I came to steak 48 for my birthday this previous Saturday and it was such a lovely experience. Shannon was our server and she was so well versed on the menu and could give us the perfect descriptions and recommendations. I was also handed a card for my birthday which was very kind. The tables were set so nicely and they would come around and clean off excess crumbs if there were any. We felt the service was very attentive and we were never left needing anything. We started off with something to drink. I got an espresso martini which was not too sweet and perfect and my partner had a glass of makers mark. The bread we ordered the half and half and it was so soft. The seafood tower was also so fresh and delicious. It comes with 6 sauces but our favorite was the horseradish. The steak itself I got the petite filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. We felt the asparagus and potatoes were nothing special but they were also good. For my birthday they gave us a free dessert of my choice and I got the chocolate bomb. It was like a giant ferrero rocher and I liked the mousse inside. We will definitely be returning in the future for other celebrations.

I absolutely loved the Sea Bass!!!! It was the highlight of the evening. The steak was a bit over cooked and tough to say it was supposed to be medium well. The lobster rolls were ravishing. Full of butter, and not skimpy on the lobster whatsoever. I actually got full off the rolls prior to me even getting my entree. The pork belly had a sweet taste but overall cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was very sexy, and sensual. Perfect for a date night.

Very nice restaurant, walkable from multiple hotels in downtown Philadelphia. Entrance was not very well marked but we figured it out. Service was great, the server knew the menu well and was super nice. The restaurant called us the day after the reservation to make sure that the experience was good, which we've never had before and thought was nice. Food was very good, but I felt that the prices were a bit high for the taste. We did however enjoy the sizzle plates (the plates came out piping hot, I think they put them in the oven), they kept the food hot for the entire meal. Also the autogratuity was a bit pricey, the service was good and I absolutely intended on tipping, but I like to tip on my own accord. Not the biggest deal because I would have tipped similarly anyways but autogratuity is always something to be aware of.

Awesome ! Awesome ! Awesome !! Beautiful mixture and the King crab & shrimp Mac & cheese is truly delicious!!

"Look No Further !!" Steak 48 is the Super Bowl Champs when it comes to restaurants ! The service is truly second to none, and goes above and beyond on every level to show what true class looks like ( and that starts from the valet service, to the warm greetings, and ends with a team effort from the servers that left my family in awe ! ) The atmosphere is upscale, with dazzling decor. And once you actually get to your meal, you can only nod your head in total bliss, because the food is amazing... Fried Lobster ( scrumptious ), The King crab and Shrimp Mac & Cheese is a must have !! But don't stop there, because the menu comes with a plethora of delicious options. Steak 48 continue shining, because no question you're the brightest star in the Upscale Restaurant Galaxy.

My wife and I were blown away when we first came here and we have been back twice since. The restaurant is gorgeous, especially the private booths for 4. The service is as good as it gets. The staff is so inviting and accommodating. The apps we really liked were the calamari and hanging bacon. The wedge salad is delicious. The 45-day dry aged bone-in ribeye is one of the greatest steaks in the city. It's expensive but worth it.

Steak 48 is probably my favorite steakhouse in Philly! Been a couple times and the steak is always spot on. I go with medium rare since the plates come out super hot -- medium well will overcook fast. The pork chop is also great -- tender and perfectly seasoned. Loved the crispy calamari with peppers, and the sides are SO good, they go with everything. And don't skip dessert -- the ultimate warm vanilla caramel cake is a MUST. So, so good! Service is top-notch and the vibe is dark and classy. Perfect spot for special occasions -- it's pricey, but worth it!

