It was not my idea to come here, we came for the new beef tallow fries. They were decent, the burger was pretty good for fast food. However the place was a dump. It needs some TLC. When we walked in, the place smelled a little off. They def need a remodel ASAP.

The burgers are tasty. The fries kind of taste like they come from a package pre made. They are thin with no taste. The shakes are excellent with lots of awesome choices. The floor is very slippery, I slide around with sneakers on every visit for some reason.

Steak 'n Shake in the Kendall(ish) area. As a business, Steak 'n Shake has definitely changed over the years, with only kiosks to order from and minimal human interaction. I'm not sure if this is the new model for all their locations but I'm not a fan. Although it makes it super easy and fast to order, the wait takes a bit no matter if they're busy or slow. The staff here seems to care very little, making the already small interaction with customers even shorter if you have a question or concern. When you order from the kiosk, you can either order to-go or for dine in, and seat yourself. Although we ordered for dine-in, our meal was placed in to-go containers but on a tray while the rest of our party had the regular dine-in settings. I only complain about this because it did feel like we got a little less food (aka fries and shake) than our friends. Also, did you know you can't even get the classic Steak 'n Shake seasoning for dine in?! You have to order a whole bottle, which was close to $4, and I feel a bit ridiculous if you're dining in and just want to sprinkle this over your fries. When done with your meal, you have to throw away your trash and leave the trays and cups in the designated area. We tried to do that at the end of our meal but both areas were stacked high with old, dirty dishes so our friend had to tidy up the area for them.

This was 1:30 pm. Empty. Literally. Empty.

Wow. Time has not been kind to this Steak and Shake! There was a time where my family and I might pop in for a quick lunch, and some amazing milkshakes. The place was always full, always buzzing, and servers were more often than not funny and warm. Now. Only kiosk order at entry. QR code to fill your drink (apparently one refill only). Wait for your name to be called to go to counter and get your food (no real service to speak of at all). No one came by table at all. Fries are still crispy. Burger is still ok. Skipped the shake (the changes were shaking enough). Probably won't be back; drive through at checkers or BK can give me the same "service." Might be back if I need a quiet, and empty, place to have a soda. wow. Two stars for cleanliness and speed; although how hard is to do either in an empty establishment? Not all change is for the best.

Went to the drive-thru today and had a great experience. Ordered two burgers, fries, and a banana shake. They made the fries fresh for me and they tasted really crispy. I love the Frisco sauce to dip them in. The banana shake was nice and thick with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Providing a long spoon and straw is a nice touch. The burgers had really fresh toppings, like lettuce, tomato, and onion. The beef was perfectly cooked. Excellent flavor.

It's Steak 'n Shake. Every 1 star review proves that they came to a FAST food restaurant expecting Michelin star service and food but with a check engine light on in their car. I was greeted when I walked in and the restaurant was clean. No funky smells, no trash/food on the floor, and the restaurant was at half capacity. Yes, it's a kiosk so there is very limited human interaction but for having used the kiosk for the first time it was quick. Placed my custom order in under two minutes. Pickles? Yes or no. Mustard? Yes or no. It's not asking you to solve for X. Again, it's fast food. Not a steak flown in by private plane from the most exclusive farms in Argentina where the cow's lineage can be traced to prior to the Industrial Revolution. The burger was good. Taste was good. Not too greasy. Not charred. The veggies were fresh and crisp. Not a great burger but a very good one. 8/10. The fries were ok. Nothing special but they do over-serve you fries so I can't complain. And the shake was top notch. Can't go wrong with a classic vanilla shake but again, if you see a 1 star review for this place whoever wrote it must've thought they walked into Cold Stone Creamery. Ultimately, the place is clean; the food is good for its price; the music is at an acceptable volume where you can easily talk to the person at the next table; the fountain drinks have free refills; place smelled clean; and even the restrooms were clean. Zero complaints.

