Dropped by to try out the Seniorita bread. Before we go there, let's discuss the ordering system today . We entered and waited in line - it's small and is the typical donut-shop type setup (display counters showing the baked goods and you line up in front of them). Two customers in front of us and two behind us. NO ONE working?? We were so confused. Then at least 3 people emerged from the back and passed out orders to the 2 customers in front of us. Those customers left and then we got our orders taken and then all the employees left again to the back. We stood there clutching our order receipt and hoping the bread was worth it. About 5 mins later our order was brought out with little to no further communication. As an introvert I appreciate the less is more approach. Now to the seniorita bread. It was HEAVEN. The box was steaming hot and it was full of delicious bread. They look like small breadsticks and you'd expect them to be savory but they're sweet! Senorita bread does not taste the same at every shop. I've been to the Starbread in San Francisco and San Diego. It's handmade so they can be different size and different finishing. For example, the butter coating or the custard filling. It varies by when you get it and who rolls it. Our 5:30am batch look dried because only the bottom layer has the butter coating. But for sure, they still taste soft and airy and addicting. We also got the strawberry and ube mochi donut. I was surprised at how soft and chewy it was and not dried out after several hours. You can get nutella senorita bread pre packaged. They are slightly larger. I don't prefer these because it's a bit on the dryer end when it's pre-packaged. Senorita bread can be heated for 10 seconds and it tastes just like when it's fresh. Great for parties. read more

Located in the far right corner of a shopping center, hours stated they close at 6pm. Arrive at 5:15pm. Only one cashier going from front counter to back grabbing orders. During this visit, there were 3 others waiting for their order. After the 3 other customers leave, it was about 5:30 before the staff addressed my order. Once I began to order some starbread (which this was going to be my first time trying it, suggested by other social media people), the staff said they were sold out for the day. I can understand where they can sell out of things, but couldn't they just let myself and the others that arrived after me that they sold out when they came back from the kitchen with the first 3 customers order? Why make us wait? So I went back 2 days later, determined to try this starbread. I went in the morning and they had a lot more staff working. It was about their break time as I saw 5+ staff smoking outside. Two nice ladies were at the counter and I placed my order. They told me it would be a few minutes for preparing this bread and I said sure. As I looked around the bakery, they had other options, Ube versions, cheese versions, etc. I may try those in the future. I stuck to the one item they are known for, Starbread. Maybe it's the hype I had built up in my mind and stomach, but the bread was just ... OK. It's sugary, buttery, warm breadsticks. It pairs nicely with some tea or coffee, and could be served as a dessert as well as an appetizer. But was it worth the trip just for this? Not really. It's not something that jumps out at you, but I would get it if I'm near the area. Price is good for the value you get. It's a small bakery located at the end of a center with a small hard to read sign but man they got the crack bread here. Visiting Anaheim and I think I saw this place in an Instagram video. Boy it did not disappoint! The bakery smells so fresh and so good, it is hard not to want to try everything!! I came for the senorita bread, and after telling the cashier I've never had it, she let me try one before buying them. It. Is. Soooo. Good. I'd come back to Anaheim just to come here! My batch came out very sticky, too much sugar and not enough star margarine/butter. Like where's the yellow?! Also the roll size was very thin and not as wide or fluffy as I've had it from here before. It came out fresh just inconsistent. Donut however hit the spot in terms of dough thickness and chewiness!! Yesss. Chocolate Frosting not good as it was way too sweet and didn't taste like chocolate - more like sugar/vanilla forward. I've only ever had Starbread when a friend brought it and have always loved it but never went myself since it's a bit out of the way for me. This morning I had the opportunity to bring some for a funeral nearby. When I walked in there was no one in the front but waited a minute before ringing the bell that they leave in front of the register. Immediately someone from the back, who sounded like a younger woman, yells "We'll be with you in one moment" while clapping her hands after each word and with an attitude. How incredibly rude is that? The older woman who came out to take my order was kind and the bread was very fresh, which I appreciate. I understand that they usually busy (however there were no other customers when I walked in) but you are in the business of customer service so regardless of whatever it may be, that is completely unacceptable. Such a shame for that to have been my first, and only, experience there. To the young woman, who didn't even show her face, grow up and do better. read more

I did grab some flavored senorita breads but those do not come hot and warm. More of a take home and heat it up yourself kinda thing. The prices are super fair and reasonable especially for how the economy has been. Service can be a lot better but 5 stars for the taste and the price point. Compare to their malasadas and squares, I wasn't really impressed with the original senorita bread like everybody is. The bread was warm, buttery and sugary but the filling wasn't full and the cream didn't really have anything special to it. As mentioned, I would rather have their malasadas and squares because it had more flavors. There was one lady who helped me with the order and she was very quiet but nice. She recommended other breads so I took couple more and I'm glad that I listened because they were better than the original senorita bread. The place is hard to find so you have to pay attention to your Google map or else you'll get lost. There is a huge sign but with other stores so you won't be able to read all as you drive. So.. heard so much hype about this place so I walked in and was immediately felt this is not right. The placed looked like a cheap store, and not a bakery. There were 2 female employees talking really loud and vulgar at each other using rude words and no, they were not arguing they were conversing as if they live on the street. Senorita bread which is this sweet undercooked dough that tasted like it had some cookie dough mixed in. The bread still smell like yeast. I am not sure if this is how it's supposed to be, the breads we got were not even even sized (bad quality control)? Although there are many other baked goods like malasadas and ensaymada, everyone comes here for the seniorita bread. You can get as little as 5 pieces to 60 for a big party. Unfortunately, it doesn't get cheaper if you buy more. I got the 15pcs for $9 since it's the smallest size that comes in a box instead of a bag. They come out super hot and fresh. When I tried one right away, it totally burned my hand and mouth. The bread is delicious without a doubt though. It's super fluffy and soft with a sweet, buttery flavor to it. If I can give a 0 star I would have given it to this business location. I came in after 5pm, Ken (clerk) said they ran out of Señorita Bread. Now, they are selling the Malasadas 50% off. Hello, Starbread sells Señorita Bread, NOT MALASADAS! The business owner needs to change this type of "we stop cooking an hour before we close". If the business will continue with this type of mentality, this business will closed. This is a typical Filipino Business Owner that doesn't think of the customers first.