I have been dying to go to this steak house FOR YEARS! Finally, I had the chance to check this place out for a drug dinner I went to. We started with this warm bread. For a table full of strangers, it felt weird to break off a piece of bread. I wish they would have made the breads less homestyle like. Next, there was fried shrimp and calamari with fried cherry peppers. This was really delicious. I liked the sauces it came with. Then, there was a salad. The salad was pretty good as well. The showstoppers were the entree and dessert. I usually hate steak but I felt like since I was at a steakhouse, I should try out their NY strip. WOW, the NY strip was delicious. They warned me when I ordered that the medium rare steak would come out in a plate that was too hot to touch. They were right! It came straight out of the heat it was cooked in. The steak didn't need anything extra. It was amazing (taste wise) the way it was. I liked how the medium rare steak wasn't bleeding as well. The sides included broccoli that tasted really mushy. I wasn't impressed by how the broccoli was steamed. I feel like steamed broccoli should have a bit of crunch. The mash potatoes were delicious, however. They were super whipped up. The show stopper of the whole fest was their dessert- Ultimate Vanilla Caramel Cake. You have to get their dessert. It was the best thing I have had in a very long time. It was this warm cake that had vanilla ice cream on top with pecans mixed in. I loved how cold and creamy the vanilla ice cream tasted. I also liked how the whip cream tasted fresh. The pecans were all mixed in the dish which was amazing. It was nice the pecans were coated with brown sugar and toasted. I think the dish also had peach in it but I can't be certain based on their ingredient list.

This Steak 48 location was very nice. The service here was top notch and the steaks were definitely delicious and well cooked and prepared. It was so much to choose from on the menu so I definitely took my time once I got to my table. The inside environment was very laid back and chill for a nice weekend evening.

Beautiful ambience. Pricing fairly high so check out the menu before going if you think you might be on budget. The food is delicious and high end. A diverse group of options. Service was ok. Friendly enough but surprisingly not as precise and not commensurate to the quality/scale of the restaurant.

Wowsza! They have moved up my list for steakhouses in the city. We arrived at 415p they opened at 4p. We were seated allllll the way in the back by the exit and bathroom the next table that came in was also POC... the third group was not so perhaps they seat from the back of the restaurant forward. Gorgeous restaurant with the loveliest staff. Funny, friendly and attentive. Singh was amazing. Helpful, suggestive and informative. Colossal shrimp are that. $12/shrimp pricey but you can tell why. They say the horseradish was hot-- eh, if you like wasabi you can handle this. The bread-- get it half and half butter mix. YUM. The steak... the steak!! Served on a sizzling plate and the sides are served to you on it. Everything is hot and sizzling and delicious. More sides than any other steakhouse in the city. They messed up and gave us extra potatoes. .chefs kiss. Delicious drinks with a good gay pour. And here comes dessert because it was date night and wifey and I prepare for full experience when we see the $$$$ Three layer key lime pie yum!! Still not as good as mine but better than most. So! I'd return, we will return. And those who enjoy seafood will not be disappointed. The display alone makes you salivate on that looooong walk to the last table. And a great music selection!!! 80-00 grunge pop and solid. Loud in the back room so be ready to sing. Yes yes and yes again!

An amazing place to go to for steak - they have a solid menu and great service! Ask for Steven Montoya - he was awesome. He was welcoming, had great energy, and I loved that he always told us his picks from the get go bc I will always ask what the waiters recommend! Calamari & shrimps - 4/5. Can't go wrong with this one. It has a little kick to it but not overly spicy The bread - 5/5!! Complimentary with the service but it was baked fresh, so warm buttery and garlicky. I loved it Filet mignon - 5/5. Barely had to cut through it because it was so smooth and tender. Get the truffle butter with it!!! You won't regret it Shells and cheese - 4/5 Brussels sprouts with bacon - 4/5 Warm vanilla cake with ice cream - 5/5. Not a drop was left. Must order! Key like pie - 3/5. A little too tart for my liking My must haves at this place: filet mignon with truffle butter and the vanilla cake. Chefs kiss!

From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. Every server and staff member was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The ambiance felt intimate and upscale, the lighting set the perfect mood and the overall vibe was immaculate. As for the food? Incredible. From the appetizers to the main course, every dish was executed flawlessly. Steak 48 truly doesn't miss.

