Went recently for the first time. Got tired of McDonalds and Taco Bell. So decided to try stake and shake out. The service here was incredible!! The girl taking our order was so friendly. Such a great change from other establishments in the area. We went through drive thru so didn't really see the inside. But the bad was filled with route 99 napkins and custom Heinz ketchup. That added something to the ambiance in our car lol! The single garlic burger was good. Need more ketchup and was very greasy. But the garlic was there. My husband got the double patty burger. It hit the stop. Nothing amazing. Maybe we need to try other things but it was good. The star was the Nutella milkshake!!! Omg just writing about this is making me wanna go get one. Steak 'n Shake in the Kendall(ish) area. As a business, Steak 'n Shake has definitely changed over the years, with only kiosks to order from and minimal human interaction. I'm not sure if this is the new model for all their locations but I'm not a fan. Although it makes it super easy and fast to order, the wait takes a bit no matter if they're busy or slow. The staff here seems to care very little, making the already small interaction with customers even shorter if you have a question or concern. When you order from the kiosk, you can either order to-go or for dine in, and seat yourself. Although we ordered for dine-in, our meal was placed in to-go containers but on a tray while the rest of our party had the regular dine-in settings. I only complain about this because it did feel like we got a little less food (aka fries and shake) than our friends. Also, did you know you can't even get the classic Steak 'n Shake seasoning for dine in?! You have to order a whole bottle, which was close to $4, and I feel a bit ridiculous if you're dining in and just want to sprinkle this over your fries. When done with your meal, you have to throw away your trash and leave the trays and cups in the designated area. We tried to do that at the end of our meal but both areas were stacked high with old, dirty dishes so our friend had to tidy up the area for them. read more

Wow. Time has not been kind to this Steak and Shake! There was a time where my family and I might pop in for a quick lunch, and some amazing milkshakes. The place was always full, always buzzing, and servers were more often than not funny and warm. Now. Only kiosk order at entry. QR code to fill your drink (apparently one refill only). Wait for your name to be called to go to counter and get your food (no real service to speak of at all). No one came by table at all. Fries are still crispy. Burger is still ok. Skipped the shake (the changes were shaking enough). Probably won't be back; drive through at checkers or BK can give me the same "service." Might be back if I need a quiet, and empty, place to have a soda. wow. Two stars for cleanliness and speed; although how hard is to do either in an empty establishment? What happened to Steak n Shake? I used to love this place. The food is still pretty good (hence the 2 stars), but do yourself a favor and take the drive thru. To eat inside, you have to: 1. Take your own order on the computer register... 2. Wipe down your own seats and table before your family can sit (ick)... 3. Listen for your name and carry all your family's food & drinks to your own table with tiny trays from a counter that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in days... 4. Ask for your shakes that didn't come out with the food & wait for them while your food gets cold... 5. And then clean up your table. And they have the audacity to ask for a tip when you order?? Ordered a fresco melt combo with a shake. Every part of my experience was good. The fries were fresh and very satisfied wirh the fresco melt (first time trying and it was good). Especially Cassey who took my order through the drive through and payment at the window. Went to the drive-thru today and had a great experience. Ordered two burgers, fries, and a banana shake. They made the fries fresh for me and they tasted really crispy. I love the Frisco sauce to dip them in. The banana shake was nice and thick with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Providing a long spoon and straw is a nice touch. The burgers had really fresh toppings, like lettuce, tomato, and onion. The beef was perfectly cooked. Excellent flavor. read more

