Yikes. I really wanted to like this place. From the moment we walked in, service was bad, and it was empty. Took forever to get our drinks, took forever to take our order, it took forever to get our food. Then--the food came. The sauce was all oily and no flavor, just spice. The seafood was so filled with water that nothing had flavor. I immediately had a weird tummy ache while leaving this place. Then, by the time we got home, my hub and I were both burping sausage. Mediocre at best. The oysters were not fresh as they claimed them to be. I chewed on something frozen and they tasted like how old seawater smells. I may have to prepare my bathroom for the carnage that is to come. I still highly recommend Rockstar Shrimp on Blaine St. Even Boiling Crab is better! I think the best thing they have going for them is the half-priced pitchers of beer served all day Monday-Thursday. Had the full house medium shrimp, corn on the cob and garlic bread .. The shrimp and garlic bread were super bomb but the corn tasted like it wasn't fresh, and I don't mind prefrozen corn but it tasted like it had been in a freezer for months before being cooked... Recently went to experience the restaurant itself on Valentine's day and had a very positive stay. Was told to wait 45 minutes but was seated in merely 15 so that was a nice surprise! I LOVE to eat here. My girlfriends and I go all the time. last week I went with one of my friends and the food was good, but the service was better! Our server was an extremely handsome guy name Kelton (I think that's how its spelled). So I went the other day by myself to get dinner just because of his service. I ordered a pound of shrimp and sat for about 2 hours. the whole time Kelton Kept me entertained and had me mesmerized. At the end of the night I told him how awesome he was and asked him if I could give him my number.... Sadly he told me he had a "girlfriend" he really loved and he was committed to the relationship.... I still left my number, snapchat and twitter name because you never know ! I would definitely recommend getting the chicken wings cuz it comes with seasoned fries. Customer service was great. We had a batch of crawfish and it wasn't that fresh, so they made a new half pound for us to try and it was way better than the first batch we had. Very impressed with this place!! No wait for lunch on a Sunday. Nice and small. Servers were very polite and helpful. They actually have bread to soak up all the yummy full house sauce (which blows the doors off Boiling Crab ' s whole shabang). The sauce was so so good. Knocked a star off for service. This place has great tasting Cajun spice for its shrimp. I'm very pleased to find a place that can compete with Boiling Crab closer to my area. It's a slow Tuesday night and there is only one server from what I can tell. It took a long time for someone to come and offer us drinks. First, the gentlemen at the cashier stand took our drink order after a good 10 minutes. Then the server came and dropped off -some- (they forgot our complete order) of the drinks. There were only 4 of us, mind you. After they got it together and brought out the food, things got better. The taste, like previously stated, was great. The heat intensity for "Hot" was surprisingly spicy. Not so much that it can't be handled, but the burn was there. Normally, I have to go up a couple heat choices to get some burn. We also got fresh oysters as an appetizer, they had a slightly different taste I forget what the word I'm looking for is. But they were tasty! Regardless of the initial poor service, this was a good choice! Still left the waitress an 18% tip. I'm also a server, so 18% is an okay percentage. Next time; better service, better tip. read more

They charge $2 extra for fresh crawl fish, but is it really fresh.. I got 3 pound crawl fish and 1 pound shrimp.. Wow all bad the crawl fish was tiny 'field run' if u ever ordered online,, super super tiny, ours was mixed with fresh and frozen its obvious when the crawl fish was hard to peel and all mushy.
