new doctor wasn't taking my military insurance. Since I had moved to National City,I thought it would be a good move to use a optometrist from there. I found Stanton Optical, on Highland. The office was very different to me, with it not having a designated waiting room. But that was all right. I had gotten used to a comfortable setting at the other office. When I booked my appointment ,I was told that they take both Tri-care and Social Security insurances. Got to exam room and I found myself talking to a TV screen to a doctor in Florida! What, how can this person see the cataracts in my eye?!! How can I get a good exam?!! Right then I should've left, but didn't. I know that things have changed in the world and maybe I was behind the times. When I got my two pairs of glasses a couple of weeks later, they were fine. Love the frames. Then about 6 months after the coating on the glasses started peeling - I never had that problem before. Went in and I was told that I would have to pay $80 to get each pair fixed. What?!! I would have to pay to get them repaired?!! The glasses were defective - why did I have to pay to cover up the damage when they improperly made the glasses?!! No, I didn't get them repaired. I'm due for another eye exam in 3 more months. I found another office with a doctor that is a person not a on a tv screen in the same room with their patient. On top of all that, a lens fell out of the second pair. And they didn't take my Tri-Care military insurance. What a terrible way to treat the military!!! read more
