First time trying starbread! Came here around noon on a Sunday. The shop is small. Besides starbread, they also have other food like empanadas and lumpia. There are various display boxes so you can see the size that you're getting too. We put in an order of 60 pieces and waited around 15 min. Some people came and left while we waited, and I think they forgot about our order until the last customer was served. It seems like a popular place for high school students to work. If I lived nearby, I'd stop by for a snack all the time. The bread was piping hot. It has an addictive quality to it. It's sweet and gooey, not too sweet and small enough that you might finish a whole box if you don't stop yourself. 5 stars for their Senorita bread. They loose stars because of their lumpia. They do not cook it long enough or the oil is not hot enough. They are not golden brown or crispy. When you bit into it the lumpia is soggy. I gave them a second try and even asked him to be sure they are crispy. They weren't! When i showed him, he just said I cooked it for hownlong I was told. This bread is amazing. I was conducting store visits with my partner and we went to one of his stores in south San Francisco. My partner kept talking about the senorita bread. Coincidentally the store we went to is on the same shopping center. My husband always asks for me to bring back a party of wherever I visit. This was perfect. The señorita bread is a bread any 3 inches tall and has a little opening when they smear butter and sugar it seems. Oh man. They are best when freshly warm. To die for. I made a rookie mistake and forgot to refer to my list when we were staying in San Pablo (I was going to get some of these for breakfast on Saturday, but I forgot, and we were long gone so I couldn't get back). Happy to say that I was able to go to this one before I left town. All I have to say is HOLY JESUS THESE ARE FANTASTIC! I got 10 of them, not knowing what to expect. The first bite in, I knew I was amongst one of the greatest baked/bread items I have ever tasted in my 42 years on earth. These things are like a cross between a Pillsbury crescent roll, a parker house roll, an Olive Garden breadstick, a donut, a cinnamon roll, and a honeybun smeared with almost a toffee like glaze. Good lord these things are great. I was stuffed from lunch, and I still ate 8 of them. I could probably dust off 20-30 on an empty stomach. Quick take: Not as good as the other locations I'm sad to say I've had better Señorita bread at the other Starbread locations. The customer service was very good. But the bread didn't meet the standards from the other locations. The bread did come out nice and warm. However, obviously lacking in the filling department. Barely any filling in these rolls. These rolls would have been awesome if I wasn't already familiar with the usual standards from Starbread. I now live down the street from the old Westborough location which is currently reported as closed by other Yelpers. It was nice taking a quick drive into Pacifica. I had been wanting to come here for a while, but it's just so far from my house. The pan de ube was super soft and only $4-4.50 for 5 or 6 of them! It had a good ube flavor for the first few days, but the last day I ate it it tasted kind of off. I'm not sure if that's because I tried to heat it up in the oven, but I decided not to finish it just to be safe. I'd come back to try their other packaged breads since they were an even better deal, but just be aware you should finish them in a couple days! I usually come here for their Senorita bread but decided to try something new. I ordered the cassava cake as it was limited edition. It was bigger than I expected and a pretty heavy dessert. It was sweet and chewy with cassava chunks and a hint of coconut. It didn't have a lot of flavor. I'd recommend getting their senorita bread! I'm curious if they'd still be as good after reheating! I scarfed down a couple and felt pretty full after they settled in my stomach- not the lightest snack to have. Not too busy at all on the Sunday afternoon we went, the cashier took our order quickly and came back out with our bread after 3-5 minutes. When I found out that the original location had moved within walking distance of where we were having a work retreat, I jumped at the chance to introduce my coworkers to the glorious senorita bread. 2/2 Stars for Taste -- Crispy bottom, soft and chewy inside, subtly sweet throughout. Gotta get them hot for maximum enjoyment. 1/1 Stars for Value -- Price has gone up from $.40 to $.50 each. I can usually eat 6 at a time before I really feel bad about myself, so what's $3 a serving? Worth it! 1/1 Stars for Customer Service -- Even though the menu only goes up to 50, they'll still sell you 50+ if you ask. (I bought 100 with no problems.) They also take card, which was a huge relief. Bonus star because I'll never be able to quit Starbread. So here's the tea: 1) starting Mon April 19, Starbread Bakery will resume their former hours (530am to 9pm). Today Sun 4/18 is still 11a-9p. 2) YES Starbread had it's soft opening and will officially open Monday BUT Ling Nam Restaurant will open in about a month from now. Ling Nam is the Filipino restaurant that Starbread started off inside down on Gellert (and that old area is now torn up to become a Mercedes dealership but many of the restaurants are still around but just moved to nearby locations). 3) on a related note, to tag this specific location on social media look for "lingnamstarbread" not Starbread :) 4) CASH ONLY - so go grab your stock of red envelopes and get some! The place Is right at the corner of the entrance when you pull in. I didn't even notice it was there until my cousin mentioned these little finger fun breads to me My cousin tells me it's kind of like the Chinese cocktail bun and they give them to you fresh and hot . He wasn't lying about it coming out hot. The crust is a bit crispy with a slight sweetness and the inside is soft. There is no filling inside. I got a box of 20 for $10. I was going to get the box of 10 for $5 to try it first but I'm glad I didn't . All the little buns were finished in about 3 days for a family of 4. I wish there were more locations of Starbread Bakery. Starbread Bakery has one of the best senorita breads in the Bay Area in my opinion. I've only been to 2 or 3 locations and they seem pretty consistent. The senorita breads are hot and fresh and go so well with my morning coffee. Senorita bread is soft, chewy, slightly buttery, with a bit of a sweet glaze at the bottom. The price is really good as well, last time I bought a box of 20 for $9.75. Trust me you will want to buy more than you think. I could easily polish off half the box in one sitting! Sometimes I also buy some extra for my family and friends, and they're always a hit. They do sell other pastries, donuts, some desserts, and lumpia. I didn't try the lumpia or donuts but I did try the hot dog bun and the ham and cheese bun warmed. The hot dog bun was ok but the ham and cheese bun wasn't too good because the cheese tasted very artificial. This location is in a great area, right by the beach. It's in The Linda Mar Shopping Center in Pacifica which also has a Safeway, Starbucks, some restaurants and banks and has a huge parking lot. The store itself is a decent size and is relatively clean. Due to the pandemic they are promoting social distancing and the employees are wearing masks and gloves. Fresh and gooey and so darn easy to eat! You can easily eat 5-10 of these in one sitting with a good cup of coffee. Not sure what I can compare it to, but it's basically a sweet roll that's doughy and pumped with butter, sugar, and topped off with little sticky breadcrumbs - like when you tell your kids "No more eating!
