Dined in a few weeks back and I really love how this restaurant captures the best of several Southeast Asian identities! Usually when I go to Southeast Asian food spots, they're either a combination of Vietnamese and Thai or Thai and Laotian foods; this place covered a majority of Southeast Asia! The menu offers a diverse set of dish options which allows customers to really try a variety of different flavors accustomed to different cultural taste palettes. The restaurant is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. Inside the venue, it is spacious with plenty of windows to let light in. Seating is widely spaced too, so for all those who have taken a liking for social distance, this helps a lot. I ordered the drunken noodles and crab rangoon - absolute *chef's kiss!* The drunken noodles weren't too oily like other places I've had the dish at, but were still packed with such strong flavors. The crab rangoon complemented the noodles well and had a nice crisp outer layer. While this place is a little more pricey than other Southeast Asian places I tend to go to, its quality is definitely worth it. I left feeling full without the heavy sense of being groggy after eating a meal like this! I can't wait to try other dishes they have here! read more

We ordered the pad thai, seafood pad thai, banh mi, and panang curry. The curry is one of the best Ive tried, it was insanely good, very well seasoned without tasting like they just used a bunch of MSG. Its a large portion as well so easily shared between two people with some rice. The banh mi (pork) was also REALLY good, super tender and succulent meat in between fresh crunchy bread. Very fairly priced for how big the sandwich is as well. Now the pad thai was pretty good. Nothing special but not bad at all, you would never be disappointed ordering pad thai here. We did have an issue with our seafood pad thai, however. First, it didn't taste as well seasoned as our regular pad thai and, second, the squid tasted a bit off. We were displeased as the regular pad thai was really good so we expected this to be on par or even better (especially since the seafood version is marked up quite a bit) but we probably wont try that again. My reason for leaving this review though was their incredible customer service. When i brought our issue to the lady's attention we had ordered with, she immediately took care of us. Didn't question if "our taste was off" or anything weird. She was very kind had zero issue with making things right as some restaurants often due. My family and i cant wait to come back! P.S. don't let the "little hole in the wall" vibe fool you. It was my parents and I first time at this restaurant. It used to be next to a Mediterranean restaurant on willow pass and now it moved to monument. When we went, there was a huge accident on the street and it was difficult to get to the parking lot of the restaurant. We ordered, the pork belly kapraw, pad woon sen, crispy pata, and iced thai coffee. We loved every entree we got but the crispy pata came with atchara and my mom found a single dark hair in it. We ordered through Doordash and had free delivery. -Crispy Ra Na -STIX papaya salad -Thai beef jerky -Sweet rice with mango The crispy RA Na looked unusual when we got it. The crispy noodles and the sauce came separately, looking like an order of soup and fried white fish. Surprisingly it was the one we liked the most. The sweet rice with mango was the best. But I'm biased toward mango sticky rice as long as it's what I was expecting. The beef jerky appetizer was unique to pairing it with the fish sauce it came with. read more

I ordered a ton of dishes and some apps as well and I thought everything was pretty solid. Stix Eatery has moved from their previous location in Park N Shop and takes over the building that was previously OK Cafe. Their new location is definitely smaller compared to before, so it's best suited for diners who prefer a cozy ambience. For appetizers, I opted for the Angel Wings. The wings have a unique, addictive flavor of sweet, savory, and sour. Onto the entrees, Crab Fried Rice had a good amount of shredded Dungeness crab, was seasoned well, and tasty. Pad Thai with Chicken had noodles coated in a sweet and savory sauce with thick pieces of chopped chicken. I thought this dish could have benefitted from a little more sauce, but other than that it was delicious. Tofu and Eggplant was well-cooked, caramelized, and paired well with the tofu. Crisp string beans, red bell pepper, and basil were great additions to the dish. Also comes with your choice of white or brown rice. Last but not least, the Sweet Rice with Mango had a coconut sauce that was lightly sweet and I loved the texture of the sticky rice. Presentation-wise, the ripe mango pieces had a nice design! Overall I enjoy the food, the employees are friendly and I will be back to try more items from their menu. read more

