I visit this location once or twice a month on weekend mornings when I take my wife to an early appointment nearby. I stop in for drinks each time, so this is not a one-time impression. From my very first visit, the service has felt cold and unwelcoming. I greeted the barista with a "good morning" and received no acknowledgment -- just an unfriendly look. I initially brushed it off as a bad day. However, after multiple visits over several months, the same behavior has continued. Unfortunately, this has not been limited to one person. The overall attitude from all employees has consistently been poor. It's disappointing to feel like an inconvenience rather than a customer. I've also noticed a clear difference in how regulars are treated compared to those who are not. Customer service should not depend on familiarity. When you work with the public, basic courtesy -- eye contact, a greeting, and professionalism -- is not optional. It's the standard. For comparison, Starbucks - 190 N Citrus Ave on Badillo and Citrus in Covina is a perfect example of how customers should be treated: friendly, welcoming, and consistent with everyone. Take note. Customer experience matters. If this pattern continues, customers will simply choose to spend their money elsewhere. read more

I really enjoy sitting on the outdoor patio of this little Starbucks on the corner of San Dimas Avenue and Bonita watching the traffic pass by, so I have recently incorporated a stop here into my walks through San Dimas. I've also seen some patrons bring their own chairs and sit in the grassy, shaded area adjacent to the patio, as well. The one drawback for many customers is probably the lack of a drive through window, but parking is right next to the entrances on either side of the building. In other words, unless you are physically unable to exit your vehicle, the counter is literally a few steps away from the parking area. The staff has always been friendly and prompt in delivering my orders, and both the indoor and outdoor drinking/dining areas are usually free of trash. With this location being only a brief walk from the new Metro (A Line) light rail depot, I am anticipating a pick-up in business as this new leg of the line grows in popularity. For now, however, this location isn't overly crowded. I haven't tried any of the food offerings, but it appears the standard Starbucks fair is available. My husband went in to pick up a mobile order that was processing he was waiting and sat down . The person behind the counter Allison /Anita told him he could not sit , seating was only for customers. He said she was abrupt and pretty much told him to leave .Once she saw the order her tone changed. This is not how you treat customers. I am shocked Starbucks has employees this rude. San Dimas is a friendly, small town community I don't know other businesses that treat customers this way. The Starbucks in Albertsons, Vons , and drive thru in La Verne are so friendly. Truly the best Starbucks you'll ever step into. All baristas are exceptional communicators and their customer service is like no other! They genuinely want to get to know their customers and make an effort to do so! I go there a lot to study and every time I walk through the door I get greeted with a smile and a "Hi Abby!". Not to mention the ambience is very calming, hearing the espresso machine wheeze and the quiet chatter is the perfect background noise for me! They also are very considerate, whether you don't like a drink or you're a couple stars off from a free cake pop, they got you! The management is also amazing, you can tell the baristas are like a family! 0 Stars - Horrible Experience My recent visit to this Starbucks was deeply disappointing, mostly due to Allison, the lady behind the counter, whose rude and unprofessional behavior ruined the entire experience. I witnessed an off-duty employee get in line to order a cup of water, and as I was placing my order, Allison ignored me entirely to loudly reprimand the employee in front of everyone. This made my ordering experience rushed and unpleasant. When it was the employee's turn, Allison refused to give them a cup of water--even refusing to sell them one. My boyfriend kindly offered to buy the water for the employee, but they declined and went back to work, clearly dehydrated. On top of that, Allison didn't even ask my boyfriend if he wanted milk in his coffee, and my bagel was barely toasted--it was soggy and unappetizing. The store was empty, there was no line, and her behavior felt like a deliberate attempt to belittle the employee in front of customers. Mistreating employees like this is unacceptable, and it left us with such a bad impression that we will not be returning. If this is how staff and customers are treated, I don't see how this location can expect repeat business. read more

This is one of my favorite Starbucks locations. This branch is very clean. It has a nice area to hang out outside specially during summer. The baristas are very attentive and friendly. The parking lot is huge and the location is great. We just went for grande hot cocoa to give us some energy and keep us warm in this cold weather. I walked in and stared at the menu on the wall, Moi asked me what I was looking for, I described what the coffee i was looking for, he asked me some additional follow up questions. Sent me request over to Natasha and she made me the coffee I had requested, she waited until I sipped it and asked how she could make it better, I told he a bit sweeter, she made the necessary corrections and it was perfect. I appreciated the service and the manner in which they both assisted me, I could have stared at the menu on the wall for an hour and not know what I wanted not being able to tell some of the selections apart. When Moi asked me what I was looking for that made it so much easier, and the additional help Natasha provided, making it to my liking was so perfect. Very well done! IMO this is the best Starbucks to study at. There is no drive through at this location. Very large parking lot nearby, some spaces with shade. The seating area is nice because it's blocked off from the ordering area making it a lot less awkward if you need to sit and study when it's empty. They have outlets at some of the "bar" style seating and the lounge chairs. The main thing though is that the workers here are genuinely so sweet. I have never had a bad experience. Even overhearing the way they talk to customers you can tell they are trying really hard to make people smile. They are super respectful, and put in the effort to remember regulars names and orders. read more

After ordering a americano I used the restroom .. By the time I realized they had no toilet paper it was to late . The dead had been done . After trying to get someone's attention , anyone's attention for some paper to clean myself . I had to raise my voice in order to get someone's attention yelling " toilet paper , I need toilet paper !" A barista responded with . " can you tone it down sir " knowing my call for help had been heard I replied . " can you throw me a roll of toilet paper " I' was in shock when she responded with " no sir , I'm going to ask you to leave .. " I could only laugh and say " I need paper to clean myself miss" ... frustrated with the dirty bathroom and lack of help I exited the bathroom and hurried into another to clean myself . By then the local San Dimas sharif was waiting for me . To ask to exit premises " after some local dialogue and laughs the sheriff and I agreed with I had done nothing wrong .,however since the barista feeling had been jeopardized from me yelling for help in bathroom . The sheriff and I shook hands as I left premises.. .... I'm mellow and don't like conflict so I left . Just walked the dogs and stopped at this Starbucks for a vanilla sweet cream cold brew & a pup cup! The staff are always friendly and while waiting for my order a customer had an issue with their drink Sydni went out of her way to fix the problem and just between you and I the problem was really on the customer who didn't know what she ordered. The drink was made right the 1st time BUT the barista like I said went out of her way to make sure the customer got what she really wanted. The inside is clean and they kept the traffic flowing! Our office normally orders a couple of times a week at this location. It is iffy, at best, on your drink quality as other posters have noted as well. The orders are wrong about 25% of the time. But as of our last order we will no longer be using this location. I'd rather wait in a much longer line than get ripped off. Apparently light water means half a cup of coffee? I would understand even if it was a little less, but half a cup? Seriously HALF.
