Restrooms sinks are so filthy that is it utterly unbelievable how third world cafe hygiene is becoming. The baristas are always in a rush to make beverages. Coffee crunch did not taste right and was very watery. There were dogs sitting on the sofas and nobody from the cafe had the guts to tell the owners to take them off the seating. Respect should be number one and that goes both ways, customer and the ownership should be both held accountable to give a loyal paying customer an amazing first class experience instead of ingesting doggie hair when they sit and try to enjoy a coffee. read more

I really like this location at Kierland Commons. I usually get the Matcha Frappuccino but decided to get out of my comfort zone and ordered the mocha cookie crumble Frappuccino knowing I was going to regret it as it's pretty calorific. But nope, I thoroughly enjoyed it as it was so delish and satisfying. This location seems like a great place to hang out and even work from home. Stopped in for drinks. Today was a Father's Day BOGO. I got my usual of an Expresso Frappuccino. The store is spacious, and enough tables and chairs for people to sit, relax, and enjoy their drinks/food. The service was super friendly and nice! My wife ordered a mocha Latte (hot)...in Scottsdale in the scorching heat of 106 degrees! The barista laughed but said, "her sister does the same thing." read more

I have had multiple terrible Customer Service experiences here, from orders being made incorrectly to being treated poorly over and over again. I would avoid this location at all costs. Their staff seems too incompetent to handle the morning rush, and I'm convinced that the only reason that they have measurable business traffic is because it's the closest Starbucks in the neighborhood. Several young people work here that are rude, come across entitled, and appear as if they are inconvenienced to do the bare minimum of the job they're being paid for. Management team is no better. At one point I even spoke with the district manager because the customer service experience I received was so bad, they sent me a gift card, and it's been a year and I still haven't used it all the way through because going there first thing in the morning is easily one of the most surefire ways to mess up your entire day. I hadn't been here in several months and decided to go back, and after one experience, I remember why I stopped coming here. There are other coffee shops in the area that actually treat their customers well, have adequate product inventory to serve their patrons, and know how to treat people with kindness and decency. Head to one of those spots instead! read more

I preordered 2 drinks when I showed up one drink was completed. The second drink was just a coffee and took another 10 minutes to get. I saw it sitting behind the counter with no one noticing it needed to be put out for customer pick up. There was no cream and I asked two people for cream. The finally filled the cream and again left it on the back counter. I asked if I could just have the cream and was told I needed to ask nicer. They finally gave it to me and then loudly complained about me when I was using the cream. I have never experienced this sort of treatment from a restaurant. read more

I was in this morning and had an amazing experience!! All baristas were working very hard. As I was waiting for my drink, a woman started belittling the staff for a sleeve after being informed they were out. Her dog then jumped up on the counter and when asked to get her dog off for food safety, she started cussing the baristas out. I then watched her walked outside and yell "F* YOU" over and over. It was very embarrassing. Her name was Cassandra and she actually left a review. I felt very sorry for the workers there cause I've never seen an old woman act like that before. She clearly has some unresolved anger issues. read more

I know the people working there were trying their best but they need more training and they seemed overwhelmed. I waited 40 min for my drink. Alot of people were unhappy and were waiting a long time as well. One lady got a refund because she was waiting too long. I think there was a mix up and somebody took my drink. Worst customer service by "acting" manager Benjamin. I am disappointed in his inability to use discretion with the "rules" of the store regarding "sleeping". My husband closed his eyes while sitting next to me while I ate and drank food/beverages purchased at the store.... Benjamin proceeded to get my husbands attention and scolded him for sleeping. I am well aware the rule is in regards to transient occupying the lobby and seeping, as this is a problem in our city. That was not this. A well dressed, paying customer sitting upright at a table next to his wife who was on her computer (not lying on the table, or on the ground, or in a random chair of the store), simply closing his eyes and dozing off. I am also well aware of policy, and how it may apply to specific settings. There's also something called discretion and exceptions to policy. It may have been a good time to use such an idea. Ben may want to spend more time on valuable customer service and environmental conditions like replacing the empty toilet paper discovered in his bathroom. I have been a customer at this store since it opened and have never received such poor service. read more

This is one of the comfier, roomier Starbucks with nice couch seating, lounge chairs and work tables. Barista service is excellent-professional, courteous and communicate well. The only negative is they close at 6pm....9 or 10pm would be better since it's located in a popular shopping center. read more

