Came in today 9/19/17 for a quick iced tea lemonade. It was tough, as my order took a really long time. 10 minutes to wait is way over for a normal Starbucks. Kenzo was the barista on duty and he seemed to be new or in training. Plus, I must have come at a shift change, because the other employee with shoulder length blonde hair in a plaid shirt and jeans with the skull ring on his index finger was sweeping, then spent time behind the counter pouring himself a small coffee drink, meandered out and squeezed past the line of customers to grab himself creamer. DUDE...get back there and help your partner work himself out of the weeds!! Weak sauce. Always come to this location. Across street from college. Staff is always active, friendly, and provide courteous customer service. It's constant traffic of people and everyone coming in loves the atmosphere. Kudos to the staff for making this location special. Quick service, for how busy they are, you can tell they work hard to get everyone's orders ready. The management is great, she is very friendly and accommodating. Friday morning on April 1...I was hoping this was a joke but it wasn't. Our coffees were good as expected and our spinach feta wraps were good too. The baristas were less than thrilled to be working and had a give a crap attitude. When I visited the restroom they were out of toilet paper. My daughter went to the restroom and the same thing. She asked the barista pushing the orders out to replace the paper problem and he said he would. 10 minutes later an employee in her lunch break had to get more toilet paper for both restrooms. This is a small Starbucks with not a lot of space to study or get any work done. There is outside seating that is shared with other businesses in the area. They're always pretty fast and have never messed up an order for me. No drive thru here, but a plus is that I can go to the bank on my way to get coffee! This review is more for the location/service rather than the food and drinks, since it is pretty standard Starbucks quality. Located in the campus shopping plaza, this Starbucks is very convenient for students and local residents. There is a nice seating area outdoors that overlooks Twin Oaks Valley Road, but there is rather more limited seating on the interior. Service is ok -- not particularly speedy nor slow -- depends on the time you are there. This is my go-to place before hopping on the 78, or doing some errands in the plaza. read more

This starbucks is tucked away in a corner and has a long narrow interior but for the most part who cares because there is a HUGE outdoor area and for the most part its beautiful to sit outside with your drink. I liked this place because even though it was full house on a wed at 12 30 (lunchtime) they got the orders out very quick. I think my mother and I were waiting apx 5 minutes and there were at least six people ahead of us. Drinks were hot and good. read more

Well, they are quick here. I ordered my drink on the app while in the bathroom there and it was done when I got out LOL!!! However, my drink didn't taste right. I always order the same thing, and I usually get a consistent drink, so I know something is different. Anyway, they didn't forget my Sriracha with my sandwich so that's nice because it happens so often at other Starbucks'. This starbucks seems to be poorly managed and have employees working that don't care. I placed a mobile order that was done completely wrong. The holiday flat had the full three pumps of sweetener when we reduced it to one. The grande Americano seemed like it has one shot of espresso as opposed to three. We didn't think to try before leaving because it's rare to have a mobile order done incorrectly. I will not be going back to this location. It's obvious that a drink is sweetened by the number of calories listed on the menu 3. That a Tea Latte has more than tea and steamed milk (think coffee latte, nothing but coffee and latte) 4. The customer should have ordered a "tea misto" (especially when it's not on the menu) 4. The customer won't google the next coffee shop and not return to this location in the future (Ryan Bro's Coffee, less than 1 mile away) After this delightful experience of subpar service, I returned my drink. One server stated that they would "take care of it". The employees here are super sweet and kind. I'm here most week day mornings before school, and the employees are always super polite and friendly with everyone. My drinks are always amazing here as well. I've yet to have a drink that wasn't perfection since coming here almost every week day morning starting early January. Worst Starbucks experience in a while. Mobile ordered after I picked up a prescription at Kaiser. Came down the hill found parking walked in stores busy. It's located by Cal State San Marcos so that's understandable. Use the restroom and checked on my order they hadn't even started making it. Waited longer than some of the people that came in to order at the counter. The handoff bar is soaked in Coffee so every cup sat there left stained. Very disappointed and will not be returning. It's the kind of dirt and greasy finger prints that's been caked on for months. The counters were sticky and there was splatter on the barista glass. this is the closest Starbucks to me, so naturally i'm here pretty much every morning to start my day with an iced coffee. it's a little smaller than other Starbucks that have a bit more of a seating area as there aren't as many couches or tables, but there is a good amount of outside seating in the front courtyard area that this location shares with other businesses in the shopping center. everyone here's pretty friendly, always greeting people by their first names and generating conversation while they wait in line. CSUSM is right across the street so there are peak times when there's more than a few people waiting in line to order drinks, but the staff is always on it so there's never too long of a wait in line. -civilities. read more

Significantly smaller storefront compared to other nearby Starbucks, but this is the one closet to campus, though not actually on campus. Though it lacks in size, it makes up for it in convenience.
