I came in to pick up my mobile order and noticed my drink was in a cute Christmas special cup, so I paused for literally a second to take a picture. This Starbucks is right across the street from Fremont park and although the workers might need more training, I still patron this location. Recently they got my order wrong and instead of fixing it and remaking it right away, they made me go back in line to wait to put in my order again. In my experience, whenever Starbucks makes my drink incorrectly, they fix it automatically and even give me a lil $4 gift card as an apology. The pineapple cloud cake was delicious! And I've been ordering in often. Looks like they removed some seating on the inside but still offer all items on the menu. Place wasn't dirty, it seemed clean. I just think a manager should be on duty at all times to accommodate paying customers when the baristas mess up. read more

This Starbucks is in midtown Sacramento on the corner of 16th and P Streets, kitty corner from Fremont Park. The staff working here is friendly. I notice they have a lot of regular customers which the staff does a great job of greeting and personally engaging. They churn out a lot of app orders and walkins. The pickup orders are all on the far side of the counter. The menu and pricing is typical Starbucks. The interior is always kept clean and tidy. The restroom is keypad code entry with the code given out to customers. This Starbucks is not really set up with enough electrical outlets and tables to be used for a good place to gather and hunker down with your laptop to do work. Plus during the past years, like all businesses, this location had staffing challenges and unexpectedly didn't open or closed. If they were open, the few baristas there had added pressures; dealing with stressed caffeine demanding meanies is not easy. However they seem to be adequately staffed now. Moods improved all around. Plus this Starbucks ain't in the outer suburbs, it's in the heart of Sacramento's midtown area. So that means you may see a homeless person quietly sitting inside the shop enjoying a cup of coffee like anyone else, no drive thru, and the parking is all metered street parking. If you get here before 8am it's free. After 8 am-10pm for most meters on the block, it's $1.75 for the first hours with no cash accepted. There are a couple of green painted loading zones but are usually occupied. I don't recommend not paying, there are parking meter staff walking about even as early 8am. read more

These people make excellent coffee. Unfortunately they don't treat all people correctly. I've been in this establishment 3 times and have been stopped from going to the restroom before purchasing. I've explained to them all three times that I'm elderly and I'm in a protected class. Why would you deny me the restroom. Each time I've purchased after I use the restroom. I understand that people who aren't elderly or disabled don't know the signs for us in most cases. Which is why when I saw the baristas helping a blind lady to the restroom, brought her coffee, helped her with dog, and held the door I smiled. I was genuinely touched. Only to come back later and I saw a new gentleman. I said hello and told him I was here a hour before and I'm going to buy something. I got to the door and forgot the code. Unfortunately I had to ask. The gentleman informs me that I need to Buy something to use the restroom....... I informed him that I had already and will do it again. He wasn't going to tell me. I then reminded him that I'm in a protected class of people elderly. Also that by law California states that I -an elderly human being must be allowed to use the restroom. To his credit he finally gave me the code. At this point it's no harm no foul.At least that's what I thought. I ordered with another gentleman. Then a manager(female) came out and proceeded to tell me unceremoniously that the aggression that I have when I said I was elderly is a problem..... I then told her that you was not present to know how I said it. So I don't understand why you're being tough with me in telling me I'm too aggressive. I then informed her that i told him nicely. No yelling. I then told her that whether I look elderly or not - I am. Two that I know I'm a big man and that maybe the reason why your people feel threatened. Yet that isn't my problem because I'm a gentleman man. I got no other response than a double down as the original guy gave me my food. He is a good employee. Unfortunately he isn't being trained properly. If there is a discrepancy between a worker and a CUSTOMER. The manager should wait until the customer has finished the transaction and then ask to speak to the customer. Not confront the customer to show authority-to show her employees she is the boss over customer. I handled the situation deftly with dignity. Which is more that she gave me. Points to note when reading this. The manager,employees, and blind lady are all so-called European Americans. I am a so called black American. The blind person was a lady. I am a man.The blind lady and me are both elderly. The blind lady got exceptional service, I on the other hand got average service- then I got read the riot act. What is the problem here. That is for you the potential customer to decide. Is it inability to see disability's,gender discrimination, xenophobia of big black males, or simple racism. I can't make an assertion. I'm just explaining to potential customers and