If you're in Houston you have to stop here for a burger. It was conveniently within walking distance of my hotel and I saw that it was a local place with good reviews so I had to stop in. I ordered the Big State Burger as soon as I saw it on the menu and man did I make the right choice. It's like the best double burger you've ever had, but better, because one of the patties has been replaced by a disc formed out of the steak from a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Absolutely delicious. So many interesting options on the menu to try. After a brief deliberation (even though we were starving and couldn't wait to eat), we decided on the Frito pie appetizer. Their chili is just right. Perfect mix of cheese, chili, and Fritos. The Honky Tonk burger was perfection. Nicely done fried/smashed beef patty with sliced sausage, bbq sauce, cheddar and Monterrey jack cheese, red onion, pickles on a made from scratch bun. So good! Seasoned curly fries were addictive. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I had to tap out after that. We did get desserts to go. Excellent service BTW. Stomps is excellent in every way. It's restaurant style so you sit and order. Although they do have a to go counter for orders as well. They do categorize as fast food and can definitely get you in and out in quickly especially if you have time constraints (such as lunch hour etc). You better go hungry! Their burgers are not your average size. Made fresh when ordered, you can't beat that. Quality burgers at a great value is the best way to put it. The burgers were cooked just right and were very juicy. The onion ring deserves a special mention because it was lightly battered and fried to perfection that the batter to onion ratio was perfect and you could definitely taste the onion more than the batter. I ordered the Texas Original Burger rattlesnake eggs and onion rings. Loved the onion rings but they can keep the rattlesnake eggs. They had way too much cream cheese and not enough jalapenos. I was right across the street from Stomp's and, having read the reviews on Yelp!, decided to give it a shot. I had the Stomp Burger, mac and cheese, and a chocolate shake to go. The hamburger and the mac and cheese were very good. The chocolate shake was outstanding! The young woman doing everything except the cooking was friendly and enthusiastic. We've visited the Bacliff location one time and it was okay but wanted to give this location a try. Service was 4/5 stars. Cleanliness was 5/5. I ordered a Single Stomper + seasoned waffle fries. Plate looked awesome when it was quickly delivered to the table. Burger was impressive in size and appearance, lacking in flavor. The stomper comes with guacamole and sour cream as part of the condiments and honestly those were the only flavors apparent. The burger lacked any type of seasoning or flavor at all. 1/5 The waffle fries were 5/5 and as good as I've had anywhere. My wife ordered parmesan garlic wings. Again, plate looked awesome. Sauce was packed with flavor but the wings were either baked or lightly fried as the skin was still soft and not crisp at all. Add the sauce on top of that and now you have a good tasting wing with a slimy texture when you take a bite. 2/5. We will try to heat them in the air fryer at home and dry them out but the texture ruined her appetite. Overall, disappointing. :-( read more

I'd give the food a 3, service/location/ and cleanliness a 5, so averaging to a 4. I thought the flavors on their foods were a little underwhelming, but I come from an ethnic family and used to lots of spices so maybe I'm not used to just a simple hamburger joint? I had a Philly cheesesteak, my wife tried their bean burger, and we got a chicken tenders and French fries for my son. I don't think the burgers were seasoned prior to cooking, the cheesesteak was nice and fatty, but the cheeses weren't very flavorful and I think it was missing a lot of salt and pepper in the cooking process. The service was exceedingly nice, several waiters came to help us out, the manager checked on us just to make sure we were happy. They got us all our food promptly, apple juice for my baby, and lots of recommendations for food. read more

We like the one south of Kemah, but not so much this one. They have a long bench like Burger Nation and a windmill on the wall like Mia's Table. We ordered our regular from the other place. It took 35 minutes to get a hamburger. We saw others who came after us being served. NOT GOOD! In addition at noon that parking lot is a nightmare. The entire lot is jammed so people are leaving regularly and the hotel behind the strip center had a fairly steady stream of traffic. The endless traffic on Bay Area blocked people from leaving so the line gets very long. For quite a while no one would let us in line. Can't blame them given how long they had to wait in that clot. I would love to give this more stars but I'm afraid three it's just going to be my limit the burger itself was good not a big fan of the bread not sure if it was stale or what the fries and the onion ring taste like they were fried in old grease or might have been sitting out for a while. This place is hands down better than any fast food chain. The food is always fresh, made to order and they're very accommodating to dietary consideration if you merely ask first, including carnivore/low carb. The staff is outstanding, front to back, given the opportunity. Every now and then you get some customers who are never satisfied and like to take out their miserable existence on the friendly staff. Just today, there was a couple that lost their minds over a single dollar without giving the staff an opportunity to manage the issue. These people need to step back and see how ridiculous they are being but, instead, they'll probably post a negative review when, in fact, they themselves are to blame. The wait staff engage in thousands of positive interactions with customers who would not take the time to post a positive review yet this particular store is quite popular.
