Perfect if you're looking to go with friends and not wanting to split the bill as you are able to order at the counter and pay before you seat yourself - Kind of like Portillos but way better quality food. We ordered a slab of ribs as well as pulled pork. What's unique about this place is that the pulled pork is not doused with barbecue sauce, but instead has a station where you can apply whatever sauce you'd like. There's a few variations with spicy to not spicy. Everything is à la cart. Their brussels sprouts were crispy browned and seasoned well. We also had their seasoned fries which was standard. The pulled pork was beautifully prepared, tender, Smoky taste, not minced up like tuna in a can. Quality meat. The full slab of ribs was scrumptiously tangy, perfectly seasoned with the right amount of sauce Clinging to the ribs. We drove down from Naperville to try this smokehouse based on a review. It did not disappoint! In fact, we've eaten lots of bbq including Kansas City !!q and all over Texas. This may have been the best! The ribs were succulent with a light glaze that did not overpower the meat. The brisket sandwich was perfect and we watched as it was sliced from the meat and plated perfectly in front of us. If you think you can only get good Mexican food at a Mexican restaurant think again. The Birria tacos trend started semi -recently. So, when I saw Station One had them every other Tuesday I marked my calendar! Today was that day. Not only are the tacos loaded with juicy beef brisket, but the rice and beans that come with the dinner plate are actually better than most I've had. Never got the chance to try the food. Waited in a line for over an hour that moved less than 10 feet. The bar was actively, efficiently serving people and there were tables open but the system for ordering and pushing out food was extremely inefficient. Some people, obviously used to this wait time, were holding places for others which meant you could be standing there for 45 minutes only to have 4-5 + people come in and "join" in with their family in front of you making the wait even longer. First time going here! Place is legit bbq with a Texas feel in downtown Plainfield! I like to think I've eaten some good bbq all over this great country and this is definitely worth the trip! I got the pastrami, pulled pork and ribs for the meat choices! Some sides of corn bread with more butter than God can handle, slaw, Mac and cheese and elote corn that was ridiculously delicious! So the pastrami was excellent, full flavored and juicy! Excellent! The pulled pork was tender and definitely had a nice smoke taste! The ribs were solid and tender! I was told the brisket was a must have and I choose ribs! Next time I'm going for brisket! The sides were all ready good but the elote corn was ridiculously amazing and would definitely get this no matter what! Packed with flavor that will take you to a world of enjoyment! The Mac and cheese was excellent and good blends of cheese! The slaw was good and it's a vinegar base which gives it a different taste with your meats! Very refreshing! I'm glad to say they've got the flow of things down better now (see sign in the lobby about ordering first THEN finding a table), and we got there early enough (just after 11 on Sat.) to avoid a line, though people were piling up shortly after we sat down! Everything we ate (pulled pork, pork belly, turkey, brisket, elote, mac and cheese, pickles and cornbread with honey butter) was tasty; my fave was the pork belly! This tray for 2 was a pretty pricey lunch, running us just under $45. I like the mild sauce with a dash of Texas in it but there are 4 to choose from on each table. I heard a lot about this place and my family wanted to check it out. No complains from me, I wouldn't have to cook dinner lol. It's not your typical restaurant, as they prepare all your food in front of you, which is serve directly on tray. We got lucky and beat the rush! So that was exciting. And let's just say the food is so appetizing and finger- licking good, I suffered from a food coma and blacked out the rest of the night. Hahah. I'm a regular here and Station One used to be my favorite BBQ spot in the whole Chicagoland area -- until they started treating me like they think I'm dumb. I love the food here. But when I order brisket from the "point" (which is the thicker, marbled, fatty end of the brisket), I am NOT asking you to take 2 chunks of flat brisket and stack them on top of each other. This has happened to me twice here now. I'm not blind and I'm not stupid. At first I thought it might have been a mix up. But now it's apparent that the counter either isn't listening or just doesn't know BBQ. It was still tasty. But it's not what I asked for. I had read that this place was really good about allergies and sure enough, they were! The staff were really nice and changed their gloves, got a new cutting board, and explained to me which items were gluten free. We ordered a lot but it was enough for two people to try out! The pinto beans were okay a little hard for my liking and I wish they were more like baked beans. On the other hand, the potato salad was super flavorful with an undertone of onion so it tasted a bit like French onion dip. All the meats were super tender and juicy, the ribs were falling off the bone and the brisket had a perfect fat to meat ratio while the pork belly was so soft from the fat breaking down. The wings are definitely a must try and their ranch is amazing. My favorite item was the brisket dipped in some Texas gold mustard sauce with a pickled onion on top while my partner's favorite item was the chicken wings with some potato salad on top. Found this by searching for rib restaurants close to Plainfield, IL. Glad we did! There is space to sit inside and outside; we however came to carry out. While standing in line the menu was well seen and easy to understand the Ale carte options. You get to place your meat(s), then next person takes your sides order. Each person was pleasant, greeted with a smile and a have a nice meal /day! That makes a customer feel great weather eating inside, outside or take out. As we were leaving we walked past a full bar. As far as atmosphere we plan on sitting in to absorb the adult beverage options. After un bagging the food at home the smells were fantastic! The meats We bought were ribs, link and Chopped Brisket. Sides mac&cheese and Collard greens and of course pickles. The ribs heavily seasoned, great smoke ring & tender. Link seasoning seen thru casing has good flavor and snap. Chopped Brisket ohhh so tender and delicious. Collards seasoned well a bit heavy on the chopped garlic (for those who like garlic bombs) but very tasty. Mac & Cheese was a miss - a bit watery rather than cheesy needed salt and pepper and some cheese (no stringy effect at all). The pickles are dill (not expected because usually Bread and Butter pickles served with ribs) but they were good. All in all a delightful meal. Hands down the BEST bbq you can get outside of Chicago! First of all- the atmosphere is always fun and lively (not in a crazy or loud way) and the inside is decorated with cute string lights. They have a nice patio area with picnic tables that opens right up to the inside of the restaurant. My husband and I ordered a bunch of things to share: brisket, smoked turkey, wings (in beef fat buffalo sauce), potato salad, broccoli salad & creamy coleslaw. UGH. Honestly everything was to die for!! The flavor of the sauce the wings were tossed in was incredible. I could've drank it lol. Other meats were also delicious and tender. Best broccoli salad I've ever had. Potato salad had huge chunks of potato and was perfectly creamy and the coleslaw was super fresh & crunchy. Even their pickles are great & taste homemade.
