On Tuesday morning, November 11th, my fiancée 8 months pregnant and a regular at this Starbucks came in like she does most mornings to get some computer work done. She wasn't feeling well and simply asked for a cup of water. Instead, she was told she needed to purchase something first. Hearing that honestly hit me harder than I expected. She goes in almost every morning, she always orders something, and she has been given water before without any issue. She's not someone who complains, and neither am I, but refusing water to a visibly pregnant woman who's a loyal customer just felt unnecessary. I've never in my life been denied a cup of water at Starbucks. I want to be clear: your team is usually wonderful. They're kind, they work well together, and they've always provided great customer service which is why this situation surprised and disappointed me. As she gets closer to labor, I'm naturally more protective, and it genuinely made me sad to hear that she was refused water.. Still, I believe people have off days. I'm not here to attack anyone or create problems. I just hope this can be taken as honest feedback so that no other pregnant woman or anyone in need is ever denied something as simple as water again. I go to this location a lot because it's near my house, but today I was disappointed. If you are going to charge me 1.25 to add cold foam to my drink, at least be fair. I asked to add cold foam on one of my drinks, and I also ordered the lavender matcha for my sister. Look at these photos. Came in for an Iced Shaken Espresso. This is a newer store, and it was spacious with plenty of seating. The young lady took my order almost immediately. The barista made my drink, almost to perfection. I asked for light ice and found the cup to be almost full of ice /sigh. A common problem across different locations. Busy little location in a newly developed commercial space that includes In and Out Burger, Chipotle, Mountain Mikes Pizza and Jamba Juice. The staff at this Starbucks are friendly and personable. Both of our orders took time but the barista provided us with updates and made every effort to get through the rush. There was a very large mobile order that taxed the team but they did their best to get through all the craziness. The dining room has some cool furniture pieces. The drive thru lane snakes completely around the building making it slight confusing to know where to enter on foot through the front door. I can't believe how quickly this new Starbucks was built and opened! I went to the drive thru midday and there were like 3 cars ahead of me but they moved quickly. Quality was pretty standard Starbucks and service was super friendly. There's a ton of parking! I think as more of the businesses open up in this new area, it will get a little hectic, but it's perfectly fine for now. Exiting onto Keystone just before an entrance to 80 is definitely hectic and I was not a fan of that...but access is slightly easier than to the location at Keystone and 7th? I think. I forgot Homage is closed on Mondays or I would have gone there. But this is good in a pinch and I always love me some pumpkin loaf! read more

The manager April is horrible. I ordered in drive thru and didn't receive a hello or greeting. While I was ordering I got so much attitude along with sighs when I had mentioned I had 4 mobile orders to pick up. She was so rude and told me "ok come to the window " and when I arrived she told me that I was unable to pick up 4 mobile orders at once and that she's told my clinic specifically that we were unable to do that. I've picked up orders for me and my coworkers multiple times and it has never been an issue. I wasn't aware that there was a policy that I was unable to pick up multiple mobile orders all at once the other girl at the window was sweet and apologized for her managers behavior. Completely rude and unprofessional, I am giving this Starbucks money and it shouldn't matter how many orders I pick up !!!! read more

My first Starbucks hot chocolate and pumpkin scone of the season. It is truly fall now by my calendar. This is the new Starbucks location in town so I thought I'd give it a try. The weight was longer than normal; not sure why but it seemed like forever until I got to the window. My hot chocolate was wonderful as always, just enough chocolate and a very drinkable temperature. Slightly disappointed in my pumpkin scone, however, it was dry and almost gardened in some places. It tasted as if it had been frozen and they microwaved it? Y'all know what I mean, when you microwave something frozen and the inside gets warm, but the outside edges are hard and crusty. At any rate, five stars for my hot chocolate and one star for my pumpkin scone. Averages to a three for Starbucks today. I'm thinking I can probably find a recipe for their pumpkin scones as I've got one for their cranberry bars. read more

Went to this store with my one year old to change her nappy and was harrased by a barista trying to beat down the door. Im screaming bathroom is taken. She asks like she can't hear me while she is frantically going in and out of the second bathroom door slamming the door. I come out and say does someone have an emergency as she is trying to hide. I've been slowly cutting down on my caffeine/sugar intake. I usually go for a white chocolate mocha iced or hot but they are very sugary. I tried the blonde vanilla latte for the first time. The barista was really nice and she let me know that they tend to be on the sweeter side however they can adjust it to my liking. There was little to no wait in the drive thru. An extremely snotty person named Sage who claims she is the MANAGER of the ENTIRE branch tried to charge me 80 extra cents yesterday for a drink I have ordered many times at multiple locations with no extra charge. I highly doubt she is the highest manager, but I asked her to talk to the manager twice. She said she was. Then when I asked if she was the manager of the ENTIRE BRANCH she said yes. The problem is that a barista at this location actually suggested to my son a few weeks ago that he try this drink! He loves it now, but she tried to rip me off, of course. I drove away. It is a pumpkin crème chai. Instead of four pumps of chai, they suggested to substitute one or two pumps with pumpkin flavor. My son has tried subbing one pump and two pumps at various times and yesterday wanted to sub two pumps of chai for two pumps of pumpkin (leaving the other two pumps chai). She said they couldn't substitute without charging me 80 extra cents! This doesn't make logical sense. You guys brag about your "secret menu" and substitute flavors all the time. She said the buttons were adding the charge when she subbed it and she couldn't override it. I told her usually on the menu board they type in "ask me" and then tell the person making the drink about the switch. She refused to do that simple work around. Pumpkin lattes are not 80 cents more than vanilla lattes, so it isn't about the pumpkin being worth more. It was just that pressing the key to substitute it charged more and she refused to listen to logic or be helpful. I told her that a barista at this same location is the one who suggested it to my son and it definitely wasn't more expensive then or over the past few weeks. So.... You hooked my son on a drink and are now trying to rip me off for it? I used logic and pointed out I am not asking for MORE syrup just switching flavors. She told me this me this is the price today take it or leave it. If she IS the manager, who thought that was a good idea? I don't want to spend a dime at a store with such snotty and stupid leadership. If she isn't, she LIED! Either way I won't be back. read more

