I have never been SO embarrassed in a group of people before! I was given a gift card for this past Christmas. How was I to know that they don't "like" the gift cards with the electronic swipe line on the back! Really! You're gonna call out a customer out about that? It was a GIFT! I was very pleased with my visit to this Starbucks location. This dining area is quite spacious. Walking in you pass some merch before you find the bakery display and get to the register. I'm an app user, so I can't comment on employee service, howver, this location doesn't have counter space for drink/food pick up. Instead, they have a table set up off to the side where things are set. It looks like an afterthought. It makes me think that this store wasn't designed very well. All that said, my drink was made correctly, people in the cafe seemed comfortable working or chatting, and there appeared to be no issue with employees working smoothly together. I'm rarely on this side of town, but should I find myself here, I'd definitely stop back in. read more

I've been visiting this location for about 2 months, mostly here to study after dropping off my husband at work. The baristas have all been friendly with me and make sure to ask my name when I order my drink. They also give out honest opinion and recommendation, asking my normal preferred drink and recommending items they think I'd like. Yesterday I think was Chelsea's birthday (she's a barista, sorry I was sitting across the room, I hope I got the name right) and everyone sang happy birthday to her. Many customers walked in with their dogs and had casual conversations with others. I feel like this place creates a healthy friendly welcoming atmosphere. Seems pretty nice right? Above average 4-star review? No, they get a freaking 5-star review because for the first time yesterday, I went to the restroom and noticed there is a changing table! Ordered 2 Tall Strawberry Açaí Lemonade refreshers, 1 Grande guava passionfruit drink and 1 Nitro. The lemonades were okay, looked like they were lacking a bit of color. Nitro Brew was okay too. Husband didn't really like it. Main reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because my guava drink looked nothing like how it should look and tasted nothing like guava. They've changed the amount of syrups that go in most of their drinks. You have to ask for an extra pump of whatever flavor you want for a REGULAR MENU DRINK to taste like it should. Well, over 1,000 visits later and this has become my morning family. The staff is always friendly and efficient and knows me by name and my drink by heart. They even did a special "Darla Day" on my 1,000 yelp check in complete with paper crown and sash ;) The espresso is consistently good. I love the revamped loyalty program. Register your Starbucks card and get a free drink or food item (event the salads and sandwiches) after every 12 transactions. Since this is a cafe store, it always seems to be packed with co-working and students. That can make the parking a little nuts some days. All and all, it is a great daily stop to get a good cup of coffee, friendly conversation and a smile... which is how everyone should start their day! read more

I sure do love this Starbucks location. I've been going here for years for a quick coffee run or a couple hour long study session. It has a huge sitting area and tons of big tables that are perfect for studying and getting work done. The baristas are always super friendly and outgoing (even in the AM!). If I could give this Starbucks zero stars, I would. I'm not one to write bad reviews off of a one-time experience. I have been to this location for years and every time I think "maybe this time will be different". Nope. Every single time something is wrong. Someone is rude. Someone gets an order wrong. They are constantly out of things. Today I walked in to get a simple coffee and a bagel. They are always running out of a specific kind of bagel I like. Okay, no problem. The last time I was in there they were out of Cream Cheese- they offered me avocado spread? What? Anyway- today they are also out of regular cream cheese. They do have reduced fat. Which I received the last time I went there because again, I guess they didn't have regular but failed to inform me of this. I have had to walk out of this location 2 times in the past month because of them being out of product or because the employees were just plain rude. They are rude not only to customers but they are rude to each other. When one asks "do we have ____?" The other will shoot the one who asked a dirty look, be sassy and throw her hands up, huff and say, "I don't know!" Unnecessary and un-professional. I get that you work at a coffee joint and professionalism isn't exactly required but I would hope that any job would be taken at least a little seriously. If it weren't for the fact that I work right by this location and live right by this location I would never go here or recommend anyone to go here. Honestly, I have a much better experience at the Starbucks off of Escarpment and that is my go-to Starbucks. This place has been a really convenient place to meet my Southie friends as of late. It's got all of the usual good and bad about Starbucks; It doesn't have anything I really eat or drink, so it's not very easy that way, but it's service and setting is reliable. I like the layout of this one and there is plenty of space, both to sit and to park. As with most Starbucks they're not overly concerned with if you're ordering or not, so with business meetings often one of us will not even bother to order something. My sister was visiting from out of town and was having some sort of severe caffeine withdrawal. We headed over to Starbucks, and she ordered some sort of Ventischmenti Chocomoco Iced Whipped Somethingdedomething with Extra Caramel. She paid, picked up her drink, tasted it, and realized there wasn't much caramel in it, so she asked for more. The barista glared at her, ignored her request, and went back to making a Venti Mocashmoca Blended Thing for another customer. She waited another couple minutes and said "Um, can I just grab the caramel and put in an extra squirt myself?". Another glare from the barista, but this time he headed over to where she was standing at the counter. He took her drink, and started squirting in the caramel. After a minute my sister said "Okay, thanks! That's enough". Another glare from the barista, and he squeezed the caramel bottle harder. "Um, okay, that's really enough!" The unrelenting stream of caramel continued, and was accompanied by another barista glare. "No, seriously, that's enough." He finally stopped, but there was literally 1.5"+ of caramel on the bottom. She considered asking for a refund, but was afraid that the manager would posses the same customer service "skills" as the barista. She took three sips and chucked the drink. read more

Not sure what is going on with this location, but they erratically change their hours from day to day. Sometimes they open at 7am but close by 5pm, and then randomly the next day they are open from 7am to noon. The next 5:30 am until 4pm... the next open only until 2:30 pm, the next day etc etc etc... they leave a hand written note on the door with whatever hours they have that day and an apology. I've visited at 1pm on some days, and apparently, they've decided to close already... and yet I see, just within the couple of moments I am there, droves of people trying to get in, equally confused by their hours. I came here with a gift card but after paying for my $6+ coffee (I knew it'd be expensive but JESUS CHRIST!!), I got the wrong drink b/c the barista was too busy trying to get laid instead of paying attention to what they were doing. The coffee's as good as any Starbucks and there is usually ample parking. The staff just seems to be a bit outmatched by the sudden surges of people that seem to appear sometimes (almost like a flash mob!). I will usually run in here before/after doing some shopping at Randall's. The wifi's always been a paid privilege but I hear they're finally adapting free internet soon. If you want free internet and a better environment that isn't packed with annoying soccer moms and loud teenagers (read:summer ;)) on caffeine-induced texting sprees while loudly gabbing, take your coffee to Randall's and use their free internet while you sit in their spacious dining area. If you want to go to a smaller coffee franchise that isn't quite the corporate whore that SBs is, try Scooter's across S. MoPac. I'll sometimes decide to settle w/ "Seattle's most expensive" due to the tremendous headache that goes along with maneuvering through peak-time traffic to go to Scooter's although THEY have free wifi. read more
