Are we kidding. Why the hell is there hair in the bag with my food on my buffalo sauce????? I'm beyond disgusted. A hairball are we kidding.

Steak and shake I can say It's not the most perfect hamburger joint but it is one of my favorite. My 1st and 2nd experiences were not the best ,I had hair in either in my fries or in my salad but I continue to go because my hamburger is always delicious. This steak and shake is no different than all the ones I've been to. The service can be slow, their floors are usually sticky and the bathrooms are not perfectly clean.

I don't think we've ever ordered a dine-in meal where something wasn't incorrect or forgotten. The managers don't care. Servers are overworked and almost certainly underpaid. Food is as you would expect from a SnS, it's neither better nor worse at this location than any other. Small bonus point for their dine-in side salads being way above average in terms of the amount of fresh chopped veggies they cram into that little bowl!

Crap on table that they never clean. But did provide bill. No food

Arrive late night to this dirty, smelly place. Over half the tables are dirty, dishes piled up. Not that busy. Yet 10 minutes after I ordered I am sitting at bar waiting for my drink. I could say something but why should I have to ask twice for what should have been handed to me when I ordered. Counter top sticky with spilled drinks. About to walk out but too hungry to leave. She did drop off my bill though, priorities I guess. What a dump! 5 minutes later, used the restroom and left. Likely will be another 20 minutes before they realize I am gone. Without any food. Taco Bell, hear i come. Avoid this place like a bad crack habit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So on my first mainland trip in a couple years, I have been trying different burger shops. Jack Brown's had really high reviews, had a super fun vibe, and a really creative menu, which I love. Service was on point. Let's get the elephant out of the room right now - the size. lol I was prepared for a small burger from all the reviews, but, Shake Shack has a small burger, Jack-in-the-Box has a small burger. It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight and the dog. But I ain't gonna lie, that is one tiny burger! It's like...five bites? One for each corner, and then the middle. lol They might be better off coring the middle, and marketing them as hamburger donuts. The easy fix is just order an extra patty for a few bucks more. Same as Shake Shack. The other thing I have a problem with is the, "we don't do lettuce or tomato..." line. Sorry, that's like a pizza with no toppings. Really, it just sounds like they found a way to reduce overhead by not having to prep and pay for vegetables. But whatever... if great burgers can be made without lettuce and tomato, and without a big patty...let's get it on. I'm sorry, but that patty was charbroiled to the point of no juice. This is where a tomato might help with moisture. lol I don't see how this is actually Wagyu. A Wagyu burger should be melting in my mouth. I don't know what happened, but it reminded me of my first job at Burger King, running whoppers through the flame broil conveyor belt. If you got one that just came out, you scored big time. But if you got one that just sat in the warmer for 10 minutes, you got a dry burger. It was a very disappointing burger. Then again, I just had a Shake Shack burger yesterday, and it was nomnom greasy goodness. Of course I was going to be disappointed. It's like Ozzy Osbourne following up Slipknot as the opening act. The fries were great. They came in a huge basket, and the price was very reasonable.

We tried a few beers from Five Wits and per her recommendation got the creamsicle shake as well. Solid beverage choices. The shake tasted part float part milkshake and it was absolutely delicious. Would order again. The food on the other hand was a bit eh. We ordered the Asian q burger and the mushroom melt burger and it took quite a while for them to come out and when they did they had unfortunately been left on the grill for way too long and were charred and crunchy. One set of our fries was cold and the bun to burger ratio was extremely off. Luckily, the staff agreed that our burgers were accidentally overcooked and they remade them no questions asked. The remade burgers were moist and better but still not fantastic. They were just burgers with minimal toppings on them. Not really seasoned and the flavor came from the toppings themselves. The buns were still too big for the burgers so there was a lot of extra bread and they have potential to be great but they were just average. Would have probably been a three star review but the staff and drink selection really earned the extra star. Would go back to drink and maybe snack but probably not order a burger.