I love this Starbucks. This Starbucks has the nicest manager and the nicest crew members. When I was homeless, they were nice enough to let me use their WiFi and they always made sure that my emotional support Chihuahua and I had ice water. The company gives back to the community by donating their food to help feed the homeless and needy people at the Reno Sparks Rescue Mission. A lot of people are very thankful and grateful for their love and support. When you come to this Starbucks location, you can be sure that you will be treated with love and respect by all their employees. I am proud to give this business a good recommendation because the people are the best. I know this place just opened but WHOA. ROUGH. Usually I go to the one on the other side of the freeway on my way to the dog park and while they sadly run out of the sandwich I want pretty frequently, the coffee is consistent and the service is as well. Here, the dude who took my order was friendly over the speaker but didn't say a word to me at the window. I ordered a dirty chai with oat milk.... There was certainly no chai, almost positive it was almond milk and quite possibly the worst latte I've ever consumed. I also ordered my friend a regular chai with soy milk, which was also almost flavorless and hardly hot. We met at the dog park and discussed our disappointment. She was cold so she drank hers anyway while I left mine in the car. After I left the dog park, because yes that came first, I brought back my full coffee to get a new one. The what I'm guessing was a supervisor seemed really overwhelmed and was out loud talking about how frustrated she was with being understaffed while trying to make drinks and train a newer staff. The coffee she made me was watered down and they clearly are not using the same amount of chai I get at any other Starbucks when ordering the exact same drink. All im saying is if you're having a rough time staffing your already open locations, maybe hold off on opening this new one? And certainly get in there and train more. We go to Starbucks to get the same coffee that we expect regardless of where we are. Super disappointing experience. read more

Tasted fine. Yay! Lots of younger ladies running this place. Cutesy. I always feel like I'm entering their little social club when I enter these kind of operations. It's super nice having another Starbucks on the other side of the highway as it cuts down on time when I'm south of I-80. Love the location! Unfortunately, when it comes to the food & beverages it's a different story. I've gone in several days in a row since they have opened and have had nothing but problems. To start, I ordered a decaf drink, which was not made as decaf. I have a caffeine sensitivity that causes heart issues for me so after drinking my beverage, I experienced an extremely high heart rate for the better part of two hours. I've also ordered white mocha hot chocolates a couple times and received the white mochas with coffee instead. Luckily I can taste the difference when coffee is in a drink, so I was able to avoid any caffeine effects on my heart, but nonetheless still disappointing. In regard to the taste and make of the beverages themselves, I've also been pretty disappointed. Any drink containing syrup and milk tends to only taste like milk, so I'm unsure if the proper proportions of each ingredient are being used or if the recipes are being followed correctly. I also believe there is something wrong with their nitrogen when it comes to the nitro cold brew. More than half of the cup ends up being foam, even after the drink settles. The amount of cold brew I receive in a grande is not even enough to fill up a tall cup. Lastly, I've noticed that when I ask for extra caramel drizzle, they are only using as much as a normal order and not coating the cup/drink in the necessary places. There has been several times where I will ask for cinnamon to be steamed into milk and it is not being done, the taste difference is something you can't miss on that nonetheless watching the baristas, so customizations aren't always being followed. I've also ordered food several times only to receive the incorrect item. Just this morning, I ordered a double smoked bacon sandwich with no egg, only to receive an impossible sandwich. While the customer service is great and everyone is friendly, I question if the baristas have received enough/proper training. I'm in a bit of a rut because I desperately want to shop at this location frequently, as the location is convenient and the store itself is absolutely beautiful and very well kept and clean; however, it becomes stressful worrying about my health when it comes to receiving non-decaf when asking for decaf. It's also such a let down for the place to be as inconsistent as it is. I can understand that things happen, but the same issues occurring again and again every visit cannot be a coincidence. I don't feel comfortable spending $15 on breakfast or lunch, knowing that it will have some issue, and I will not always have the time to flag down an employee for a drink or food remake. This place has amazing potential, but there's definitely some kinks that need to be worked out. I will probably spend the extra time to drive to the Starbucks on the other side of the highway as I know the small amount of wait time will be worth knowing I'm receiving food and beverage to the Starbucks standard we all know and love. read more
