This restaurant exceeded all of my expectations and is truly defined as fine dining! We had an amazing experience for a special birthday occasion, greeted by the friendly staff. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. We received a dozen of oysters to start as our appetizer that included a variety of different sauces. I ordered the BLT wedge salad which is bigger than other places we've eaten that are only a fraction of the size: The steak that I ordered was the bone in ribeye, but I would also highly recommend the dry aged ribeye which was juicy, delicious, and cooked to perfection. The side not pictured- the Mac and cheese! Super creamy and rich. As well, the whipped mash potatoes which I would both recommend as sides. A tip that I would suggest is to be careful on how you order your steak as I ordered it medium but would have liked it a little more on the medium rare side so I will remember that for next time! The attention to detail at this restaurant was memorable! How cute is their custom ice cube in my husbands old fashion. Probably the best restaurant Paloma I've had in a long while. Their champagne mignonette with the fresh oysters *chefs kiss* everything was so fresh and flown in daily. We went for my husband's birthday so of course we had to to get the wagyu tomahawk steak to celebrate. The way his eyes lit up when mentioned, lord. Oh my goodness- this place exceeded my expectations! And they were already high after reading up on the reviews. I went with my family for dinner last night. There was 10 of us and every single one of us had a 5-star experience. From the amazing server (Shevy) to the delicious food and ambiance, this place is a MUST go to. For food, I highly recommend the shrimp appetizer. It was definitely a fan favorite. I got the petite filet and it was cooked to perfection! You have to get the truffle butter topping as well! For sides our table got the creamed spinach, au gratin potatoes and the crème brûlée corn- holy moly all 3 were DELICIOUS! For dessert they brought out a little cake and candle for my uncles birthday which was a generous addition! They also brought out complimentary cookies at end of night. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of my experience at Steak48 is, 'Go here if you want to be treated like absolutely royalty'. My boyfriend and I had a phenomenal experience. From the moment we walked in to the gust of air from the door as you left, we were engulfed in a luxury dining experience. Our host graciously led us to our table where we were asked if we'd like to dine with white or black linens. From there, it was as if I had stepped into a feast fit for a King. We started with a salad, a choice of regular or Parmesan garlic bread (we choice Garlic Parm, of course), and a glass of wine and beer. For the main course, my honey ordered a filet Oscar for his meat and we shared a spread of potatoes au gratin, Brussel sprouts, and macaroni and cheese. I got a regular filet mignon, as well. This was my first time at Steak 48, but it will certainly not be my last! Christopher was an excellent server and so knowledgeable of the menu. Everything he recommended was delicious. The wine and cocktail menu are abundant. We had the pork belly appetizer and it's by far the best pork belly I have had. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the scallops amazing, and both side dishes delicious. The corn creme brûlée was game changing, be sure and order this. The dining room is elegant and inviting. The music selection was perfection, could not have asked for a better night. We celebrated a birthday and the birthday boy was treated to a card and the dessert of his choice. Third times a charm or whatever they say but when it comes to Steak 48 they don't need the luck. This was my third visit to Steak 48 and they continue to get better at each visit. I sampled a lot of the menu and they have some sure hits and a couple misses. Overall I'm so impressed by how knowledgeable each of the staff members are. Our servers have provided so much info about each dish and really wowed me. Some of my favorite items I've sampled include the Crispy Shrimp, the Fresh Burrata, the Rhode Island Calamari and Shrimp, Double Baked Truffle Potato, Corn Crème Brûlée, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, New Bedford Sea Scallops, Maryland Style Lump Crab Cakes and the Tomahawk Berkshire Pork Chops. I would recommend you try any of these menu items. Each is delectable and scrumptious. Now for misses the Chicken Fried Lobster Tails, the Colossal Shrimp cocktail and the Alaskan King Crab and Rock Shrimp Mac and Cheese aren't my favorite dishes. The lobster tails are a small portion to me and the breader was described to me by a friend that had them with me as Popeye's Chicken breader. The shrimp cocktail was rubbery and tough. The crab and shrimp Mac and cheese is very oily and you miss the seafood flavor. Now the pros definitely outweigh the cons. The ambiance is top notch. From the moment you arrive, the restaurant gives a warm