This would be my favorite Starbucks if it wasn't a gazillion miles from home. As I emerged from the wilds of Carson City, escaping my own scene from Deliverance, I entered this blissful oasis of civilization. Light, bright, clean, and comfortable, this is one of the nicest Starbucks around. I found a cozy niche, made some calls, enjoyed my latte and yogurt. As I rested, I reveled in the pleasant environment sans awful music and the feeling of being rushed which seems to characterize many Starbucks. They are doing it right here. And, the barista even lent me a pen and gave me blank receipt paper when I needed to take a number down during a phone call. That's what I call service! read more

I disagree with Kara. This is not the worst Starbucks in the area and actually has one of the nicest coffee lounge spaces in town. Tall lofted ceilings look out to Mt Rose and the surrounding Summit Sierra Mall. It's actually a very scenic location. The coffee is like every other Starbucks, good but not great. read more

Standard Starbucks. There are not many planes if any at the Summit to get a beverage on a hot or cold day. The Starbucks location is in the middle building of the Summit parking lot. I have gone there many times and have never really had bad service. Honestly, unless you want your drink ready before you walk in the doors, I'm not too sure how you can have bad device there. My favorite Starbucks in the area is Minden Starbucks- perhaps part of it is it's location- getting a nice coffee for a trip up Kingsbury Grade or a hot cup of coffee on the way home from a Heavenly Day. But none the less the baristas are always cheery and welcoming and engage me in conversation for the short wait for my steaming cup. The bathrooms are always clean and tidy. Never have I had an issue with this Starbucks the only reason they are getting 3 stars and not 5 is because I ordered on the app so it would be "quicker" I could have came in and ordered normally and gotten my food quicker, there are so many mobile orders sitting here as I type and mine is still not done very upset about this. read more

I have a gripe or two with this location, mainly and lately, it's downright hot in there. I don't know what the problem is, but it seems like the air conditioning isn't even on. When I asked about it, the employee said it was because the door was open a lot. Oddly, I remember being cold at this same location during the winter, when the air conditioning ran continuously, seemingly unaware that it was 35 degrees outside. We once when outside on a cold day to get warm because it was so cold in the Starbucks! So, folks who have the key to the thermostat: Keep it cozy in the winter and refreshingly cool in the summer. I'm giving them 2 stars since I actually got what I ordered which was a DRY cappuccino and not a latte which you will get everywhere else in Reno if you don't ask for SUPER dry. I pulled up on a weekday morning around 8am and the place looked closed. Almost no customers and none that I could see from outside. Heavy steel garbage can blocking door from outside which I'm sure the fire department would not like. When I walked in and to the counter, there was someone at the register but they didn't look up at me for 30 uncomfortable seconds. I had to ask if they were open. The guy asked, "why did you think we were closed." He then half heartedly apologized by saying "sorry I didn't look up, I was still on my break." That's not a joke or a punchline although it could be. FYI - That's the worst thing you could possibly say. Across the board, I am finding customer service in Reno to be outright horrible. read more

The cashier had an attitude and got my order wrong. The drinks i got weren't made right. The mocha frappuccino tasted like pure milk and sugar somehow and my strawbery acai tasted like the water that was used to wash strawberries. I love starbucks but this is not good read more

The atmosphere was typical Starbucks, the store was clean and lighting was nice. The problem? Me and my husband went to the store last week for coffee before our shopping expedition. I ordered my regular drink; venti awake tea latte, sugar free hazelnut and 2 Splenda (A big sissy drink, I know). We also ordered some pastries heated up. The cashier was very friendly, we got our danishes and then off to the other end of the counter to pick up our drinks. The barista was mixing up our drinks and flirting with a cute young boy standing by the counter. I received my drink and tasted it to make sure that it was up to Parr. It was missing all the delicious sugar free sugar. I asked the barista if she added the sugar free hazelnut and Splenda. She said she had and went back to flirting with the cute young stud. I took another drink (I figured maybe my taste-buds were off). Nope, definitely no sugary goodness. I asked her if she was sure, she said yes. I asked her if she could add more sugar-free hazelnut. With an exasperated sigh (as if I was interrupting her game), she did. I opted to add my own Splenda so as not to disturb this budding relationship. I am typically pretty easy to please. I am not above fixing any taste problems with my drink myself. I do, however work hard for my money and have no desire to spend it on something that is not given the same care that I give my customers. This has got to be my least favorite Starbucks and I have gone to several all over northern NV and CA. Also Southern CA. read more

