I came in on a Sunday evening with a friend. The downtown area was pretty dead and this was one of the few places that were actually open at 8pm. We sat at the bar and got a few of their beers before ordering. We got the Stitch House OG Burger, Cheesesteak Eggrolls, Truffle Fries, and Whole Wings with Locale Post BBQ sauce. The food as actually really good for bar food. I especially liked the wings which were both crunchy and moist. The staff were also attentive and nice. This place has a nice, shady outdoor patio, so I stopped by for an early Sunday dinner. The beer selection was artisanal in that they offered styles of beer like Maizan, a triple, a smoked beer and an English bitter...with a few pale ales and a double ipa. Most brewery lead with IPAs, but this place went countercurrent. I ordered the Reuben based on another Yelp review, but asked for and got a Caesar salad. Stopped here for late lunch because it was literally steps from the Doubletree Hotel I was staying at & it has previous good reviews on YELP. Sat at the bar & it was not crowded, which I was surprised about because the St. Patrick's Day parade had just ended. I tried their pale ale & ordered a Cobb Salad. The bartender was caught up in chatting with some regulars so another guy took my order. I got their cilantro lime vinaigrette on the side. The salad was kale, instead of lettuce. It had a shit ton of bacon on it & chicken. It was a large & tasty salad. The portions I saw other people order looked large. It's large inside with a long bar. They have wine & cocktails too. Hungry and thirsty called for a Yelp look thru to find a brewery that had food. We were in luck, the Stitch House was only a few miles off the beaten path. The food, though really good, is mostly sandwiches and burgers. Interestingly enough they serve a fried bologna sandwich which I haven't seen that in years. The beer was super. A coconut Pete porter which had a very malty caramel flavor. But the shining star was the Rauch House, an excellent lager, rich in malt, a great smokey Märzen, best I've ever had. Really nice place to hang out and meet with friends. Beer and drink selection is fair. Menu is decent and both times I've been I've had a burger which was excellent. First time with fries and most recently with a salad. Salad had a fresh variety of greens and balsamic dressing was light and delicious. Great improvement over first visit. read more

I was really excited to try Stitch House because it came as a recommended place to get dinner. It is decorated really nice with white christmas lights, wooden features and a view of the brewery. The food was mediocre though. I ordered a wrap with chicken, mozzarella, pesto sauce and asked for no tomatoes. It came it with chips and I asked for a side of mustard. The wrap came out with tomatoes and I had to ask for the mustard again. Normally I wouldnt mind, but there was only one other group in the place while we were there so it wasn't busy. The homemade chips were good. The prices were also very reasonable. The waitress didn't check in very often. My husband wanted another beer but the waitress was sitting at a table eating with the other person who worked there. So I also felt like the service could be better. I would try it again and see if another sandwhich or wrap had more flavor. It looks like it would be a good place for a group and also a fun place to get drinks. I was surprised at how empty the place was for a Saturday afternoon, especially with temps in the 70's and outdoor seating available. Our server was very nice, but lacking in the service department. We never did end up getting napkins and silverware. We used the small cocktail napkins that were served under our chip and onion ring buckets. Since I didn't have a knife, I used the wood skewer that was holding my sammie together to spread the cranberry sauce. And as the server brought us our food, my husband asked for another drink. He never did get that drink :\ On to the food. I ordered the Canberry Turkey Wrap, but asked to sub the wrap for sourdough bread and cranberry on the side. The bread was good, it just wasn't sourdough. If it was, they forgot the sour. Only half of my sandwich had brie and the dijonnaise was missing the dijon. As a brewery, I would have thought that the onion rings would have been beer battered, but instead they were frozen? I think? The chips on the other hand, which my husband had, were thick and had a nice crunch. We tried three different beers and none were standouts to me. In line with our overall experience. read more