Until today I never entered this establishment. Always dealt with the ridiculousness of the drive thru for shakes. Pull forward. Back up. Wait back there. WEIRDNESS!! Today after ordering there was one car in front of us stopped before the drive thru window. 5 minutes... 10 minutes.... The truck behind me in line backed out. I backed out and went inside. Manager made excuses. But to her credit she called DAVID the owner. After telling him about the issue and expressing my concerns, he told me to put the manager back on the phone. No apology. No explanation. That business and the owner are a joke. read more

What's the story here, they removed the chicken from their menu now 2 weeks in a row. Staff vlaims removed chicken for good, not going to be offered anymore. Well, is this a local decision because the website still offers chicken! Disappointing. read more

You really can't expect much from this place. If there was a time way to give half stars It would be a solid 2.5. Some pluses are as follows - open 24 hours so on a drunken night it's not a bad option. The shoestrings fries are pretty tasty - add cheese on top to make them better. The last plus is the milk shakes - those are great especially with all the options you have to chose from. Besides that the serve sucks and most of the food isn't anything special. Maybe try the melt? If I had to chose a regular food item on the menu. read more

I use to eat at Steak n Shake all the time I'm GA, so now living here in FL I assumed it would be the same. About 3 months ago, I ordered a double and they gave me a single (did not find this out until I arrived home). Here it is, another time I order a double and of course I received a single...again. I am very upset and want a full refund. Letting it happen the first time was my fault, but I am saying something this time. Not happy. read more

Went by June 26 2022 at 11:15 pm by drive through and they said it's closed through speaker. I thought it was open til midnight but the kids there must have more power than the owner or he isn't aware so I'm making him aware in my message. read more

I like steak and shake during their happy hours because shakes are 1/2 off. But their drive through can be a little annoying. Ordering is fast but getting you're food not so much. Even if it's 2 shakes or a bunch of food it all seems to take a while. Once you pay they rarely give you the food there even if there's no one else in the drive through. They tell you to park and tell you that they'll bring the food out to you. So if you're passing my late you probably have time to take a quick nap lol. Their shakes are good but sometimes I'm just like do I really want to wait that much for them..... the place is a convenience for late night hunger because they have a drive through. Keep in my that they have a under 4$ menu but the sandwiches and amount of food served is a lot less than the regular meal that's why it is 4$ and under. For example the chicken tenders on that menu only brings 3 small strips. But if you only want something to much or snack on then that's a different story. Make sure to have extra napkins since the cups that the shakes come in are usually dirty on the outside with the shake. Their shoe string French fries are yummy. Remember that sometimes they don't give a receipt so you have to ask for it as well as sauces and the night staff during this visit was nice. I gave 3 stars for the visit because they're not AMAZING but they're not the WORST EITHER. This is a place you can also bring kids too because they do have a lids menu or go to in a group. read more

The burgers are pretty good here and their fries! It what tops it all are there freshly made milkshakes and my favorite is the M&M's it's absolutely scrumptious. Cheap meal overall, my boyfriend and I both had two double steak burgers with fries and a kids shake for $14!! Great for the late night munchies or just a quick bite to eat. Horrible customer service! I called them & they hung up on me. I went inside & called them & they hung up on me! Another day I went through the drive thru & they told me the food wasn't ready so to go wait in the drive thru line again! Was not impressed with how they handled online orders. The mobile app said it was for pickup but never said it would be through drive thru. I ordered online so I would not have to wait as I have been there before where they make me back up my car so that I would not trigger the sensor for the time they take for each order at the drive thru window. For an order that have been ready in 15 minutes I had to wait over 20 minutes for my order. Do not recommend. Got to say that probably Steak 'n Shake corporation has gone to trash. read more

I've been coming to this place for years! I love their food! Especially their shakes! This is the only place where I will finish a shake! Fast service! Came for lunch... When we sat down, ordered, and got our meal took no longer than 10 minutes. If you're looking for a good meal and on within your budget, this is the place for you! They're open 24/7 too. My only issue is they can do better to clean up a little bit more. read more

I honestly don't find anything wrong with this place. I always see the employees working SO hard and they work as a team. I really appreciate it. My server Flori P. was quick to attend me and very friendly. Good food, very cheap I think people need to be more considerate. It is a 24/7 restaurant, do not expect flawless service at late hours and of course the restaurant is going to smell like fried foods (they serve fried foods). read more