I am pretty easy going as a guest…read morein any establishment, but having been in the food industry for the entirety of my career, I am sure to be extra forgiving. That being said, I ran into a couple things here that I just found unacceptable. It was a hot day today, almost 100 degrees not considering the heat index. My fiancé, 6 month old son and myself were very excited to come inside and cool off with a cold drink and some air conditioning. We were sat in a lounge with no fans or AC whatsoever and my son and I started sweating within minutes. Not the end of the world but it did put a damper on the overall atmosphere and experience. It took a while for us to be greeted by our server who was kind. We placed our drink orders and got that back pretty quickly, then we placed our appetizer order. It took almost 15 minutes after placing our appetizer order before we saw our server again. Mind you, it was busy and noticeably understaffed. We got the cheese curds and over half of them were completely empty ! The selling point on the menu is that you receive a "half pound of cheese curds". This was not the case. My son was eating and entertained so we weren't too chuffed about it. We placed our food order and it was about 45 minutes until our food came out. I noticed after placing our food order with our server, she made rounds around the restaurant before putting our food in. As a server myself, that's just not the order of operations. Putting in a ticket takes less than 2 minutes. Put the food in and then make your rounds to check on everyone. Not quite unacceptable, but we were hungry, have a young baby and we wanted out of the heat badly. When my food came out I was worried about how everything looked. I ordered a blackened catfish plate and my fiancé had a blackened shrimp po boy. My catfish was not blackened but it had a noticeable layer of seasoning on it. I would say 1-3 cm of just seasoning on top of my fish with no char/blackening. It literally sloughed off of the fish. I pecked at the sides which I was not impressed with. Fries were unique but not crisp enough, and the slaw tasted like it was made with apple juice. Once I took a bite of my catfish I couldn't help but make a face. My fiancé was genuinely shocked because I am NOT picky. I'll eat just about anything. I scraped some of the slimy layer of seasoning off and gave it another bite and was equally put off. Last bite I took was with the "house remoulade" and I audibly gagged. Never in my adult life have I done that ! Super embarrassed and I knew I couldn't force myself through the plate. I had to wait another 30 minutes before our server checked in and I had to tell her I was grossed out and could not eat my food. She apologized and gladly comped the item off our ticket, which I appreciated. She asked if they could make something else for me, and I politely declined saying the baby is tired and we're all hot and ready to go. She brought the ticket to me and I immediately gave her my card. I watched her go outside, to the bar, and around the dining room with my check/card. She returned other tables checks before mine while she had collected them after mine. It made no sense to me, and I was getting fed up at this point as I was sweating bullets and the baby was melting down. While the po boy looked nice and was loaded up with shrimp, we were a little disappointed that it didn't come with a side considering the $17 price tag. He tried a piece of shrimp by itself and almost spit it out. He gave the whole sandwich a try and said it worked better with everything all together. This is obviously a place locals enjoy and I can tell many people have enjoyed their experiences here ! I wanted to share mine so people could be prepared for the possibility of understaffing and to avoid the blackened fish/seafood.

It just looks more like a bar rather than a place that would serve high quality fresh meals. Everything was clean and the service was great. Everything about this experience was top-notch! From being seated quickly upon entering, to explaining how the ticket validation thing worked (more info at the end), customer service was some of the best I've been shown. The ambiance is chic but casual-great for both cozy date night or fun family night. Our server was so friendly and patient as we asked questions about the menu. I ordered the grilled salmon with spicy crab remoulade and my guy ordered the smoked wings with a side of fries. I was happy that I was able to select my own sides from the ones on the menu so I opted for the fried Brussels sprouts with maple and bacon and the buttermilk whipped potatoes. After a short wait, our food was brought out. This was truly one of the best salmon dishes I have ever eaten! The salmon was cooked to my liking, the potatoes were soft and fluffy and the fried Brussels sprouts were absolutely divine and perfect. The remoulade was a little salty but it may have been just been my taste. The potatoes helped with that so it was not a deal breaker. My guy was pleased with his food as well and I could tell he enjoyed everything he ate. We agreed that we would take this trip back just to eat this meal again. It was truly a wonderful experience, from beginning to end. I highly recommend trying this gem out! Pro Tip: The restaurant validates parking. If you park in the lot across the street, do not prepay on the app or online. Ask the servers at the front to validate to save the $18 parking fee before you order and within 15 minutes after entering. Unfortunately, we didn't do this and the restaurant cannot reimburse the money after you've already paid. You've been warned!

Wound up at the aquarium for a couple hours and ended up hungry at the very end of it. Not far from where we were parked we found the Wooden City conveniently across from it all (dare I say a brisk walk's worth) with Mellow Mushroom and Ben & Jerry's establishments at both corners. We were given the options of staying inside or being placed outside and we chose (biased a lil) the opportunity of eating outside. We were taken care of accordingly by Jonathan, who is a perfect example of someone that makes tourism worth it, we chitchatted back-and-forth and came across some great options on our appetizers and drinks. While we waited for drinks, we were served water with ice as the weather outside was pleasant but a little too hot for the afternoon... When the appetizers arrived, we were greeted by not only demonstration, but taste above what I've had as of recent. Wife enjoyed the freshness of the tomatoes and cheese whilst I was mesmerized by how subtle and uber smooth my Old Fashioned was. We unwinded and talked about our day here in this city and then our next meal plates arrived. I had the very unique and well presented Beet Ravioli and the wife had the exquisite Spicy Lamb Rigatoni. Immediate upon arrival to our table my wife and I exchanged a bite of each other's plates to give a chance for our taste pallets to experience one another. The Beet Ravioli took back my wife to a time where she made something of similar taste and the Rigatoni took me back to California when I tasted something familiar then. Towards the end, I saved the location at the name of the restaurant, as I would like a near future to come back and visit with more time. Jonathan was an absolute help for our satisfaction in Chattanooga and we are thankful.