We've ordered pick-up from here twice. First time here was back when they were at their old location on Willow Pass Road. We had ordered Hawaiian Fried Rice and Pad See-Ew. Both were great the first time we ordered. We came here recently (Oct. 2021) since we were craving their fried rice. Unfortunately their food quality has gone down by a lot. We ordered Hawaiian Fried Rice ($13 each) again, one with pork and one with chicken. The dish was completely flavorless, the chicken was incredibly dry and tough. It was not appetizing at all, ended up eating a few bites and going elsewhere for food. 1 star for good portion size and 1 star for the pork being okay (not dry, but flavorless). Not worth the price at all and we won't be coming back again. read more

This place is a relatively new addition to the area. First off, I don't care the the location. There's shady characters usually lingering around, and part of it is due to the check cashing joint next door. But it's close to the office, so it's pretty convenient. There's also beers on tap, which is always a plus! But alas, on this lunch, it wasn't all that great. In fact, I would have given it 2 stars for the food, but my buddy insists that it was an off day. I also liked the large interior, so I bumped it up another star. I ordered a standard order of pad thai for lunch. I've had pad thai hundreds of times from so many different restaurants, so I do have a baseline for it. First off, it's $12. $12 for noodles is really steep, and I was expecting some really good stuff. The dish came in, I took one look at it, and knew off the bat it wasn't gonna be that great. How did I know? It was wet. Not even a little wet, but it was almost soupy. Way too wet folks, and shame on the cook for letting this out the kitchen (assuming they don't usually cook it this way). I don't think they cook it this way as the pic on the menu looked perfectly done. I hate to send food back, mostly because I have no idea what they would do to my replacement meal. I just ate some of the dish and most of the chicken. I feel like the waiter should have asked if anything was wrong with it as I left half and didn't bother to take it back with me. I decided to dine in with my dad today. OMG sooo flavorful! Honestly came in with high expectation and walked out satisfied. I don't quite know anything about southeast Asian cultural and their food. So I may be wrong, but at first I thought STIX was Thai but I'm pretty sure it might be Lao. Which is very similar in away but I prefer this place compare to any other southeast asian restaurant I been too. We got: Lao Sausage - Very unique flavor. Tasted a lot of lemongrass and it's super juicy with a bit of spice. Pho Kai - Its Pho Ga but strong flavor of garlic. It was soothing though. I like garlic and especially in a soup. If you're a garlic fan than I recommend this. Tofu and egg plant with chicken added- the flavor in dish was very light. Maybe that's due to the fact that other dish kind of overshadow this dish. This entree comes with a rice (choice: white, brown, sticky). Combo druken noodles- the noodles were fried, which I misread in the description so I was very surprised but it's good. One down side is that you can't keep eating this til the end. It's heavy in a way that you'll want soda to soothe down the oiliness inside. BUT this dish flavor and the veggies were one of my favorite out of all the dish we ordered. It's sweet but yet has a bit of savoriness in there. Definitely two people portion for all entrees! Each one of the dish has their own taste and it's great. Super convenient with their menu! It's their online menu that you can order ahead from! Located on the other side of 99 Ranch, towards Brendan, STIX Eatery took over a long time McDonald's storefront in this shopping center 2-3 years back. It is mainly a Thai restaurant, with some Laotian influenced sprinkled about the menu here and there. The inside of STIX has a clean, and casual design. Doesn't look like a quick eat out cafe, but also doesn't look too fancy as if it's a full sit down restaurant. It certainly does seem to have a kind of take-out feel to it, but don't be fooled, it's a sit down place. Pretty spacious, with many tables on both sides of the restaurant, as the restaurant is in an L shape, and fairly deep in each direction. They have