OCTOBER 23, 2016 On any given day, this is actually a great Starbucks to come to. I'd give them a 4 star review, however, my advice (which I will take myself): DO NOT COME ON SUNDAY MORNING!!! The downtown farmer's market floods this place and the establishment itself is WAY under staffed! I ordered my drink (Venti iced, caramel coffee, nothing fancy, just add some syrup, ice and coffee, right?) at 11:07 and as of 11:25 I have yet to receive my drink. Utterly ridiculous! Ok, this is way over due review for weekday morning employees. This Starbucks is located downtown in Campbell. I have been coming here every other mornings now. Every time I have visited here so far I loved their customer service more then any other locations, they remember their customers names, super nice about greeting and say good morning, I just love love it!!. I saw her make 3 pumpkin cold brews, two grande and one venti which was mine....what pissed me off was she said the two name for the two grande pumpkin cold brews but did not say the name for the third one which was mine.....she literally just placed it to the side I'm like wtf. How did I find out it was mine? Came here with my sister to grab some coffee. They were nice and everything and out drink was made to order. We decided to sit outside. After consuming our beverages and our snacks, we wanted to throw our garbage away. A guy came out to clean up but never emptied the super overflowing trash can outside. Then I saw him proceed to leave for the end of his shift in his truck. I went inside to throw my trash away and inform one of the other employees that their trash can was full outside. I am absolutely disgusted with the audacity of the employees at this location. My girlfriend comes in to this location regularly and I tell her not to support this location anymore. The employees at this location for some reason are pretentious and voice their opinions loudly. For reasons beyond me we still spend THOUSANDS here a year. For some reason our daily patronage here is not appreciated. I keep telling her to stop going here. Here are two of the most recent problems- out of a slew of problems she has experienced from her point of view. 1: when I order two shots of espresso -iced with almond milk poured to the top it means that's how I want to drink my coffee. What I don't want to hear is employees telling me I'm stealing milk and can't order my coffee that way because I'm not getting charged enough. So charge me. DO your job. I am sick of the attitude I am given. The only consistency at this location is the baristas backtalk. 2- when I order a grilled cheese crispy, don't serve me soggy food, When I come back because it is not up to standard ,I don't expect employees to give me a hard time and tell me corporate wants their food served that way. Fix my food and treat me with respect. Respond to this message with corporates number. I will make sure to call them and let them know the back talk employees at this location give their customers -using "corporate"as an excuse. I will be waiting for this information. Oh crap, I can't believe I didn't submit this Yelp review! It was just sitting in my drafts. This took place roughly two months ago. ------------ I think her name was Hanna. She was the manager on duty this past Sunday morning. I walked in to this ridiculously busy Starbucks in the midst of the Farmer's Market that was going on in downtown Campbell. Inside, things were obviously in some type of disarray. I don't know if some espresso machines were down or if they had a staffing issue, but I saw that people were waiting up to 45 minutes for their drinks. Some were even waiting in line attempting to void their transactions and receive refunds. At the same time, across the street in Campbell, another restaurant was having coffee issues of their own-- as in: not having any(since their machine went down). I was requested by a friend who owned this restaurant to pick up some coffee. That's what brought me to this Starbucks. I walked up to the cashier hoping to buy some of those large traveler's coffees that are normally used to serve meetings or parties. The cashier, probably 18 years old and panicking in what was likely her first ever work-related shitshow, told me it would take 45 minutes. I don't blame this cashier at all. She was probably instructed by others to let customers know of the current long wait due to whatever issues they were having. At the same time, I wasn't going to wait 45 minutes for someone to pour already-brewed coffee from one container to another container. Nicely, I asked her if I could speak to the manager on duty. This is when Hanna came out. Slightly flustered, I could see she was trying to maintain composure in front of 50 impatient customers and 5 panicking employees. She greeted me nicely and asked how she could help. I