I went shopping at Vons last night around 5:30pm (01/23/2024). There was a younger girl working at the Starbucks, I forgot her name, but I know employee punch cards are a thing, so this can still be addressed internally. The girl was wearing a black hoodie and that's really all I can recall. I approached the counter with a smile and was pretty excited to order my drink because, as I told my boyfriend when I walked up to order, I've been wanting matcha all week and this was the closest I've been to a Starbucks in a while, so I figured I'd get one. #1) I stood at the counter and smiled at the girl working. She glanced at me, scoffed, and turned around to wash the counter then proceeded to wash her hands... I waited, she did not greet me or look in my direction after she saw me approach the counter. Her attitude towards me from the beginning seemed like I was a HUGE inconvenience for her?? #2) Once she approached me at the counter, she continued to not look at me. She was looking at the monitor in front of her. I thought this was weird because I'm an inviting person. She did not say hello or anything, she said "what can I get for you" in a tone that made me feel as if I was bothering her but still never looked up to speak to me. It was 5:31pm when I went to this Starbucks. Per her demeanor, I asked what time they closed, because if they had just closed, I wasn't going to order anything due to her attitude I didn't want to frustrate her further if she was in the middle of closing. She said they close at 7pm. I asked if they take mobile pay, she said "yes". I said, "ok sweet" and ordered my drink. I paid and stood by the pickup counter to wait for my drink. (I ordered a Grande Iced Matcha Latte with no adjustments) As I was waiting, I was thinking about how absurd my interaction with this girl had been and If I was crazy for feeling mistreated a as paying customer due to the interaction. #3) I then saw another girl approach the counter, she was younger, maybe around the same age as the girl working. The worker greeted the girl, said hello, took her order and had a good attitude towards this customer... the complete opposite experience from what she gave me just moments before. Side note: I was not feeling very confident when I went to get a few things from the store, but my boyfriend insisted I go with him, so I did. (I didn't have my hair or makeup done and I was in sweats. This is my local grocery store, I shop here all the time, and I've never had a negative interaction here besides this day so I wasn't too worried about feeling judged as it was a quick grocery run) How the Starbucks employee treated me as a customer made me feel so bad about myself, I started to cry and was very much in my head after I left and continued to shop for what I needed around the store. I told my boyfriend, maybe it's because I'm not pretty and that's why she was so mean, didn't want to look at me to take my order, and made me feel like a huge inconvenience to even be ordering anything from her. I stood in one of the isles after this to collect myself and I felt I never wanted to shop at this Vons again by how bad this one employee made me feel. VERY UNWELCOMING.... I was in a great mood last night! Then I went to this Starbucks, and it ruined my entire night and to my shock negatively impacted my mental health. I really hope NOONE (including those who struggle with depression) has to be subjected to this kind of absurdity and mistreatment when spending their hard-earned money on something that is comforting to them but definitely not necessary... LASTLY, the drink I ordered (Iced matcha latte) was not even good... I walked around the store with my drink after taking a few sips and realized it was gross (no flavor, just tasted like milk), so I wanted to wait till I was done shopping to go back to the Starbucks to get my drink fixed. I was really hoping she would not be the employee still at the Starbucks, but she was, so I avoided going back and just threw the drink I paid for away... I'm sure losing 1 customer isn't a big deal, but this kind of customer service may run away a lot of your customers. I hope some type of action is taken to prevent others from going through what I did... at a Starbucks of all places... this was very disheartening. read more

Speedy and helpful once I knew the proper name for my drink. Called it the cold something and they said sorry we can't help you. So I described what the drink was and they said "oh you mean the medicine ball" he started making it and said they don't have the peach tea that goes in it and was able to substitute for another kind of tea so I said sure. This Starbucks is located inside the Von's super market. I stopped in for a Grande Americano with a touch of room. The Americano was spot on. It was smooth, rich, and full of robust flavor. I added some half and half and a little raw sugar and I was set. One thing that is very cool about this Starbucks in Vons, is that it is the first one, I have ran into, that has seating to relax. Today I Walked from the bank as I needed the kennel and it was a nice day for a water. A table had a free water but no attendant. Instead I asked if Starbucks still provides a free water and Izzy responded " Why yes we do!" She was with a fellow employee working inventory? Any hoe she gladly asked and provided and she represented the Starbuck name well as I love my mocha and Izzy's services with kindness and smiles. read more