Great phone voice, by the way. We walked to the restaurant during the purported "heat dome" weekend. Fortunately, the air conditioning is pristine. We sat at the oyster bar and recommend you do so too. Our waiter was great. We should have caught his name but didn't. Either way, he was a real one. P spotted some absolute babe across the bar and asked our waiter what she was drinking. Important side note: attractive people dine here, but not in an intimidating way if you're a normie. Turns out it was a mocktail from the Zero Proof menu. We don't judge. Our waiter then turned us on to an OG move: order a mocktail and add booze. P got the Pink Drink and added vodka. J ordered a Bee's Knees and a Firing Squad. All above average. Anyway, we created an oyster flight and got two of each, working our way across the Eastern Seaboard. The house sauce was fantastic and incorporated some sort of onion and horseradish combination. We don't pretend to understand what that sorcery was, but keep doing it. Create your own GD oyster flight. You won't regret it. We also ordered some shrimp cocktail and shared the lobster roll sandwich. We forgot to take pics, but the generic photo attached is actually how it looks. Not a bad bite. This was the perfect amount of food for two hungover people who took IR Adderall before the walk. We lingered for a while and they don't push you out. Ended up ordering a couple IPAs. They started shucking oysters to prepare for the dinner crowd, which is neat to watch when you're on the spectrum like us. Also, the walls are covered in different oyster plates. We spent about 20 minutes discussing which one was our favorite. We landed on a green one. It's a real vibe lifter of a joint. Brought us back to life. 10/10.

Unfortunately, the service is what really brought the rating down. For a restaurant where you're spending around $50 per person, I expected much better service. My glass stayed empty for long periods of time, and it took forever just to get our waitress to come back to the table. I was dressed in sports gear since I'm visiting from out of town, and I couldn't help but feel like maybe we were judged based on how we were dressed instead of being given the same level of service as everyone else. I can't say for sure that was the case, but that's how the experience made me feel. The oysters were great, but when you're paying these prices, the service should match the quality of the food. Unfortunately, it didn't during my visit.

We celebrated my birthday there and I was a bit shocked when they didn't offer to comp a dessert, since most steakhouses usually do, but I didn't mind as it's not expected. Our second visit didn't live up to our first time experience. The steak we ordered was so raw that it was inedible. Luckily, we got 2 big entrees so we were able to enjoy one and take the steak to go and cook it a bit more to enjoy for dinner the day after. This third visit REALLY threw us off. First, we waited over 30 minutes to be seated. When we were finally seated, we were seated in what is likely the most uncomfortable seat in the restaurant. You would think if you just made someone wait 30 minutes past their reservation, you'd maybe give them the bigger table that's available to get them back in your good graces. I will say most of the food was very good. We ordered the crab and artichoke appetizer which was good but not great, and for dinner we ordered the duck which was cooked perfectly and the ribeye which was also cooked well. I had mentioned it was my birthday at the beginning of the meal. Since I didn't receive anything with my last birthday experience, I had no expectations of a comped dessert. That was until the young lady at the table next to us received a comped baked Alaska for her birthday. When it was my turn for the waiter to offer a dessert we were asked if we wanted to order anything. We said no and asked for the check. When they brought us the check, they finally remembered we had been delayed half an hour and that's when they offered a comped dessert. Why is it that someone else got a free dessert for their birthday and not me? If you're going to offer that to one you should offer to all. Other than that, the service overall was very lacking. We were checked in on 3 times during the night whereas the table next to us received constant check ins. Not sure what that was about since we had the same waiter. We were also seated and ordered before the table next to us and they received everything before us. Appetizer, dinner, dessert and check. Not sure why this happened but after tonight's disappointing experience and overall food inconsistency I have decided not to dine here anymore. More for tonight's service than anything else. Disappointing and overhyped.