It's Steak 'n Shake. Every 1 star review proves that they came to a FAST food restaurant expecting Michelin star service and food but with a check engine light on in their car. I was greeted when I walked in and the restaurant was clean. No funky smells, no trash/food on the floor, and the restaurant was at half capacity. Yes, it's a kiosk so there is very limited human interaction but for having used the kiosk for the first time it was quick. Placed my custom order in under two minutes. Pickles? Yes or no. Mustard? Yes or no. It's not asking you to solve for X. Again, it's fast food. Not a steak flown in by private plane from the most exclusive farms in Argentina where the cow's lineage can be traced to prior to the Industrial Revolution. The burger was good. Taste was good. Not too greasy. Not charred. The veggies were fresh and crisp. Not a great burger but a very good one. 8/10. The fries were ok. Nothing special but they do over-serve you fries so I can't complain. And the shake was top notch. Can't go wrong with a classic vanilla shake but again, if you see a 1 star review for this place whoever wrote it must've thought they walked into Cold Stone Creamery. Ultimately, the place is clean; the food is good for its price; the music is at an acceptable volume where you can easily talk to the person at the next table; the fountain drinks have free refills; place smelled clean; and even the restrooms were clean. We came here because I used to eat this in Jacksonville and the patty melts were scrumptious. Not the case here. The patty melt had a bitter tinge aftertaste, as well as the shoestring fries. Not enjoyable. I tasted my wife's burger and it was better than the patty melt but my experience had already been tainted. The place isn't too clean although there wasn't anyone eating inside while we were there so it wasn't too noticeable. I also ordered a Reese's shake and that was the best thing I had. We arrived at the drive thru at 11:30 pm think they closed at 12 we'd be okay. There were a few cars ahead of us and we waited in the line for a few minutes. After 5-10 minutes a woman called "diamond" comes out saying that they are closed and under staffed. We waited in line hoping they would be able to squeeze us in, but then another lady came out and told us we had to leave because they are closed and if they take my order, they'd have to take the following cars order and they just wanted to close. When I did a lap around the restaurant about to leave this woman diamond comes back out with a male employee pointing at me. I mentioned that they told me they are understaffed but they've had 3 Employees come out to tell me they can't take another order even though it says they are open till 12. I was told to put a muzzle on my pregnant girl friend by their staff, and he verbally assaulted and disrespected me and my pregnant girlfriend multiple times.. I've been coming here for over 10 years, but after tonight I will not return and hope they resolve this issue with their staff quick. Since moving out-of-state, it's hard to come by a Steak & Shake as they are far and few where I live now. But when we come back to the Hammocks neighborhood in the good ol' 305 it's nice to know this place is still here, offering decent fast food at all hours of the day. We've dined inside before. It's go that 50's diner feel to it. Service is mediocre because I recall many times where our server seem to have forgotten us. Food usually comes out in a decent amount of time and thankfully I don't remember a time where an order of ours was wrong. Also, it's nice that dine in services are available 24hrs, which gives you the flexibility to order on the go or take your leisure and have your food inside. I usually love going through the drive-through out of convenience but I have found that certain hours of the day can be avoided due to teenagers getting off school at a particular time or high traffic times during lunch/dinner. I have also found that although ordering through the drive-through is convenient, it can take a little while to go through because you typically wait a little longer for food to be prepared and ready to be delivered. Overall, my husband and I kinda like that Streak & Shake provides us another option aside from the typical McDonald's, Burger King or Wendy's. I think the best thing for us is that it's also open during the middle of the night for the random late night cravings. read more

I really have no words. The other day I came around 10pm and went in the drive thru. We had ordered 3 #7's and chicken fingers. They asked which sauces we'd like and we said barbecue and honey mustard. When we got to the window they assured us everything was in the bag. ..........everything was not in the bag. We were missing our chicken fingers and honey mustard. I know it's not a big fuss but one bbq for 3 meals? That's not even the part I'm upset about. We had parked and got down to try and get someone's attention so we can get our order sorted. The resturant walk in was closed, okay that's fine. But there was a worker inside just looking at us and not even helping or asking if we had any questions. The worker continued to ignore us. After standing outside for 10 minutes. So instead we walked to the drive thru. In the end they gave us the missing chicken fingers and the ONE honey mustard lol. But it's very unprofessional to not attend customers, if you see them by the door. Especially, if they had just seen me in the drive thru. We could have drove in the drive thru but that line always takes long, that's why we tried by walking to the front/drive thru. Usually, this resturant is great but these last couple of times, they've been messing up on our orders and I'm not a happy customer. This place just gets worse and worse. Even with the new management and upgrades they still can't get it right. The drive through takes forever. Multiple times I've waited for more than 45mins in a line for a simple burger and fries. It would be faster if I drove to the location in DAVIE and back. The staff is extremely unprofessional!! ill be honest, i used to love Steak N Shake. but this place has deteriorated over the years. The restaurant was a disgusting pig sty. We had a family of 7 sitting next to us (5 kids). They left soom after we ordered byt the mess they left behind stayed there during our entire meal. Now, i dont know about you but i dont want to eat surrounded by other peoples left overs and spilled sauces/condiments.