and 'hip' vibe with dim/elegant lighting. Our reservation was ready right on time and the service team (water refills/bread service/drinks/apps/entrees/dessert) was spectacular. We never waited for a refill and the sequence/timing of the service was perfect. Our lead server, Erin, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. Make sure to try the shrimp topped deviled eggs and king crab/avocado stack appetizers before your steak comes out. If you can spring for the A5 wagyu butcher's cut, I highly recommend. On April 26, 2025, I attended a birthday celebration for a friend. My friend chose this place for its decadence and class; allegedly. This was her first impression of the restaurant and also Her birthday celebration. We had a small group of five, the reservation was later in the evening, so we figured that the usual rush of the restaurant should have slowed down. It had. This should have made our visit that much more pleasant and enjoyable. I have been here on a busy night and the service was impressive to say the least. If this were my first impression of Steak48; I would never recommend it to anyone else. The service was beyond subpar. Since we'd made reservations, we were seated fairly quickly and advised of who our server would be for the night. We waited for several minutes, before I reached out to a passing waitstaff to find out about our server. Unbeknownst to us, she was right beside us, sans an introduction; casually taking her time cleaning a table that was already being serviced by another person. We finally got water and bread from our co-server, no butter for the bread; which we witnessed be given to another table without request. We still sat several minutes after our co-waiter left, and our waitress had still not made herself known. I stopped a maitre'd and requested a manager (who Never showed up). Since it was not my event, I chose not to cause any discomfort for my friend, but this experience was horrid. The waitress finally showed up, however with no grace to her, I will keep her name anonymous; although she does not deserve the honor. The interaction was short, clipped and fake. There was no true concern for our experience. When we finally received our food, the seafood mad and cheese was full of grease and my loaded garlic potatoes were more of a miss than hit. For a nearly $200 meal for one person of five, this meal should have been all that I thought it would be; sadly it was not. Let's not forget the 20percent gratuity added to our bills, before we had even received an initial receipt. Oh, and after being blatantly ignored, I barely had an appetite and should have had plenty of food to package for home. Not so, a young man came out to package out food to go. At my last experience here, the food was packaged at our table. He took it to the back, and I cannot figure how two nearly full sides that can feed a few people, returned in to go boxes with barely enough to fill the bottom of the takeout container. Regardless of my dissatisfaction, I wanted every morsel of food that I paid for. I was told by someone in my company that one of the valet's made a snide comment about rolling my window down because of a smoke smell in my vehicle, but the strong smell of marijuana permeated the outside of this establishment like a thick wool coat. I came outside to my car sitting on the opposite side of the restaurant's entrance like it had never been parked, but valet most definitely collected their fair as well. I will also be leaving this review on google as well. I can't even say this was an off night for Steak48. I will say this experience has made me disgusted and I wish I would have spent my evening somewhere with actual nice people, and a truly welcoming ambiance instead of just half a--ed entrees and poorly trained staff. read more

Steak 48 is in my opinion the BEST restaurant in Charlotte. Hands down. The service is incredible. I really only ever sit at the bar, but every bartender is incredibly knowledgable and friendly. Funny too which is always a plus. The managers make it a point to speak with guests which I think helps avoid any issues a guest may have. I usually only drink wine at the bar, it's always Stemmari pinot noir from Sicily. Their pours are 10oz so be careful, it can creep up on you. The steaks are as good as you think. Perfectly seasoned and cooked, in my opinion, no need for any sauces. They're stellar on their own. The sides are amazing as well. I love their colossal shrimp cocktail. These are the biggest shrimp I have ever seen in my life. You have to use a fork and knife at times. They allow you to add the atomic horseradish to your cocktail sauce which is a great idea for those who prefer their spice level at a certain place. Their desserts are insane. The triple chocolate bombe is an amazing deal for the price. Chocolate mouse, white chocolate ganache, toasted marshmellows, gold leaf. Unreal. We finally made it to Steak 48 in South Park. Reservations are booked up for almost 2 months ahead for this place. We tried to make reservations