told her that I just needed to get some black coffee to a restaurant as soon as possible and that, since everyone was waiting for espresso drinks to be made, maybe someone can just walk over and pour the coffee into the traveler's container. Quickly, she understood how doing this wouldn't have a negative effect on the crazy wait taking place for espresso drinks. She immediately walked over to the machine, poured the coffee into the container, and in one minute, she solved the problem and I was outside walking towards my friend's restaurant. Thank you Hanna! This is definitely my go-to Starbucks location. I live right around the corner from here and I bring my daughter and younger sister here with me atleast once a week. It's such a nice treat! The customer service is always outstanding. Our orders are always ready within a reasonable amount of time and they are very accommodating if we ever need to make any changes. This is my "i'm getting a haircut today" starbucks. It's right across the street from Palazzi "High Kari!" so it's my go-to starbucks when I'm getting my hair done. Usually busy but service has been getting better every time I go. i will usually pick up three drinks (1 for myself, 2 for Kari and Blondie). Lots of inside and outside seating and it seems to be used a lot by local business people. I've seen interviews, meetings, firings, and even inter-office romances going on in this store. This is my usual spot for coffee since I work just down the street! I usually don't leave reviews but I felt my dude Dylan needed to know I appreciate his work! Some mornings I make my own coffee at home and others I order for pick up when I'm on a time crunch. Dylan is usually there in the mornings when I pick up and he's been so awesome. He remembers me as soon as I come in and just grabs my coffee before I get to the pick up station. Sometimes I haven't even walked into the store yet and he sees me pull up in front and meets me at the door with my coffee It's truly amazing the care and exceptional customer service he provides so GIVE THAT MAN A RAISE lol. Seems like someone who goes above and beyond and it makes a difference to someone's morning, especially when they're otw to work or having a rough start. It's so important to just be kind and Dylan has been that. Other staff members have also been friendly and courteous as well! I order ahead so I can't complain about wait times, but even when I work on the weekends, the morning staff is for sure working their butts off so be nice and patient people! my friend and i were at campbell park, about to head out on a 20 mile run, when we discovered that the park bathrooms were still locked! i guess it was too early or the park rangers forgot to unlock the restrooms. thanks to the yelp app, we saw that a couple of nearby coffee shops were open at 6.30 on a sunday morning so we were hoping that one of them would save our bladders! we drove downtown, and walked into starbucks, and fortunately, they were open and the unisex restroom was unoccupied at this time. phew! saved by starbucks! while my friend was using the restroom, i scouted the interior and noticed that it had an oblong shape, very long and narrow, with only small 2-seater tables with chairs lining one wall. there were a couple larger tables with chairs just outside the main entrance, which would be good on a warm, sunny day. the location is great, on the corner of campbell ave & 1st street in downtown campbell, near all of the shoppes, restaurants, and other local businesses. anyhow, thank you, starbucks, for saving my friend and i from having runners' trots! i will be back again for my cup 'o joe or breakfast sammie the next time i'm in town! read more

Very nice Starbucks! When you walk in, you get a really nice "homey" feel to it. There is a ton of room, so it never feels crowded. The employees that work there have always been helpful and always greet with a smile. They make your drinks rather quickly and they always taste good. They always have plenty of danish at all different times of the day. This Starbucks also has a nice seating area out front. I RARLEY complain and as you can see my reviews are normally very positive but this is unacceptable and needs to be acknowledged. Their bathroom was disgusting and dirty with no toilet paper or paper towels because it was all over the floor. The employees were rude and condescending and I was very unhappy with their service. I almost to NEVER complain and I'm not one of those customers who expect a lot but the fact that I even tipped them after they took my order AND purchased merchandise then politely asked the older woman who was making my drink to add the frapp base to it because that's how I ordered it, she proceeded to react in a very unprofessional manner and explain to me that what I got was the way "I ordered it" and asked for my cup and she added the base. After the second failed attempt at my drink, I walked out and realized it was the exact same, just sweeter. I was over dealing with it at this point so going in a third time to complain just wasn't my style. I know I sound like I'm making a huge deal out of a small issue but I've worked in the hospitality industry over 10 years and it's not so much about my drink but the principle of providing customer service. When a company provides a slogan/mission statement/promise ie. 