We choose this restaurant en route back from Turlock one afternoon mainly for the seafood options. To know: brunch and lunch served only on Saturday and Sunday, making reservations online is helpful but not necessary and comments about the waitstaff are true-they are professional, efficient and courteous. The start to my journey here was rough due to parking being a pain at this location. Once inside, my whole mood brightened. My friend saved me a seat at the bar where we had the best bartenders. We made it in a little after 5pm and the place was packed...parking is tricky so leave extra time if you have a reservation. They were having some sort of 2 for 1 special on their cocktails so I had their lavender French 75 it was balanced and had glitter...a fun surprise! I'm not a fan of pretzels, but I'm glad we tried it because it was one of the best ones I've had. It had a light crispy exterior and soft middle. The rock salt topping it was the perfect addition. The shrimp crostini were little bites of heaven. The crostinis are topped with shrimp and cheese and backed. How can you go wrong with that? We also ordered the salmon hash, but we're too full to truly enjoy it. I've been to this location before for a late lunch. I had their classic Caesar, which was nostalgia inducing. It brought back memories of table side Caesars at classic steakhouses. My sister got a shrimp pasta, which was delectable. Service was awesome! We were one of the first few customers in had our pick of tables in this elegant dining room with drop crystal chandeliers and gorgeous artwork. Our server went through the menu with us since it was technically the first time we were there for brunch they checked on us often and brought water refills. The restaurant is located in a strip mall which has Pig Latin, Hidden Dumpling and 18 Grams. The parking lot gets full because there are so many businesses in the area. Both were good, they're standard safe options. When there were no more chips our waitress had refilled them. For entrees we ordered the blackened salmon, clam linguine, clam chowder and a crab cake. I am very grateful to have gotten the appetizers because the food took an hour to come out. By then we were full from the appetizers. My son liked the blackened salmon that's also usually his safe choice. The clam linguine was good, I've been having a clam kick so this was a nice choice. The clams were healthy in size and the waitress asked if I'd like bread, I didn't realize that was another charge. The clam chowder and the crab cake we will definitely and completely pass on. After being seated, our initial server was largely absent. It took quite a while to receive waters, and one of the appetizers we ordered seemed to have been forgotten altogether. We felt overlooked and were starting to become disappointed. Fortunately, shortly after one of our two appetizers arrived, we were informed that Diana would be taking over our table--and from that moment on, everything changed. Happy Hour is available from 9pm to midnight with drink specials and $4 off appetizers. We had the calamari, crab cake, tuna tartar, blue points oysters, and sangria. Blackberry basil drink was tangy with a kick of basil. Everything tasted as expected. We'll need to go back and try out their brunch and dinner menu. Wow from the start I felt unwelcomed. This is our second visit to this location. We have been to the one downtown quite a few times. We didn't have a reservation but we found a spot to park right out front which is different since the parking is very bad in this strip mall. I came in and it was pretty empty. A person finally came up to us and asked if we had reservations and I told him we did not. He was going to a table and then another guy came up to him and said we would have to wait 7 minutes before being seated. I was put back some since the place was about empty. The guy that helped us first started setting up a table in the bar area but we waited. While standing there I was looking at the floor and noticed that it was not a finished flooring. It looked like a warehouse floor with a large crack going through it. Kind of dirty looking. If that was the look they were going for. Yuck After a minute I walked up to the bar which had a couple sitting at it. I asked the bartender if we could eat at the bar. He said we could and told us to have any seat. He was very nice and friendly , not like the man at the reception area. The way he said we had to wait felt like we didn't have reservation and we would have to wait then. Others came in after us and it looked like he made them wait to. At least he wasn't mean to just us or at least it looked that way. The bartender was a much better pick anyway. To start off the calamari was very well seasoned and had some deep fried jalapenos mixed in that were delicious and spicy. My second and third visits were much better, with attentive service and quality food. Unfortunately, things became inconsistent after that. On later visits, service started slipping, and some dishes were overly salty. This last visit was by far the worst. My family was visiting from Southern California, and they chose this restaurant. From the start, our server was largely absent and probably checked on our table only once. My