Not somewhere I go out of my way to visit but enjoyable if I'm in the area and in the mood for a nice shake. Food isn't bad, fries a bit greasy but the burgers are ok. They have a $4 menu which makes it affordable for a last minute bite. Their breakfast menu is decent and affordable. Eggs and sausage actually taste better than in other establishments. Service is good if you eat there but it can sometimes be on the slow side. read more

Yummy in my tummy! Had a late night craving and I gave in. I'm kind of glad I did. I ordered the Oreo mint and it was delish! I went through the drive-thru and was attending by a very nice guy, who had a great attitude and friendly demeanor, which is something to admire especially when working so late at night. Those of us in the car joked around with him as we placed our order. and although we had to wait in front of the restaurant while our order was completed, we had a good experience in the middle of it. We were treated very well. This is a great place to come for a midnight snack or just about any time of day, really. The prices are pretty cheap, the food is good, just about any other burger place, to be quite frank, but the shakes, the shakes are what make it so good. Definitely worth the detour. read more

Had a strawberry shake... it tasted like those artificial mixed shakesss yuk. Had not come to this place in a while. Wow . Man what a change to my prior visits. For starters they force you to order through a computer. I absolutely hate doing this. I come to this place to get away from computers and to relax. To add insult to injury the computer asks if I want to leave a tip. I should be the one getting the tip since I had to work. They should give me a discount for working to place the order. Next they had no shakes. How can this be? Do we have a milk shortage? Is the machine broken? A place like this should have at least two machines in case one breaks down. Finally the quality of the soda machine was horrible. The mix ratio is totally off. All the drink flavors are watered down in order to save money. This place has undergone a drastic change for the worst. It's sad that a business tries to do this and doesn't realize the expected outcome. I am her at lunch time and the place is practically empty. The soda machine from the drive thru was better. Please take away the stupid order machines. This is a place where families come to relax and have their order taken. Not for a family to oder from a machine. read more

Husband and I went for a late night meal. We don't have any Steak 'N Shakes close to home so we stopped in. Service was a little slow tonight considering there was only one other table occupied and they were finishing up. More people came in later but significantly after we had ordered our food. Shakes here are really good even though we didn't order one this time around. But my absolute favorite dish here is their Chili Deluxe! It's delicious! However, I was disappointed once I received mine. They took the dish's name literally, and my chili arrived chilly. It was still delicious, just cold but I ate it anyway (I never send food back unless I plan not to eat there at all - guess you can call me paranoid). My husband had a grilled chicken sandwich and the fries were also cold. All in all, a decent place to eat. Great prices, decent staff, open late and decent food. Nothing spectacular but nothing horrible either. Pretty mediocre overall. Better than eating "fast food" at least. read more

Bad service, food took forever, server talking to us without a smile like shes not even happy to be here, 5 dirty tables around us and no1 even cleaned them, bathroom is a mess paper towels everywhere, asked another server that we are ready to order and he said im not your server, server threw the spoons for our milk shakes on our table and the table was dirty, spoons were already dirty when we got them, i asked for clean spoons she got said she will get togo spoons and we said ok she got them and threw them again on the dirty table, and obviously the place is low on staff, food was bad it was obviously made fast and placed in the plate was horrible, decoration was amazing, but very bad staff. I hope the managment is reading this and they should spend money on more training and adding more staff and fix the operation on the floor! read more

I live very close to here. You can't beat the prices but the service is what's lacking. Every time the waitress disappears after she takes your order, and you only see her when she brings your food. It also smelled like old grease when I was here this time. read more

I absolutely love the Frisco Melt with EXTRA Frisco Sauce. That has been my go to meal here for years upon years! I also love their prices. They are very inexpensive and coupons are always readily available. However, their service is horrendous and their wait time feels like it takes a lifetime. I'm already used to it though and when I get that random Steak 'n Shake craving I just force myself to put up with it. The restaurant is always packed and the servers are always running around like energizer bunnies. I wish they had a more systematic way of serving their customers but it is what it is! read more

