Very unprofessional and rude Im currently in San Diego California the Stanton optical I went to is at 1000 Highland Ave, National City, CA 91950 PLEASE BEWARE!!! I've been here a total of 3 times and my second and third time I've gone this man named Edwin Greer ( assistant manager ‍) has flirted with me given me discounts because he said he like me as he checked me out I did accept the discount but respectfully declined giving him my number or flirting back very uncomfortable I waited for my order for a little over a month they did not notify me my order was ready and made excuses finally I went in and Edwin ran over to grab my order as soon as I came thru the door I had paid for a box of 6 month supply of contacts for EACH EYE he only gave me one box now i don't know about u but I use both eyes so I need a pair not just one he kept calling me "baby girl" even after I told him to stop he raised his voice yelling that I was trippin and I was wrong he even cornered me toward the door that another employee had to come over and tell him to go attend his other customer the employee then proceeded to tell me Edwin had messed up my order from the start I was already very upset Edwin was still yelling and saying thing while he tended to another customer I finally got my refund though and I will never be going back to that place again another customer came up to me and told me Edwin had done the same to her in front of her son I was so disgusted by his behavior and none of the other employees seemed concerned just gave me my refund Now the first time I went they straight up just tried to rip me off they had special i think it was something like 2 pairs of glasses for like less than $100 so I was of course drawn in but they ended up wanting to charge me more than $200 I argued that their promotion was definitely wrong and I don't normally use my military discount but I asked and that changed their whole mind and charged me I think like $100 and something i personally thought that that was super unprofessional whether I was military or not if y'all are doing a promotion or a deal or watever then do it not just with certain people that's ridiculous I definitely hope Stanton optical gets its shit together and fast !!!! read more

Can't beat the prices, but you pay for it in service. Would be a 1 or 2 star for service, but I can't blame this store for their customer service because the staff are new and learning, and the store is in high demand as a new, low price competitor to Lenscrafters. They'll get better... just growing pains, apart of the economic growth timeline of a company that will thrive for many years to come. My story: My glasses broke, so I was desperate to get a pair that worked. Saw the buy one get one free so walked in. Great price - 2 pairs of glasses with antiglare for under $200 BUT, I get to the end and right before they swipe my card I was told that it would take them 2 WEEKS to receive my glasses because they didn't have a glasses lab onsite and they were backed up. Glory to God, I had a old pair of glasses that got me through the 2 weeks. I was told I'd also receive a call when they were complete, but 2 weeks later, no call and their call in status said my glasses weren't ready. I go into the store because you can't call them online, and they tell me they have one of my 2 pairs but their staff forgot to update the system. They tell me they will notify me when the second pair comes in. I come in to check 2 more times after the date it was supposed to arrive, one 3 days later, and a week later than the due date hoping they have my pair of glasses and just didn't call me like the first time... now it is 3 weeks from my order date of the 2nd pair - and I come in on the 3rd week and I am told "We're sorry We didn't submit your order for the second pair of glasses. We will submit it now and it will take another 2 weeks to arrive." I wish they would have told me they didn't submit my order the first time I came in. But hey, new company, new staff, I'll have patience. I ask them if they can expedite it, since I've waited 3 weeks already and it will be 5 or more weeks from my order date before I receive them. I am told they usually can't expedite them. But they'll try. They offer me another pair of sunglasses for my trouble at a discounted price ($10). I gratefully take the discounted pair of sunglasses, even though they should be free and I should probably receive a partial refund on the glasses I ordered which won't arrive until 5 weeks later, but hey, I love Jesus too much to get upset with them and throw a tantrum. Sooo I'm still waiting for my glasses. Not sure when I'll get them. I usually don't give reviews to places where I have less than amazing experiences with, but one of their staff asked me to give a review and I wanted to keep my word. Sharon is a good customer service rep. She's a great representative and has a jovial demeanor and great attitude. Definitely a good addition for this new store. There is an elderly lady there that is awesome as well. She helped me on my second visit. They should keep her too. Hope this helps. Sidenote: I can't bring myself to give a low score to a large franchise that sets up shop in National City and Really works hard to benefit the community and hire from within. Giving the community members a chance to grow and develop their skills is a plus for me. That's the only reason it is a 3 star for me. The staff are nice, they're just learning the system. Worst service ever. I ended up just leaving. Firstly I made an appointment online and got there 10 mins early but instead of telling me right away there was no doctor, she waited til I had a question after leaving me with a tablet that would go to sleep and then you would have to input your information in all over. I had to do that 3 times. I specifically asked what kind of eye test and explained I did not want certain additional tests but she didn't seem to understand what I was saying. There was definitely a language barrier, which why do you ask what languages I speak on your form and then give me an associate who clearly does not speak the same one. After saying I wanted a basic eye exam, they had me wave the refraction test anyways with no doctor there she still did not understand I was uncomfortable with doing the glaucoma test and then another associate said if I wanted to cancel my appointment then. No, what I want is a basic eye exam. I've worn glasses since I was a child and typically wave the glaucoma test, I can do that at my primary doctor when needed, and all you sign is a form stating you don't want it. Instead I had one employee who couldn't communicate with me and another who was just completely unhelpful. I just left at that point and then called Lenscrafters, they set me up for an appointment and I had no problems communicating with them, plus my glasses from them won't be taking 2 weeks long unlike this place cause their lenses apparently come from Florida. read more

