Do not stop here if you want efficient service for s quick coffee on the go. Trust us, wait the extra 10miles to get off at the forrest hill exit for much faster service. While the staff seemed friendly, the management of how best to use 6 staff members left a lot to be desired on our Sunday return from Tahoe at only 2pm in the day (e.g. 1 cashier for a 14+ person line, 1 person making the mixed coffee drinks, 2 workers on drive-through, and 2 more staff who spent the vast majority of their time wandering around despite the fact that the milk & sugar and also the sandwich stations/displays were nearly out of supplies. More to the point of our experience is that we simply ordered ice coffee, not an espresso or other specialty coffee and there seemed to be no understanding of the suggestion that they have someone who can make the simple drinks separately from the barrista. This store had friendly employees, a clean cafe and their service was quick! I'd definitely recommend this as your coffee stop through town.

I am a regular customer here as seeing that I have a cabin in Lake Tahoe, we are forced to head to another coffee place or shop, because this Starbucks is always understaffed, has a slow service, continually under stocked on product, the bathrooms is consistently a mess, and they cannot get an order right. I find that at the end of buying my coffee, I don't have the experience of Starbucks that I have come to love. read more

To have a Starbucks in this sleepy little town of Colfax is a nice way to kill some time while I wait for my son while he is in his classes at the local Charter School there. I don't like to have to drive all the way back to Nevada City and back so I wait here. The staff are always cheerful and very friendly. They keep the potty's clean and accomodate you in any way they can. It's nice to have the wi-fi available as well. That's where I spend most of my time. I do a bit of bible reading too. Terrible service, restrooms and the lobby was filthy and my drink does not taste the way it is supposed to worst coffee barista ever

Tried to get a cuppa here this morning. Waited 15 minutes with no movement in the line. You need more staff at peak times. Finally left without coffee. At least 2 groups came and left while I was there also without food or drink read more

Very slow here. Ordered a mocha extra hot with whip. It was barely lukewarm & tasted like pure chocolate. The dark haired girl was so slow , I just threw it out. Will never go here again. read more

4.5 Star Space, 1/2-Star Internet Access --- The layout of this Starbucks is really nice. Lots and lots or tables. Parking is a bit iffy, but otherwise - in the "real" world this Starbucks is awesome. But it goes completely down the toilet when it comes to the virtual world. Internet access, when it works is S - L - O - W. Even dial-up speed would have been faster when I was there. I'm bummed, because I would really like to go to this Starbucks. But I like going to Starbucks to get some work done. That's not possible at this one. :-( read more

I just left this location: Dirty, toilets don't flush, barista was rude.... ordered a triple grande NON FAT latte and SHE made a regular grande full fat latte!! It is really upsetting to have to trash my$4.50 coffee because she was having a bad morning!! read more

Busy because its off the I-80, but good! Its good to see the young people but we really like seeing the middle aged people also. Makes for better conversation, service and genuity. The manager is nice. I agree with Keanin Santoro, lisa is a hard worker and great smile with friendliness. We will always stop by to get our favorites. read more

Too bad ! If i have a choice, I will make it negative 5 stars -5! Whoever work on that shift between 3:30-4:30, they are so mean, no customers services, when I said customers services, just a basic manners that's a kindergartner will know! It was a very busy day that everyone tries to stop and get a drink before driving up to the snow, I think I am patient enough to wait 40mins for 1 hot chocolate and 1 cookie, everybody else got their either they were before me or after me, as long as I asked, she said " ooo you have to wait, is very busy" really? One girl even yelled on me, you have to wait, people get multiple drinks! Finally, I got my drink, then I asked about my cookies, she said I have to wait again, OMG, another 10 mins for her to open the draw, take out a cookie, unwrap the plastic bag, put into the Starbucks bag! Been to this Starbucks 1/2 dozen times. The staff is always friendly and fast. Restrooms are busy, but clean. This is the last Starbucks before the mountains or the first if you're coming out of the mountains. Easy on and off I-80. Parking lot can be busy, but there's always a space when I need one. read more

Want to wait in the drive thru for 20 minutes and get your order wrong 90% of the time. This place is great for that!

Customer service is horrible, couple that with poor quality of products... long lines at the Drive through and then after I drove away, I found my breakfast wrap was still frozen in the center and the Very Berry Refresher had no berries (when I asked for the berries, they were annoyed)... if that wasn't bad enough, I had asked to use one of my rewards, I reminded the barista 3X, yet after driving away found that she had not credited my reward. read more

Stopped at this Starbucks on the way home from Tahoe. Staff was friendly, the drink as expected. So why not 5 stars? The scary looking guy in the parking lot. He could have been a customer, since he had a Starbucks cup in his hand. But he stared at us as we got out of the car, when we came back out and got in the car, and as we drove away. Always really slow service, always really overflowed trash cans and dirty bathrooms and lobby. The baristas are nice, but maybe understaffed? When you walk inside and start to wait in line, nobody will acknowledge you, even when you've been waiting for several minutes to just order. Poor customer service, we were not acknowledged until after seven minutes. They were not busy and it was very dirty in the kitchen area, sitting area and restrooms. My wife ordered a macchiato and it was mostly milk. They made you feel like you're a burden to them. read more

There was an employee that made my time here totally incredible. She has dark brown hair, braces, tan skin tone, and thin. In the face of having to juggle multiple tasks, grumpy customers, a stubborn computer, and all the while maintained a positive and fun attitude. She was so personable, helpful, and sweet she made the entire experience 100% amazing. She even took time to run outside and search for a customer to return a wallet and cell phone with concern and urgency. stopped in again only to see mean manager named courtney telling off one of her employees in front of customers because he wrote a smiley face on a banana that we purchased. Our little girl loved it. Apparently the manager likes to be in control of even the nicest things in life. We thought the young man was very nice and thoughtful. The banana has a protective peeling. I mean really? Late night drive home with just me, my ten year old and my dog. They were about to close but were still very friendly. My coffee was free due to my Starbucks card and it was expertly made. After I got up this morning, I realized my Brand New Kindle Fire was missing and that was the only place I stopped. I called and with luck got the manager, she had me identify the item and I informed her I was several hours away. She said no problem, she'd mail it to me Monday or Tuesday. She said that they are like detectives about electronics, calling the company, telling serial numbers, etc. I was stunned. She's even mailing it certified mail. This Starbucks is along a busy highway and they don't have to be like this but that they are restores my faith in people just that much more. So cool!!!