longer tables, and some slightly smaller tables as well, so it's decent for large parties, and small. The service here is not too bad. One thing to note, when my friend and I arrived, it was still in the middle of Happy Hour, as they seem to have a pretty decently long period of time for their Happy Hour menu. I do wish though that the server would have let us know about that, as many of the items we ordered were items on the Happy Hour menu, which were cheaper. Of course, we were told that the portions would be slightly smaller, but still would have at least liked to know about the option. Minor issue though. As I've noted, overall the service was friendly, and attentive. Menu has a good selection to choose from. Separated out into sections at some parts, I could possibly see how some people may be overwhelmed a bit by the menu as there's a lot going on sometimes with some of the items listed. May be awhile to actually browse through things at first glance, so take your time. We ended up ordering a few things: STIX style fried calamari, Chicken Red Curry in sourdough bowl, and BBQ combination plate. The first thing that arrived was the STIX style fried calamari. There are two fried calamari on the menu, a regular one which is just the typical salt & pepper styling you'd find in most Asian style restaurants, and then there was their own specialty one, where they had a type of sweet chili type sauce that the calamari was drizzled in. The calamari itself was nice and tender. Not overcooked like some places, and just had a good texture to it. The sweet chili (may have also had fish sauce in it) was good too. Light, not too heavy. The one thing I did wish was done better was the batter. Unfortunately, the batter, while not excessive, felt a bit more bready than it ought to be when it's advertised as "lightly breaded". Could've been worst, but also could've been better. Next we'll move to the Chicken Red Curry. While the curry itself usually doesn't come in a sourdough bowl, you can add that as a feature for an additional cost. One thing to note, when STIX tells you that something is spicy, make sure to believe them. They are not lying. This place certainly knows how to do their spiciness, and it was a mistake that my friend dearly regretted. If you're deftly afraid of things being to spicy, make sure to tell them to not even include even the lowest level, as it's certainly something else. As far as flavoring goes, it was nice, like a typical Thai curry. Meat, bell peppers, eggplants, and other veggies inside of the bowl as well. The sourdough wasn't anything particularly special, but it did its job. The BBQ combination plate was probably the most underwhelming part of the meal unfortunately. The best of the meats was the pork, and the beef and the chicken were just okay. The beef however was just far too dry, far too well done, and when I chewed it it felt like I was eating rubber. At some points I couldn't even tell if it was beef, which was unfortunately. The chicken was okay as well. The texture was better from a meat perspective, but the flavoring was just the typical curry chicken glaze that's been BBQ. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't come back here just for it. The pork however was nicely done. Just enough fat on the meat to make it feel a bit juicier, but the glaze that they used for the pork was spot on, and just had that nice flavor to it as you chewed it. Texture was nice too, and it wasn't overly thick, or felt like it needed to be cut thinner. STIX Eatery offers a nice selection of Thai food menu items, along with some Laotian influences in many of the items. The service here is friendly, and fairly easy to flag someone down when you need something, with the occasional nobody at the front counter for a few minutes for one reason or another. The food here is okay. While it's not mind blowing, if you're in the area looking for decent Thai food, this isn't a bad option The cost of everything was a bit pricy, but roughly on par when it comes to Thai cuisine, but still on the more expensive side, with slightly more generous portions than some other places. I will most likely be back in the future, but will have to try a wider variation of menu items, as a couple of the ones from this visit just didn't hit the spot as I'd hoped it would. read more