Having lunch at the Stitch House on Market Street and it was so good. Loving the Rueben with an upgrade to fries for $1.50 and the beer is great. The pale ale "stolen cocktail" with an ABV 5.5 didn't disappoint. My friend had a Caesar salad that was super fresh. I noticed they have a seasonal salad with watermelon on the menu. They have a weekday special for $12.00 including a skillet and 1/2 sandwich. I want to come back for that. On Sundays, they have brunch from 10am -2pm. The food is so good, fresh, and creative. Exceptional customer service. The restaurant is clean and modern with an exposed brick wall at the entry. The lighting creates an industrial style and highlights the walls and brick. This review is mainly on the beers and service, but we did have the Cheese Curds and they were really good. The Curds were really crispy on the outside and had a great flavor dipped in the aioli. The service was excellent. My wife has an allergy that prevents from having some types of beers. They handled it very seriously and found out that she could have all of the beers available. The server was very attentive and friendly. In general the beers were good, some very good, and I enjoyed all but one which I thought was just ok. Tropic Thunder - Grapefruit Pale Ale - Good taste but I wanted more grapefruit flavor. Good beer. Rye Knot - Rye IPA - My favorite out of the flight. Very good. Had a nice spice taste due to the rye. Raunch House - Smoked Marzan - Also very good. Nice smoky flavor. First time and pleasantly surprised. Early Friday night dinner before a show at the Grand. All the food we had was very good. Excellent house made chips. The 3 of us each had a different panini. Short ribs, chicken cutlet, and Caprese. Shoe string French fries tasted fresh but were a bit soggy. We were all happy with our sandwiches which were not at all gloppy or over seasoned. Very nice IPA. Our server Kevin was very polite, friendly and attentive. The service overall is upscale. Cloth napkins. Very clean. Nothing else about this place was mediocre and soon, I'm *sure* the service will match the atmosphere, the food, and the beer! We came here only 2 weeks after it opened so I will dry lenient on service. But the beer, the beer didn't need time to prove itself. Breweries have a tendency to all taste the same but these were well developed and very tasty. A wide range for all types of beer lovers. The food, though an hour late, was good! I'd definitely order the nachos and crab dip again. We didn't have time to eat dinner but if it weren't for a meeting and the long wait, I would have ordered the scallops. Can't wait to update! This place has so much potential. The craft beer. The kitchen and menu. The prices. The location. Even the ambiance (not my taste, but trendy if a bit loud). Too bad the front of house service makes it a place to avoid. We had reservations for 6PM and arrived a few minutes early. When the host arrived, she wasn't friendly or welcoming and didn't even ask our name. She grabbed menus and took us to our table. The waiter came along and my partner asked about the beers included on Happy Hour, since it had an hour to go. No problem--happy hour prices aren't honored at tables. Only the bar. Would've been nice if the menu or sinage said so. Or if the waiter even cared. Nevertheless, we ordered two beers, including an interesting whit. The menu lists a number of creative gastro pub items. We had the roasted red pepper bisque and buffalo chicken sandwich, upgraded to include a salad. Everything was fresh and skillfully prepared. But the sandwich didn't come with the advertised bleu cheese condiment. It would've complimented the medium heat coating on the chicken. And our server was no where to be found. We finished our entire meal before he--or anyone--came to see how we were doing. Since our service had been so attentive, I asked for the check because, only God knows how long it would take. The waiter whipped out his mobile card reader ready to take my card. I asked for a paper check. That took another 5 minutes. He just roughly put it on the table without a word. Our check was $64 for two exclusive of tip. I paid cash. I'd eat the food again, but if I want uncaring indifferent service I can go to lots of other places and not spend so much. read more

The food was good, nothing special though. I ordered a chicken wrap and it was tiny. To upgrade to truffle fries was an extra $5 on top of a $17 tiny wrap. So for the food itself, it's not really worth the price for portion and flavor. I would have given 4 stars if the only issue was food... the service was sooo slow. It was like 10 minutes before a waiter even brought over water to the table and greet us. The food came out quickly after ordering but unfortunately we never saw our waiter again to ask us how the food is, refill our drinks or anything. Second time here. First time on a weekend with beer and then on a workday so no beer! The service was great by Julie. We were seated right before a large party and Julie managed it all very well! I had a fried green tomato sandwich and an arugula side salad for $12. I loved the salad it had goat cheese crumbles, walnuts, cranberries and arugula. The dressing was a light lemony oil. Licked the plate! My fried green tomato was over done but I enjoyed the bread. My friend got the $12 special with a chicken sandwich and Caesar salad. The portions are perfect. He said he Caesar lacked flavor but wasn't bad. We had soda and iced tea, beer looked great! Gem in the evolving downtown Wilmington scene on Market Street. The area is surprisingly open and spacious for a downtown spot. Very clean as well. You can see the brewing process through the glass doors to the right of the entrance. There is a big bar, standing tables, and a lot of seating. We got a flight of beers with our favorites being Big Stitch Nick (Foles tribute) and coconut porter. Not to mention their smoked beer which was very unique and a must try. There were many more that we'd like to try and would certainly come back to do so. They have a lot of food options for a brewery including soups, salads, chili, appetizers, and sizzlers (small/medium/large). Their Mac and cheese was creamy with a toasted cornbread topping. We took advantage of their half sandwich and small sizzler lunch special ($12). We got the pesto chicken sandwich and smoked chicken salad sandwich. Both were a perfect balance of flavor with crispy panini bread. If you're in the area and looking for a a good local brewery I'd say look no further! read more

I've been to Stitch House twice and have had good experiences. The beer is good, I especially love the Boysen in the Hood sour - so delicious! Both times I also had the Reuben sandwich with truffle fries and its SO good. The truffle fries are perfect. The bartenders/wait staff are all helpful and very friendly. Stitch House is a brewpub, with decent pub food and a selection of house-brewed beers. It's all capable and competent...but then again it's also not amazing. The food leans a little more heavily on the salt and fat than the Washington Street Alehouse and Iron Hill nearby, but the biggest problem is parking. If I were to go to dinner in downtown Wilmington, I'd never pick Stitch House over Iron Hill: the food and drink isn't so much better that I would pay for parking and / or walk for it.
