Devoid of life, soul and any unique presence. However, I'm not really here to write about a drab exterior but coffee! Let's go inside, shall we? Summit coffee establishment is located is on the outskirts of Nexton proper, easily accessible by foot and with a sterile atmosphere. One oddity I noticed is the place doesn't smell of coffee, which I found interesting. Sadly the inside is as lifeless as outside. It looks like a they paid a cleaner to remove all vestiges of life while only leaving a spec here or there to meet a quote. Ok, enough with aesthetics as I've complained enough, The staff is quick to help out and offer good suggestions when they're asked. Being a former comedian, I tried to whip up some jokes to compensate for my utter boredom, the ladies were nice enough to laugh. Needless to say, the women here had a heart. They made good suggestions but I was curious why their pastry display only had like a handful of items, did they make them or get them from the grocery store? I don't know but I was only here for coffee. I did like some of the creativity - a banana creampie latte - sounds like something.... Nevermind but all props for creativity. Birthday cake latte didn't sound good for the waistline but another attempt at creativity - I love it! But I opted to go for my own flavor. A lack of options for addins, I mean literally no hazelnut, almond etc. Well, I did the best I could - Latte with 2 shots caramel and 1 vanilla. I can honestly say it was "mid" at best. The roast didn't resonate while the lack of options made it feel so generic like I couldn't play the part of an evil scientist mixing a crazy concoction. But it beats McDonalds. Oh, they do have "the world's best granola" which I made several jokes about, even encouraging other customers by saying "if you were in France and ordered granola, they would talk about Summit's granola, after all it's the world's best!" Yes, I was being the overfriendly annoying customer, b/c I was bored. At least there were some laughs. Sadly, there's nothing about Summit that stands out. I hate saying that for local businesses but I want to be authentic. Stop by if .... Well, I'm not sure why so just stop by, I guess.

Talucci's Bakery is SO BACK!!…read more Lauren and I had the most delicious lunch there yesterday. I had the toasted Italian sandwich and she had the Caprese toasted sandwich. She also got an array of to die for bakery bits. So proud to support Charles M. A. Talucci and Jacklyn Talucci. They do such a great job with what they stock here. They are absolutely holding true to their promise of delivering AUTHENTIC Italian. Go Taluccis go!! They also have freshly baked breads, pastries, and Italian-inspired treats crafted with passion and precision. Pair your favorite with a cup of Ditta Artigianale coffee Italy's first specialty coffee, brewed to perfection. Can't wait till I can whatever I want here but my salad was delicious.

Bacon was thick and smoky, the roll had just the right "squish" and "chewiness" of a good hard roll, and it wasn't greasy or sloppy at all, which is exactly why I picked it. The Mediterranean salad was not quite what I expected, I thought it would involve black olives and feta cheese, but it had neither, and I appreciated that it was different and not too oily. The food prices feel a touch high but if you look at the quality of the food, and their use of premium ingredients, it is reasonable for what you get. Staff was friendly and good came out fast. There is a long table for bigger groups and small tables for up to four to sit. However, what tires my bones to the core is the inauthenticity of people that have taken over coffee culture; with their man-buns, little lap tops writing "the next great American novel," forearmed tattooed and blue haired activist that... Oh sorry, I got off topic a bit, shades of living in Austin TX. That said, I see the environment at Biggby set up to cater to those people, yet the new gen hippy takeover hasn't started. No, what I see from this dainty coffee bar are inviting pastel-colored walls, light toned wood chairs and tables, crayon inspired specials written on the windows and where ever along with their merch being pushed dead in front. It's an ok vibe in here and the people are simple, thus my whole rant about generation 3.14 isn't applicable here. As for the staff they're great and receptive of what you want to drink as well as giving suggestions. I got there when a lot of younger staff were working so I tried to spark up a conversation. Specifically, if she's tried Kopi Luwak (google it) and if she liked it. She had no idea what I was talking about so I switched to Taylor Swift, to which the conversation picked up. Concern for this generation resonated in my head, but hey at least we were talking, and she didn't ask to chat via snap chat! I kid... I kid. The staff here are very nice and they were playing 80s music (see how I dated myself?) which "I can name that song in three notes" and did. While I'm a medium roast coffee kind of guy and I like my coffee like the women I date; hot, sweet and blonde. I vary my selection by what I'm in the mood for, sometimes latte, sometimes hot or iced, sometimes mocha, you get the drift; and yes I'm talking about coffee (get your mind out of the gutter). But what I do appreciate is creativity in a beverage and a joint with the courage to put a creation on their menu. When I read the Butter bear latte stood out and I knew that was what I wanted. The butterscotch punched me in the mouth as a "you've never met someone like me before" love tap. The caramel snuck up from behind and smoothed out the experience while the coffee kept the band playing nice together. Scanning their menu, Biggby does commit to giving something different a real go and I applaud them for it. In summary, Biggby grinds their beans to order and this really enhances the quality of their coffee. Add to that they create an environment where one can feel safe while sitting inside or just stopping by with enthusiastic employees and it's a recipe for success. While I didn't sample their "edibles" (how's my parking?) they looked wonderful. To finish, the employees are great people, the ambiance is fun and the coffee is great. Stop by if you want something good to pick yourself up or rub elbows with a future leader of America.