My husband and I decided to try somewhere new since we were already in Concord and was craving Thai food. Found this place on Yelp and I'm so glad we came here for lunch. Positives 1. We were greeted, acknowledged and seated right away by Ko 2. Ko provided the menu, made suggestions, and asked if we needed more time before ordering 3. She informed of favorites on menu. 4. Soup of the day was given to us while we wait for our order 5. Ko thanked us for coming by and eating there Not so positive 1. It took a while to get our food (and we were already really hungry) The restaurant has some other name stated on the outside but STIX is shown on the window. Not easy to spot unless you have the navigation on. But plenty of parking as this is located in a small plaza. We ordered the Pad Thai and noodles were great especially with the sauce and it wasn't dry!! We also had the wings. It was pretty sweet ... tamarind Wings like ... it was saucy and was still very crispy so perfectly cooked. We also had the pork belly meal with a fried rice and that was delicious. The food was amazing! Super flavorful beef stew broth- tasted like a garlicy beef stew/pho. The flavor was packing and it certainly wasn't MSG because I was not feeling very thirsty afterward. They provide generous portions of meat and the Chinese broccoli compliments the meat perfectly. I also like that they have pickles on the side. The only miss was the Sriracha which I requested for that looked and tasted nothing like sriracha. The Pad Thai was also delicious and much more flavorful than the usual Thai restaurant. You could really tell they perfected the flavors. I wish it had a little more peanuts, but I could not complain as it was packing with flavor and generous in size. We also tried the Thai iced coffee which was very strong and fragrant. The service isn't the most responsive, but it's not necessary a large restaurant and most people go there for takeout. SUMMARY: We've been dining here for 3 years now and the food and service has been great since our initial visit in Sept 2017. Definitely try the dishes I recommend below. Now more than ever, SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS as businesses like Stix and other independents depend on your patronage. Google, Amazon, or Twitter are not going to build restaurants! BACKGROUND We decided to put our money where our mouth is this Christmas and New Years by ordering out and supporting small business this year for our meals. For Christmas we ordered from Lulu's (down the other end of the strip) and here for NY. We ordered for 4. FOOD There's definitely some dishes that have stood out for us over the years and we've gotten to know how they cook their dishes, so we ask for small tweaks to get the entrees to our liking. I'll highlight them below. BANH MI (5/5) Oh but first, they've gotten into making banh mi. Yup, banh mi! So earlier in the week, we decided to give it a try. Wow, really good! The bread was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. The filling choices are pretty broad, but in a nutshell, just about every meat choice you can order as an entree was available as a filling in their banh mi. I got lemongrass chicken and my wife got their pork belly. While we didn't take any pics, I can assure you that this is a premium banh mi, not an anemic one. Wife could only finish half and I was struggling to finish mine. They give you a side of sweetened daikon and carrots which was a nice touch. I wonder if they'd entertain a request for a fried egg w/ soft yoke? :) SALADS (5/5) We absolutely love their Papaya salad and you'd be remiss if you didn't order it as an accompaniment with your meal. It's definitely shareable with 2-3 people if ordered as an appetizer/side. We love the fact that it's always so fresh and uses the right amount of dressing and other vegetables in the right proportions. 5/5. We also love their cucumber salad. It's very basic and the sauce they make is not overly sweet. My mother and her Indonesian friend just smashed it for our New Year's lunch yesterday lol. In fact my mom's friend at every last bit and was eating the sauce w/ a spoon. I guess she really enjoyed the sauce that much! 5/5. CURRIES (4.5/5) I would say that all their curries have been pretty amazing. My personal favorite is their yellow and esp. their green curry. They do make it pretty mild and you can ask them to tweak it to your liking in terms of spiciness. I usually get 8/10, which is the limit for me. 6/10 is bearable for my wife and mother. When you order with shrimp, they give you a pretty generous amount too. The only one that I'm not in love with is the pumpkin because I'm not a fan of pumpkin, but wife loves it. NOODLES (4.5/5) We really enjoy two of their noodle dishes but with minor tweaks. Their Pad Thai is just as good as their other entrees, but we feel they could use a little less sauce so that's what we request and they always accommodate our request. They do have sliced pork, but we always request that they mince the pork (just our preference) and they do that with no fuss, which we appreciate.Same too with their Pad Se Ew with beef---request with lighter sauce. REALLY GREAT food, and a good value with the meat dishes! This place used to be located on Willow Pass Road a few years ago at the Park & Shop, but moved to its current location on Monument Blvd. The old location was larger and had more seating, but due to the pandemic, and thus, the growth of take out and delivery services, the new location is smaller but the menu selection is still fairly sizeable. We had the Hawaiian shrimp Curry and the taste was awesome. The shrimp were NOT overcooked like so many places will do (few chefs seem to know how to cook shrimp), We also had BBQ tri-tip and we're happy to see a generous portion of meat on the plate instead of likes many places that will give you only a little bit of meat on top of a bunch of vegetables or noodles. We also had the Khao Poon soup, it was slightly similar to a Tom Kha soup, but a Laos version, very tasty. Also had chicken Pad Thai which was great, no surprise there, but it had excellent flavor. Finally, we also ordered off the secret menu the crispy pork belly. It was VERY crispy and meaty, with a hefty pork flavor and not too salty. If I were you, and you've not been here before, try to eat there at the restaurant itself the first time so that you have a good idea of what it tastes like fresh out of the kitchen. One major problem I have with delivery services (aside from major add'l costs) is that your food is not fresh. It's been sitting in someone's car, probably getting steamed, for 15-30 minutes. For some foods like soups, this might not be a big deal, but for something like the tri-tip or the crisply pork, it's going to lower the quality of freshness. Go eat at the restaurant your first time, then try the delivery later. But in any case, these people are cooking good food in a sea of restaurants with poor quality offerings. read more

