I've been to this Steer n Stein location a couple of times now since I've moved farther away from the Rancho Cucamonga location. I always get the specialty steak, medium-well and butter-flied, and the steak was tender and perfectly cooked both times. I might even say this location is better than the Rancho location?? Loved the baked potato and crunchy toasted bread but the salad is pretty basic. Not a problem because I'm really there for the steak! It's a strange setup that you park behind the restaurant and have to walk around the restaurant to the street side to enter. Bummed that they didn't carry Coke products, only Pepsi, but it forces me to drink more water so all good. read more

Best steakhouse, great ambiance, still has the old school vibe that the usual chain steakhouses lack. This restaurant survived Covid, that alone says a lot. We did a lot of curb side pick up here during that time, and they did not disappoint. Appetizers are great, to top it off. There was only one time where we got bad service, and that was about 3 years ago, we didn't complain or anything. That didn't stop us from going back though and we never saw that waitress again (someone else may have complained). We've been coming here for years, and the one in Victorville since I was a young child, and we hope we will for many more years to come. Thank you Steer n Stein for being you and staying you. I wish their was a way to give a place zero stars. My family and I have been coming here for years and over the last couple years quality has went down, to the point it hit rocket bottom. We got a couple stakes as we do everytime we come in and the cow was still mooing. I've never been somewhere and gotten a steak this raw. As to make matters worse the employees are the rudest people ever, as someone who works in the service industry myself I could never imagine being this rude to customers. We walked back in to get new steaks like they said they would give us they would not give us a refund but they only offered to remake them and they were so rude , refusing to let us talk to a manager and pointing and laughing and obviously talking about my family and I. The employees are here the most horrible people ever and I can't believe anyone would come here for food, management sucks, empoylees suck. After a bad experience at another restaurant in Moreno Valley we decided to stop by at Steer n Stein. When we arrived the restaurant was clean and the hostess was friendly. We were sat right away and had our order taken. We ordered the fish and chips with a side order of salad and fries and a strawberry lemonade. The salad was fresh and crispy, I have to admit they have the best salad. We also ordered the fried zucchini and they were fried to perfection. A few minutes later our fish amd chips arrived along with our side of fries, the fish a d fries were crispy and delicious. The whole meal was outstanding. Second trip in was times better than my last Togo order a few years ago. This time we ate at the restaurant. We had a 40 minute wait, while waiting they offered water, which was a nice touch. They were completely packed. Upon sitting the waiter came pretty quick to order drinks. We ordered our meals with the Appetizer Sampler. The only issue we had was they served our sides first and when our Ribeyes came out he brought the appetizer at thw same time. The food was hot and tasty. I ordered the Ribeye with a house salad and chili soup and it came with a slice of garlic toast. Everything was great. The sampler came with 3 halves of potato skins, 4 onion rings and several fried zucchini (too much for 2 people). Overall great food, will be back next time I'm in town for business. read more

I ordered a to go order on May 6,2026 I went to pick it up and I called in because I had my two grandchildren that are one and two years old and ask if they would bring it out to the car and the host was nice enough to do it. this is $100 order for my husband's birthday and I tipped $10. I get home and each dinner is missing one of the items rice peel off on one and steak fries on the other plate. I live 30 minutes away. When I called i ask for the manager and the lady that came to the phone said she was a manager then later says she is the person in charge and tells me that's why they have a sign in the front saying customers should check their orders and this one time she would allow me to come back and pick up those two items that I paid for and did not get because they made a mistake and that's all she can do. This was probably the worst dinning experience I have ever had in a long time. The place is old and dingy but the bathrooms are clean. The service was horrible the girl only came up to us twice once to take our order the other to drop off the food. We had to get up and find some to help us pay and when we asked where do we pay she had such an attitude and was just not friendly at all. I told our waitress we had never been and she didn't recommend or offer any suggestions. The food did come out fast but it was mediocre at best. I absolutely love Steer n Stein but today I was extremely upset! I always use Apple Maps to check what times restaurants close and it said 8:30pm. Today is my Mothers Last day in California before she moves 1,024 miles away to Oregon. This is her favorite restaurant and I really wish we could have shared this last experience together. We walked into Steer n Stein at 7:30 and they said they were closed. The sign on the door says 8. Apple Maps says 8:30. Google Maps says 8. As long as they have been around I feel that all apps should be updated with the correct hour by now. And if they stop serving at 7:30 then that should be noted as well. I'm not complaining about the food in no way at all I'm just disappointed in the hours of operation and unnecessary miscommunications. Unfortunately Steer n Stein will never taste the same without my mother sitting next to me so I will most likely never return. This could have all been avoided if the times were updated.