'Barista Promise: Love your beverage or let us know, we'll always make it right'. I don't understand how requesting for my drink to be made to my liking is too much to ask. Needless to say, I ended up stopping at another Starbucks inside of Safeway where they were more than happy to remake my $8 drink the way I liked it with no questions asked. Let's face it. Coffee is a rip off. But we still love it. This Starbucks is the closest to my work. The staff is friendly. The interior is clean, with a flood of natural sunlight. But whatever. It's still Starbucks. And reviewing a Starbucks is almost like reviewing a McDonald's; the products are all the same. What makes each location different are the nuances, the friendly smile from the server you love (or hate), where it fits into your routine, how often you visit, etc. And since I've invested in a lovely little french press (that's holding me over till replace my old Starbucks Sirena espresso machine), my visits have dropped rather significantly. I go here as part of my Sunday morning ritual...get a coffee drink and the Sunday Mercury News if they haven't run out, then wander around the farmer's market. If they've run out of the newspaper, they've been nice enough to give me change for a dollar (out of their tip jar) so that I can get one from the newsstand outside. For the most part this is a typical starbucks with the standard assortment of overpriced drinks and pastries that we have come to expect. The staff here is always very friendly even during the Sunday madness of the Campbell farmers market where dozens of market-goers and organic peddling throngs of hippies pack into this establishment. The only downside here is the one SBUX employee who believes she is the next coming of Jewel or Mariah Carey. She seems nice, but she has no business singing while at work. Maybe this is a ploy by Starbucks to get people to leave quicker? Ahh, but I digress.... All in all, this place is awesome, and the 'barista's' are great. Service was fine for me - they were pretty busy too. We only got iced coffees (black) though. They had a chalkboard sign outside for Pokemon Go - it's surrounded by 3 PokeStops! Plenty of tables for studying (though most of them are bigger tables, so if you're solo you'll probably have to share at some point), as well as a few armchairs. Google wifi so fast internet. Okay, so this review is a little later.... its based on my experience back in December. So during the winter season, they had these special hot chocolates.... and seeing as it was their SPECIAL offering, you would think that their staff would be knowledgeable. As in, they would know what was in each drink... so I was a fan of their salted caramel hot chocolate.... and they gave me a regular hot chocolate with some salt on top. Now if you had their special hot chocolates, you would know that the base is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. OH and when I said, "hrm this doesn't taste right to me" the guy had the nerve to say "You probably just don't know what its supposed to taste like". Hell no beezy, I only drank that thing everyday for like the month of December. And never tell me that I'm wrong. Grr rawr. read more

Starbucks coffee is Starbucks coffee. I usually don't get something fancy, so I'm not going to comment on that. What I DO know well is Customer Service. Recently, while searching for a Bodum Travel French Press I drove to every Starbuck's in San Jose. This is the only one where I encountered lazy, sarcastic and ineffective employees. However, the other Starbucks (ESPECIALLY the one located next to Whole Foods at Hamilton and Bascom) were extremely helpful. Ironically, of all the establishments along Campbell Ave on this downtown stretch, this Starbucks sticks out like a sore thumb. If it were any other coffee shop with that decor and service it would quickly be out of business. read more

I loved Starbucks back in 1990 when I lived in Portland, Oregon. It was THE place to grab a cup of coffee and meet up with friends. Then...they exploded and their stores multiplied like sewer rats...popping up in every lousy place one can imagine and crowding out smaller competitors. I no longer love Starbucks, but they make a good cup of coffee, quality is consistent and their stores are usually welcoming and clean.