Advertized free eye exam and two pairs of glasses for $69. Sounds good? Nope. You have to pay $45 for the exam, and they will credit it back to you when you buy your two pairs of glasses. Problem is: the only glasses that the $69 special applies to are the super small selection by the door. Then when you go to buy those lower quality ones, they upsell you to $700! No. Phuq that. If you insist on the $69 special, they push the upgrades like "$69 more to be able to see out of the entire lens." And "$50 to make the lenses not super heavy to where they're sliding down your face." And lots of additional costs that make it impossible to take advantage of the special. As we were leaving (with just the eye-exam results we paid $45 dollars for), they offered to sell us the upgraded glasses for the $69 special price (offered to honor the special). We didn't want to give this crooked company any more business. AND the eye exam is conducted by an off-sight optometrist via video-chat. Wow. read more

So we go in for the free eye exam and 2 pair of frames. We upgraded to progressive lenses and paid more for better frames. Total spent was $300 After nearly 4 weeks of waiting they came back with the wrong prescription... one side positive one side negative ( a typo) which had to be corrected. I get them in another 2-3 weeks and one pair is so tweaked and bent up. The girl says I can fix that... bottom line is the glasses are still bent as hell and then 2nd pair, both plastic nose protectors have come off and I've only had them for about 3 weeks. So, I'm possibly going to demand my money back. read more

Horrible do not go here. They did an eye exam. Sold us glasses 2pairs of glasses at that. Turns out my mom needed cataract surgery no pair of glasses would fix it. Shame on Stanton optical for taking advantage of senior citizens. When we reached out to Stanton to inform them of the mis diagnosis, they said sorry no refund. But come back after your cataract surgery and we will prescribe another set of glasses for you. What a joke. Terrible- my parents went here multiple times because they called and said their glasses were ready. When they arrived at the store, they were either told it wasn't ready (even though they called which I don't understand) OR they'd get their order wrong. And it happened more than three times!! My parents have been struggling to see without their glasses and this place caused them to have a hard time for months. They'd be excited to finally get their glasses, only to be disappointed coming home. read more

Great customer service. Nice selection of glasses except for the special 2 for $69 seemed very cheap and would likely break easily. Went with the buy one get one free. Got the 2 pairs i absolutely loved. Eye exam is not free as advertised. You have to pay$45 but they later put it towards a pair of frames. If you dont have insurance be prepared to spend at least $300. I was not disappointed.. A week after they sent my frames out, i got a call that they were ready. Very fast! I like that. I am very very happy with both pairs which both also comes in a nice case. Would definitely come back and will definitely recommend to family and friends. read more

From his excellent customer service as well as his detailed explanation of the the variety of features and upgrades that Stanton offers, Greg and his team has made a custom for life. Although I didn't qualify for the two pairs of glasses for $59.00, due the me needing special progressive bifocals with high UV protection transition lenses, i was still able to score two pairs of kool look'n glasses for under $500.00. A Stanton Optical competitor wanted $435.00 for just one pair with the same special features. Thanks to Greg and his team, I'm now style'n like this!!! read more

First time getting our glasses anywhere and I would never come here again. Worst experience ever. Not enough variety in brand glasses and when we finally did find some we liked they didn't come on time. Took about a month! Glasses didn't come with original cases, didn't come with cleaning cloth. They had numerous deals and we didn't get any (reason we went there in the first place) they charged us full price and everything was over priced. Yesterday I set an appointment online to get a new pair of glasses (mine are very broken) and I was able to book an eye exam for the same day. Upon arrival I was a little discouraged to find out the staff couldn't find any information on my insurance (I didn't have my insurance card on hand). But soon afterwards the manager of the store came to personally help me and we were able to get the information we needed.I was then able to save hundreds on the 2 pairs of glasses that I got. So we been waiting for this location to open near our home. I brought my mother in law and our daughter here for an eye exam and glasses. As we walked in we were greeted by everyone and was promptly assisted for service. They also were very patient and very helpful with us assisting my mother in law with translating the exam to her language. They had a large selection of glasses and the facility was very comfortable and clean with a tv in the waiting room. The customer service and courtesy of everyone was superb. Good selection of glasses, exam is $45 and that goes towards your purchase of your buy 1 get 1 free glasses making your exam free. Mike was nice and explained the process and prices with us although I was just looking for an eye exam to take the script online for my glasses. Cons would be there is NO DOCTOR that is physically there, they are on a large tv monitor with a headset on testing your eyes that way. Would have liked for them to explain what's going on with my eyes, no one did and the doctor logged off the monitor so quick I didn't get a chance too. Good place to go to if you just want something generic and semi fast, my appointment was at 12 and I wasn't seen until 12:30 and left around 1:15. I'm looking for something much more personable in the future for my eye exam, but they get the job done. read more

I was contacted by Stanton Optical by a manager and they made the situation right. If not for that gesture I would rate them much lower.