for the 4 of us the first part of January and the restaurant's first availability for a normal dinnertime was the end of February. My buttercake with carmel and pecans dessert, the king crab avocado tower, and the creme brulee corn were my favorite things. The complimentary garlic bread was also yummy. My husband adored his NY Strip and said it was the best he's had in a long time. My ribeye was overcooked and fatty (I ordered medium and instead it was well done one inch all the way around with a dark char taste I didn't care for.) The inside was barely pink. Our friends said they enjoyed their scallops and filet with foie gras on top. I really liked the king crab avocado tower. It had a slight spiciness to it. The pork belly appetizer was also divine, very meaty and not too much fat. Service was excellent and our waitress was never far. The busboy was very polite cleaning up after each course. I also really liked how they had a man at the door to greet each person and open the door. All the servers and other staff, except one, were not wearing a mask and it was so refreshing to see. The decor was nice. I did not like the music. It was loud 80s music. We had the same thing happen at Oak Steakhouse a few weeks ago. It seems a nice quiet dinner where you can easily talk to each other is a thing of the past ??? Not liking this new trend at fine dining places. It lowers the class of the place IMO. The final straw for me not being anxious to come back here again anytime soon was the bathroom. They have a hallway full of restrooms, like 5 on each side and they are ALL for both men and women. There is absolutely no reason what so ever that half of these are not women's and half are not men's. (Or just have one mixed use in case the line gets too long). Thank goodness I did not see any pee on the floor. This is absolutely disgusting that this restaurant is forcing women to share the same bathroom the men use. What is this, a gas station instead of a fine dining restaurant ???? The bathroom was plain, grey and black. A horrible, dreary place to go after spending $250 on a meal for 2. You know who has a beautiful bathroom ? == Fig Tree and the food is divine, gorgeous atmosphere, no noisy music, and a bit cheaper ... I recommend going there instead. read more

Anniversary dinner was a huge success! We enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. Our waiter was the best. He attended to our every need & made certain that we were happy every step of the way. Each course was delicious. The pork belly was crispy on the outside & tender on the inside. My rack of lamb was perfectly cooked to temp & seasoned well. Came here to celebrate birthday with girl friends. Food was great. Highly recommend the beef tartare as appetizer. The beef was fresh and carefully seasoned. Poke can be salmon, tuna, or mixed, and the portion was good. We ordered two orders of ribeye, one as medium rare and one as medium well. Since they were to be shared, the entree was prepared into two portions and then served. For 22oz ribeye with 4oz bone, then 9oz for each person was quite descent size. Seafood was cooked nicely and tasty as well. We were offered a free dessert since celebrating birthday. The chocolate bomb was tasty - the mousse inside was smooth and creamy, not overly sweet. The server was patient about menu recommendation and pretty helpful. Two things to call out - 1) the valet used to be free but it is now $6. There is a free parking garage though. 2) our table for party of six was not of too much space (as a fine dining place). Also, the front entrance door was super heavy! Cannot say enough great things about our experience at Steak48 last night!!! The service was impeccable (our waiter, Jeremy, was the so attentive and courteous, and all of the additional wait staff we met were the same). The space is beautiful, but it doesn't feel "stuffy" - they had fun/recognizable music playing, and the different spaces break up the restaurant well. The wine selection is great, and the food... just phenomenal. We started with the fresh baked yeast rolls topped with garlic butter & Parmesan (wow) and the crispy shrimp & calamari with three house-made sauces (SUPER wow). We each got bone-in steaks (mine was a petite filet, my husband's was the KC strip - truly two of the best steaks we've ever tasted!) and we ordered the asparagus and sautéed mushroom sides (incredible flavor on both). They let us choose a dessert on the house from their amazing and extensive dessert menu, and we went with the warm vanilla caramel cake (seriously mind-blowing) - again, can't say enough great things about it all! Yes, it's pricy, but I'm telling you, it's worth it. We wanted to love a high end steak house close to home, but this missed the mark for us. Why? The overall experience we had was just meh, but that's not how you want to feel about a fine dining experience that costs $150+ per person. The first thing that we noticed was the music. It was unusually loud for a fine dining restaurant and it didn't fit the overall vibe. The music was disjointed crossing in and out of genres from Frank Sinatra to one hit wonders from the 80's. It was just odd for us to even notice it. Our baked potato wasn't fully cooked, asparagus was too al dente and our steak seemed like it was cooked in a cast iron skillet not a 1600 oven. It just felt like we could have made it better at home. When you go out and spend this kind of money you want to enjoy every bite. Maybe they have someone new in the kitchen where it wasn't inspected. I will say the drinks were generous so that was nice. read more

