I am a regular customer of this place. But today i have a bad experience with my order that never happens before. I received wrong order which was different what i ordered. I told the barista to make me different drink and he seems not to be happy and did not ask me what i want specifically. He just wanted to rush into finishing the drink. Not the easiest of locations to get to, but once you figure it out it isn't as difficult to maneuver 290 as it looks. Quality drinks and snacks like all Starbucks. They have a good set up for seating for reading or studying. The service is stellar as usual. read more

My service here has been 50/50. Sometimes they are awesome. Sometimes they are far from awesome. I have gotten some major attitude from one if the girls at the drive thru when they gave me the wrong drink. Annie was Very unapologetic and snotty. Even walking around the corner and not dealing with me. I was being way more patient then I normally am. read more

I really hope this review will "expire," meaning, that the problems are only temporary... but if you choose to read this entirely, I'd like to add that it really takes a lot for me to want to spend time writing a review... this review has been "brewing" over the past 6 months, and now I've had it - pushed into writing it... you'll see why... 1 Star for the experiences noted below; 3 Stars for a pleasant staff (and some improvements - thankfully, I'm not called "Sweetie" anymore in the drive-thru, but there certainly is room for improvement with drive-thru professionalism - you don't have to be professional, but at least politely ask me what I'd like to order & hold the nicknames for people you know); 1-2 Stars for its layout/ interior /seating; and yes, its gross to walk in through a smoky patio especially on a wind-less humid Texas morning - make sure you enter in the side door if you want to remain smoke-free. Over the past 6 wks, I have had 3 experiences at this Starbucks location that are absolutely inexcusable: 2 instances that I arrived shortly after 5am (their displayed opening time) to find the place dark, no one there. And most recently, I stopped by and they DIDN'T HAVE COFFEE. - If the opening time needs to be later because you can't staff the time, then change & display the later opening time. No, I don't like paying $2.50 for simple large cup of coffee, but sometimes I'm half-asleep and don't want to brew my own (or am running late or am out of coffee, etc). But to have the ability to make your own coffee and choose to pay the money... drive there and not even be open... that is SO wrong & rude to an AM coffee-drinker. Not to mention the serious inconvenience because now I'm going to be late from having to make another stop to get some elsewhere. - Not having coffee... WTF?! "Our machine broke." OK. There's an espresso machine, and a coffee maker/brewer, and I don't know what else. Please explain to me how 1) a coffee shop doesn't have a back-up machine to assure that it wouldn't ever have a problem with serving its primary sales & namesake's item; 2) a coffee shop has all machines not functioning at the same time? bad luck? Really?!? To all customers who want coffee at 5am: be sure you look up their phone number and call them first - make sure they are open!!! To all customers who want COFFEE: highly recommend looking up their phone number and calling them first to make sure they are serving coffee!!! To all other coffee businesses: wow, the location sure is convenient, being on the way & while stuck in traffic. This is this store's greatest redeeming quality. However, if there was another choice of decent coffee, I'd likely go to that place over this one. This Starbucks: the cost is prohibitive of more regular patronage, the interior isn't comfortable to visit/talk with anyone (unless you get good timing), the hours/management is in need of help, overall this store is sub-par & unreliable - a poor representation of the Starbucks corporation. read more

Yes I agree they do make great coffee and I love Starbucks. The only drawback is even though there is the "Starbucks is a smoke free environment" sticker visible as you walk in the door they allow smoking on the patio even if it is 2 feet from the entrance (and the sticker). Come on, at least abide by the 15 foot rule. read more

Usually service at this location is fabulous and makes up for the difficult access at the Y. Today, the store manager was utterly rude and intolerable. When asked why my mother's drink was more than it had been over the last year she replied with empty concern and short answers. Her employee tried to keep the situation calm and offered to remove the charge up but the manager butted in and told him not to. She relied that it is the way it is and always has been. I called back and tried to talk to her about her rude attitude and to get a better explanation as to why my mom paid more and she simply said that if we had a receipt we could bring it in but chance are we were mistaken on what we had been charged for the last year or more. read more

Always consistently great service. Drive thru is kind of slow though! They need an entrance where one can turn left into their parking lot at the Y instead of having to risk life and limb u-turning at the next "median-free" area of the road which is at the next light. read more

Need to Know: Be aware that the AC in this location is BROKEN. It is consistently 65 degrees inside. Doesn't matter if the outside temperature is 105 or 70. If the weather is hot, this place is usually infested with flies. read more

Their Wi-Fi is out and has been since Saturday. They didn't seem like they were in a hurry to get it fixed, nor did they have a sign up to let you know it wasn't working. Not an easy Starbucks to get in and out of, and I spent almost twenty minutes trying to log on until I finally asked about the internet connection. If you want high priced and average Starbucks coffee, this place is as good as any, but if you want to use some Wi-Fi go to another place or location. read more

This is a great Starbucks! I find it easy to get into and out off even though it is right at the "Y" in Oak Hill (the intersection of Highway 290 and Highway 71). The staff are always in a good mood, even early in the morning. read more

The service is mediocre. Often there will be 5-7 employees milling around, chatting, and dragging their feet while we wait in line. Cashiers are very slow. They could really learn a few things from the 24th & Nueces location, which ROCKS on the service. read more

This Starbucks location is great. The staff is friendly and they know how to make a great cappuccino. The coffee was so great I spilled it by accident and asked them if I could "pay" for a refill but the nice barista offered to make me another one free of charge. I've been coming to this location for a long time but recently, Harlie has been giving me a very unpleasant experience everytime I go through the drive through. On multiple occasions she's answered me with a lot of attitude and an overall rude demeanor. When I get to the window she never smiles, and hands me my coffee in a disgruntled and unbothered manner, and I've also had an occasion where she has turned her back on me and talked about my "complicated order", one that I've never had trouble ordering from anybody else at this location. And whenever I I go into the store she is no better. Standing around and staring at me and other customers instead of working. Hopefully the manager will realize she's bad for business because frankly, they've lost mine. read more

Great little Starbucks tucked away from the main street. I love the Iced Caramelized Honey Latte. The air smells of fresh brew which will wake you up and keep you working. The chatter of a couple dozen millennials working and studying makes the environment fun. read more
