Bad customer service. I was excited to try the new brown sugar oatmeal espresso. We came to order and asked for light ice. The young lady told us she would give us 2/3 less to drink if we ordered this and when we asked her to clarify she told us to just "get out." When the drinks were ready she simply left them on a table outside without announcing it was ready. The drinks themselves were not all fully mixed. My favorite Starbucks location yet and it's conveniently right next to my school. Super friendly staff that greets me right as I enter through the door. The minute I'm there they are ready to take my order. Their selection of pastries, sandwiches, and snacks are always stocked. I always see staff cleaning up so the place is spotless. My drinks come out fast (depending on if I get the morning rush or not), correct, and delicious. I love how spacious the store is with tables and chairs - plenty of seating inside and out. It's located around some good places like Pizza My Heart and Iguanas. Only downside is the compact parking. read more

Okay now i haven't been to starbucks in a few months but this place is an absolute joke. Came in for a simple frap but spent 21 minutes watching individuals order after me and leave before me. 7:16 entered store was only person in line and they made me wait 5 minutes before i ordered. 7:21 Finally ordered .Took a seat . Saw 4 people order drinks and leave before me . Apparently one of the workers son came in and ordered two drinks as well and a sandwich and left . 7:37 finally received my damn midnight mint mocha frap. This is one of my go-to Starbucks. I'm not addicted, nor do I think coffee is all that great, in general. But their Passion Tea is something else entirely! Love it! They also got me to try it mixed with their lemonade, which is also quite good, if you enjoy your tea sweetened. I prefer the Venti Passion Tea, no syrup, light water. It's pretty concentrated, but definitely not too strong, with a slight berry flavor (and nice rosy color). If it's cold out, it's the Peppermint Mocha, all the way. And to those of you who think this is only seasonal, it's not...they have it year-round (since they have the peppermint syrup year-round), they just hype it up more around the holidays. I wish I could just say "small, medium or large" without getting corrected or smiled at, but I guess when in Starbucks, use Starbucks lingo (or else they'll look at you like you've been living under a rock for ten years...it's actually sort of funny). read more

One of the slowest Starbucks I've been to I my life! Also probably one of th the worst locations when it comes to customer service. Ordered 2 drinks and 1 piadina, and it took about 20 min to get our whole order. The place was not even crowded! 5 min after we got our drinks, I ask where my food was because people that ordered after us started getting their food. The guy said "Oh its coming". I decided to be patient, but when a customer that came in 10 min after us got her food, I was livid. I asked once again, and another guy said "Oh we ran out of bags, uh sorry"... How do you run out of things at 9 am? Don't give me a BS excuse. I waited a few more minutes to ask AGAIN where my food was and this time the lady actually checked, and my food wasn't even in line to get heated up. They just missed the order. SERIOUSLY? And instead of apologizing and comping me for something, a free drink? Free food? She just shoves the same food into my hands. This Starbucks is not up to the standards of the rest. Just because your location is located in a ritzy area, doesn't mean you have to give that kind of snooty attitude to the customers. We pay you guys to serve us, and I expect to be treated with respect and grab something quick and go! With that amount of time, I could have just gone back to my bf's place made a latte myself and saved myself from being disrespected and my $10 I paid for my order. read more

Staff are nice and all. But cleanliness could be improved. Tables aren't always clean, bathrooms are terribly dirty too. Usually no soap as well so i wonder if the baristas wash their hands properly after using the bathroom. No toilet paper too at times and the sink is incredibly dirty. I hope they clean up a little bit more. read more

I went to get a vanilla bean frap, took a sip and felt something solid and hard in my mouth. I assumed it was ice but I couldn't break it out which turns out to be a plastic shard. I'm disappointed especially I never haven't starbucks for awhile and the drink also tasted watered down. :/ read more

