This restaurant in the middle of nowhere is amazing. We arrived with no reservation, late and the restaurant was full outside. We asked for a table on terrace and we have been invited to wait at the first floor. The decoration is nice like in an old country side house. The terrace is the best piece, amazing view on the mountains surrounding the Bryce Canyon National park, the ambiance with the lights is amazing and romantic. The food is just crazy good and fresh, the tapenade fantastic and the Beef just cooked perfectly. This place is overrated and overpriced. We arrived this evening for our dinner reservation, and before we even hit our seats, the waitress was rushing us to order. We asked for recommendations and she basically told us what she did not like as opposed to what she did like. She never smiled the entire time she took care of us. I ended up ordering the thing she said not to order and while it was tasty, it was extremely small and not filling. The only time she checked in on us was when we only had about two bites left of dinner and she was rushing us to make a decision about dessert. She then took our dessert order and never offered coffee or asked if we wanted anything else. She seemed miserable and it made the dining experience equally miserable. We eat at restaurants at least five times a week all over the country and also around the world, and this place was a big letdown. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. read more

Not accommodating. Server had a pretty bad attitude. We drove a long way there and they wouldn't let us eat.

Considering the very few choices for a good dinner near the Bryce Canyon Park entrance, my rating could be 4 star but I'll go with 3 star. We had a 5:00 reservation which is right when they open. We got there a few minutes early and waited in the car understanding they probably weren't able to accommodate early arrivals. At 5:00 we went to the door but it was still locked. We waited on the porch and a minute or two later we hard the door lock disengage. Might have been nice if someone had stuck there head out and said hi or come on in or whatever. We checked in with the hostess who wasn't overly welcoming. We were the first couple seated on the deck. We were given a 2-top in the middle. I should have asked about one of the 4-tops along the edge with a better view but figured they might be reserved for groups of 4. Nope, they seated the next several couples at those tables. A bit annoying. I was also disappointed there were no cocktails (we overheard others express same). Considering they served only beer/wine, their beer selection was disappointing. Only four or five cans listed, all microbrews, and one wasn't available. Really? Prices were a little high but not unreasonable except $6 for table bread? French onion soup and chili garlic prawns were both pretty good for starters. We got the fillet (medium rare +) and the ribeye (medium rare). The fillet was more like rare/medium to rare but that's why I ordered it "+" just in case. It was good. The ribeye was more like medium rare + or medium but it was a little on the thin side so it was somewhat understandable and was also pretty good. The vegan food was amazing. They knew what a vegan was and had food specifically for us. Our server Amy was very knowledgeable about the menu. Trey the host was amazing fitting us in on a busy holiday weekend. Our food was delicious, the stuffed poblano was was the right amount of spice. The marinated mushrooms and olives zesty mmm. Had a great dinner at Stone Hearth after looking for a steakhouse near where we were staying for the weekend. It was about a 40 min drive from us but well worth it! We made a reservation and were promptly seated when we got there, were lucky enough to get a table outside with a beautiful view. My boyfriend and I got the prawns and wedge salad and both were delicious! We opted to share the 14oz ribeye which was the perfect amount for us. Jesus was great and friendly when helping us take our order and questions we had. Definitely will be back here next time we are near Bryce! read more