When it comes to steak houses, the restaurant needs to do something special and Steak 48 definitely checks that box. I came here to celebrate my brother's birthday and after hearing all the hype from friends we decided that this was our chance to go and check it out. Note to get a table, you're going to have to reserve pretty far out. My sister in law booked 2 weeks or more out? And also, there's a deposit so if you don't go they will take that deposit. Makes sense to me, if they're reserving the table. So what did Steak 48 have? Well, they have your normal steak options, but they also have other things such as some seafood along with some other meats such as pork chop or lamb chops. One item on the menu that caught my eye was the braised short rib. However, no one in the party got it, because... I shared a Tomahawk Australian Wagyu with my brother. And that sounded a lot more delicious than the braised short rib. The chance to try out an Australian Wagyu was a first for me, alone it prepared in a tomahawk. Usually, tomahawks are hard to cook, it's massive and so when it's cooked the outside is too well done, and the middle is a bit too well medium/almost leaning toward the well done side. Anyways, I might be getting to ahead of myself. We started off with some appetizers. We ordered the beef tartare, the lobster rolls (mini slider versions), Asian style pork belly. The beef tartare and the lobster rolls were great. The pork belly? Meh. I would say that was a very underwhelming dish. It was just pork belly doused in chili sauce, there was absolutely nothing special about it in my opinion and something you could definitely make at home. Onto the Wagyu. It was awesome and it was cooked correctly! Tomahawks are known to be hard to cook, and this one came perfect, the outside rim is medium rare, and the inside was right on the money. It wasn't completely medium rare, but I don't blame them. It's a quality piece of meat and it beats overcooking an expensive steak. Overall, definitely would recommend this place for a special treat/anniversary/event/etc. Unless you're financially well off, but even then I think there can only be so much The reviews did it justice and it does deserve all the rave. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of steak houses...but when I saw pictures of their mouth-watering appetizers, sides and desserts (like their BEIGNET TREE!), I had to check it out. The problem is...it's incredibly hard to book a table on a weekend, even if you do so 3 months in advance! Well, I ended up having to resort to a Wednesday night reservation...luckily, on the day of our 26th wedding anniversary! As expected, the place was nice...a contemporary yet classic...and we were quickly escorted to a nice table in one of the more exclusive rooms. Unfortunately, must mention some aggravations. I'm an old girl and it was so hard to see the menu in the dark lighting, but I finally managed after my pupils adjusted, I guess (Yes, I need to start bringing my Granny glasses out to dine!). Also, the overhead music was all wrong. They played everything from Justin Bieber and Madonna, to Rolling Stones. Nothing against these musicians (I loved Madonna in fact!), but OMG...I thought this was going to be an upscaled dining experience?? Guess I was expecting something more like Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Jazz or even Classical music genre in a restaurant as nice as this. I mean, the place even has a dress code. Truly, their overhead music sort of stunned me (not in a good way). I was also initially irked that our waiter approached our table with no mask on (it was pulled down below his mouth). As luck would have it, I noticed that all other waiters/waitresses were diligently wearing their masks (though some wore them under their noses). I hated being that person, but I actually asked him to put it on (to which he said he was vaccinated, and wore the mask under his nose). *SIGH* Other than this annoyance (lack of Covid courtesy?), he did his job seamlessly. Now the good part...the FOOD!! As expected, the menu was quite juicy. It was truly hard to decide, but we ended up ordering the Filet Mignon, Lump Crab Shrimp Mac, Crispy Shrimp Deviled Eggs, Corn Creme Brulee, Roasted Brussel Sprouts, and the Beignets! We also appreciated the unique complimentary Garlic Bread. Well, everything was DEE-LISH! Think my faves of the night were the Crispy Shrimp Deviled Eggs and the Corn Creme Brulee. Both were simply Heavenly! And of course, I loved the Beignets...which also came with 2 sauces. Turned out they treated us to free Beignets (anniversary gift?)