Sauced louie and east coast fries
Caprice F.

Excellent food and great customer service. Prices are a little high but worth it. The east coast fries and sauce louie are delicious! That cheese sauce is amazing!

New food truck on the scene - Stely Belly opened about a month ago and has joined the parade of…read morewhirring generator-powered food trucks that hang around City Garden at lunch time. I can see Stely Belly becoming a favorite. Their offerings are very healthy - creative takes on a salad wrap - but they also had a pretzel bun burger on the menu that looked delicious. I had the Sun-Belly, which was corn, edamame, peas, grilled zucchini (so good), and lettuce with melted ricotta and provolone, and was super filling but still light. The bonus: my food was ready in less than 3 minutes, which in my experience is unusual for the STL food truck scene.

I've tried Stely Belly a few times, and each time, I have found the experience disappointing. I…read morerecently paid them a visit with a friend during the lunch hour, and we both were frustrated with the quality of the food and service. I ordered their mushroom and spinach wrap with chicken, and my friend ordered the salad. We also ordered a few sodas. After taking my order and running my card, they did not offer me the option of a receipt, which I actually needed. It would have been so simple to have it emailed from their point-of-service system, but instead they had to craft a handwritten ticket which was non-itemized and therefore completely useless. But, I didn't have time to argue. The salad is advertised as coming with gorgonzola. My friend noted that her salad had a distinct lack of cheese of any kind when she opened the box. When she asked, she was initially told that the salad didn't come with gorgonzola. When my friend politely corrected them, she was asked to dig through the salad to look on the bottom, where a flash of white cheese was found. It was only after we had wandered back to our home base that she realized that this was the ONLY crumble of cheese in the entire salad! My wrap came out second, and the chicken was missing. Their solution, instead of rewrapping chicken in there was to give me a bowl of chicken pieces that had been sitting in a water bath, and were soggy. The wrap was nothing special, and it was simply dripping with juices that made the entire thing a mess to eat. It was edible, and it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't particularly engaging. The final annoyance was that the sodas were completely warm. I got no warning that they weren't chilled before they ran my card, and there was oddly no acknowledgement from the person behind the window that they were warm other than her lingering for a second to notice it, and then shrugging to herself before handing them to me. Warm soda on a hot day is absolutely worthless, and had I known they didn't have cold drinks, I would have held off and bought drinks from a vending machine. All in all, the whole thing just comes off as amateurish compared to the quality of food and service you can get with other trucks on the scene. I can't say you shouldn't give them a try, but try to manage your expectations going into it.

Went on 1.24.14. I think the wind chill was single digits but it was worth it! I'm not a big fan…read moreof grilled cheese sandwiches so I was pleasantly surprised at ALL the options they had. Reuben, turkey Reuben, chicken parm, buffalo chicken, etc. I had a hard time selecting but went with the turkey Reuben. They put it in a brown paper bag so that was nice to transport back to work. When I first looked at it, it seemed underwhelming. Not too many ingredients. Not too big. But wow when I took the first bite! Still warm even after a drive. The bread was so crispy and not greasy at all! They mix of the turkey, sauerkraut, 1000 island dressing was delicious. I wanted to go return and get another sandwich! Friends got the soup and I'm bummed I forgot to add that. I'm looking forward to when they return. Don't pass up on this treat!

I asked for something to wow me and they did. The lady beside the counter listed off the best…read moresellers and her favorites. What was nice is you could get the sandwiches as a sandwich OR as a quesadilla. I had the Club with a side of homemade chips. The club had cheddar, havarti, smoked turkey, apple-wood smoked bacon, tomato, and Fresh baby spinach on sourdough. It, along with the chips smelled wonderful on my walk back to my building. The sandwich was a good size. Slightly on the greasy side but after letting it sit on a napkin for a bit it was OK. I could have made two meals out of the sandwich! The flavors of all the different cheeses and meats was a wonderful combination. The chips likewise were a tad greasy. They were OK - not the best homemade I have had but not the worst. I would also say slightly overpriced for what you got. I look forward to their next visit in the area so I can try something new.

10 out of 10! Not one complaint. We went to Hamilton's this evening for the first time. Three of…read moreus got the bone in thick pork chop. A couple had steaks. We had the cream spinach, Brussels sprouts and salads. Everyone raved. The pork chop had the perfect amount of fat and it was just amazing. I picked up my bone and chewed on it. The brussels sprouts were remarkable as well. The wedge salad was great. The drinks were great. The service was great. I look forward to going back! I have to be honest I know it's a steakhouse, but I highly highly highly recommend the bone in pork chop.

Good experience but a little underwhelming given hype and price point…read more My husband and I had been excited to try Hamilton's given our love of steakhouses and interest in trying some special bourbons. Service: We were sat in the Bourbon room, I'm not sure I'd choose this again. There are 6 tables in there and the waiter has to go very far to get to the kitchen. We never saw him not moving but it seemed that all 6 of the tables were in a similar place of ordering good and drinks with two large groups. This meant we often had to wait awhile to place orders, get food and drinks and bread, had to ask a couple time for somethings. Perhaps better experience in main dining room where the waiters may be less hard worked or better if they staggered out the reservations in this room more. Our waiter was nevertheless very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Drinks: We were very excited about the bourbon list, particularly the reserve bourbons. First, husband got the Garrison Brothers Single Barrel and me an Old Forrester 1920 in a mint julep. One disappointing thing for that was that the reserve bourbon pour was served in a huge glass with full to top with several restaurant standard ice cubes -- this meant the first sip was fantastic of this great bourbon but very soon the bourbon was very watery. We were shocked for a place like this to serve a high quality bourbon this way, often we enjoy this with one large square ice cube. Our next pour we got neat, which is what you need to do here. My mint julep on the other hand was great! Next we tried Blanters neat and Duckhorn from the Coravin system. Food: For the food we ordered the scallops to start, Hamilton farm greens, wedge salad and porterhouse to share with twice backed potato and seasonal vegetable. Potato bread was also provided with a garlic butter, it was delicious. Finished with a cheesecake. Everything was pretty good, nothing blew me away. Bread may have been my favorite given its uniqueness as a potato bread. The porterhouse was cooked fairly differently throughout the meat ranging from medium rare to well done, may be a challenge inherent to porterhouses. Twice baked potato was good and reminiscent of home cooking. Cheesecake was a nice finish with Dubai chocolate inspired toppings.