Without any prompting, he said, "All those times I came and checked on y'all, that would have been the time to tell me about the steak." I was genuinely shocked by this comment. At no point had I been rude, disrespectful, or confrontational. I calmly explained that he had not returned to our table after the food was delivered, but he continued to insist that he had. Because of the way I was being spoken to, I asked to speak with a manager. While waiting, I tried to resolve the issue directly with Cody and explain why his comment was inappropriate. During that conversation, he apologized but also stated that another table he was serving had gotten on his nerves and that he essentially took that frustration out on me. He further explained that he thought I "looked frustrated" about my steak and therefore went into the interaction already on guard. The problem is that I had never blamed him for the steak, never raised my voice, and never treated him disrespectfully. He made assumptions about my attitude and responded to me based on those assumptions rather than the actual interaction we were having. I explained that in customer service, especially at an establishment with Loch Bar's reputation, employees represent the restaurant and shouldn't take frustrations from one table out on another. Unfortunately, the conversation became even more frustrating when he told me that he had already left us a dessert menu and that the situation was "over." Once again, I felt dismissed and spoken to disrespectfully. I asked for the manager a second time. When she came over, she listened to my concerns, handled the situation professionally, and was very courteous throughout the interaction. I'm sharing this review because I've always enjoyed dining here and have had many wonderful experiences with other servers. However, this encounter made me feel uncomfortable in a place where I've always felt welcome. One employee's behavior does not reflect the excellent service I've typically received at Loch Bar, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt it needed to be brought to management's attention. I genuinely hope this feedback helps ensure that future guests don't have a similar experience.

Loch Bar -- Late-Night Eats Review We chose Loch Bar tonight…read morefor some late-night eats, and it was the perfect choice! The location was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Since we arrived late, seating was limited to the bar, but we still had access to the full menu. My guy ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad, and I went with the Shrimp Scampi appetizer and a side of Roasted Asparagus. The Shrimp Scampi arrived first, and the presentation was gorgeous. The shrimp were served over a slice of sourdough bread that was soaking up all that delicious scampi sauce. It was so good that I kept the plate and used the remaining sauce with my asparagus! His Caesar Salad arrived looking delicious. The chicken on top looked perfectly cooked, and the salad was creamy and coated perfectly with Caesar dressing. The roasted asparagus was simply presented with panko roasted on top, and it was cooked perfectly tender. And yes, it was absolutely delicious dipped into that leftover scampi sauce! The bar staff were also very nice, welcoming, and pleasant to talk with. Great food, great atmosphere, and a perfect late-night stop. Definitely a place I'd visit again!

We skipped the prix fixe menu and shared the octopus to start, which was tender, meaty, and flavorful. For entrées, I had the salmon and my dad ordered the Chilean sea bass plaki. Both were delicious and filling, but the sea bass was the standout thanks to its rich red sauce. The salmon was perfectly cooked and light, though I wished it had a bit more sauce or seasoning. Overall, a great pre-show dinner spot that I'd definitely recommend.

We had an excellent birthday meal at this restaurant on Wednesday night for the six of us…read more My favorites were the - crab cakes - Chilean seabass - zuchini chips - Greek salad with fresh potato's - lamb chops - branzino - duo tartare Portion are fairly big so we over ordered a bit as the server kept recommending two orders of everything. That was a bit stressful for me as the host of this surprise party. I hate wasting food and we wasted food. He also pushed two desserts on me on top of the free dessert he offered for free. Thankfully I cancelled them in time. The free dessert was just okay. Nice touch for photos but we barely touched it. Overall would be back. Just know that the service is a bit pushy on ordering more than you need

The xtra dirty martini with Calabrian blue cheese stuffed olives - was prob the best dirty martini I've ever had. The food unfortunately sucked. Definitely not worth the price we paid. And it's a pricey place, but we don't mind paying for quality food and service. It was our 30th anniversary. Waiter was really nice to take off our unfinished sides, truffle fries and miso tossed broccoli. Broccoli was sweet. Fries were soggy and I couldn't taste the truffle. Steak was overcooked. Sauce au poivre was oddly sweet. Scallops were also in a sweet sauce and they potato puree for a lot of dishes, it got really boring to keep eating. Lobster bisque was meh. Chilean sea bass also meh. Tuna app was decent as was the crème brûlée. Would come here for drinks/happy hour if there is one. But not for a full meal.