...so Thank You!! Good thing...'cuz the menu pricing was quite hefty (as most steak houses are!). As small in portion as they were, I didn't mind paying $18 for the Crispy Shrimp Deviled Eggs or the Corn Creme Brulee. Luckily, they were actually THAT good! However, I just didn't get the $50 to $75 price points for a piece of steak on its own. Again, that may just be me...am just not a huge steak fan. I must also mention that I loved the red cocktails that I had...Can't remember the name, but it was SO good, and so STRONG!! 1 Cocktail was easily worth that of 2...and I was fully buzzed out by the end of it. SO...there were some highs and lows. Still, I loved the foods here...and I don't say that much about most American foods. The thing I really appreciated was how innovative they were in mixing things up...like adding the Shrimp to the Deviled Eggs and the super-ambitious mix of Crab and Shrimp with the Mashed Potatoes...even the addition of 2 sauces to the Beignets. And how can you not love the Beignet Tree...especially when it's free (again, anniversary gift?). Despite a few misses (in my book), I can't rate lower than 5 stars for the overall service (and their special occasion gifting!). Traveled all the way from Florida to come here. I've heard great things and honestly this is the best steak house I've had been to. The crispy lobster rolls were cooked to perfection. If you didn't want a app they give you this amazing garlic bread. The standout dish was undoubtedly the 45day aged ribeye steak with parm crusted. It was bursting with flavour and cooked perfectly. Had the absolute pleasure of fine dining with Steak 48 on a Friday (5|27|23) as a party of 4. Our reservations were at 7:30pm and the front of the house was very welcoming and had us in our seats very swiftly upon arrival. The first impression of the venue was very pleasing. Restaurant lighting is set in a dark warm lit environment and as you walk through the venue, your eyes are happily delighted by all of the shelved wines on display, different seating areas, and the bustle of their staff running around diligently. The General Manager, Greg Roach, was a true professional and sat us at, in my opinion, the best table in the restaurant. Our booth was very cozy and quiet and we had a bird's eye view of the kitchen so we could watch Executive Chef, Heather K. and her team in action (picture attached). Also, wanted to mention their music playlist was excellent with a mixture of different genres and kept me singing and moving in my seat as we waiting for our delicious drinks and food. Our server was Charla and she was 5-Stars, welcoming, and understood the menu very well and was very accommodating answering all of our questions (silly or not). Now onto the food! Let me first start by saying I'm a fine dining consumer and have eaten at some of the best steak houses in the world, but to put context in perspective for the Charlotte Metro area, I've eaten at The Capital Grille, BLT, Oak Steakhouse, Ruth's Chris, Fleming's, Sullivan's, and Eddie v's Prime Seafood to name a few, and have to say Steak 48 stacks among the best of them and didn't disappoint. There is a nice selection of Appetizers, Entrees, Sides, and in-house made Desserts to satisfy the meat, seafood, or dessert fanatic. It would be easy to rave five stars, and this is certainly in that zone of ambiance, service, menu, quality of dishes and well beyond the "usual" at high end restaurants. However, there are some aspects that took the luster away from five stars. We promised a couple who has done a lot of nice things for us and they suggested Steak 48. It took us on and off two months to secure a reservation what was not after 9pm. We finally got through a few weeks ago and the options were 5:30 or 9pm. So...5:30 was ours for four. Ah...but do you want a high top table of regular table? We asked for the regular and got it. One benefit of a super early dinner time is that parking is easy. We were seated along the glass divider looking into the seafood preparation crew. Constant movement and the fresh seafood looked wonderful. We immediately noticed that talking would be in competition to the loud enough to be heard over the diners' music. Couple that with the continual motion of wait staff, servers and bussers, it was very loud. Not a romantic place to propose marriage. The menu, everything is a la carte, is great. Appetizers, salads, seafood, STEAKS, other meats, sides, toppings...and flip it over to take in a dizzying selection of wines, mostly bottles, but adequate by the glass options. Our seater gave us a briefing and turned it over to our server (Nicholas) who went into quite a review of menu items, items not on the menu and his "favorites." It took us awhile to settle down and order drinks. Did get the best Maker's Mark Manhattans ($18) we guys have had in the Charlotte area. The ladies had glasses of wine ($14). There was a great press to get