The Steak Shack is absolutely delicious. We stayed in Hawaii for a week for a family trip and our place was right above it. We ended up eating here at least three or four times. The portions are generous and one meal can easily feed two people. The food came out pretty quickly each time which was great. It's super convenient, easy, and a spot we would definitely return to. We waited 40 minutes and... FANTASTIC. The steak didn't shine on it's own, but with that glaze... LAWD. Super delicious and with the rice along with the salad, this whole portion was so filling. No surprise the prices had gone up since even the most recent videos I viewed right before our trip. The 12 oz steak plate is now $23 but still worth it since the portion size is definitely shareable for two people. We ordered it cooked to a medium and it was cooked perfectly and was surprisingly tender. The steak is very peppery giving it a little kick and the teriyaki type sauce it comes with definitely balances out the flavors for a good flavorful lunch,dinner or mid day meal after the beach. I always come across this place on Yelp when I'm looking for something to eat, and it always looked so appetizing, but never wanted to deal with Waikiki and no parking. But finally decided to give it a try today. Terrible decision. No parking anywhere near, but it's Waikiki so it's expected. Located ALL THE WAY behind the outrigger. They had a HUGE line, even 30 minutes before closing. But I called in my order 30 minutes earlier. When I paid, they had the little handheld machine for card payments, and I felt rushed so I clicked the 15% tip option instead of "other", since I didn't feel like a pick up order needed a tip. I ordered the 14oz steak plate, cooked medium. Tell me why the steak was fully cooked and GREY?! It looked like it was pre-sliced, boiled, then seasoned. That's how it tasted too. It also looked less than 14oz, but it probably shrunk so much because of how cooked it was. Why even ask how we want the steak cooked? Rice was slightly dry, and their "island" dressing wasn't good. It was actually pretty gross. Maybe all the good reviews are just from beach goers that were so tired and hungry that they found it delicious?
