Located in Hyvee. Very friendly staff but this seems to be much slower than a stand alone Starbux. Blonde flat white not available.

The time has come. I have lived in Parkville for 4 years now and have been going to Rochester since…read morethe day after I moved here from California and yea it's time. In the 4 years I have lived here they have switched owners once so I am speaking for the most recent and active owners. First of all bravo. Second of all the chicken bacon panini is the best sandwich I've ever had and have ordered this at least 37 times. Lastly, make no mistake I WANT to gate keep this place but I realized it really doesn't matter how busy this place gets it's still mine at the end of the day because I'm a local so all you buttholes have to drive but it's mine! Ha ha!! (Evil laugh) Okay okay for serious Easy to find because it's a train cart cafe yes you heard right a train cart cafe! It's adorable and so aesthetically pleasing to chill at. Parking easy peasy. Pets welcome. Steps and a ramp to get with multiple outdoor seating areas and multiple indoor seating areas. Definitely wheelchair friendly Phenomenal service always so friendly and soooo dang cute!!! Pricing is fair for what I trust is quality drinks and food. My ONLY negative is the rewards system. So I spend about 100$ a week at Rochester for myself and my family. If you buy a single drink you gain a reward (a star) and if you buy three drinks two pastries and two chicken bakes about 50$.... Which is usually what I buy I get one reward. So. I'm a local I spend a lot there I'd like to feel more appreciated lol point blank is i went before there was a rewards system in place. Does it kind of sting a little in this economy? Yea but man I really do love Rochester my whole family does. I guess you can just place a few orders if it bugs you too but I'm gonna keep going no matter what. Right now they have a drink called "Bugjuice" it's superb. Matcha lemonade mix it's heavenly and is my go to drink right now. Try it! And !!! If you make it in early in the weekends try their fritters!

Our favorite Sunday mornings include walking the river in Parkville, and then stopping in for coffee and breakfast. This truly is a "must visit" in Parkville. The old train car sets the perfect ambiance for a quick morning brew or for hanging out a while. We love that they are inclusive to all humans and dogs, and that the service is always great.

They have added Messenger Coffee drinks and expanded their pastry and small bite savory items with a seperate menu. It was a bit confusing for my first time visit, which door do I enter? Do I order at the kiosk? Do I wait to be seated? Some signs would surely help. After wandering around in both dining rooms and looking at a menu at the kiosk, I was finally approached and was seated in the cafe. The room has a relaxed feel with cozy chairs and tables, a few plants and books and some comforting classical music playing. I was immediately brought a water glass by my stylishly dressed waiter. I started asking a few questions about the menu, when he asked me to follow him to the other room where I could see the variety of baked goods in the glass warming case. I made my selection and was soon brought my ham and cheese Medialuna (small croissant), a Fat Biscuit (baked rolled dough) and my cappuccino. Pricing is a bit high but the service and atmosphere was above average and the vibe was relaxing after I understood the ordering system, and the menu was unique. A great little coffee / brunch option for the Tiffany Springs / Zona Rosa / MCI area.

I also got a breakfast burrito (not gf) the second morning, which was delicious + had great heat. The coffee here was also amazing, although I opted for very basic oat milk lattes each morning. My husband got a maple tahini latte one morning + a smoked something or other on the other morning we went. My husband + son got croissants both mornings and loved them, but they also had some seriously cute rainbow donuts on display, which I was a bit shocked that my five year old passed by. The baristas were all very friendly and helpful, which I appreciated + the space was great with an open kitchen concept/plenty of seating. This seems like a great spot to work from, although they also had a wonderful (windy) rooftop to sit on also.. that looked like it had a fireplace for chillier days- so cozy. Best coffee in KC.

I had the sugar-free oat milk iced latte and my husband had a hot Irish cream latte. I also had the gluten-free chocolate brownie and he had a blueberry muffin. The brownie and muffin were very good and he said his latte was excellent. Unfortunately, my latte was not that good and it's probably just because it was sugar-free. I'm sure if I would've gotten a regular syrup it would've been fine. Quite a few coffee shops when I order sugar-free have an overly saccharin taste to them and this sugar-free syrup did as well. The coffee shop was clean and attractive, and the ambience was and the music was a good level. The bathrooms were clean as well. The only negative is that I thought the seating was uncomfortable. I have some low back issues, but even without the low back issues, I think the seating would be too hard. I started off sitting at a bench against the wall that had cushion seating and some pillows, but then I switched to the opposite chair that was a type of rattan chair. But that was uncomfortable as well, so we ended up leaving. I think overall the coffee shop is very nice, it's quite a distance from our house so we probably wouldn't go again only for that reason.
