My girlfriend took me here a couple weeks ago after being recommended by one of her friends. She knows I love shrimp so she wanted to surprise me. OMG it was so delicious! I can't believe I've been missing out on this all along! I live so close too! We got the 'full house" sauce and ordered them "hot". To me they were perfect! For my girlfriend a little too spicy but she doesn't eat as spicy as I do. We added sausage in there as well and was also amazing. We also got some Cajun fries on the side which were also very good. I've been here plenty of times and each time It has been a pleasant experience. Their seafood boil is definitely the best I've ever had and I've been to many different seafood boils! So that says a lot! I was a bit skeptical to order during this time with covid going on and all but I just couldn't resist. Usually when ordering to go at other places they always forget something wether it's napkins, utensils, or just simply mess up the order. But luckily Star Crab didn't disappoint! Each time they remember to include everything from the paper used to cover the table and bibs to the utensils/napkins and the correct order every time. One thing I do suggest is if you are traveling a bit of a long ways I would untie your bag as soon as you get It so the shrimp doesn't overcook with the heat of the steam inside. I made this mistake one time and had overcooked shrimp by the time I got home. Anyways, Sarah has assisted us when ordering and picking up a few times and each time she always has such a great attitude! Someone give Sarah a raise! My boyfriend and I usually eat boiling crab. Honestly obsessed with boiling crab so we were really hesitant to try another restaurant in case it wasn't as good. We hated that BC didn't open until 3 and around noon we got hungry for shrimp and decided to give this place a try. We ordered 3lbs of shrimp and let me say we will never travel all the way to OC for shrimp again. This is our new go-to place. If you're wondering if they're as good as boiling crab. They definitely are. If not better. I will be recommending it to friends and family. Service was great too ! They also have a hand washing station in the back of the restaurant instead of just giving you a few wipes to clean your hands. read more

Service was great. Got sat down pretty quick. However, the food needs some improvement. I came with a group of 4, some of the food we ordered were cajun fried potatoes, live crawfish, frozen crawfish and shrimp with Full House sauce. - Potatoes were good, just a little small in portion for the price. - Live crawfish was definitely better than frozen, if you wanted cheap crawfish, get the frozen ones, they are a few $$ cheaper per pound. - Full House sauce needed a little more salt and my bags of crawfish needed more sauce in them as well, they were kind of dry. -Shrimp was delicious! Definitely get them again. - Lemon wedges need to be a little bigger, there wasn't anything to squeeze out of the lemon wedges that we got. Overall, the people were friendly, even the owner himself came by to ask us how we were doing and ask us if we had any feedback on the food. He is open for suggestions, which is great! I'd love for this place to stick around since there aren't any other crawfish place nearby. read more

Great place to eat. Some people are put off by the lack of utensils and plates but don't be scurred. Dig in. They could improve the beer they have on tap. Add a keg of sierra Nevada or Sam Adams better yet, stay local and add a tap from wicks brewery or IE brewery. read more

Came here for the first time the place is clean. I was really hoping it would be as good as boiling crab but it isn't. My friend wanted lemon water the guy said " I'll bring water you put your lemon in it". Next my 6 yr had a kids meal she couldn't eat in there. My daughter got lemon pepper shrimp it was all just yellow juice no taste she said. I ordered a bag of shrimp with mild sauce not really what I was expecting. This place was good!!! We originally wanted to go to the boiling crab but didn't feel like taking the drive to Orange County. Looked this place up instead and the reviews were pretty good.... I LOVED IT! We will defiantly be back.. We got a family bucket that easily could have feed 3 people. my husband and i shared it so we had plenty to take home. it was about 90 bucks,, Well worth it in my opinion. This place is a really amazing spot in the IE. Definitely agree with it being and tasting better than the Boiling Crab and other crawfish places. The sauce was on point.