to Starbucks employees that people should treat all people exceptionally. The question has to be asked why is the store policing the restrooms?????? Is it do to homeless people miss using them? Is it because people don't want to clean the restroom after them. I would hope that isnt the case as homeless people are human beings too. If it is about the homeless thought. I would have a major problem because that would mean they are making a judgment about me, yet not about the others. I welcome constructive feedback. This place can't miss. Let's start with service. MAC is just my favorite human, he remembers everyone's name and makes them feel equally important. He even remembers orders, which is really hard to do considering this is one of the busiest Starbucks in Sacramento. I think every other employee is equally as great, but. MAC is just a refreshing presence. I've witnessed this staff deal with the most difficult patrons with a smile on their face. The ambience is also very welcoming. Always clean, the energy is pure. This location is open and open inside. They don't have those ridiculous chairs that forces you to leave right away. It's pretty bus inside and they have outdoor sitting also for pups. It's located in a busy area with street parking but that's limited. It's across from Fremont Park and close to other eateries and bars. It's a short walk to the Rose Garden and 16th street bars. After Blood Date of yesterday, walk in. Ask the person Jacob, short yellow hair, of stars. He prints out receipt, it lists my current stars and current cash value on Starbucks card. When I ask of the 800 number, say I tried on three different telephones, Jacob says it is not that I dialed wrong. He says many Starbucks today having different problems regarding getting supply orders. Example, their location was not able to get many breakfast sandwich items. How about the new Pineapple Refresher drink, yes they have that. Worth four dollar and forty five cents on Starbucks Gift Card or by paying cash. Four star and not five star because during Chalk It Up events, they not let Starbucks Guests use necessary room unless one orders. There is a code. During many Chalk It Up events I not eat so will not have use necessary rooms that much. Even Sheraton gets concerned of that. Sure I can walk back to Sheraton but that wastes least hour of time. Due to crime factor one year, affected four different parks and had to do with necessary room factors, anytime these four parks have children activities, the necessary rooms at these four parks are locked down. Okay so instead what may be less than ten minutes, have to imstead walk back to hotel, maybe the room. That does "lose" least hour of time that instead could been used to "paint" the masterpiece. read more

I don't know why I keep coming to Starbucks. The coffee is mediocre at best in comparison with the other shops in the area. I think I come here because of the convenience, it's cheaper, and I get sucked into bonus challenges. I'll get stuff here even when I don't really want to for bonus stars, that's when you realize how much you fall prey to marketing. Starbucks is pretty dependable in general, but Sacramento's coffee scene has really grown over the years and Starbucks unfortunately has not kept up. I used to really like the staff at this Starbucks too. But over the years that's become a little spotty, some staff are pretty friendly, some are not so much. The drinks can be a bit inconsistent depending on who makes it, but that's pretty much all coffee places. One thing that I don't get is why the foam for Starbucks lattes is so bad, not at just this location but at all Starbucks, the foam does not last at all. I don't get it.. the machine and method looks the same at other coffee shops, but the Starbucks foam doesn't even hold up to me stirring sugar into the drink. Very disappointing service at this location. Several instances over the past 10 months with the same rude and unpleasant Baristas. I ordered today from the mobile app. When I get to the store and service count, I ask the Barista, Mobile order for Martin please". The Barista rudely tells me, "I have two orders in front of you!" Moments later, a female customer enters and asks the Barista for her order. The Barista, politely and pleasantly replies, "Your order's not ready yet." My Favorite After-work Rejuvenation & Free-WiFi Chill-Time SITREP I LOVE this place and I make no bones about it. Now to be clear, I refer to this SPECIFIC Starbucks (@ 16th & P Streets, Midtown Sacramento) and am not making a blanket statement about all Starbucks. In fact, there are some Starbucks I despise because of rude and unprofessional staff ("Hello, Folsom!"). BEST BARISTAS I can't tell you how much I love all the staff here, including Colton, Levi and Marshal who make the most OUTSTANDING Frappaccinos, and Stephanie and Kelsey who make a beautiful array of specialty teas. CHANGE OF VENUES In the more recent past, I was an exclusive fan of local independent coffee houses like Naked Lounge and Temple Coffee. But there are a couple of major factors precipitating this change: (1) Free Wifi; and, (2) Registered Coffee Benefits. FREE WIFI The free WiFi is a HUGE draw. And if it wasn't for the irritating inconsistency with the WiFi coverages that I've experienced at both the Naked Lounge and Temple establishments, I might have never have "strayed" to Starbucks in the first place. My coffee addiction has been