My friends and I found ourselves child free on a Saturday morning, which is rare these days, so we were thrilled to try a new spot for brunch! I will say the vibes were there, and our waitress was so sweet and apologetic when my order came out incorrect. The food however was not so impressive, and unfortunately that was the consensus of the table as well. I had the breakfast burger, and we all split the deviled eggs. My fries were soggy (as though they'd been sitting all day- we were there at opening) and bland. The deviled eggs were near inedible as they were incredibly salty (one of my friends compared it to when ocean water gets up your nose... unfortunately accurate). My burger came out without egg or bacon, which I feel is important to a breakfast burger so I spoke up which is not usually like me, and they were kind about quickly fixing the plate which I appreciate. Perhaps as a new addition to the area they are still working out some kinks! We're excited to give it another go for dinner and see if that pans out; we're hopeful! read more

Dropped my napkin, and waitress stood at the cash register (directly behind me) for a while and brought me back the one I had dropped. Spent are really nice afternoon with my wife at STIR. Ambiance and service were great. We ordered the following: Lobster Crab cakes. Just a hint of lobster but generous helpings of crab, little filler, nicely prepared Spicy tuna bites. Beautifully seasoned sushi rice with raw tuna, citrus, pineapple and so much more. Very unique and definitely a go to item for future visits. Cheesburger eggrolls. Skins were a bit thick but otherwise tasty. Cocktails were also great. read more

I live in the area so have been to this place many times. The atmosphere is good, parking is convenient and the staff is friendly. But I've never gone to a places where the prices are so far from the quality of the food served. I have gone there when the food was good but three out of every five times I've gone, either I or my friends have returned at least one food item. There's just no consistency in the kitchen. Atmosphere only goes so far when there are so many restaurants just down the block that charge far less and are better. Last time my friends and I visited we didn't eat one appetizer, returned another then went across the street to Yeehaw for drinks and the rest of our dinner. Even the food at pickle Park is better. Crazy but true. They don't have the boughie atmosphere at either place but the food is consistent. I might go there for drinks in the future but if I'm looking for good food Sobys, Halls or Coral are a short walk away. read more

Literally the best drink I've ever had. This place is top notch, from the great service (Kyre, very attentive but not overbearing), to the creative drink ideas. The bathroom space was cozy and had a nice jazz ambiance, that's what I like when I need to get away for a second. The tiled flooring is a nice throwback and makes me want to return. Had a reservation for 7:30 on a Tuesday. I realize that things can get busy when an event happens, however we waited a full hour and a half for our food to arrive. I had to order an extra iced tea because we waited so long the one I had, the ice had melted and it got watered down (didn't want to drink all of it before the food got there because god knows when that would have been, or if I had to wait an hour for a refill.) It got to the table just as we were about to leave. 90 minutes for shrimp and grits and a burger and fries. When the order came, the burger was way undercooked because they obviously rushed it out (probably forgot the ticket all together) and the fries I ordered didn't have the truffle oil or Parmesan I requested on them. Which, whatever. Until they charged us for it anyway. You would think that if you had guests waiting 90 min for anything a manager would have come out to make sure everything was okay, but to be honest, I couldn't even identify a FOH manager. They were probably in the BOH because whoever the chef or KM was clearly couldn't handle the pressure. I was hoping to leave a good review as I had waited a long time to have dinner here with my wife and really anticipated the experience. Sorry, but go if you want to. I hope your experience is better than ours. Five guys actually makes a better burger, even though I know this place "isn't known for that." Waste of 100 dollars. Post edit. I rarely write reviews but our experience at STIR was so disappointing. Service was horrible. We ordered drinks and apps at the same time. Apps came out way before cocktails. Our server never cleared the table or checked on food/drink quality. Several people sat with no drink for a long time. Finally ask a manager who walked by to clear the table and find our server for additional drinks. Entrees then came out cold. Butter on the steak didn't even melt. Ravioli totally cold like it just came out of the fridge. The manger offered to remake the cold food and guess what? The remade food was COLD TOO! Then he offers us free dessert and the crème brûlée was soup under the burned sugar not custard and the cake was gritty. Bad service. Horrible food. Overall atmosphere seems like a chain restaurant. 10/25, I just want to point out our server was great and the food was good. Worked service industry before, place was busy no big deal, but here were the issues... we had reservations, and they didn't have a table for us, so the hostess asked if we would be okay sitting outside or at a high top at the bar. We chose the high top. 2 soups were ordered, kitchen sent them out 15 minutes apart, and both without spoons (?). This was the issue: center cut filet was ordered, fat all in it. The server was great, very apologetic; however, the manager tried to blame the server for the issue, and then the distributor? Own up to the problem, but don't throw your service staff under the bus, man. Especially when it was the food, and it was not the server. read more

We ordered drinks and got them 20 mins later yet there were atleast 4 bartenders (a weekday around 6pm). I had to send my "pornstar martini" back because it was a luke-warm purée so sweet I couldn't take it. The description said nothing about a purée though others had it in their description. The waiter was kind enough to comp it for us. The stuffed olives with his martini were covered in wet blue cheese, clouding the drink. The oysters Rockefeller were sub par, but edible. The chopped salad was a decent portion enough to share- we liked the addition of chickpeas. It was overloaded with salad dressing (order it on the side!) He ate his chicken but said he wouldn't order it again. I may be spoiled by what Charleston had to offer since that's where I moved from, but I expected more due to the hype this new restaurant had received online. read more

I've been looking forward to trying this restaurant. When I arrived it was spacious with a nice atmosphere. The service was a bit slow and confusing but I get it it's new and they were just trying to figure things out give them a little and they will get it down..The food however is what I was truly disappointed about.. the fish was overcooked. I love oysters and the oysters I had I honestly was a bit hesitant to eat, it had some creatures in them I've never seen before. I would def not go back there for the seafood. My wife and I just moved to Greenville from Charlotte. Stir is one of her favorite places in Charlotte so we thought we would give it a try. Walked in at 150, didn't sit until 220 even though there were tables. Quickly, I guess, we figured out why. Extremely slow service. 22 mins to get a drink delivered after sitting for almost 10 mins. Also took forever to get our food. Wife got chicken that was abnormally chewy and hard to cut through. Then there was hair in the side salad. We got the chicken comped but ut was a terrible experience and we will not be back. Not sure why so many failures but definitely a massive let down read more

Don't get the hype about this spot other then its new. Went on 6/22 a Sunday with reservations at 3 pm. First off the place is noisy and I mean real noisy on the inside. There were four of us and none of us have hearing issues but honestly there were multiple times we couldn't hear each other when speaking in a normal voice. For all the money they spent you would think they would have sound absorbers in the ceiling. Our server was fine but a bit overwhelmed. We ordered four drinks and it took close to twenty minutes from the time we ordered until the drinks arrived. The food offerings were average and didn't see any unusual items that are not offered by other restaurants of similar type in Greenville. One diner ordered shrimp and grits only to be informed that they ran out. Seriously you run out of shrimp and grits? Finally their signature burger plate was over salted from the first bite. Two of us had that entree and both were over salted. Will go back but probably not until fall to see if there's any improvement. read more