The only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is solely because their milk shakes alone (and the price) truly deserve it! Take away the incredible milkshakes and this place can't even get ONE star from me. The place was packed and very understaffed. The poor waitstaff could not clear tables fast enough and keep up with the demands of the job. To that I say to management: FOR REAL? HIRE MORE PEOPLE TO WORK! Our orders were wrong. I ate it anyway...and got the burger I ordered complimentary as an apology. It was actually decent but i was full. The burgers were VERY greasy. and the fries were the WORST I've ever eaten. I had like 3 and left them all.... They tasted like old oil. The kids orders were mediocre. Our waiter was friendly, charistmatic and talkative. I just got off work at 4am and decided to grab a quick bite to eat. When 3 employees are outside passing a j between them, that should have been a sign. After being seated, 10 minutes later the server says she will be right with me. I told her take her time. Apparently she thought I was being literal and decided to chill with her friends that just came in right before me in the corner. I left 15 minutes later. Advice to the owner: Maybe hire employees that care instead of getting high right in front of the door. If you want to smoke, do it at home and not waste my time. read more

On our first visit, we ordered the breakfast sandwich, the Banana Walnut Pancake, and two iced lattes (one with 2% milk and one with oat milk). Everything was outstanding. The breakfast sandwich was packed with flavor, the latte was perfectly balanced, and the Banana Walnut Pancake was on another level. The combination of caramelized banana, toasted walnuts, and their smoked maple syrup was absolutely RIDICULOUS. We loved it so much that we came back just two days later. This time, we shared the breakfast sandwich because we needed to save room for more pancakes. We ordered the Lemon Curd & Blueberry Pancake and the Brunch Still Hungover Pancake (their espresso-inspired pancake), and somehow they were even better than we expected. The Lemon Curd & Blueberry was bright, fresh, and perfectly balanced, while the Brunch Still Hungover was one of the most unique pancakes I've ever had rich coffee flavor without being overly sweet. That's the magic there for me, you might look at these pancakes and assume it's "too much" or might be overwhelming but the flavors are so perfectly balanced, it's a darn masterpiece. What really made the experience special, though, was the owner. He took the time to chat with us, explain the inspiration behind some of the menu items. You can tell this isn't just a restaurant to him, it's something he's genuinely passionate about. That passion comes through in every plate that leaves the kitchen. The staff was warm, welcoming, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. In a city where brunch spots come and go, Jealous Fork feels like the kind of place that earns regulars. Their menu is packed with bold, flavorful dishes, an impressive cocktail selection, and honestly, they were one of the places that got me through COVID! From the pizzas to the entrées, everything is outstanding. I celebrated my birthday here just last week, and as always, it was excellent. The churrasco is consistently tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The mushroom risotto is rich, creamy, and bursting with earthy mushroom goodness. For dessert, we shared the warm banana bread with salted caramel ice cream, and wow... I still can't stop thinking about it. Whether it's happy hour, lunch, dinner, or a special occasion, Finka never ever ever disappoints. After all these years, it's still one of my favorite spots in Miami, and I recommend it to everyone looking for a memorable lunch, dinner or happy hour, do it right and come to Finka.

I found the menu a bit overwhelming, but I will go back to try some of the other things as I looked around the table and people are eating a variety of different foods and by foods I mean food types as the offerings are so diverse. Prices are a bit on the high side, but my first impression is that the value is there to command those prices because the food is superb. Potentially a five star restaurant...stay tuned.