I need a new pair of glasses and they seemed to have a great price for 2 pair. Made the appointment online and still had to wait over 40 minutes to be seen. I was charged $160 for 2 pair of classes even though I had insurance. I was never notified when glasses came in. Both pair of glasses didn't fit correct. The lenses where made too big do the frames where bent to accommodate the lenses. I mentioned it to the guy at the store. He said it was my frames and they didn't have the tools to fix them. Paid for tented lenses for my sun glasses and they don't even block or shade from the sun Had to go to a different store to get them replaced. Do t waste your tome or money here . read more

It's a scam. The techs argue in front of patients. The manager "measures" pupillary distance by crouching in front of you and marking the glasses with a marker; while you either hold your breath or inhale his. They do not "honor" your insurance and they do not give full refunds. I arrived at 3:55 and I didn't leave there until 6:30pm. I walked into and argument between two of the techs there. One smaller framed female tech (Sharon?) yelled at another tech there. She told the poor girl "I'm tired of you ! Listen to me ! " while the other tech ( I wish I remembered her name she is tall and has long jet black hair ) remained calm and professional. The one that was upset even yelled at the manager on the floor as she left. The manager said they while honor what my insurance covers and if anything I would get a full refund. When I tried to show my ID card online on my phone I was told to email screenshots of my coverage to them. They never gave me the email and then they said they were calling my insurance. They said my copay would be 89 dollars for the contacts exam and that they would give me half off my two pairs glasses and my contacts were "covered " through the allowance my insurance offered. This meant that they just charged me cash for the exam and didn't get an auth online from my insurance. I do medical billing. I figured they weren't contracted and since I needed my contacts I said ok. When I was finally "seen" by the doctor - he was on a TV screen with bad reception as he spoke to me. It was so hard to understand what he was saying. The lenses on the examination chair were dirty so I couldn't tell if it was my eyes or that the lenses weren't clear. When the "exam" was over the professional tech gave me the trial contacts and when I asked if they are for astigmatism she told me I don't have astigmatism. Ive always had astigmatism. My contacts have always been for astigmatism. I asked if somehow that was corrected and she said it can happen? It took the manager almost two hours to go back and forth between stations to figure out how much to charge for my glasses. After calling two people on the phone he said he would take off this 57 dollars off of the frames for the time I waited and what I witnessed. Somehow I ended up having a " copay " of 23 dollars for my contacts. BUT he will include that in the price for my glasses AND it's only one pair. He did not ask me what kind of lenses I wanted, he told me to put the glasses on and look at his nose. The smell of his breath as he "measured" my pupillary distance by crouching I front of my face breathing into mine. He said with all the "discounts" it's 150.00 . On my receipt he added different coating to my lenses, and thinner lenses - which I did not want. On Wednesday I started to feel dizzy and my vision became blurry. I called the number on google for this store and it sent me to their call center. I was offered a follow up appointment FOR NEXT WEEK- after I told the rep what was going on. When I told him I needed to be seen the same day and I need to see a doctor in person, he made an appointment at a different location where there would be a doctor onsite. I asked to be transferred to the office and he hung up on me. I decided to get my full refund then. I called again and a different rep argued with me as to which office I had an appointment to cancel at. I asked to speak to the manager at the physical location and a man with a strong Indian accent said HE was the manager onsite who helped me the day prior. I asked what I needed to do for a full refund and he transferred me to the office without saying anything - there I was told to walk in. When I got there I told the manger what was going on with my vision, what happened with the call center. He said " we can correct your prescription now!" I asked for a full refund and he said he would only refund me 150 for my glasses and contacts. Rodrigo (standing next to the manager ) said he was from corporate, interjected and said he would help me. I told him that I have astigmatism and he said the doctor did find it but since they've never seen me before he gave me contacts that don't correct astigmatism "just in case" . I told him how my pupillary distance was measured and he said they can use tools IF I WANTED !! I said I have no confidence in this place and he offered to refund me what ever I spend on another doctor and that they would do my glasses and contacts with the other doctor's prescription! I said I have astigmatism my vision is blurry it hasn't been 24 hours I was told I would get a full refund and he said "no unfortunately we don't refund exams". I told him to just refund me the 150.00 and HE KEPT MY EXAM RECEIPT! Unbelievable. I wasted 89 dollars on this place. At Walmart they actually billed my insurance and I only had a 20 dollar copay for my exam. Stanton was willing to only refund me 20 dollars from this horrible experience. read more