an order in, but the menu had so much to take in that it took us another awhile. OK, calamari & shrimp with cherry pepper rings ($23) was superb and a portion worthy of four eaters. Sauteed Shishito Peppers ($12) topped with pram cheese were excellent. My wife and I do these frequently at home and our neighbor, after much trepidation over fear of spice, went crazy for them and mostly ate the for-four eaters portion plate dry. Very nice dinner roles came in dusted with cheese and spices. Hot from the over and very tasty. Wife loves artichokes. So she ordered the chopped artichoke salad ($15). A portion worthy of two eaters arrived. She could not find any artichokes in it and asked me to taste the salad, as she thought it too vinargary. I did, it was very vinargary and I did not detect any artichokes. Wife pointed this out to the server, who lamely said that the artichokes were minced into the salad, and, to our astonished and skeptical expressions, said he would take it off of our bill. The mains were easy to choose, as we came for steak and the selections were in two categories: regular and large. And the smallest steak was the petite filet at 8 ounces ($59). The four of us are older, ranging from 76 to 81 years old, so a 22 ounce porterhouse or 18 ounce bone-in ribeye were way out of our appetites. We all had the petit filets, all done medium. I had asked our server if the kitchen generally over- or under-cooked the steaks? The answer was that they generally came in under cooked. I worry. If the meat comes in too-rare/too raw, and you sent it back for a little more heat, it will come back over cooked, thereby ruining a very expensive steak. This kitchen knows how to cook and they nailed it. We smiled. 8 ounces is a HUNK of meat! Especially for we seniors. We totally enjoyed our $236 worth of steaks. For sides we ordered Creamed Spinach ($15) which was to die for. I ordered the green peppercorn topping ($4) for my steak. It was a large enough portion that all of us put it on our steaks. The best ever and it was interesting to realize just how hot the steam serving plates were as the creamed spinach dolled on to the plate started to boil!! Don't touch the plates. Au Gratin Potatoes ($19) were also in the to-die-for category, cheesy, creamy and yummy. We also, by accident ended up with a serving of Whipped Potatoes ($12) that we did not order. The noisy music and ambiance caused the server to "hear" whipped potatoes. We had to pay for it and we were too full to eat much of it. And we never got into the desserts and those we saw passing us by looked really good. Maybe next time. In fact, I think when we come back we will share a steak, order some appetizers and dig into desserts. With another couple or two we could sample even more appetizers, sides and desserts. Understand that Steak 48 is an expense account kind of business person entertaining clients venue. The pre-tax bill was $418, tax $34.49 and I tipped Nicholas $100. Quite a mixed experience, as I alluded to in the start of this review. Excellent menu, super quality meats, great wine cellar, talented bartender and superb service. The appetizers, the salads, of course the steaks, the sides (we had the mashed potatoes and the creamed corn which is cooked crème brûlée style), and the dessert (please leave room for the ultimate warm vanilla cake). Graduation Night at Steak 48: A Toast to Honors, A Taste of Disappointment Last night, I stepped into Steak 48 with high hopes and a heart full of pride, ready to celebrate my college graduation--with full honors--in style. What was meant to be a night of indulgence and elegance turned into a rollercoaster of missed marks and unexpected saves. The Wait That Wore Us Down We arrived promptly for our 7:30 reservation, only to be met with a congested host area that felt more like a hallway traffic jam than a luxury welcome. Servers squeezed past us with trays of food, murmuring apologies as we stood awkwardly for over 20 minutes. The host suggested we wait at the bar but didn't confirm if there was space--so we walked there, only to turn right back around. Not the grand entrance I envisioned. A Cocktail Catastrophe Once seated, we were offered water, but the menu was never explained. I ordered two custom drinks with specific juices, cardinals, and my favorite cherries. Only one arrived--and it was a far cry from what I requested. We asked for half-and-half bread due to my dairy aversion, but the kitchen made an executive decision to serve only sea salt bread. It was painfully salty. ‍ Redemption in a Glass After sending the drinks back, the manager came over and--thankfully--redeemed the moment with a divine cognac blackberry cocktail not even listed on the menu. It was the kind of drink that makes you close your eyes and savor every sip. A glimmer of hope. Seafood Tower of Trouble We ordered the seafood tower, but the condiments arrived long before the actual tower. The shrimp were overcooked, and the drawn butter was lukewarm at best--solidifying halfway through the meal. Not the luxurious