sister and I ordered drinks, and after waiting an unusually long time, we had to follow up ourselves, only to realize the bartender hadn't even started making them. My brother ordered the lobster and steak, and the lobster arrived practically raw. I ordered the shrimp scampi, and the shrimp tasted freezer-burned and anything but fresh. It was incredibly disappointing. A manager did ask if they could make it right and give us dessert or another entree which I declined. They did take care of our drinks and entrees which was nice, but I would've rather had a great experience especially since my family were visiting and we were celebrating my nephews graduations and my daughter's birthday. At this point, I don't see myself returning. The inconsistency in both the food and service is just too much for me. We were seated promptly by our hostess and told that Angel would be our server. We were presented with menus and glasses of ice water. There's one large table inside, about 6 or 7 booths directly across from the bar with approximately 8 four top tables between the bar and the booths. The noise level was moderate as to be expected. Plenty soft enough for engaging conversation. Angel checked in on us to see if we had any questions and to take drink orders. We asked for an ice tea with lemon and the Vietnamese iced coffee. The coffee was indulgent and delicious. Whipped cream and cinnamon on top was so well done. When Angel came back to take our order for food I could tell she was busy. All the same she was entirely patient and kind. I noticed she handled the entire room with grace, kindness and efficiency. We ordered a New York steak rare and a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. With the lunch rush it took some time. The wait was well worth it. The presentation of my steak was superb. It was perfectly cooked and so tender. It was served over a bed of smashed potatoes with green beans and a few grilled onions. it was also paired with a tasty peppercorn sauce. It was a heavy lunch but I so wanted a steak. They offer some fun specialty menu items that keep things interesting, and there's always something new we want to try. The atmosphere is lively without being too loud, which works well whether it's just the two of us or a larger group. A few extra perks: they are pet-friendly in the appropriate areas, which is a huge plus for us, and they have solid happy hour deals that make it feel like you're getting real value for the quality of food and drinks. Our factories are the raw oysters, mussels and ribeye that's perfect rely cooked to medium rare. Also the salmon over coconut rice is always cooked to perfection. Parking however is a bit tricky at times. Mowing with is located next to other restaurants and stores many times it takes a bit to find parking. Overall, Station 16 Elk Grove has become one of our go-to spots in town, and we're genuinely glad they brought this concept closer to home. read more

I absolutely love Station 16. The vibe is super chill and welcoming every time we go. I've visited on different days and at different times, but Monday evenings are by far my favorite. We go as a family, bring a card game, and just enjoy the atmosphere. My kids love it, my husband and I love it, and the service is always above par. The food never disappoints. You have to try the truffle fries, blackened salmon, and the lobster mac and cheese. Everything we've had has been consistently amazing. And one of the best parts--Monday is happy hour all day. Don't miss their $5 white sangrias. They are so good you definitely won't stop at just one. This place has never let me down. Highly recommend. read more

Great Night Celebrating Terry's Birthday! SITREP Our lovely friend - Elite Yelper Extraordinaire Terry K. - blasted into Northern California from Hawaii like a Magical Tsunami of Champagne, and we got together to make a special bday-dinner of it. THE SETUP We ended up at Station 16 in Elk Grove because our original thought was to go to the Station 16 in Midtown Sacramento, but to our surprise that venue had been shut down! (A casualty of the local Sacramento-economy). The indoor / outdoor dining is a really nice feature at this location, though on this warm night I was really happy our party scored a lovely indoor dining table, snuggled into a lovely decor like we were on a Pacific Island bay alcove. DRINKS AND DINNER! We had a yummy time. Seafood and Steaks were definitely a strength on this menu. * Terry started us off with Giant Soft Pretzels and I got the deep-fried Calamari. * Terry also ordered a large full platter of oysters! I don't usually imbibe in this extravagance, but I really enjoyed the 2 oysters I let slide down my throat. ;) * Beers and Wines at this establishment are diverse, refreshing and tasty. They have all the brandings. * I pulled the trigger on their Shrimp Scampi Fettucini (with ginormous prawns!) and sufficient sprinkles of grated parmesan. It was Oh-So-GOOD. It was really sweet that they brought Terry a bday sundae for dessert, and 6 spoons, we all got to enjoy some cool refreshing ice cream. THE LOWDOWN This spot makes for a great meet-up spot in the south Sacramento area and the dishes are reasonably priced for such a fancy establishment. read more