This place is great! I wasn't expecting such a cute restaurant in the middle of Bryce! We called ahead and made reservations, so we had a table right by the window- seems like we would have been fine without res though too! Dinner was awesome! We ordered the scallop starter at the recommendation of our server. It came over arugula and watermelon radishes (which, were amazing!!). My only qualm about this is the preparation. I prefer to eat my scallops cooked though, and since they didn't ask- we assumed they would be. These were definitely "rare" in the middle and my husband wouldn't eat it. I guess that's personal preference, and I will know to order cooked through next time. I didn't have a problem, and they tasted good (fresh, not grainy, perfectly seasoned!) For dinner, obviously, we had the steak. It's all organic grass-fed beef. We ordered the tenderloin (7oz, plenty!) and I ordered the mushroom bordelaise sauce, he ordered tarragon butter. Steaks were sheer perfection! Served with seasonable vegetable (asparagus for us!) and mashed potatoes. Just wish we were able to get here earlier to see the sunset with our meal! They have in-house pastry chef and chocolatier, which is pretty impressive. Their chocolate mouse cake was DEVINE and I would highly suggest it (but, steep price tag of $13 if you get it a la mode). They have a wine list, with only a couple available by the glass, but some variety for different palates! The server recommended some for us too! Overall, it was an excellent meal! Definitely the most expensive meal we had out here, but it was a fun experience, and I'm glad we went! Once of the best meals during our week long Utah adventure! This is the onsite restaurant for the Stone Canyon Inn (also excellent btw) and was one of the best meals we had all week. The restaurant is the main event here, almost like they built the accommodations just to surround/complement the restaurant. A little bit of rustic luxury in the middle of this tiny yet charming town. Top notch food, amazing views, and a pretty great wine list. Our server's name was Max and he was wonderful. Lovely spot away from the crowded Bryce Canyon NP. Mikaela, the hostess, was friendly. We had a confirmed reservation by email but we weren't on the list. Mikaela didn't hesitate, found us a table, seated us on time. Max was our wait person. Very professional and friendly as well. (He also gave a great tip on which hike to take at Bruce Canyon. We had dinner this past Friday, October 20th. Food was good and ambience was nice. The hostess was lovely and accommodating, especially as we had to change our reservation time due to the fact that we arrived at the Inn later than we'd planned. We were vacationing in Utah and really looking forward to our night out at the Stone Hearth Grille, but the service we received truly dampened our spirits . Our waitress (The name on the nametag tag was Geri) was really unfriendly, to the point that we felt as though our patronage was putting her out. I dined here in 2018 and it was AMAZING so when I had visitors from Europe with me in 2022 it was the only place I wanted to bring them. Following the instructions on the website to call for reservations for larger parties (I needed a reservation for 8) I was told, "No, we can't help you. Our kitchen staff cannot handle serving that many people at once." How is to different than making two reservations for parties of 4? The hostess was snippy and when I spoke to the manager he basically said "I can't help you." He gave is smallest table outside after we requested inside, since heater was broken. But without a reservation there wasn't much he could do. We asked for Wi Fi password to show him. But was told Wi Fi was only for hotel guest ( you have to be kidding). We finally figured out Wii Fi password on our own. When we showed him (15 minutes later) he said he had also found it. I worked with Stone Hearth Grille on an intimate Bryce Canyon wedding dinner party. They went above and beyond throughout the entire process, were incredibly accommodating, responsive, and easy to work with, from rearranging the venue to accommodate 35 people, to modifying and personalizing the menu and the space, to staying late. The food was absolutely phenomenal and we heard from multiple people that this was the best food they had ever had at a wedding dinner. Geni was the primary point of contact and could not have been more helpful and truly made the event special. She and Jesus were the faces of the restaurant during the event and we were so happy to have them both, service was impeccable. BF and I had dinner here on the first evening they were open for 2017! We were driving back from Zion National Park, saw their billboard, and called to see if they were open. The host was very helpful, and immediately asked if we wanted to make a reservation - SURE! The restaurant is charmingly hidden down a dirt road. The interior is beautifully decorated with stunning photographs of different parks. And we arrived just in time to see the sunset! The Tre Bruschette appetizer was perfect to share - the three bruschetta are large enough to cut in half. BF ordered the Alaskan Salmon with honey miso glaze, maple glazed carrots, and whipped purple potatoes. A masterful balance of sweet and savory! I ordered the Pappardelle Primavera, which was filled with umami flavor from the wild mushrooms, shaved parmesan, and beurre blanc sauce. The waiter highly recommended the orange mousse dessert, which was beautifully presented and quite fruity with citrus and strawberries. Stone Hearth Grille stands apart from any other restaurant in the Bryce Canyon area. Being Los Angeles food snobs and avid hikers, we came to Bryce for the later so Stone Hearth Grille was an unexpected surprise. The setting and views were romantic. The food was truly exceptional with a varied menu and creative/inspired cooking. Our server, Manuel was so personable and knowledgeable about the menu ,even telling us the ingredients in one of the delicious accompaniments. Given the top quality of the food and ample portions, the meal was priced right. Wasn't expecting a five Yelp star restaurant in little old Cannondale. This is the middle of a tiny town nowhere. We were referred here by our Airbnb. Beautiful lodge restaurant with impeccable service. My Kanab ribeye steak was fabulous and so was the mashed potatoes and the brocollini. We split the cheesecake which was also great. Ok so my review should be taken in context.. The food was great. We had scallops, wonderful ginger carrot soup, steak, and salmon. Nice presentation too. You won't find a better meal around Bryce. Our waiter was quite pretentious. Too much so for this place. We ate outside next to the house driveway. The table didn't have a table cloth so after using fork it went onto the patio steel grate table top, or I could have put my napkin back on the table. Dessert was great. Price was high. So we would go back, hopefully get a different waiter- others seemed more down to earth and more appropriate for the scene. By the way the view was nice. WOW!! The Grille is fantastic, a true 5-star dining experience in a small town. Was not expecting such a fine meal and service but the Yelp reviews took us there and did they ever deliver! Terrific meal and service. We ordered a NY steak and a vegetarian meal along with 2 different salads. Absolutely perfect taste and presentation. Service was prompt and attentive (Gena?) with wonderful conversation. We arrived without a reservation at opening (5 PM) in a small snowstorm and the restaurant was filled before we finished dining in the off-season. Hint: For a special treat, ask to be served dessert upstairs for a wonderful view of a Bryce Canyon cliff. You can't go wrong here; your expectations will be met and exceeded. Even the desserts are made on the premises by the husband/wife chef team. We only had 2 nights in Bryce and are heading back for another dining escapade this evening. read more