experience I remembered from 2020. Lamb Letdown & Sides Gone Sideways I ordered the whole rack of lamb, medium, with Brussels sprouts and praline sweet potatoes. The server didn't enter the sweet potatoes because they contained cheese--even though we clarified that only one of us was dairy-free. The lamb came out rare, and when returned, it was cut (despite my request to keep it whole to retain juices) and overcooked. The Brussels? Room temp and lifeless--microwave vibes. No crisp, no charm. The Server Swap That Saved the Night Midway through, our server was replaced with someone who truly understood hospitality. Attentive, kind, and full of personality--he and the manager turned the night around. They encouraged me to order something else, so I settled for salmon and spinach. Sadly, the spinach came with cheese, again ignoring my request. Sweet Ending, Bitter Taste I was gifted a dessert with a candle, which was a lovely gesture. But overall, the experience felt like a shadow of the Steak 48 I once knew. The finesse, the attention to detail, the seamless luxury--it's faded. Final Thoughts: Steak 48, you were once a pinnacle of celebration dining. But last night, you missed the mark on too many fronts. While the manager and final server brought warmth and recovery, the inconsistency in service, food quality, and attention to dietary needs left me disappointed. I had a reservation set for my wife and I at 9:30, I arrived late but Nikole was sure to take great care of us at the host stand. The restaurant was quiet and the ambience was nice, we wanted to sit In the kitchen booths and they made it happen! They made it very special for us by putting rose petals on the table. Our server was Yolanda, she was a gem! She made some of the best recommendations so I'll definitely be asking for her every time that I dine in with them. The host, the server and the server assistant checked on us through out the meal so it made our time there well worth it. Came on. Sunday to celebrate a friends birthday. Love the valet parking and the option for nearby parking deck parking. Location is great and even walkable from SP. Appetizer options were plentiful. Everything from chilled seafood towers to southern comfort items with a twist (a la fried shrimp deviled eggs). My fav so far has to be the pork belly and a runner up is the burrata. All are shareable but I suggest you order two pork bellies. The bread was not immediate. The waiter offered it and my friend that had been here before requested both the garlic parmesan and the plain. So I don't know if it's complimentary or you pay for it but it was delicious. It came served in a mini deep skillet and u tare it apart. I did ask for butter which I thought in a fine dining establishment would come with the bread. When the butter came out, it was ice cold...boo. The dinner menu looked so good it was hard making a choice. My friends husband ordered the filet wagyu and it literally melted in your mouth. She ordered the scallops which were cooked perfectly. Another couple with us had the Sole and crab cakes. The crab cakes were so huge she could only eat one. I had the NY Strip which was just okay. I'm used to a thinner computer of meat when I order a strip and this was thick. There was very little flavor and yes I ordered it medium. The sides were just so so. The Mac and cheese was a disappointment but the Brussels were great. A perfect mix of tender bulbs and crispy leaves accompanied by smoky bacon. Everyone enjoyed their cocktails and my friend really enjoyed this cucumber drink. Said it was light and refreshing. The blackberry martini was yummy. If you order one they give you enough for two. Wine list is excellent. My cab was recommended by the waiter and I was very pleased. Dessert was amazing. We brought a cake for the birthday girl but the restaurant does not allow outside food. So they brought the table a warm pound cake with caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream and a mountain of whip cream. It took me 3 years to get a reservation (i work out of town and have always wanted to try this place.) i was sat at the main back table in the back of the restaurant and watched the chefs cook everyone's food so the atmosphere wasn't great back there but the rest did the restaurant seemed to be having a good time. I ordered the 12oz bone-in filet and it was okay. It was chewy to be honest which surprised me as it's the "best restaurant in Charlotte". My twice baked potato was actually so much better than the steak. Actually all of my sides and appetizer was better than my Maine course. Bc of that i was disappointed. Would i go again? If i was guaranteed a seat with a view of other people? Yes i would. But i would order a different steak. My $78 steak was only worth $18 because of the chewiness and flavor (even with the truffle enhancement.) read more

