I called on recommendation from our pool guy to get my deck drains cleared out as the water was taking an extremely long time to drain after the last big rain we had a few months ago. Art and Luis arrived and jetted the drains. Unfortunately they discovered roots and a broken pipe in a section of the drains that needed to be dug up. Art came back the next day and dug the trench and pulled out as many roots as possible and replaced the broken pipe (which was also completely full of dirt and roots) and explained everything as he worked. Although Art was able to get the water to drain well, unfortunately some roots remain in a section that is under concrete which we have decided not to take care of at the moment. Art explained what would be needed in detail should we need/decide to take care of that in the future along with what we should regularly do to maintain our drains going forward. Art also tested our gas line for a future pool water heater install. Art then spent time cleaning the dirt from our deck after he completed everything. This is the ONLY company I use for repairing my air conditioner/heating unit in my home. I had to find a receipt from 2008 to remember who fixed it then because they did excellent work then and they did excellent work yesterday. Their prices are VERY fair and their employees are very knowledgeable and nice. They don't try to rip you off at all. The last time I had my duct work replaced on top of the repair I needed. They were so reasonable I asked how much would they charge for the duct work, and that was reasonable too, so I had them do it. Yesterday I had them come out because I had a small water leak. The repair guy showed me what was wrong, cleared the line and showed me what was clogging the water line. Cleaned the unit inside and outside. I don't write reviews much but I know when it comes to A/C and heating problems, some companies will rip you off or they don't really know what they're doing. Stephens is the BEST by far. Two stars because they are at least presentable looking and courteous when speaking to them. These guys have been contracted by the Miraleste Canyon Estates HOA for several projects including working on a water main. Which they have had to do OVER and OVER and OVER again. I understand that working on a water main requires you to cut off water to those it supplies, but when you are having to do it four or five days every month for the last several months, clearly you are doing a project you do not have the man power for. Every time they work on it and give an estimated time for the water to be turned back on it is at least and hour or more before the water is turned back on. I used Stephens on 3 different occasions for 3 different problems my house had in the past year, and each time they showed up as promised, were able to complete the job in a timely manner, and charged less than the competitors. On one of these occasions I called out one of the major plumbing companies that advertise on the radio about their pleasant smelling plumbers and the amount they quoted me was outrageous! The major company wanted $1200 for a repair that Stephens did for $300!!! The plumber for the major company told me that I called them and their price is their price! Williams was the tech that showed up to clear my clogged bathtub drains. He was polite, respectful and honest. I love an honest repairman who doesn't try to sell me a bill of goods. He demonstrated and explained the process of determining if the problem was with the main line or just locally in the bathtub drain lines. If it had been the main line, I would have been charged a higher fee. It wasn't the main line, thank goodness. Also worth mentioning, I had shopped around before choosing Stephens Plumbing.