I grew up in Kendall, and my go to place when it came to a great Burger was Steak and Shake. They always had great customer service, and great food. 50/60s decor, and melt in your mouth burgers. However, I returned to Kendall a couple months ago and made a late night trip to Steak and Shake and did not find it to be what it was. Let's start with seating. It took literally 10 minutes for the waiter to seat us. Mind you, it's 3 am, and there's barely any customers there to begin with. I take my seat with my friend and we ask for a glass of water. The waiter takes another 7 minutes to bring us water and when he does it's a super tiny glass that I chug in 30 seconds, instead of the regular glass. At around 3:45 the waiter finally takes our order. After 45 minutes of waiting I tell the waiter my order: The Royale Burger, Well Done, hold the fries. He goes to place the order in and I look around the restaurant and see a guy at the table across from us. The poor guy had been waiting so long that he had fallen asleep. Around 4:45 I finally had, had enough and got up and went to the front and told them that if I didn't have my food in the next five minutes that I would walk out. That it's ridiculous having to wait more then 2 hours for a burger at 3am when there's a total of 10 customers in the store. 6 of which had already gotten their food. The waitress that was there said she understood and told the waiter and the cook, who ignored her and continuing to talk and mess around instead of cooking the burger. The table across, with the sleeping man, finally got his order and the waiter actually had to wake him up. The guy had such anger on his face that it scared the waiter. But honestly, if you're taking that long to make food, you had it coming, maybe a little scare would help you improve. I finally got up and told the front I was leaving, and he said just give us five minutes, and told the cook to start the order. I was inflamed at the point. More then 2 hours and they still hadnt started to cook my order. My hunger got the best of me and I stayed the extra five minutes, just to be disappointed some more by the fact that the burger was just horrible. Wilted lettuce, tiny tomatoe, undercooked egg, and medium not welldone burger. Sorry, but I will not be returning here. What was once a childhood favorite is now an adult horror. read more

I used to love the food at Steak n Shake for many years. On my last two recent visits I was extremely dissatisfied with the food and I don't believe I will go there to eat any more. One visit, the hamburgers were very greasy and the hamburger patties have shrunken to paper thin. Even when I ordered the triple burger it barely seemed like a double. When taking a bite the grease was incredible and nasty. They offered only one little piece of lettuce and no pickle. They have a bad habit of applying too much mustard, which actually was the last straw for me. So on my last visit I ordered one of my favs, the Frisco patty melt. The bread was barely toasted, again the patties were paper thin, and totally greasy. There was no crisp to the sandwich, only a soggy mess. The fries weren't bad but the amount reduced. Also take note that the "bowl" of chili is just about the size of the cup of chili. The bowl has a huge rim which makes it "look like" you're getting a lot, but you are not. At this time I will only visit Steak n Shake to get a nice milk shake which so far they haven't ruined. This location has big problems with the late night shift. The service is slow, and hard to get the server to come back to check if you need something else. And good luck on getting the orders right. Overall, this store needs more attention to maintenance. the store in st pete that just re-opened after a few years being closed is hit or miss on getting a good burger, i eat there 2 times a week and it's like every few times i order my burger is dry and burnt. you know when they call your name within 1 minute after placing your order the burger has been sitting on the grill dried out and they try to warm it up and service it to you, todays was horrible, burnt and cold, thank god the fries were hot, you know when they call your name 3-4 minutes after arriving you're getting a fresh cooked JUICY burger. it's a shame because when they do things right food is great, i had to air out this time because it was a waste of $8.00 read more

Just a warning to everyone the hygiene in this restaurant is beyond disgusting. For example they scoop the milkshake out with their BARE HANDS into to your cup!! If the ice cream happens to drop on the floor guess what its still going into your drink. And don't even get me started with the infestation of roaches in the back. And how unprofessional the General manger , Odilis , is a married man sleeping around with his employees. And his favorite hot mess employee Flori. She is so rude and lazy. She is seriously the worst server I have ever experienced. This location is truly a disappointment. I would not recommend anyone wasting their money there. read more

The service is super slow especially at night but you do have to remember it must be really hard to find people who are willing to work at a 24 hour restaurant. They should really consider hiring bussers it is very hard for one person to be doing the job of 4 people. I was a server in highschool so I have sympathy for the kids that work there. And nonetheless they are all very nice. But they need more employees!! read more

Honesty I love this place, great service always friendly at most when you go at night, if your beening served by marie wow she's super friendly and always getting what you need , the prices are good compared to the prices you'd spend on other fast food joints for much bad food, I love this place and highly advise you to go read more

Where do I begin???!! This place is pathetic. The service is awful. After waiting like 20 mins for one of those kids to sit me down, i waited almost an hour for my food. The food isnt all that anyways. The only good thing was the oreo shake. Never again read more

By far, the best steak n shake in the state. Staff/management was amazing. Claw machine took my dollar but manager was really quick to return it to me without an issue. Server Cookie was absolutely amazing! read more