As a former barista myself, I know exactly how drinks should be made, and how long it should take. I'll concede that perhaps the barista was training when I was there, but I had an iced tea, and it took way too long. The iced teas are pre-made, all you need to do pour it and ice it. Syrup if requested. I try not to be a snob, because I was once a great, fast barista. My drink of choice used to be a 1 pump Sugar Free Hazelnut, 1 pump Sugar Free Vanilla, 1 pump Toffee Nut, double tall, soy iced latte(Try it!). Anyway, take more than 2 mins. to "make" my iced tea and I'm way annoyed. I didn't order a freakin' cappucino. Other than my own experience, the place is fine, usual Starbucks, decent amount of seating, but it's very close to Evergreen Valley College so it's quite crowded sometimes. Merchandise selection is not that great either. read more

I love Starbucks and usually I've never had any complaints or any bad experience with the level of customer service. We were in the area so we decided to grab some coffee and the customer service was horrible. I went back inside to ask for a cup of iced water (after we had already paid and got our items) and one of the staff member said I needed to get in line.. which is fine. So I get in line and asked for water. 15 mins later.... I see the water was ready but sitting in line with the other drinks. My sister goes back to asked if she could get the water, the barista picked it up and sets it back down and tells her "there are drinks in front of yours". You kidding me? He couldn't hand it to her when he picked it up? He was extremely rude. He should not be working there if he hates being nice. She stood there and asked him "seriously?" Three times. Then he finally handed her the water. LOL Then he makes a comment about how students just come in and ask for free water? That was irrelevant because we purchased food and drinks beforehand and we are not students! It's not like we didn't purchase anything and just went to ask for a free cup of water. Long story short, no common sense and rudeness gives it a 2 star. It should only be 1 but I'm being nice. Starbucks, you should hire better customer service. At least at this location. Came in, there was no line. I walked up to the counter and there was one barista at the register kind of aimlessly staring at something behind the counter and to the right there were three baristas having a side convo about something. The one by herself walks off and grabs a bag and turns her back to me. So I continued to stand there one long minute still not being greeted or acknowledged. Ummmmmm if i didn't need this caffeine fix, I would've already been out of the door. Finally one of three having the side convo decided to do her job and take my order. All it takes is a simple, "I'll be with you in a minute" or "I'll be with you shortly" so that a customer feels acknowledged in your place of business. It takes literally five seconds to do that. Customer service 101, without us spending our hard earned dollars you wouldn't have jobs. Do better baristas!!! read more

My favorite Starbucks location in Eastside SJ! Friendly servers, and nice place to study. I would say the background music is sometimes loud to talk, but not bad! I've been going here for a few years, and I've never had any issues with wrong orders etc. Sometimes food takes longer if there's a line, so I usually don't order food. Chocolate croissants here have a hint of dark chocolate, for chocolate lovers. I like my coffee sweet and STRONG. So, I usually get a tall triple shot iced white mocha. Generally: Tall (Small) has one espresso shot, Grande (Medium) has two, & Venti (Large) has three. FREE AT&T WIFI. Now they have automatic ads before you can sign onto the wifi. I miss the days were Gold Starbucks card members get add-ons for free. Being lactose intolerant, I need my soy milk. They charge now. Sad face. read more

What a great find-- I honestly drive out of my way to go to this Starbucks! The location is luxuriously spacious and has never been too crowded during the numerous occasions when I have visited. The staff is young, hip, and super friendly! They were COMPLETELY SWEET when I plastered my freshly made drink all over the floor like a dumb ass, and very graciously cleaned up my mess up and made me a new one. The staff clearly takes pride in their work, and never messes up my usually-complicated drink. I see a lot of mixed reviews on this page, but I give this location a solid five stars because the atmosphere is ideal, the staff provides excellent customer service, and the product is consistently good. I come to this Starbucks quite often, and it must be said that many of the complaints people have listed on this page are absolutely ridiculous. *********College being the drama-scene that it is: please bear in mind that this location's staff is mostly college students, due to its close proximity to EVC. This review page is a classic example of how personal conflicts can overpower the validity of the business being judged on yelp. I find it amusing that several reviewers on this page exhibit youth and immaturity, and the nature of their reviews indicate personal vendettas against the employees at this Starbucks. As entertaining as this little-Starbucks-war may be, I don't believe that the childish grudges these said reviewers are holding should take away from the many delights afforded by this Starbucks. This place is great. Talk about service with a smile...these baristas are more than happy to take your order and expeditiously serve your beverage. The outside area has chairs and umbrellas which is a nice spot to chill with your bevvy round sunset. The inside may seem like your typical 'Bucks but what gets me going back is the customer service. The place can get busy at times but it's something to be expected at a Starbucks. I'm not sure why so many people rate this place under three stars but every time I come here whether its to do some light reading or to simply satiate my caffeine cravings, I always receive great customer service. read more