When you make the wrong drink admit it. A skinny cinnamon dulce is nothing like a macchiato. There is no drizzle and it's made with skim milk not whole. Everyone in my family got drinks and I got a Croissant. The croissant was old and dry. But everyone else enjoyed there drinks. The vanilla bean frappe was suppose to have caramel with it and it did not. It made it taste gross. Also someone in my family got a black coffee and they asked for creamer and they did not give us creamer or put it in the drink. Kind of a inconvenience. Right after that we went to Walmart and got creamer for it because it was not a cheap drink. read more

This is a great Starbucks, most of the people leaving mediocre reviews are complaining about personal decisions and influencing, it's my understanding that if you order a drink that is very sweet (like the pink drink) and then complain about it being too sweet that is your mistake for ordering a drink that is too sweet for you. Also this is Starbucks (the McDonalds of coffee) if you want a craft cup of coffee go to the hub or Reno coffee co. Most of the bad reviews seem like they are just a very stereotypical type of person with nothing better to do but complain about things that are irrelevant to the genuine overall experience provided by this company at this location. From my experience this location is very good, the bathrooms are very clean, the staff has always been very polite, consistent and helpful, I've never had to wait in a line here for more than a few minutes and the overall lobby is inviting and clean. The drinks come as expected whether or not my personal perspective of the drink is good or bad hardly matters but I will say what I do order I always enjoy with the exception of ordering items that are new to me and/or out of my comfort zone. read more

I really don't like giving bad reviews however I am extremely disappointed in this place. After several times of being treated poorly and unsatisfied with my beverage (how hard is it to pour coffee/tea) I am DONE. I finally called management to complain and as a result they promised a better experience. I have it a couple months before going back hoping for a significant change in customer service and beverage quality, I'm pretty sure it got worse. Seriously guys how hard is it to be NICE? If you hate life that much just quit! I don't appreciate the staff treating me poorly. No eye contact, no smiles, no greetings, effortless and careless beverage making. Terrible experience! The customer service is awful. They hardly make eye contact while you are ordering and then take forever to make your drinks. They made all of the drinks when we were there in the wrong order. People that ordered before us got their drinks after us, and those who ordered after us got theirs before. Very poorly run store. Won't be coming back here. Bought 2 coffees and a brownie. The girl barely put the brownie bag. I picked it up and it flopped onto the floor. She picked up a trash can near her and had me pick it up and toss it in. Then went on to the next customer. I said "aren't you going to give me another one?" She shook her head no and moved on. I usually don't go to this location because lack of drive thru, crowded, parking issues and or poor service. But this morning took the cake! As I walked in at 9 a.m. an outgoing customer mumbled something about nobody's working, which I thought was a peculiar statement. So I go to order my iced tea and banana bread and find the two employees in deep conversation with a couple regarding donations. While I'm standing there overhearing the conversation , within 15 seconds i get the gist that the couple should come back at 1when manager can help them. But the employees keep talking, ignoring the paying customers waiting to be served! Service is slow but that's because its always crowded, so I don't hold that against them. But every time I come in, there is only (the awful) Pikes Place blend on tap, never the bold or even decaf, and they will not brew the other 2 if you ask them too. I assume the manager only wants the cheapest blend offered there, and with the business they get there's probably no reason to change. read more

There are definitely reasons why this Starbucks has lower ratings than others in Reno. I usually go a little out of my way to go to the Wedge Parkway location instead of this one. One of the baristas comes into my work and I always address him by name, however he never remembers me. Today a coworker of mine went over and ordered drinks for all of us, I also got a cherry oat bar... they forgot it. I had to go back myself to get it, and they didn't even offer me one of the service cards afterward, so I asked for one. They said "Oh, we don't have any." I said, "Well, this is an inconvenience for me so I would like something," Turns out they did have them. Why lie? If you get early, like 7:30/8, sometimes it's not busy, which is the only perk. The mall opens at 10, that's why. There's one really tall skinny dark-haired barista who is always super nice. If you don't see him, head up Mt. Rose Hwy for 2 minutes and go to the Wedge location. read more

This is an ok Starbucks. The coffee is generally good and the service is decent and efficient, which is really all you need. The inside space isn't great, its actually a bit on the smallish side, and kind of awkwardly laid out. Its not all that inviting and I wouldn't want to work or hang there, but I can't imagine wanting to do that at most Starbucks. At the end of the day, its about the product, and this Starbucks is as good as any other. A solid three star establishment. read more