I'm very disappointed in the employee (Courtney) here working this Thursday early morning, I cannot even give her 2 stars I would give 0 if that was a option, She was very rude there was nobody there but me when i first got there. I asked her about a drink i was trying to find the name of it i tried it before i explained to her, I thought it was a toasted Marshmallow/White Chocolate or something close to that i said its cream based, She said very rudely all of our drinks can be cream based this doesn't help me one bit not that she even tried. I started shooting off some names of possible drinks she just shook her head and asked me if i was finished yet, I was literally shocked she was so rude, I then just settled for what i usually do. But her working in a place where she has to interact all day with people she should be more welcoming and nice, She could of just told me she has no idea what drink i'm talking about nor did she want to help me figure it out. I would of respected that a lot more then her being rude, Which she was the entire time i was there, Another customer actually came up while i was waiting for my drink Courtney wasn't very nice to him either. Worst coffee ever made for me here. I ordered 2 cold brew 1/2 eggnog 1/2 and one with cinnamon and the girl that made it was so rude and I saw her about to open lid to add cinnamon to my second cold brew eggnog coffee and I stopped her... also it didn't taste like any eggnog was added and just terrible service from her it was the worst Starbucks experience. Some drinks are very delicious like the pink drink and the Açai refresher but I find that the coffee can be quite bitter more times than not

My coffee was great but the girl who helped me was hella rude. I said "Hi, how are you" and she just stared at me like I was an alien. She looked annoyed until I just ordered a cold brew. I guess maybe she didn't wanna make anyone's espresso drinks? He hat and apron were dirty and dingy. I'm actually glad it was the other worker who made my drink. This Starbucks line takes at least 30 min. I have came here multiple times and have experienced the same problem. No one has 30 min to waste waiting in line. The iced coffee I got was watered down so bad that I had to throw it away. I'm a regular Starbucks and I know when it tastes wrong. Its seems like their constantly hiring new people and not showing them the right way to make coffee. read more

I've gone there several times and every time I ask myself why did I come back!!!!! They NEVER get my order right!!! When I ask for an ice tea I expect ice in with the tea!!!! I have been coming here in the mornings to get my wife a tall cafemisto with one splenda and one pump of pumpkin spice flavoring. The price I get charged has been different everyday. One day it was $2.85. Another day it was $2.55. This morning it was $3.15. The barista this morning was not the warm, perky staff member you usually see at Starbucks, which could account for the fact that she charged me 60 cents for only one pump of pumpkin spice flavor. When I brought up the pricing inconsistency, the staff member kind of just shrugged me off like it really did not matter. I choose my battles, and I would rather just keep quiet so as not to make a scene. My wife loves the coffee, so I will pay whatever. What I don't understand is that none of the employees ever tried to correct the price inconsistency problem or ask a manager what I should be charged. So now when I go in there in the morning, I have no idea what the cup of coffee is going to cost me. In the past, Starbucks has always been good about offering a free cup of coffee when they make a mistake, without my even asking for it. read more

Finally about 15 minutes I decided to go check on it and it looks like the drink had already been sitting out I look at them and asked them if it was mine and they all just made a rude face and turned around. It's a Starbucks, so there really is no question about the quality, it's consistent with all the others. But the service is lacking, starting with the manager. We do go to this loaction often, purely out of convenience. I want to start by saying the Precious is one of 2 employees there that I really like. But even those 2 employees have a change in attitude when the manager is there, they become almost robot like. Unfortunately the managers name escapes me at the moment. We have been patronizing this starbucks way before she was promoted to manager and was shocked when she was given the position. Her attitude is poor, her affect is detached and her general treatment of customers is very unwelcoming. She has zero people skills and couldn't care less if her employees or customers are happy. Today's visit was enough for me to decide to take my business elsewhere. She was as rude as ever, didn't bother to make eye contact [as usual] and literally rolled her eyes and said "what do u want?", rang it up and walked away without another word. As if that wasn't bad enough, she got one out of the two drinks wrong, therefor I was over charged by about $3. Of course I didn't realize until we had walked out. I went back to say something when I realized my drink and receipt was wrong and she shrugged her shoulders and said that's not what she heard me order. Love this location. It's my first choice out of the 4 Starbucks in Santee. I love the friendliness and how they remember their regular customers order. Ashley is my favorite Barista and makes the BEST Double Shots. This location is the only location in Santee that every employee knows how to make a Double Shot the RIGHT way.... read more
