Small and cozy spot and on Sunday's they open it up for a fantastic fancy tea. We had a great time with our friends. On a rainy day, my family took me here for nice snack and some warm tea. I was glad that we got a table because I was told that they are usually fully booked. To start we each got a different tea: Dragon Well, White Peach, and Coconut Cacao. All three came in an individual pot with a cute cover (to prevent burning yourself). I really enjoyed the white peach! Very flavorful. We also ordered a basket of scones. We got 2 regular scones and 2 of the white chocolate raspberry scones (special of the day). Both were delicious, but the white chocolate raspberry scones were amazing!! The scones came with lemon curd, sweetened whipped cream, and raspberry jam. All three went perfectly with the scones. The lemon curd was my favorite. My cousin has a major gluten allergy and Heather was kind enough to tell us that if we make a reservation and let her know about the allergy, she'd bake something that my cousin can eat. I went back this past weekend while on vacation and my fiancé and I got the last table and I couldn't have been happier. The jasmine pearl tea was just as amazing as I remembered. I was sitting at work one day and had a craving for some home made scones, I looked up a few recipes and was planning on making some, then I thought no, I'm too tired. I then open up yelped app started to look for some shops near by that makes homemade or starch made, then steeped in comfort popped up and when I looked at the reviews I was a bit skeptical, so, I called them to see if they will hold some scones for me until I get off, they were so kind to do so. As I got to the shop it looked a little bit outdated like everyone has shared on their reviews. When I picked up my orders the owners were very friendly and greeted with a smile. I ordered three blueberry and lemon scones, one quiche and one cinnamon roll, but then as I was talking to them about the shop, I end up placing another order for egg sandwich as I was waiting we had a conversation and not knowing that they had had it open for more then 16 years, I was shocked! I was like..wow, how did I not know about this shop, mind you, I'm a Washington gal, born and raised! I also, love traveling around to go to new pop up shops even if I have to drive for hours. Ok, time to talk about the food, when I got in the car I didn't drive off, I ate the first scones in the drive way, that first bite was soooo amazing!!! the scone was perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the fresh blueberries and lemon icing, had just the right amount or salt and the soft crumbs. I was so, happy!! I end up eating two on my way home, I was calling my niece and son tell them all about the shop, while eating it. When I got home I couldn't wait to try the rest of the orders, me and my son also, amazed how soft and fluffy the cinnamon roll was, he said mom this is the best cinnamon roll i ever ate! The blanched of the sweet and salty was perfect! Now on to the quiche, the portion size was big, I was able to cut it into two pieces, you do get it cold, I warmed it up in my air fryer, it was firm held together, creamy and had a blanched of flavor. Last for the egg salad sandwich, it was simple but tasty! The next following day, I called to place 12 scones order for Mother's Day, I ordered the blueberry and lemon and the fair scones, when I brought it over for my family to try they said it was the best they ever had. I have been severely disappointed in this place my last few attempts go enjoy a Saturday Lunch here. I understand reservations are recommended, I've been here before, Ive seen it on the door. But to not be able to accommodate 1 person for a Lunch 20 min after you open while you only have 1 table filled with just 2 people is not practical. You said you had parties until 2, very well so but you have a table for 1 in the back surely there's not going to be an outkast from the large party who's going to sit there alone. And then I asked if I could just get a couple of scones to go then and you said no because you didn't know how many the party was going to want.... Like what? This is poor business planning why would you put all of your scones in 1 basket for the party? You knew they were coming why didn't you bake extra for walk ins that you were going to turn away who would have been satisfied with just a scone? Don't get me wrong, the food here is good. The owners however should maybe stay in the kitchen and hire someone for operations, customer service and planning, like get a director to run this place. I will probably never come back here which is too bad because it's close to where I live but they are just so unaccomadating and full of weak excuses, they don't even try. read more