kicked back into high gear after almost a decade hiatus because now Starbucks offers free Wifi. I now walk from work (9th & Q) the seven (7) blocks just about every day. Ever since all of the greedy TeleComs (mine is AT&T because of my dam iPhone) implemented their 5GB "hard-limit" on their wireless cellular cards effective July 1, 2010, I've been searching out free WiFi hot spots for my Dell Mini wireless laptop. [I have no internet hard-line at home and am totally dependent on my AT&T Wireless Cellular Card for both my PC at home and my Dell laptop when WiFi is not available.] So now I am a BIG FAN of free wifi hot spots, and get all of my Windows Updates, iTunes OS downloads, MP3 & MPEG & AVI uploads/downloads, Virus Software updates, Facebook Albums uploads, etc. etc., ANYTHING with a large memory-data component, COMPLETELY DONE while at a free WiFi hotspots, and now that means Starbucks to a large degree. STARBUCKS REWARDS With a registered Starbucks cards, I now get all my refills for free, no matter where I bought my first coffee that day. So to be able to hit up two, three or even five different Starbucks throughout the day depending on my itinerary, totally saves me money when the refills (which are usually 50 cents in my Starbucks venti travel mug) are free with my registered Starbucks rewards card. This is probably the worst Starbucks I have been to. I live nearby and I always go there in the weekend morning fo a cup of coffee. I happened to have a day off this Tuesday sep 24, 2019. I walked in at around 09:30 am. There were a couple of customers sitting down and hanging out. There were four workers behind the counter. I was the only one in line . One cashier was busy talking to a customer at the register and the other three associates were busy bullshiting behind the counter, not doing anything. There are two registers available. One was occupied by a cashier and her "friend", the other was vacant but no one seemed like want to use it to take my order. The moment I walked into the shop, no one say hi, I was totally ignored. So I was standing there until 4 minutes later, the cashier might be tired of flipping her lips too much and finally decided to take my order. I just want a little cup of coffee. Literally these 4 star workers kept me waiting for 4 minutes, no one was busy, and best of all, no one give a s**t to a little customer like me. By far the worst Starbucks I have been to. This Starbucks in located across the street from a cute little park so it's definitely convenient for parents to grab coffee then take their little ones to play on the kiddie playground. I ordered my usual, venti iced caramel macchiato, and it was made exactly how I liked it. Joshua also got his usual, the trenta iced passion tango tea with 12 pumps of sweetener. Yes, you read that right! 12 pumps!! My nephew, Phil, decided on a new drink, a trenta mango black tea lemonade. He offered me a sip and I actually really liked it. Very nice and refreshing. Perfect for a hot day. They have a nice size non-smoking outdoor seating area, which was nice. The only reason why I am giving them a 2-star instead of a 4-star rating is because the barista was coughing while we were placing our drink orders and he was standing in front of the espresso machine. Please be cautioned about purchasing gift cards at this location. My wife frequents this location often and bought some gift certificates for her employees to give out for the holidays. When she gave them out to the employees, they were not activated with the money on them . How embarrassing! She went back in to the store but they would not accommodate her and make the transaction right . She spoke to the manager and was told that she needed to contact corporate. So we called corporate, and after that conversation, Tina (1-855-468-3413) said that she could not or would not be able to help me. She said that we had to go back to the store. So now we have corporate passing the buck as well. And to be honest, we don't have the time to keep getting the run around. So in a nutshell, I'm not going to spend anymore energy with this matter. Both the branch side and the corporate side have said that they are unwilling to assist. BTW, I usually try to give businesses ample opportunity to make things right, but Starbucks (specifically this location) has declined that opportunity. QUALITY/SELECTION: 4/5 Tastes the same as every other starbucks in the country. At least Starbucks is consistent. Some stuff tastes bad, some tastes good. It all depends on what you order. The menu is large. AMBIENCE: 3/5 Doesn't look too bad inside. The tables are actually separated from the coffee bar area, which is nice. I just do not like the street. The homeless come in frequently. It probably depends on what time you enter, but I always see them sitting at the tables. PRICE: 3/5 Same prices as every other SBUX. Soy, flavors, anything costs more than it should. 1 dollar bananas, 2 dollar water. At least a cup of water is free. SERVICE: 5/5 I like the baristas here. They are courteous and diligent. Honestly, I'd rather go somewhere else for food. The service seems pretty good. The staff is friendly and seem genuinely interested in their customers. Maybe a little too interested at times... One of the women at the cash register spent a long time flirting with a couple male customers. She help up the line for a few minutes until someone else helped out. I wanted to yell "Yo b***h!
