I had: *Toasted Coconut Cold Brew: Absolutely delicious - not too sweet and perfect for a warm day. *Turkey, Bacon, Cheddar & Egg White Sandwich: I loved that they offered a healthier option. I had a great experience with picking up my mobile order here on 03/08/26 at 6:40a. I did another mobile app order for 1 Cheese Danish and 1 Grande Hot Chocolate. This was for my daughter to have at work. When I arrived, there were a couple of trucks parked outside of the place and patrons waiting in their vehicles. I was greeted upon entering the store. A very nice young African American lady at the counter asked me for my mobile order name. 1 responded her and asked if I could get my cheese danish warmed up. She said absolutely and started to do that. The barista then told me that my Hot Chocolate would be right out soon. There was only 1 other woman waiting on an order in the store. I really liked that they had a Women's History Month (WHM) flyer posted on the Starbucks Store Community Board; AWESOME! My order was ready in a few minutes and I was able to get it to my daughter in time to make it to work. It's funny - at one time there were two Starbucks on University - one at a prime location near the iconic NP sign - - and this one which is located all the way at the other end of town - in a not-so-prime area - and THIS is the Starbucks that survives. It's nothing fancy at all - really just a place to grab drinks and go. The staff is very nice - always smiling - a small crew where everyone knows each other well. It's a no frills Starbucks because of the area which is rich in 'urban campers'. And they are very quick with the online orders!! read more

Honestly, I'm not a fan of Starbucks because they always seem to open near a successful independent coffee house. But when all you get are gift cards from the Starbucks, well, you have to go in and use them. This location is nice. Parking can be a bit of a challenge since there's a 15 minute? green curb in front. The staff was friendly on my morning visit. Lots of interesting people. Lots of online/phone in orders. This Starbucks is not good for work (no bathrooms or tables to work at), or for friendly service. There's always this one girl/employee who just has an awful attitude and makes ordering even the simplest of drinks extremely difficult and a hassle. It shouldn't be difficult. She always gives me trouble for no real reason. In my visit today, she rolled her eyes and spoke very condescendingly to me for asking to have my drink split into two cups. The drinks are made in one cup, then poured into the cups they serve us in. It could easily be split into two. I've never had this much of a hassle at any other Starbucks. It's honestly ridiculous. I came in as a DoorDash employee picking up an order for a customer. I asked to use the restroom, the first girl said no because I wasn't a paid Customer. This is a pick-up location. All chairs and tables have been removed. No seating, inside or out. Restrooms are also not available. It's a huge Starbucks with a huge patio where they took all of the seats out. I met up with an old college friend. Haven't seen her in years. We were laughing and chatting it up, standing at the belly counter. After about 15 mins, an employee asked us to leave and explained why. I could tell she was scared to approach us. Service here lately has been consistently stellar. My mobile orders have been ready on time, baristas have been attentive, greeting me and other customers as we walk in. There were times in the past when they weren't so great, so at least from my experience, they've stepped up over the past year (same employees, mostly). My customized drinks have been made accurately and food, delicious and satisfying. As of this review, customers can only order takeout. No chairs or tables, and this location does not have a drive-thru. There is a green curb for short-term parking, but if that's full, park in the Walgreens lots on the north and east sides. Worst Starbucks , or in general, worst coffee shop in North Park. All the seating has been removed from the inside and outside. This location did this because they discriminate against the homeless who do in fact purchase a beverage and like to sit there. I still haven't heard from the regional manager regarding my concern and customer service claims they have no reason as to why seating has been removed and bathroom closes. The rep said a lot of people have called to complain. Maybe the regional manager will read this review. Shame on Starbucks for making the restroom permanently closed to customers. This location always had a customer restroom, but it recently decided to prohibit customers from using it. Instead, they send their customers to a business down the street. I personally think restrooms should be a requirement if serving food. I asked one of the female employees (short hair and wears red lipstick) why did they close the bathroom and when are they going to open it again to be used. Only a few people in line and it didn't take long to put in my order. The wait was reasonable as they made my coffee drink and my latte was like expected at most other Starbucks. My lemon pound cake tasted fresh with the perfect amount of lemon. If you like lemon, you would like the lemon pound cake. There was no place to sit as all the chairs were occupied. It's a small place with not a lot of seating. The creamer area needed cleaning. This place is conveniently situated right off the freeway and close to other convenient stores. Stopped by here after picking up our banjo/bass player and heading to Santa Barbara for a gig. This location was relatively busy but the wait was less than 7 minutes to get our drinks. While there I had ordered a cold brew nitro coffee with white chocolate pumps and got two protein boxes and a cranberry bliss bar so that we had snacks on our mini road trip. They had one cake pop left which was a pumpkin flavored cake pop with a happy face on it. My daughter was happy and enjoyed her cake pop. I definitely love seeing her happy. I ordered a tall mango iced tea. I was a little disappointed in my drink. I didn't taste the mango flavor too much and it tasted watered down. I didn't want to return it and ended up drinking it. This is probably the worst Starbucks I have EVER been to. They're always out of something and I usually have to wait 15 minutes for a pour over because they don't have dark roast ready. Im an idiot for continuing to return. They were out of honey blend today. The girl at the pick up counter told me "are you sure this is yours!? People come and take things that aren't theirs all the time." LIKE I WAS TRYING TO STEAL! The girl at least attempted to fix it when I called today about the fake sugar they put in my coffee but I probably won't come back to Starbucks again.