Ordered via mobile order, picked it up. Drove several miles and started to drink my coffee only to realize the batista made a totally different drink and put it on my cup labeled with the correct drink. The drink that was not correct was actually pretty nasty and heavily tasted of cinnamon. The drink I ordered does not have cinnamon. Called the store and they would not credit the wrong drink back. On Saturday June 7th I visited this location 15 minutes before closing. I entered and walked up to take my order. I asked for a venti black iced tea and she seemed very mad at me for ordering before she closed up for the night. When it went to the tip screen Madyson repeatedly told me to tip her. I was extremely put off by this interaction and felt very uncomfortable. I then proceeded to wait for my drink and she started acting very strange behind the counter and making rude comments about coming in before closing. She wouldn't serve me the drink herself until her friendly coworker finally decided to make my drink. My friend ordered a trenta water from her and she made multiple comments about how he shouldn't come in before closing. When she served the water to him she served him 3 little cups. When asked about the trenta water she said he doesn't get it because he ordered before closing. When he went to grab the waters he accidentally knocked one over and she proceeded to grumpily complain about his accident. This Starbucks is conveniently close and it's nice to pop into when shopping in Kierland Commons. It's a smaller Starbucks which I prefer to the larger drive through ones. I had the new Dragon Fruit drink and it was surprisingly good. Not too sweet which I thought it would be and I really liked this non caffeinated drink option. I rarely leave yelp reviews but had a very interesting interaction this morning. I frequent this Starbucks quite often as my apartment is right next to it. I walk my dog in the morning and stop by Starbucks before work - no problem. Today I was told by an employee that they do not allow dogs (while I'm next in line) so obviously I ask if I can just order? Keep in mind the other employees are complimenting and acknowledging my dog. She say yes that's fine but you will have to wait for your drink outside and we will bring it out - no problem. I continue to wait 5-10 minutes outside and realize my drink has been sitting on the counter. I was late for work and no one ever came out to bring my drink so I walk in to grab it. After calling to voice my concern I was told "at least we let you order." I understand rules and will follow as necessary but from a service standard perspective - horrible. Black Rock and Press are just as good and way better service. read more

They ran out of dark roast and wanted to blend my coffee with Pike. (this happens regularly at the store) I wanted to get to work and left with my less than satisfactory coffee. When I got to the office I picked up the coffee and the lid was not securely fastened. It spilt it all over my crotch, drivers seat and center console. I fried two remotes- one that can't be replaced because the opener is 25 years old. The coffee didn't scald me but was hot enough to burn. I called the store to complain and the "manager" made me re-tell my story to the real manager and all I got out of her was "Sorry about that"! There are too many coffee competitors to put up with this BS. I plan to never go to another Starbucks. Incompetent. read more

So, at this point we've all formed an opinion of what we think of Starbucks coffee? Either it floats your boat or doesn't. Coming from the Pacific Northwest, I was use to a wide selection of different coffee places, Tully's and Peet's (where it all began) for example; or any of the number of small coffee shacks that seem to be on every corner in greater Seattle. But here in the Valley, unless you're willing to track down a Fry's Marketplace to find a Tully's, you'll need to settle for Starbucks. Now that I've gotten that out out of the way, I have a love hate relationship with this Starbucks location. I come here several times each day, or to the Press Coffee across Scottsdale Road. The Baristas are great, very friendly and rarely if ever get my order wrong. What is frustrating is what I call the Internet moochers. Because of Starbuck's free WiFi policy, there is never a place to sit inside and enjoy your drink and read the paper. Or, God forbid, getting up and ordering a refill. People will pounce on that seat! It was different before they changed the policy and made WiFi free. Don't get me wrong, some days it's actually pretty good. But for the most part it's a bear getting a seat and what is the capacity here? 50, maybe 75? That's a lot of customers drinking Mr. Schultz's version of Peet's coffee! So I would guess this is one of the largest, certainly most profitable stores in the greater Phoenix area. Why change the business model if it isn't broken, right? Well in the beginning, when Mr. Schultz took over the marketing at Peet's, he wanted to recreate that coffee house feeling that he found in Paris. The feeling I have here is of a college library on caffeine. A lot of laptops open, but not a lot of coffee being drank. So, if you're on the run and just want to grab a Cup of Joe, then this is your best bet in the Kierland area. But, if you want to order your brew, sit down and read the paper, or just enjoy a conversation with your neighbor -- try Press Coffee across Scottsdale Road and the real life version of Frogger getting there. This Starbucks isn't bad, it's just always insanely busy. That being said, I'm still here! For those of us in North Scottsdale who work from home, this is definitely a convenient spot. Seating can be hard to come by, especially before 10 am, so plan accordingly. Make sure you keep an eye out for your drink and who was in front of you because sometimes people walk off with drinks that aren't theirs and you end up waiting forever. read more