Starbucks was my second home as a SJSU college student. (oh how I miss those days!) I was a regular at several locations, however this location topped the charts for me. If they had check-ins back then, I'd probably check in more than 7 times a week (lol). Great location, great ambiance, friendly baristas, great service overall and all the other regulars are very welcoming (in my experience). I was a moderate coffee drinker (unless finals were in due time), but I was a sucker for tea!!! I love how they have sugar-free hazelnut syrup and samples every so often. They've got great coffee/tea variety, but what I love most is the atmosphere and layout. Windows face westward so it catches the sun setting. Parking is usually congested, but there a few spots on the further side. Majority of the people here are college students which is expected because Evergreen Valley College is right around the corner. Also from time to time senior citizens from the assisted living facilities (across the street) come to enjoy their fix, so be a good samaritan and help them as needed (open doors etc). Even though my college days are long gone, I'm sure I'll be checking in here often, especially now that I'll be starting work soon :) read more

Hmm. Hmmmm. As much as I want to "up-star" this store, like a new romance, I cannot seem to see any sparks flying when I come to this Starbucks. Maybe I need to visit a few bit more? This is my go-to store after my Farmers Market Sundays...so that should be often enough. The staff here is not bad...but not spectacularly extraordinary. Then again, I do not live any close to this vicinity. This Starbucks is clean. They have plenty of seating and I know I have hung out here with a friend or two a few times in the past. I don't recall having my drinks messed up here. I like the soft chair by the door. Oh ... parking isn't all that marvelous. On certain days, it can be a little difficult AND on those days , they would often fall on the ones where I am more of my bratty self. So I guess it doesn't help either one. This place is right next to my house. Some days when i am talking a shower getting ready for work, I am craving a Iced Chai Tea. So i come to this Starbucks since it is the closets one to my house. The people here are weird. Some days there is no one in line, which makes it great. Other days it is understaffed and you have to wait 20-30 minutes for a drink. I mean this isn't hard people, your suppose to know how to do this fast. Sometimes they even forget to call out your drink or forgot to hand you your warm sandwich. I mean it's pretty fucking pathetic. I have restored to going to McDonald's near by in the morning for coffee since it is faster and a little bit better service. read more

This store has one of the friendliest staffs of any Starbucks I visit. They are almost always smiling and enjoy interacting with and talking to the customers. It is close to Evergreen College so can get very busy when school is in session, so be prepared for long lines at times. Even so, they staff appropriately so you can still usually get in and out of this store in under 10 minutes even when they are busy. read more

Literally just ordered a caramel macchiato with soy milk but the caramel and coffee was missing. I don't understand how one forgets caramel or coffee. I order this all the time so I know. I only come here when staying with a friend in san jose. Seems like your average suburban starbucks in terms of decor. It's clean and roomy. Staff is super friendly. My only complaint is they are sooo slow here. There were about 4 people ahead of us and it took forever to get through to the register! It seems like they spent 5 mins per person! Okay I may be exaggerating a little, but honestly, I should be able to get in and out quickly. I'm not a huge fan of their coffee (it's a little weak for my taste and their version of a cappuccino is more like a latte in my opinion), so that's the only thing I really expect! read more

This an awesome Starbucks location. The baristas are super friendly. They are patient with customers who need a little extra time ordering. They are generous with syrups etc when making the beverages. There is plenty of space to sit indoors as well as outdoors. The parking lot close to the Starbucks is a little tight and difficult to maneuver in (especially if you have a large car but if you are willing to walk from the larger part of the lot which is a bit further you can easily move your car. read more