It took me a while to realize this is a Thai restaurant or supposed to be. I love how it is very casual and tropical looking inside. The menu offers a good selection that is perfect for lunch or dinner. I came on a cold day so I opted for their daily special of Boat Noodle soup. I was very excited because I haven't had a proper boat noodle soup for a long time! My husband got their BBQ pork over rice. The noodle soup came rather quickly and it offered a lot of pork chunks and delicious noodles. The broth is a bit too sweet for me and the pork is a bit tough to chew. Overall, it is an alright bowl as I continue to search for a great boat noodle soup. Nevertheless, my husband's grilled pork was excellent. It is flavorful and the meat is tender. The portion is also very filling while the price is superb. I am willing to try another dish here and I think their grilled chicken is going to be my top choice! read more

I love supporting this local restaurant especially since it is South East Asian - Thai / Laotian. But most importantly. the food they provide is lit. Very authentic and homemade-like. Delicious, tasty and abundant with portions. We don't dine here but I have picked up and delivered via doordash numerous times. In fact, this place is one of our main staples on doordash, so we order from this place at least once a month. The restaurant does have a parking lot so parking is available. They also have big tvs inside so you can watch sports. Our favorite main entrees are the following: Crispy Drunken Noodles - abundant portions, very crispy noodles with delcious sauce. Beef or chicken meat is tender and plentiful Khao Piek - clear based soup with rice noodles, chicken, scallion and fried garlic. Simple, yet very pleasant. Khao Poon - red curry based. It's heavy but packed with flavor. Can also use the soup with rice! For dessert, I like getting the pandan waffle and sweet rice with mango. Both are delicious. This place is a bit pricey but at least you get big portions. We will continue to support this place so long as it exists. read more

My friends and I didn't eat all day just because we knew we'd have dinner together haha. I had no idea this place existed - apparently it used to be McDonalds. S E R V I C E: Our waitress was super patient with us since it was our first time eating here. She convinced us to basically order everything off of the happy hour menu haha. However, we waited quite a bit for our food. There wasn't many people so we were confused why our food was taking so long...we did order a lot buuut it was happy hour portions! F O O D: They have the best Tom Yum soup. I was feeling sick and and was at that stage where I couldn't taste any food, but this soup helped clear my sinuses! We also ordered papaya salad with shrimp which was spicy and flavorful, their STIX wings which I could probably eat all day, yellow chicken curry; I've honestly had better but the portion size was big for happy hour, fried crab wonton filled with cream cheese was okay; it was kind of fishy, calamari, and the rest I couldn't taste because it was pork. I'm still kind of upset at my SO and I for not going to this place sooner. Sure, we've both scrolled past it many a time on Yelp, but we only started going in January 2022 at the newer Monument location. We liked the previous tenants OK Cafe quite a bit, but the flavors of Stix are unparralled in the area. You know those dishes that you talk about in every day but don't eat everyday(perhaps because you don't want to actually look like drunken noodle). It is indeed the drunken noodles and tofu grob for us. Yeah, like others have mentioned, both a little oily, but I eat out as a break from the quitiedien, kinda healthy meals, so both of these tasty, basil-icious dished just hit the spot. I've quipped to my SO that if they were to have opened under the late, great Hot Basil Cafe, the name would probably be more accurate that Stix. read more

Solid Thai/Laotian restaurant with a great selection of favorites. This has been my go-to place whenever I am craving Thai food. Although it was good upon my first try here, I feel like the food has gotten much more consistent and continues to impress. My favorites are the Spicy Chicken Pad See Ew, BBQ Meat Platter, Chicken Garlic Noodles, and their Fried Rice. Although the price seems a bit more expensive than neighboring Thai restaurants, they do give you a lot for your order. I have been impressed by all their drinks, from their Iced Coffees, Iced Teas, Virgin Drinks, and their Cocktails. This is a very welcomed addition to the eateries in Concord. Very glad this place exists. read more