FIVE. STAR. EVERY. THING! Finally, I was able to spoil myself and enjoy Steak 48 and it was worth every single cent. I'd like to start by saying the service here is impeccable! Think gourmet Chick-fil-a type service LOL. It was out of this world, literally every person working at the restaurant says hello or asks if you need help. That alone was such a pleasant experience. The place is gorgeous inside! Such a sleek, elegant and classy design. Looking at the building from the outside you wouldn't expect so much to be inside. There are different dining rooms all throughout the restaurant. We were there for 3 hours so I walked through the restaurant a few times to use the restroom and around every corner there is a beautifully decorated dining area. Like I said you are constantly greeted by someone who works there. This is a wonderful place to dine for any occasion! We had a lovely server named Winston. He was very attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. I low key fell in love with the crumb catcher tool they used to clean the table linen in between dishes LOL. I've been to a few restaurants since then and was sad they didn't clean my table crumbs like Steak 48, *shrugs*. (haha #spoiled) Our food was fantastic! We ordered: crispy shrimp, fried deviled eggs, and chicken fried lobster tails for our appetizers. We loved ALL of them! My favorite was the crispy shrimp. PRO TIP: order two...trust me. For dinner we ordered a petite filet mignon, Chef Heather King's au gratin potatoes, asparagus fries, roasted Brussel sprouts and creamy mac and cheese. All these items were so delicious! My favorite was the potatoes. My one and only "complaint" is that the menus are massive. Like abnormally large and they were in our way for at least 45 mins before we ordered food. We joked about what to do with them and where to put them. My friend slide his behind his back in his chair LOL. I love all the menu options for sure, but highly recommend a smaller menu in the future. :) All in all, Steak 48 is worth the hype, the wait and whatever else! We came here for our anniversary at the beginning of May. Yes, you really have to preplan as our dinner time was at 8:30, which is late for us, but that is all they had when I booked at the beginning of March. At any rate, we were seated right away. There were plenty of tables available when we were seated, but they were used as the night went on. We had looked at the menu before we arrived, so we knew what we wanted right away. We started off with the complimentary parmesan garlic rolls. These were awesome, especially warm! For our meal we split the ribeye, mac and cheese, cream brulee corn, creamed spinach, and mushrooms. All of it was great, with the exception of the mac and cheese. Mac and cheese is my favorite side dish, and this one was good, but not great - a high end restaurant should not be using Velveeta in their recipe, step it up a little bit! Our favorite side was the cream brulee corn, but that creamed spinach was right behind. For dessert we got the smores in a jar and warm vanilla caramel cake. Smores was good, but the warm vanilla caramel cake was amazing!! Overall, I would get everything we got again, besides the mac and cheese and smores. Service was impeccable from the hostesses to our waitstaff. Definitely adding this restaurant to the mix for special occasions with other upscale restaurants. read more

Great experience at Steak 48. Wonderful customer service from the time you arrive to the time you leave. You can tell you are in a luxury restaurant. We had a nice set up next to the kitchen and I could tell the restaurant was well managed. We had Cam and Jacob as our servers...awesome customer service. The courses were well paced and we had plenty of privacy in our booth. We went to celebrate my daughter and they brought her a gift, super sweet. So, this is not to tear them apart. This was by far the best steak I've ever had (45 day dry aged bone in ribeye. Can't beat it!). But here's the thing - there's a few things I didn't care for. (1) I made reservations for 1, and could only sit at the bar. I was seated next to where the servers pick up drinks and in the path of everything that left the kitchen. I had hands in my face getting straws, and had to duck more than twice to avoid being hit by serving trays. Will not sit there again! (2) I ordered a few raw oysters for myself. They arrived in a huge bowl of ice that took up my entire area at the bar, with 5 sauces (unnecessary, and two were better suited for fried oysters). I was alone! Scale your presentation accordingly - a long flat plate with rock salt to hold the oysters, in a row, with maybe two sauces at either end of the plate. It's just a personal order - not for the table! (3) It was LOUD and I was in the path of hectic traffic, so I was constantly tense, not relaxed. I was there to celebrate something for myself - it didn't feel like celebration, felt like dodging dodgeballs in the school gym! (4)The au gratin potatoes had no salt. You have to season each layer when you prepare these, and potatoes cannot survive without salt. (5) The servers were very friendly, truly enjoyed what they were doing, were nice to talk to, and the bartenders great, especially Karen.