Just came home from a visit to this Starbucks on Christmas Eve! Thank you to the girls for working so hard and being incredibly kind to me (and working on this holiday!) Stopped by after some late holiday shopping and thought I should pick up some drinks for family at home. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and the young girl up front was super nice and patient with me as I had some app complications, and gave me great drink recommendations as well! I was handed my 4 drinks with a smile by another gal and left with a farewell. I usually go to Starbucks drive thrus and I'm in and out without so much as a "welcome in " or "have a nice day" so this was such a nice change of pace :) read more

This location is one hot mess! I'm visiting from Charlotte and needed some much needed energy! I took my sister with me so we could get something together and walk around the area. She lives right down the street and comes here all the time. When we came in, the line was out the door. This place was packed. No one knew where to stand. The door was being blocked. It was very loud. Lots of things going on all at once. This is a very small location. All the Starbucks in Charlotte are at least double the size. We both ordered a large mocha cookie crumble. The lady taking our order was super friendly. Once we ordered, we had to stand again in another mosh of people. Small corner to stand and wait for your drinks. Our drinks took about 25 minutes to make which is just insane. Thank goodness the ones in Charlotte aren't this bad. But again location, location, location. read more

The perfect study spot or meet-up place with friends before/after a day of shopping! This Starbucks is located in Kierland, right in between P.F. Chang's and Snooze. I've been coming to this location since it first opened years ago. I've spent a lot of days here studying and applying for colleges/grad schools. The staff are always kind, the store itself is clean, and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I came in today (Monday after Christmas), and it was really busy around 10am. I ordered a turkey bacon and egg sandwich and an iced cappuccino. The sandwich came out quickly, but my drink took at least 10-15 minutes. It got to the point where I had to awkwardly ask the barista if they had forgotten about my drink. However, I understand the staff were really busy and overwhelmed, especially since it's the holidays. My sandwich and drink both came out perfectly and how I like them. I have been to Starbucks all over this wonderful continent of ours....and this may be one of the best of them all. So let me set the scene for you because for you TRUE Starbucks fans you will understand what I am saying. Picture yourself walking into Starbucks.....the smell of the coffee drinks being made....dimly lit room.....tables and chairs for all of those who want have there latte's,....tea....coffee....iced coffee...mocha's.....pastries......ipads.....laptops....cellphones....etc....Then BLAM THOSE HUGE LINES....PEOPLE WALKING BETWEEN YOU AND OVER YOU BECAUSE THE COUNTER IS RIGHT NEARBY AND YOUR LIKE ARRRRRRRHHHHH. However those days are a thing of the past at this location. There is plenty of outdoor seating.....nice dimly lit room as usual.....tons and I mean tons of space and outlets for that matter for you to get digitally plugged in no matter what kind of device you have.....and then BLAM.....ooooohhhh wait I got ya there...LOL. There is no BLAM because the "digital" space you have to work with is at least 20 feet from the counter.....and while it does get busy here....you won't really notice a crowd unless your absolutely paying attention to the crowd only. The service is awesome....the coffee drinks are awesome as always.....and trust me they really do keep the line moving. I was really impressed with the size of this location....I have not seen one bigger....I was also impressed with all of the "digital" space and outdoor seating......have not seen more anywhere........I was also impressed with the service....I was also impressed.....WAIT.....I think you get my drift.....I WAS IMPRESSED PERIOD. I really like this Starbucks. The service is always quick and friendly and their is plenty of exterior seating, including outdoor sofas as well as traditional metal tables. The problem is that while the interior is spacious and very well appointed, it's really difficult to get a seat inside. I suppose we can't fault them for their popularity though! read more

Stopped in for a coffee while waiting for our table next door at Snooze. Quite a few tables and chairs to sit outside and pretty spacious inside.
